Hotel Arthur - Helsinki

Comme partout en Finlande, l'accueil est courtois et agréable. L'hôtel n'est pas tout neuf, mais il est propre. Le sauna coûte 6 euro pour une heure, mais il est privé, moderne, et très agréable (j'y suis allé les trois soirs où j'ai séjourné à cet hôtel). Le petit déjeuner est un buffet à volonté, gratuit, et très varié. Seules les viennoiseries françaises […] sont absentes des tables. L'hôtel est peu cher, mais il se rattrape sur sa connexion internet qui est filaire (c'est un avantage), mais qui coûte 20 euro pour un usage illimité tout au long du séjour. Enfin, terminons par le point le plus positif. Cet hôtel est particulièrement bien situé. A pieds, il est à deux minutes de la gare et de l'Ateneum, à cinq minutes du centre ville et de ses commerce, et à moins de 15 minutes de la mer et des bateaux en partance pour Suomenlinna. Accueil convivial et parfaitement anglophone, equipement moderne (sauna, teles ...). Tres bien situé (proche de la gare et non loin du port). Confort excellent, chambre spacieuse et nickelle. Grande salle de bain, et couloirs silencieux.

The hotel is a bit old and worn but comfortable. The breakfast spread was amazing. No hassles with chech-in or check-out. Old hair dryer- not too useful. Free wi-fi was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel for budget travels. I stayed only one night though.

close to the Central station (10 minutes on foot with luggage) but little bit far from major shopping and attractions. Tram 3B is nearby, so 1 day pass (12euro including airport transportation) or more days will be useful. excellent location and good breakfast.

This hotel isn't very fancy or modern, but clean, with friendly staff, and cenral location. Internet has to be payer for, but not too expensive. Breakfast optoins quite good.

Centrally located near the train station, not quite what I had expected. A small reception with friendly staff, however the lift is an intresting experience - a solid metal door that you physically open rather than automoated. Upstairs, the corridors were dated and looked like that of a residentioal block and the room was disappointing. Reasonably large […] but the bathroom was not particulalry clean and the decor / furniture was very dated. I would not look to stay in this hotel again. Lisez la suite

Very good hotel. Very good service and very cheap

Good location, very close to train station/ centre of town. However, my room was absolutely freezing, so much so I had to take the covers off the spare bed and line the window with them. Pillows were so synthetic they produced sparks everytime I moved in the bed (and not in a good way!) Breakfast was quite good, although I had to leave very early one […] morning to get to the airport and, even though they said they'd prepare something for me to take with me, there was nothing there for me when I checked out at 5am. Also, a big aspect for me as a solo female traveller was security. It didn't feel very safe as you can walk straight off the street and take the lift up to any floor you please, you don't have to go through reception. All in all, it was fine for my purposes as I was only there on business, but if you're looking for a nice hotel for a nice weekend, I'd probably give this a miss. Good for groups of students/young travellers though as it's cheap by comparison and Helsinki is strangely lacking in hostels! Lisez la suite

Nothing fancy, no luxury. Old and somewhat workned hallways and public areas. Though large renovation on process, which may change things. If you look for cheap sleeping with clean, standard room then you can consider Arthur. Breakfast is good.

I begin with pluses: the location is very good, 5 min on foot from railway station, near from shops and bus stops. The breakfast was really good! The woman in the bar was very amiable and friendly! Minuses: the room itself is ugly, in the batthroom i didnt want to come in... it was very cold inside the room, at night i was awoke for some times because […] of freezing. The TV set was old (but it was ok))) The carpet was with many spots.... i didnt want to wear off my shoes... in general, this hotel doesnt cost that money which was paid. Lisez la suite

Cleaning was poor i the room we got, there were acctually blood on the sheets from former guest. Hotell in need of reperations, and are a bit worn down. The employees however was really serviceminded and breakfast was good.

Good centrally located hotel - decent size rooms, quite good breakfast. No possibility to purchase hot beverages (coffee/tea) in the evening / night. It is OK to pay for internet access in an inexpensive hotel - but not this much (EUR 2 / 30 min)

This hotel is right in the city and is a minutes walk from the Railway station. So it is walking distance to other attractions in Helsinki and the tram stops. The restaurant attached to the Hotel is quite good and the reception staff are very nice. The room was very comfortable, quiet and safe.

The beds were a bit worn, but comfortable. The room was clean, staff was helpful, and the (included) breakfast had a good selection.

