Edifiée à partir de la tour Pagliazza de l'époque byzantine (empire romain d'Orient) et de l'église médiévale San Michele in Palchetto, la façade unique et historique de l'hôtel Brunelleschi offre un contraste saisissant avec son intérieur contemporain. Le hall moderne dispose d'une réception ouverte 24 heures sur 24, tenue par un concierge polyglotte. La terrasse du 5e étage offre des gros plans de la cathédrale en briques rouges, à 1 pâté de maisons.
Le spacieux restaurant Santa Elisabetta sert des spécialités italiennes à la carte pour le déjeuner. Le petit-déjeuner complet est disponible de 7 heures à 10 heures 30 (en supplément). L'Osteria della Pagliazza est un restaurant toscan typique ouvert midi et soir. Des repas privés peuvent être organisés dans la salle adjacente de l'ancienne tour. Cocktails et cafés sont servis dans le bar moderne de l'hôtel Brunelleschi situé au rez-de-chaussée.

Un peu peur avant d'arriver à cause de quelques appréciations un peu salées mais à l'arrivée une belle surprise. Le personnel est vraiment sympa, le rapport qualité/prix excellent. Ce n'est pas le grand luxe mais c'est le genre d'hôtel que je recommanderais. Pour visiter Florence c'est super, on laisse la voiture à Sestto Florentino et on prend le train pour 1,50€.

Chambre très propre, équipements adaptés. Hospitalité hors normes et service chaleureux et attentionné de la patronne du B&B, Elena, qui compense largement un emplacement légèrement excentré, mais avec plusieurs sites accessibles à pied depuis le B&B (palais pitti, san miniato, jardin boboli, oltrarno). Plusieurs bus permettent de se rendre dans le centre historique de Florence en 10 minutes, jour et nuit. Petit déjeuner varié et copieux.

a very comfortable hotel , contemporary design in an old building. In a very convenient position between the Duomo and the Piazza della Signoria. I stayed here with my two adult daughters and we were given spacious connecting rooms which was very convenient. All the staff we had contact with were extremely helpful and pleasant. breakfast was a generous […] hot and cold buffet and the restaurant meal we had was also good. A beautiful hotel, wonderfully friendly, professional and accommodating staff, stunning room, great location - we had a perfect honeymoon and can't wait to stay here again (when we can afford it!). We stayed on a deluxe room with breakfast included, and even bought the pictures off the wall as we loved the decor so much! Staff very flexible ans accommodating […] about this! I cannot say enough about this hotel! "Form over function"
Central location, updated rooms, very clean and SUPER comfortable beds. However, the design is too modern with glass staircases and high tech rooms. A room shouldn't require directions to use the lights. It took me ten frustrating minutes to figure out how they work. A lighted mirror in the bathroom kept blinking, which kept us from getting a good night's […] sleep. It runs on a sensor that was broken. The person who came to try and stop the blinking couldn't figure it out either. He told me it happens all over the hotel and he told me to face the mirror towards the wall and cover it with a towel, which did not work. I could have just closed the bathroom door, but it was made of glass and so we spent the night trying to sleep with a strobe light in the room. As for the glass doors, I would prefer to have privacy in the bathroom! Service could also be better - Our friend had to wait two nights for someone to find a battery for his tv remote. We had the same problem with our room safe, which blew out a battery when the electricians came to put pictures and Braille descriptions on the 20 light switches in our small junior suite. Do not come here if you need handicap accessibility. The tub surround is so high, none of us could get into it. Also, when you come off the elevator, you have to descend a few glass steps only to climb another longer set of glass steps to get to your room. Keeping in mind we upgraded to a magnificent suite, we loved it at Brunelleschi. The suite was fabulous, had everything and more including a bedroom with a rooftop terrace containing a jacuzzi, all looking out over rooftops and the Duomo. "Highly Recommended - A very nice Hotel"
Very nice, luxurious hotel, recently refurbished (we visited Feb 2012). Room only had a little natural light (big windows in Bathroom and Bedroom, but in shadow all day), but Florence is a maze of tiny back roads so this is to be expected in a lot of locations. Proximity to all the sites was fantastic with nothing mnore than a 10 minute leisurely stroll […] away. Again, as is to be expected, the restaurant and bar in the hotel were pretty pricy; €12 for a glass of wine and €16 for a Focaccia with some crisps...no too bad in the scheme of things but equally good food and wine is available at many of the cafes on the many piazzas for a bit over half of that cost. Breakfast was the usual 4star buffet fayre with a good selection of ecellent quality food and drinks and table service for tea and coffee...and they served until 10:30am every day! A bonus if you've been taking advantage of the lively Florentine night life. Overall, we would definitely visit Florence again and would stay at the Brunelleschi Hotel. "Excellent central hotel"
The hotel is in a wonderful position - central Florence, with easy access to everything. We were there for 4 nights during the coldest period in Florence for more than 25 years. The room was not huge, but was warm and comfortable, despite max daytime temperatures of -2 and night temperatures of -10. Include windchill and it was very cold outside. Welcoming […] staff and we were looked after well. This hotel is undergoing renovation and there are still 'snags' being corrected. There is a smell of drying plaster and fresh paint. We were on a B&B basis and breadfasts were excellent. Excellent value for such a central hotel. One or two little annoyances, mostly in the bathroom which was a triumph of design over utility. It took us a day or so to work out how get the right temperature water in the right place. It was also not possible to fill the basin - no facility for a plug so wet shaving was awkward. The TV system was very temperamental and would frequently freeze - making it necessary to turn off the sysem to reset it. Trick - point the handset at the green light from no more than 30cms away. Finally, this hotel is unusual in Italian hotels in providing tea/coffee making facilities - excellent. But the stocks were not replaced after use nor were there any Uht milk cartons. These 'annoyances' were only minor - and would not deter us from staying there again. The plus points far outweigh the minus ones. Stay in the Hotel Brunelleschi and enjoy Florence. Our stay at the Hotel Brunelleschi was wonderful. Very nice breakfast buffet... courteous staff. The common areas at the hotel were looking very tired, but we learned while we were there that they were about to embark on a full renovation of those spaces.... The staff was very helpful, except for the overnight desk attendant who seemed to be bothered […] whenever we came in late or left very early in the morning. All the food and drink in most of Florence is priced quite reasonably, except for the Hotel's... wished that we could finish each day with a nightcap at the hotel bar, but our bar bill for 2 gin and tonics, plus complementary peanuts and chips came to 54 euros ! We stayed at this hotel for 4 days then went to Rome for 4 days and returned to Hotel Brunelleschi for the remaining 2 days of our trip. We loved this hotel. The rooms were lovely and immaculate and we were thrilled to be upgraded to a beautiful suite after returning from Rome without having to request this change. It was wonderful! The location of […] the hotel is fantastic and you can walk anywhere in Florence without a problem. The surrounding neighborhood is charming and filled with beautiful shops and places to eat. The hotel staff was a pleasure to deal with every day and we were so grateful to Sergio for his kind manner and all his assistance. Beatrice and Raffaele were also a joy and extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of foods and you could eat enough to get you through hours of walking and touring. Had a wonderful stay here and couldn't ask for a better location. Would stay there again without a doubt. Beds really comfortable and bathrooms really well appointed with power shower, very clean. The location is perfect, a few steps from the Duomo, very close to Piazza della Reppublica, really great but anything else. I want to highlight the very bad service and manners of some of the chambermaids. Below the bed the floor was really dirty and the room was too far to be ready and clean with the exception of the first day in the hotel.
