Days Inn West - Eau Claire

We were glad that we checked in with a good amount of time before our meeting in the area so that we could change rooms twice. The first room smelled like 50 years of cigarette smoke. It was okay except for the heater. Either fan on continuous w/no heat or intermittent w/heat which makes you wake up every time it turns on. There wasn't much around near by for restaurants. Things were clean, staff was friendly enough.

Had stayed at this site on numerous occasions, but things just seem to be slipping. Property is in disrepair, leaving it looking rather beat up and ratty. Toilet clogged...never a good place to start. Worse, when traveling with today's teens -- the Internet was out. Also needs paint. Pool area not open. This Days Inn offers great value for the price! There are plenty of fast-food places, a truck stop, and gas stations nearby. Perfect for an overnight stay when you want to be near I-94 or access to US 53.

I was disappointed with the condition of the room. Typically Days Inn provides complimentary toiletries, they were available in a vending machine, - expensive for the toothpaste I forgot. Days Inn West was a really nice place to stay for the night. It was very reasonable, and clean. The staff were all nice. The only thing that I was not one hundred percent satisfied with was the fact that they said there was no pool, but they did actually have one. Everything else was GREAT! (:

This particular Days Inn is exactly what you would expect and I have no complaints. HOWEVER, please be aware that if you intend to use a GPS to find it, you may be sent miles away. This is not the hotel's problem and they have been trying to rectify the problem. My GPS sent me to another address on Truax and found myself at a firestation!! The hotel room was dirty, there was mold in the bathroom. The TV remote did not work, the bathroom light did not work and the Wireless Internet did not work. All of these were resolved the following day about an hour before our required checkout time. The beds were a little less than comfortable and very small, even for doubles. The price was cheap, but this is hands down the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The carpets were filthy, the shower had hair on the walls, the towels were a kind of dingy gray color, and there were stains and curly hairs in my bed. There are several other hotels in this area, so I would strongly advise staying anywhere but here. You may have to […] pay a little more, but it will be worth it. There is some sort of long term stay section in this hotel, so my view was of a a grill, beat up cars, and people walking around without shirts on and smoking and hanging out in the parking lot. There were several kids, who I assume are also part of the long term stay section, who were running around and yelling while the adults were hanging out by their dilapitated cars smoking. This is truly a disgusting place to stay, even for one night. DO NOT RESERVE A ROOM HERE! I've never commented on a hotel, but I had to with this one. I left early before my appointment and drove around and got coffee just so I could get out of my room. I ended up taking a shower at a friends in the morning and staying on their couch the second night...... Lisez la suite

It was ok for the price and for what we needed- a bed to sleep in while traveling.

Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. It did look loke some people were living there. The back of the hotel looked like dog patch. The non smoking rooms were non smoking but some of these people were smoking in the halls.

I asked for a non-smoking room and was informed the whole hotel was non-smoking. I do not know when the policy was enacted but since the carpeting and drapes and wall covering had not been changed it was like sleeping in an ashtray. Nice, clean rooms and common areas. Friendly front office staff, on duty 24 hours a day. Decent breakfast. Only downsides during my stay was that the pool was out of service for repairs, and the outside card reader at one of the entrance doors did not work - though I did see it being worked on when I was departing. the toilet apparently "sweats" (according to desk clerk) and had leaked all over bathroom floor, we then had to keep towels on the bathroom floor to absorb the water. the room had a funky odor, towels had hairs on them, a wash cloth from a previous guest was hanging on shower rod (obviously room was not cleaned!). We had to sleep in our sleeping bags […] and fortunately we had them and our own pillows. The carpets in the room and in the hallways had debris and did not look as though they had ever seen a vaccuum. The only nice thing I can say is it was right off the highway and we woke early and got right on the highway and sped away from that hell-hole. Lisez la suite

I stayed here a year ago for several days. Except for some kids in the room above me that time the room and service was good enough that I came back. I only stayed one night this time but the service was 1st rate and the room was clean and comfortable. They are renovating rooms. So, they should be caught up eventually. Great stay for the money. Older hotel, right by the interstate, though not noisy. Has some bigger spots for parking for large vehicle or vehicle with trailer, if you arrive early. Takes pets with a fee. It would be nice to be able to include this fee in the reservation, but no problems during check in anyway.

The room was clean and comfortable, but you get what you pay for. There was a lot of external noise, i.e. slamming doors, children running in the hall way (unfortunately our room was close to the pool). The furnishings were 'worn' but comfrotable. It was fine for just passing through and needing a place to put our heads.

Very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They met every request we had. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

For the price I paid, it was a good room. A couple things that would have made it great...keys that don't take 5 times or more to open the door and rooms that don't smell like an ashtray.

We are very satisfied with everything at Days Inn