This hotel was in a great location - reasonable quiet and close to trains, and trams. Renovations were happening in some sections of the building but there was little disruption for us.

I had a very enjoyable stay. The room was small but kept clean. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. I would have liked free Wi Fi & the BBC never came on the TV. There were no English language papers in the lobby but these are small inconveniences and the hotel and location were wonderful otherwise.

Hotel Arthur is quite cheap - but after check-in you know why. The rooms and bathrooms are OLD, haven't been renovated in decades, it seems. At least they are rather clean (exept the bead spreads). Breakfast is tolerable, but nothing more. My advice: Pay more and stay somewhere else - especially if you are in Helsinki for more than one night.

Our room at Hotel Arthur was huge!! It had parquet flooring, and was clean. The beds were comfortable, and the location very convenient - downtown Helsinki, easy to walk to lots of attractions, and underground parking close by. There are lots of one-way streets in Helsinki, and a GPS is a definite help in getting to the hotel. The room was not pretty […] - very pink and 1970's...but we had everything we needed at a good price. Do not be scared by the grimy hallways, the room was fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was excellent (something we can say about all our hotel stays in Finland!). Lisez la suite

Conveniently located near the bus terminal (although a bit of uphill walk!), this hotel is a gem! Booked a room for 4 and the room was large enough with a sofa set and very comfortable! The only con is the inability to adjust the aircon temperature but during my stay, the weather was kind enough so not an issue. My kids love the room and the breakfast […] buffet is not bad too! Just 2 blocks from the City Center, in short walking distance from the train station, bus terminal and tram lines, and with many restaurants and cafes in its vicinity, Hotel Arthur is in a very desirable location. The staff were friendly and helpful and extended my check out by 2 hours since my flight was not until 6 PM and let me store my luggage in […] the hotel even after checking out. They called for taxis whenever I needed them. The room itself is rather ordinary and charmless unlike other hotels I have stayed in in Europe. There was no fan or AC and when the outside temperature hit 70 F, the window needed to be left open. One problem was the noise from the trams at night through the open window. Hotel Arthur is centrally located to the rail station and tourist areas. The rooms are a bit cramped and the bathroom is tiny, but it still is a good mid-range hotel.

Sattui vielä remontoimaton huone, joka toivottavasti on aikanaan korjausvuorossa, ainakin kylpyhuone kaipaa sitä kovasti.

sijailtaan hyvä palvelu erinomiasta aamupala tarjoili tuli aivan pöydän viereen toivottamaan hyvät huomenet

Rakennus on vanha. Se näkyy esimerkiksi ikkunoissa jotka kaksikerroksiset ja maali jo hilseilee pois karmeista. Mutta jos ei anna tämän häiritä, on hotelli erinomaisella paikalla keskustassa ja minun kohdallani ainakin palvelu oli mitä ystävällisintä.

Ruokailu ilalla oli pettymys. Tilasin Arthurin lämpöisen voileivän. Leipä oli "käristetty" kuin ulkogrillissä ohueksi ja kuivaksi, melkein palaneeksi. Se ei ollut sellainen kuin olin tottunut.

Edullinen hotelli, siisti joskin hieman kulunut ja pelkistetty huone, hyvä aamiainen, loistava sijainti

Dette er et slitt gammelt hotell og for de som ikke er ute etter komfor! Det var dog rent på rommet og personalet var hyggelig. Ett+ for at det ligger veldig sentralt, bare ca 4 min. unna f.eks. jernbanestasjonen.

Centralt, trevliga rum, sjysst personal i receptionen. Man kan inte bo bättre om man vill ha nära till centralstationen, gågatorna och sevärdheterna. Hotellfrukosten dock inget för en gastronom. (Varken fräscht eller gott). Nöjd resenär

Hotelli sijaitsee keskeisellä paikalla, josta pääsee nopeasti esim rautatieasemalle. Huone oli hieman kulunut (wc-pönttö keikkui ja maali wc:n katossa lohkeili), huoneen väritys ei erityisemmin miellyttänyt. Sänky oli hyvä ja huone oli rauhallinen ja hiljainen, joten nukuin makeasti. Taulutv:täkin tuli katseltua. Aamiainen oli ok ja miellyttävä tunnelmaisessa […] ravintolassa söin illalla maukkaan salaatin.Henkilökunta oli kaikinpuolin ystävällistä.
