Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa - Dana Point

Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff, fantastic location.

It was avery nice place to stay, but parking and if you didn't want to upgrade everything you were second class guests. The hotel was pretty empty and the staff didn't treat us very well because we didn't want to upgrade our room, valet our car... The hotel was beautiful and the location was amazing, just the staff.

The hotel is very nice. The "Laguna Hills" name is a bid misleading since it is in Dana Point 15 minutes south of central Laguna beach. We reserved a room for five expecting two doubles and a sleeper sofa. The room had only the two double beds. The mandatory valet parking at $29.99 per night was pricey. My wife and I enjoyed our time at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa. From arrival the hotel was wonderful, it was quiet, peaceful and the location was second to none. The room was clean, amenities were great and the staff was very kind. I would highly recommend this hotel to all who are visiting the area

Hotel is beautiful but no one was at the registration desk & 3 people had to wait? We were placed directly accross from the ice machine so we asked to be moved & were accomodated with an ocean view room which was great! The valet was not very good however we called down for the car to be brought up only to find that they never went to get it & upon […] ck out we called again for the car but were told that the phone was off the hook for valet as they were very busy ( a wedding ) but when we got down we found no one was at the valet & had to wait again. Not really cliffside to start. I didn't get to use the golf course due to rain but the view was still pleasant. Good food all around via room service or buffet. I only wish the tub was bigger and shower was taller. Although the staff was great, something was missing from making this a great resort and not just a good one. This place is fantastic. The staff is polite and friendly, every one . We can't wait to stay again.

This hotel is actually closer to Dana Point but a great location. Close to restaurants and overlooking the harbor. Very close to the mission at San Juan Capistrano. It was a GREAT hotel for the value we paid. The service was second to none. The only problem we had was with the air conditioning unit in our room. If i could rate this place higher i would. everything was amazing, from the staff (bell hop was friendly and chatted with us as he brought our bags to the room) to the food, both the upstairs bar and the breakfast were great. the bed was to die for. all around an A++++++

The hotel was everything that we expected, great location, good rooms, reasonable rates and friendly service. Will stay there again on our next trip.

Overall outstanding experience. Front desk staff went out of their way for us, even to having a recommended restaurant personalize the menu and provide a complimentary dessert for my wife's birthday. Excellent location, breathtaking view, lovely grounds.

Although the front desk tried to upsell me a room I already had, it was a great stay. Clean and a nice breakfast buffet. Parking is a bit steep @ 30/night but valet staff very helpful.

This is one amazing hotel that I took the love of my life to stay for a surprise. She was blown away and the resort sold the weekend, nearly stealing the show. I plan on taking her back there again and look forward to the accommodations as I was so impressed with my stay. We truly enjoyed every moment at Laguna Cliffs. The bed was yummy. The breakfast buffet was satisfying and offered a wide variety of options (healthy and not so much) for repeat visits. The spa was great. Service was prompt, courteous and. friendly, The only surprise was the extra daily fee for valet parking when the parking lot is in view of the front […] door. This was a fantastic hotel, absolutely beautiful location. The front desk service was great, the restaurant was great. The housekeeping service was a little slow. We requested more shampoo and it took 3 calls and 45 min to get them.

The Hotel was beautiful. The only BIG disappointment was that I wanted a balcony with a view of the ocean. I specified a ocean view and my room just had 3 small windows (on the 4th floor) with a nice view, but I couldn't see much unless we were standing by the windows. NEXT time I will specify a BALCONY on 2nd or 3rd floor with a ocean view.

This hotel was great! It's a very quaint, peaceful, and very hospitable location. Not much of a night life but Laguna is about 8 miles down the way. We are definitely going back.

I went to this hotel as a minivacation with my boyfriend. We checked and were offered 2 choices of room 1) on the first floor with a "gorgeous" balcony 2) the 4th floor with no view. We decided to try out the first floor room first the "gorgeous" balcony was not enough to fit two ppl on and was a tiny triangle shape because we were wedged in the crease […] between one corridor and another. There was no view and the dining area was looking directly into our room. We switched to the 4th floor which had no balcony and windows that you had to walk over to in order to see out of because they were so small (definitely not floor to ceiling). The room was also substantially smaller than what I am used to getting for the price. However, the location was stunning with great trails near the ocean. it is not close to the bustling laguna area which was a negative for us but Dana point is quaint and cute. The room was clean and comfortable just thought it should be a little less expensive for the size. Overall we had a good experience and enjoyed our stay. Lisez la suite

The hotel has been renovated since our last visit a few years back and WOW! The feeling is luxury modern with a very nice ambiance. The bar is a bit noisy with a unique architecture that echos but the rooms were pleasant and the grounds and view spectacular, especially for the price!

