Très bon hôtel. Bien siitué : la ligne 30 de bus MTS va sur le campus UCSD, en centre ville (en semaine, sinon il faut prendre le trolley) et passe devant l'aéroport. Il n'y a pas de navette, mais le taxi pour l'aéroport dessert bien (j'ai payé moins de $40 de taxi). Chambres confortables, et assez silencieuse malgré la situation proche de la route. Très […] bon lits, beaucoup d'oreillers pas trop épais, choix de moelleux ou ferme. Wifi très fiable et simple, a permis de passer plusieurs appels Skype sans problème, et navigation classique également. Petit déjeuner très sympa, du choix, tant en sucré que salé, buffet à volonté. Cinnamon rolls, céréales, fruits, yaourts, lait, plusieurs pains avec grille-pain, scones, muffins (qui font un très bon goûter), bagels, cream cheese, bacon, scrambled eggs, jus de orange/pomme/cranberry, café, confiture, oatmeal,.... A noter la chambre n'avait pas de chaise ou de bureau, juste une table basse et un genre de pouf de bout de lit. Salle de bain très bien, avec grande cabine de douche. Le business center est très pratique : photocopie, scan et impression gratuites. Plage pas loin, restaurants mexicains, asiatiques, 7-11 à proximité, la plage à 3 minutes, les magnifiques maisons de la jolla, un très bel endroit. Hôtel vivement recommandé. Lisez la suite

Mold in shower. Burnt lamp shades. Broken blind slat. Slow running drain in sink.. Large space between bottom of entry door and floor., also side of door and door jam. Street noise noticeable. This place was a dream. It was walking distance to the beach. The rooms were modern, beautiful and clean. Hot breakfast was delish! close enough to classy shops or down to earth pacific beach, festive old town and seaport village! yet you stay in the fancy schmancy la jolla area! it was a great romantic get away!

Hotel is really close to the beach (2 blocks), walking distance (a bit of a walk) to galleries & shopping. Close to great mexican food & bagels.

I give this place a positive review and I would stay here again. An older property but well maintained and set up really nice. A little out of the way in La Jolla but a real nice area

We were so thrilled to have such a nice place to stay, at a price we could handle in a very high-end neighborhood. The accommodations were just perfect for us -- the free breakfast was high-quality, as was the hospitality room. We were made to feel comfortable from the moment we checked in.. We will definitely return!

me and my two children ages seven and eight stayed the weekend here. The gentleman that checked us in was very polite and knowledgeable about the area. We were able to walk down to the beach from the hotel. The breakfast was fabulous. We had a slight problem with the cable television. I called the front desk and the man was there within just a couple […] of minutes to fix it. When I requested a cot for my son to sleep on, again it was just a matter of a few minutes before they brought it. The breakfast was good. They had a decent selection of food and fresh bananas and oranges. The only complaint I have about the hotel is that the pool did not seem to be heated. The location is great for the beach and for couples. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance however no fast food that the kids LOVE while we're vacationing. Lisez la suite

This hotel was located on the coast only blocks from the ocean, in a nice village invironment, with 3 nice restaurants within 1 block walking. It was only 15 minutes from San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and what a view of the shoreline down to San Diego and up to Escondido Beaches. The only down side was our room didn't have a window to see out of and was on the 2nd floor, I preferred 1st floor but she said she couldn't find another one open. I thought she could have looked harder because I saw a couple unoccupied the entire 4 days were there. Also it had your room door open to the outside and we are not used to that from a Holiday Inn. Just OK for the Price. We had never been to La Jolla, could have found other accommodations for a little more $ in better area. Almost no light in the bathroom, a safety hazzard. None of the maintenance crew spoke english. We showered in the dark. Painting and upgrades ongoing. Breakfast was OK, new pancake maker was inoperable. I suggest spending $20-$30 […] more and get closer to town. Actually next trip we'll stay in San Diego and visit La Jolla (maybe). The Cove is nice, shops are very expensive. I am very happy about my stay at the holiday express inn. I only stayed a brief time and had to deal with the time difference of the east coast. I would go to bed early and was up early as well. It was quiet without issues which is a plus in my book. The nice ladies at the front desk were very helpful when asking for recommendations on restaurants. […] The room was really nice and clean. man at reception was very helpful... room was clean and ready.. in ground floor just beside the street.. breakfast was awesome with a lot of varieties... beach was 2 blocks away and public transport right in front of hotel.. however one blind in our room was broken and since it was right beside the street we were a little bit worried about it.. but […] nothing happened. overall nice stay and good value for money. will surely recommend it. My wife and 3 year old son had a fantastic time in San Diego and was only enhanced by the comfort and convenience of this HI. I don't think we could have done any better for the price!

Stayed here for a week with hubby. We love to walk and the beach is a 5 minute walk. Downtown La Jolla is a little further, but its a nice walk along the beach sidewalk. Drawback - the door to each room slammed shut, so you heard your neighbors coming and going. Staff was accommodating. Parking plentiful (and free!), but spaces were tight. I got a really great deal on rooms here, so I wasn't expecting much. BUT! I would totally recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again. The room was large, very clean, and had clearly been recently updated. The bathroom was very clean and the shower (no bath) looked brand-new. The breakfast was generous and was in a really nice breakfast […] room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was about a 5-minute walk from the beach AND there was free parking. Really, no complaints at all. Con: I was in a room on the main floor near the main road and it was *loud*. I turned on the a/c for some white noise and was fine (and I'm very picky about noise). nice hotel, great location, spacious, comfortable rooms and decent breakfast. What's not to like?

