Very nice place, nice breakfast, but too slow wi-fi in the room, while great in the lobby. Endroit sympa, bien situé, petit déjeuner copieux, mais le wi-fi était trop lent dans notre chambre, alors qu'il est mieux dans la salle de réception.

This is the third time my husband and I have stayed at this Howard Johnson, and that piece of information should speak for itself. The rate is reasonable and the location to the airport can't be beat. The room was exactly what we needed -- simple, clean, well located, and affordable. My only complaint is that the bed sheets felt rougher than I remember […] them being when we stayed here in 2009 and 2010. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Sarah and Jacaveet. The place is ok for the price. The only complaint I had was the noise from the people in the adjacent room at 1 am (probably poor sound proof). Staff; front desk rep is not welcoming, no smile, good morning, thank yous. Workers smoking less than 10 feet from front office. Premises littered with cigarette butts. Fitness room must have been broken into at some point because the entire components of door lock was stripped including the door strike which have it accessed 24/7 rendering safety mute […] since the entry is from the parking lot. Wires in bunches hanging from the ceiling, rust in the sink, mirror, musty and stained rug, employee only door opened with tools....crazy...this is all in the Fitness room. The bathroom in my room had a rancid odor. In the breakfast area, coffee not hot, milk in a old plastic container...tongs for the hard boiled eggs were inside the container so when you handle the tongs, you actually laid it on top of the eggs when u are done (these eggs are already shelled. My room was clean and comfortable, but it looked like the management had not done a repair that cost more than $5 in years. Doors scuffed, bathroom shower lining peeling, etc. Very satisfied with location near airport -- just don't pay more than $50 or you will be dissatisfied.

While I understand this is a discount hotel, tha basic ammenities should still be there. Especially these days. Our Internet didn't work, my bathroom smelled of in scents, and I felt itchy after leaving. Not worth the money. We left a day early.

It was okay for the price paid for the night. I'd rate it as a 2.5 to 3.0 star inn. Everything was okay except for two things|: 1) no fan in the bathroom; 2) Room on the ground floor was cold despite the heater in the room (heater might not have worked properly). I travel to Portland to see family and this is my favorite hotel. It is close to the Portland Airport and directly across the street from the World Famous Grotto. I love this place because it is quite and it feels like home.

They should really mention the $100 deposit that is required. This was more than the cost off the room. It was dreary and dark and extremely unwelcoming. It felt like u were walking into the bates motel. I would not recomend this hotel to anyone. Convenient to get to, across from bus stop. Motel has free airport shuttle, available as early as 4AM. Otherwise, accessible from airport by MAX Train (light rail) to Parkrose-Sumner station, then #12 bus about 3 stops. Computer in breakfast area. Indian restaurant next door with lunch and dinner buffets and bar.

I needed a room to stay in until my friend landed at PDX airport. Luckily I only had to be there for 6 hours. The room had an odor to it so I have to go to the 7-eleven and purchase air spray. The bed was hard and sheets had holes in them. I would not stay here again.

Our room was adequate, however it was surprising that the only door in the bathroom was to the toilet. Leaving the shower totally open with the exception of a shower curtain. The fan in the toilet room did not work which made that unpleseasnt. The room was very clean, and the beds were quite good, a little too firm for me but very good quality beds […] and bedding. We scheduled a wake up call as we needed to make sure we made it to the airport. The call came through right on time, however, the phone was so quiet, that had we not already been awake, we would not have heard it. The breakfast was not available as we needed to be to the Airport long before the scheduled time, I did receive a to-go bag, witch contained two granola bars, and one package of peanut butter crackers. For that part, I was seriously unimpressed. The front desk staff were quite friendly and professional. When I asked what the menu of breakfast would have been, it was biscuits & Gravy, cold hard boiled eggs, and Eggo waffles . From the sounds of things, I really didn't miss much. As this review is a mixed bag of positive and challenges, I don't really care if it is posted, but it would be nice it the establishment could know to both hand out praise were needed, and address areas of challenge. Other than the friendliness of the staff, there is nothing remotely pleasant about this place. I reserved nonlinear based in pictures, horrible idea! The chainlink fence around the parking lot lot should have been my first clue that this was not the "value" I was paying for. We were put into the wrong room, an upgrade from the king. Great service at check-in. Courteous staff. I was treated w/ respect which was nice. The room was beautiful. The bed was so comfy i hardly wanted 2 get out of it in the mornings.

Hotel is in a confusing location. Not a safe looking neighborhood. Shuttle takes you to the airport, but I wouldn't say the hotel is anywhere near the airport. Fitness room entrance is located outside and code didn't open door. WiFi is very weak. Room was advertised as having a safe, but didn't have one. Refrigerator was tiny. There was mildew on cealing […] in bathroom above shower. I could hear tenants next door speaking clearly.