A few friends met in Dana Point for a quick getaway weekend; we stayed at the Marriott (which we loved) and the other couple stayed at the Hilton doubletree (worst Hilton I've ever seen). The Marriott was perched above the harbor with stunning views, the Doubletree was nestled between two freeways 100s of feet from the property... The Marriott staff […] greeted us with great warmth and care, the doubletree, where we picked up our friends, was not as generous with any display of hospitality. Marriott is the clear. Voice of any hotel / spa within the area and has quick access to Laguna Beach where you will enjoy some of the best restaurants in LA /OC. Great people, great room, great surroundings and great fun! A hotel I would recommend anyone to stay in.

The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy!!! Didn't get a good vibe from the staff but whatever!!! They did let me check out at 2 because I was getting married that day but I think they would have done so regardless, which was super cool!!! Their grounds r amazing!!! This is a wonderful place to be pampered and relax without having to go anywhere else at a great price. Nice views and resorces to just enjoy a weekend of treats.

On a recent trip to OC from NH, after several days of major stress...illness in the family, stranded in Cali as a result of Irene (Hurricane)...my husband and I needed to just get away for 24 hours...somewhere where we felt pampered and could just relax. We randomly chose Laguna Cliffs and are we ever glad we did! From the moment we entered the lobby […] and rode the glass elevator to our floor and room, we felt a huge wave of feel good wash over us We went down to the pool and were treated like royalty. New furnishings in room are great, especially the bed and bedding, so comfy. We had a little balcony but chairs were too hard to sit on. The park around the hotel is wonderful, great access to views and walkways, and the Harbor shops Remodelled foyer in contemporary is not my style, is cold and needs some furniture but the wall of water is very nice. Loved […] the pool and hot tub---right temperature! Usually they are too cold. Food was high priced with room service and limited, but many places nearby. The lounge/bar/restaurant on the outdoor patio was absolutely filthy to the point no one wanted to sit on the cushions; the air conditioning in the room was so loud it disrupted sleep; the price to park the car while staying at an expensive hotel only added insult to injury. Location is prime but that was about it.

I wanted a room with a balcony and view of the ocean. We got it. Super clean. Everything very fresh. Very friendly staff throughout the hotel for the 2 days we were there. Great food and service in the restaurant. We had 3 servers, all with smiles. My wife gave me all the credit for picking this one.

July 13, high 70's not a cloud in the sky. Gorgeous views of the harbor and grounds from our room and bar. Great night at the Pageant of the Masters. Incredible bedding / slept soundly all night. Breakfast brunch outside looking at the harbor, rose garden, lawns. Doesn't get much better than this.

We were invited to a wedding at the Ritz Carlton just up the street and we stayed at the Marriot for better rates. We loved the Marriot! Very pretty, clean, nice views, nice rooms. You should know they charge $29/nt for parking (not including the tip to the valet, since that's the only option). But I think that is standard for the area. I would defintely […] go back! What a lovely alternative to fighting the fireworks traffic. Great view, green lawn, white chairs..my 7-year-old loved the pools and the surf-board thingy. Pool staff so friendly-- finding available chairs, drink service, etc.

They remodeled the hotel last year and it is very lovely. I can't say enough good things about it!

Absolutely perfect hotel stay! From check-in to check-out. I had numerous positive Valet experiences, including forgetting my cell phone, two positive dining experiences with restaurant staff and Baristas in the morning were great!

Great Hotel! Close to the beach and parks. Great view from pool areas. Only problem was expense. Parking was extra, No self park . Pool service was nice but expensive. 10 for a glass of wine, come on. The restaurant was expensive, even for breakfast. Fortunately, there were many reasonable restaurants in the area.

My husband and I stayed for 3 days and two nights for our 14th anniversary. It was so quaint and relaxing. We literally spent hours sipping coffee and walking the grounds and adjacent parkside. It was amazing. With five kids at home we inspected every inch of the property and found it is extremely kid friendly. We decided our next family get away will […] be here this fall. We cant wait.