The room was larger than many hotel rooms. There was a little noise from the traffic but not too bad. Room was clean and they don't charge for WiFi. Within walking distance to some restaurants.

If you want a hotel just between La Jolla and Pacific Beach, this is the hotel to stay. But please note that it is not in downtown La Jolla.

Excellent hotel in good location. Superb shower. Nice breakfast. Would stay here again.

Room was quite small but clean.During the day there was alot of noise outside and the free breakfast was average.Overall a decent place to stay and in a nice location if you can get a good rate on the room but I expected a little better.

The only thing i would have liked is a coffee pot bigger then one cup at a time. Everything else was great, room size was awesome

Pro: Conveniently located in La Jolla. Rooms comfortable. Breakfast provided in room cost and is substantial. No charge for parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Con: In room coffee maker was inadequate. Hot tub not very hot.

Overall the room was nice to stay in except for the noise from the street since one of the walls of the unit where we stayed was next to La Jolla boulevard.

A decent budget hotel close to the La Jolla Village. Pool and Hot Tub are nice but close early at 10:00pm so guests can sleep. TV is very basic and pretty small. Shower heads tend to very from room to room some with too much pressure. A/C is marginal with loud through the wall type units. Pillows are nice with options for firm medium and soft.

We having been going to The Holiday inn Express in La Jolla for MANY summers!!!....We have always had great service,a clean and nice room,and an EXCELLENT breakfast!!!...I recomend this hotel,and i look forward to going back again,and again!!!!!!......It is an excellent place to stay!!!....Thanks for a great trip!!!!!!

Nice location for seeing the La Jolla area. Well kept and clean.

Stayed in a room with two queen beds by the pool, as our mini suite was not ready when we arrived. Place looks nice, with a nice small pool and spa. Room design could need an update, but room was in good condition. Stay like a La Jolla local on a budget. Short walk to Windansea beach, a local fav. Or, a family friendly 1.5 mile walk to the heart of La Jolla shopping & dining as well as tourist fav La Jolla Cove. Great pool; but be warned it is not heated. Wouldn't stay in a regular hotel room, get a suite, and prepare for kids and noise at pool. Also, pull out beds are filthy under the sheets stained with what looked like blood and then you could feel the springs. Bad nights sleep on that.

Although the shower was very nice, the Hotels.com description specifies "Rooms (all rooms include)" .... "Jetted bathtub" which was not available. My wife was looking forward to it. This was compounded by the fact that the spa tub had just recently been shut down. This was annoying even though it is something we can't really fault them on.

I stayed for 5 nights and was satisfied overall. I was woken up in morning by the outside traffic and people. Be sure to ask for a room facing away from the Blvd.

The trip was a blast, and the four of us who stayed in the hotel had little to complain about. The front desk personnel however was far from helpful and could barely speak english. The pool and hottub weren't working, and no one had told us until we arrived. The location is in beautiful La Jolla, with many restaurants and shops around so that was nice. […] Overall the stay was fine, but this Holiday Inn Express lacks a few key aspects that would make someone less optimistic than myself quite annoyed. This hotel had nice decor and was in a good area but walls were paper thin. People began banging around about 5 a.m. (construction? maintenence? checking out?). The noise from the street was very bad beginning about 7 a.m. as cars headed to work. I felt as if I was sleeping under a bridge instead of in a room - it was so loud. My other complaint was […] the shower. It was contemporary and hip, but not at all practical. Only half a door, so water got all over the floor of the bathroom. This hotel was clean, convenient and has been completely renovated. It was a little noisy if you are in a room on the street side. We had a room on the second floor with two queen beds...very comfortable and a large room. I did see into a room on the main floor that was being cleaned and it only had one bed and was much smaller. I would highly recommend […] asking for a room with two beds. They provide the standard breakfast (stick to the cereal and you won't be disappointed) and overall it was a pleasant place to stay. Nice, clean room moderate priced hotel. Outdoor spa was freezing cold 80 degrees but the pool and sunbathing area is nicely laid out when the sun is out. Window shades were not fully functioning. This was a great hotel - very clean with an impressive ambiance & great location. I would definitely stay here again. The location was excellent! I went for a wedding and couldn't have asked for a more desirable and affordable room! My only negative comments would be that there is close to an inch gap underneath the door, so I had to put a blanket […] along the floor (to block sound, light and possible insects) when I slept at night, as I was near the road. ALL of the doors slam, so no matter what the people were doing around you, particularly in the morning, you would be startled/woken up by the slamming doors...unless of course people were decent. There was no overhead light, only side lamps. That drove me nuts!!! Still, I would recommend it highly and would stay there again myself. great location. easy access to the beaches. The breakfast was great. The pool is a little cold but very clean. The shower was the only bad thing, the water went everywhere and the bathmats were always soaked. Other than that, it was a cute and very nice place.

The hotel was much nicer inside that what we were first expecting (nothing fancy on the outside). The staff was beyond accommodating. The room was a bit noisy because of the street traffic, but nothing that had any sort of effect on the trip. It was a great convenient location. We would DEFINITELY stay there again!!

V. nice hotel. We had a room by the pool and it was a gorgeous setting on the patio. A little noisy in the evenings, but everyone was quiet by 9-9:30pm so not really an issue.
