"Good locale, place needs tlc"
We like the hotel, have stayed before, and will stay again. This trip we chose a suite and were delighted on arrival to see huge outside space with furniture. Sadly, this terrace was uncared for by maid, as was room during stay, until we let housekeeping know. Plants were more or less dead and towels unchanged, bins not emptied. Other than that the stay was wonderful. Front of house staff are brilliant. We just felt behind scenes staff were not doing their job. Locale cannot be beaten

"recommended hotel!"
had an amazing stay, the location is perfect. only 5 minutes on the tram to the train station, right in the old town, by the beach and only 15 minutes from the airport! the room is so comfortable, the bathroom is a little tired and could do with a refit but that was my only minor problem. very cool to sleep in at night, and quiet (i had a privilege room facing the inner courtyard)

"Excellent location, regular hotel"
Great location, but can get very noisy at night and early in the morning as the street cleaners start working at about 4pm and are very load just outside the window. The windows weren't sound-proofed in any way and sounded like they were open. Location is perfect and could only have been better if it had a sea-view.

"A good location for a NICE visit."
The hotel is in an excellent location. Unfortunately it is in a tired condition and much in need of a refurbishment. The cocktail bar is friendly and the service good as are most of the hotel staff. Unfortunately, the essentials such as the condition of the shower and cleanliness of the bathroom needs up-rating to give the hotel value for the money paid. It would not put us off visiting NICE again which is always the place to be.

"not great except for the location"
The room smells moldy, found a few molds in my bathroom walls. Room service could do some scrubbing in the bathroom. The concierge was not helpful. Asked for recommendation on breakfast places and all she said was anywhere would be fine. If I was to come back to Nice, definitely wouldn't stay in this hotel again. the only plus side is the location, which is well located.

The hotel photos are deceiving. This was definitely not a 4 star hotel. My husband and I splurged to stay here and were not impressed. The carpet in the room was filled with mould clearly from a leak in the shower. The vent in the bathroom was also filled with mould and behind the bathroom mirror was layers of filth. The elevator was out of service and there was construction across the street. The luggage storage in the lobby is not secure. A staff member left our belongings in front of the check out desk for 15 minutes while anyone could've walked by and swiped it. It wasn't until we asked 2 more times for them to stow it properly that they actually moved it. They were not polite. Location wise this hotel was easy to get to from the airport by bus and close to place massena and many restaurants.

"Excellent location, friendly reception staff"
Took my partner away for a romantic birthday break. We were met by lovely Fiona at reception who was very informative and helpful, giving us information on where to go to eat and sightsee. Arrived in our room which in the main was adequate size, comfortable bed, room a little tired and rather warm once door/window was closed and AC was non-existent. Had to leave the window open at night to keep cool but was disturbed on several occasions during the night with the noise from bin collections, motorcycles and general vehicular noise. Dread to think what the room would be like in the Summer. Unfortunately, the bathroom was quite tired and not very clean, with water seeping under the shower glass door. There was a pill on the bathroom floor under the vanity shelf for the duration of our three day stay. I left this pill there to see if it was removed; it wasn't therefore proved that the bathroom floor was never cleaned during our stay. The pebble design on the floor in the bathroom helps to cover the fact that it is not cleaned on a regular basis. On the second morning we were met by the lovely Sonia at reception; again very informative and even spoke to us in French which helped us to learn a little more of the language. We have absolutely no complaints about the reception staff but feel that the room could be brought up to the 4* rating the hotel professes to be.

"Not a 4 star hotel merely a 3 star"
The first room I stayed in had a sewer smell in the bathroom and was so noise located on the first floor right on the street. 2am people talking and trash pick-up at 5am! I was switch to a better room as they said I was upgraded! Well the only good thing was the noise was reduced as my room was now on the hotel courtyard, the problem is that they have meeting rooms that access the courtyard for people to smoke and if you open your window you basically smoke with them! As per the staff besides Norberto who was very professional the rest is not close to a 2 star hotel! The only 4 star status is the location but I will not stay there again.

"location, location, location!"
Very close to the beach, it is an easy walk into the old town with it's abundance of restaurants. The bus stop is just round the corner and the tram is nearby so there is no need to use taxis. We had no complaint with the hotel except the louvres on the wooden blinds are fixed so you are either in darkness or bright light. Also a stool in the large bathroom would have been a help. Yes breakfast is expensive, but it is a buffet and it was great to have a pot of coffee instead of a small cup.

Hotel has a superb location as you are seconds from the Promanade des Anglais and from Place Massena - the heart of Nice. However, the sound proofing of the Hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The street noise up to 4am is very very loud with party goers, and then the street cleaners begin their shift.

"Bathroom problems and street noise."
This hotel has a nice location by the promenade and was super close to restaurants and shops. The reception staff are also pleasant. However, we were disappointed with the bathroom and noise from a nearby bar. The hot water in both the sink and bathtub would be intermittent varying between super hot to cold. When we raised this up with 2 hotel reception staff members we were told that this problem has occurred before for other rooms and is being worked on. They said be expected to let the water run for up to 5 minutes before getting anything hot. When the bar closed for the evening (around 1 or 2am) the patrons spilled out on the street and continued their celebrations on the street waking us up for all the 3 nights that we stayed there. And to top it off, on the last night, we returned to our room to find out that the cleaning staff did not fully close our door leaving it ajar for anyone to walk in for the whole day while we were gone. Luckily nothing was stolen. Very disappointed indeed.

Hotel Beau Rivage is amazingly located on the main strip of Nice. Only a minute walk from cafes, restaurants, shops and the beach strip. We would recommend it to anyone visiting Nice. A couple things to mention: 1) parking for the hotel is limited if you are coming by car be prepared to pay 24 Euros/day at the underground public parking garage just around the corner 2) If you are not a smoker, request a room on the 2nd floor. This is the only non smoking floor in the hotel. Happy travels! 2 days in Nice should be more than enough to see it all.

Beau Rivage Hotel is a welcoming hotel with positive and helpful staff from Reception to the breakfast to the bar areas. The hotel room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked a dream and was easy to use unlike some hotels. Hotel Beau Rivage has perhaps the best location in Nice, directly across from the Promenade des Anglais and the adjacent beach, and right on the edge of the Old City (Vielle Ville) and all of its attractions. The hotel itself is a perfectly adequate facility, with a nicely appointed lobby, a small bar, and a small, nicely appointed breakfast room. The rooms are large, though our room's bathroom sink, featuring a faulty control fixture when we moved in (it was not screwed in and kept falling out), eventually failed to work at all our last night there. Hotel management suggested that was our fault for failing to report that the control fixture was loose during our eight day stay. We felt the maids who worked around and with the faulty fixture each day and evening and who eventually caused its demise during bed turn-down the last evening might have more appropriately reported the need for repairs. Otherwise, the maids were quite helpful although not always thorough on making sure all necessary supplies were present. The front desk staff was also generally helpful although not always well-informed. Their failure to inform us that we needed to buy tickets at the front desk for the beach space rental in order to receive the hotel's (minimal) discount on the rental cost us $10 our first day. As noted above, our room was quite large, and the bed and bath large and comfortable. The attached internal terrace (a first floor feature) went mostly unused by us because it was fully visible to anyone on any of the other terraces or from above, including from the main hotel terrace. Terrace furniture was minimal; two cheap rosin chairs and an umbrella stand that lacked an umbrella. Breakfast room wait staff was very helpful, and the cost was reasonable: $20 per breakfast per person.. But location, location, location. It is unlikely there is a better located hotel in Nice. And room charges were reasonable. Our deluxe room with terrace cost us about $340/night.

Stay was good, but our luggage was handled in a bad way. We had one of the bag sealed and didnt plan to open it for our entire honeymoon but the guy who was handling our bag open the seal saying that is what they do with all bags. But the sad part was the way he opened it, he had bluntly opened the plastic seal which caused permanent scars on our new bag (didnt tear it though).

"Smart and central hotel"
We were in a room at the top of the hotel which was high above the noise of the streets below. Being a central hotel just behind Promenade des Anglais and just a stone's throw from the Old Town it is very well located for restaurants, the market and the Port of Nice all of which can be reached by foot. There was some noise from streets below but this was to be expected and did not spoil our stay. The breakfast was quick and convenient with everything you needed, there seemed to be a lot of English people in the hotel over the Bank Holiday weekend. The bathroom was very nice, with a bath, toiletries and a shower as well as clean towels every day. The beds were also very comfortable with a television and safe. We could see the view of the roof tops but not the sea. Our stay was well priced for what we got with free breakfast and wifi. The lift was a little slow which was the only inconvenience. Over all was a good hotel and would probably stay there again. We were able to go the Old Fort at the end of the Promenade des Anglais which is a great day out. The buses are nearby in the Old Port which are inexpensive and will take you anywhere along the coast for 1 euro 50.
