TRES BON SEJOUR.

"Close to shopping"
Excellent. Great, friendly staff.
It was great for what it was. Couldn't find a guestroom book anywhere to figure out where anything was located in the hotel or around the hotel without calling the front desk. And the wireless was pretty weak. Other than that, it was great!

"quick one night stay"
the hotel was nice and friendly. I just wish the beds were bigger they were a full size bed not a queen size
"Perfect shopping and dining spot."
Everything was excellent, the food in Kuletto's was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. The hotel is on Union Square and everything is right out the lobby. No bedbugs.
"great location...small rooms"
This is not the first time i came here. Great location: union square. Very small rooms. Toilettes very small with below the average services. Good restaurant (kuleto's, very funny name for an italian restaurant). Good cappuccino at norcini's bar. Not the croissants.

"Good hotel"
This is a really good hotel, great location and good value but beware the extras ($45 dollars for valet parking and $15 'admin charge' - plus expensive and occasionally dodgy room service) - otherwise staff all friendly (though reception badly undermanned) - important to ask for room on quieter non-street side of hotel and high up. Bathrooms small.
Previous experiences using hotels.com have been excellent for USA, and right on the money, but this time the hotel wanted to add an "administration fee" of USD 15.00 per night, totaling USD 45 for our stay, on arrival. We declined and refused to sign, and some noise was created. The next morning they gave in and admitted that hotels.com should have […] been notified. New management had taken over last year and they were evidently looking to draw some extra money out of their business. Please keep this in mind if you choose this hotel. The location is excellent for SF stay but the room on 6th floor was rather cold and noisy, unloading lorries garbage trucks and ambulances etc. creating noise during the night. Not the best experience we have had on our many trips to the USA. Lisez la suite

"Villa florence in San Francisco"
The hotel is locate on the center of union square, the location is perfect. but when I checked in at 3 o'clock, the room was not ready yet, I had to go out sightseeing and check in after dinner. and sometimes the elevator is not in function.

"Nastiest room I've bought on Hotels.com"
I was shocked at how horrible these rooms were. But the staff was super nice and moved me to a new room (the first one smelled horrible) and both rooms along with the common areas beyond the lobby we grossly dated and worn out with cigarette burns on the furniture and flat 10 year old pillows. The room facing Powell St was so loud with street noise […] that there's no way to get any rest. If this hotel spent some money on upgrades the location and great service would make it a 4 star but until then, I'd be leery. Lisez la suite
"Weekend in San Francisco"
Very nice hotel. Excellent located, close to many attractions and good restaurants. A bit noisy at night-time. Trafic and people, but that is the way it is in the centre of a city that is alice 24 - 7. Very costly parking fee ! 45 USD/day. Helpful and friendly service !

"Boutique Gem in Union Square, San Francisco"
This 6 night stay was a delight. The staff was exceptionally helpful. Location was perfect. Would stay here again.
"Villa Florence-- in union square!"
This was very comfortable in terms of location.. in union square and about 2.5 miles from fishermans wharf. We tried to find the hotel on a friday evening and the busy union square traffic made it pretty hard to find.. but they had valet parking which was very convenient. The hotel is pretty, the room is good and comfortable. Its quite small but that […] didnt matter since we were there only for 1 night. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was awful. Dont ever eat there! Overpriced, not tasty AT ALL!. the next day, we were very surprised to get our parking bill of 68$. I have never paid so much for SF parking. But i guess valet came with a price. Oh well. Overall pleasant stay. Loved the ambiance and the location. Lisez la suite
"Villa Florence: Don't miss the salami!"
We were pleased overall with our stay. The hotel was as advertised: reasonably priced, great location, comfortable rooms. But we were surprised and delighted to discover that hotel cafe (Bar Norcini) and adjoining restaurant (Kuleto's) serve house-cured salami, ham, sausage, pancetta, etc. These were excellent - as was nearly everything we ate there […] during our stay. Enjoy. Lisez la suite
I've stayed at Villa Florence several times. It's always my first choice if they are offering a special. Location and servcie are great. Decor is nice too. Bathrooms are a bit small just like the other smaller hotels.
"So-so hotel"
I recently stayed at Villa Florence for a conference at the Moscone center. Proximity to the Moscone center West is pretty good, it's about a 10 minute walk at most and I was able to come back to the hotel during breaks. I stayed on the 7th floor (top floor) and my room faced Powell street. I had a single queen sized bed. It was extremely noisy till […] very late at night, so keep this in mind if your room faces the street. I heard drums, violins, cable cars and emergency vehicles. Also know that there were no blackout curtains so the city lights are pretty bright in the room even with the shutters closed. The bed linens were clean, but the carpet was pretty gross. I don't usually walk around barefoot in hotels, but it was definitely out of the question here. The bathroom was so tiny, about 4 ft by 5ft (which includes the shower/tub) and the sink is in a little alcove, I would hit the sides of the walls when I leaned over to wash my face and I'm small at 5ft 2. The size of the tiny alcove is also the size of where the toilet is. Very tiny... My husband who is 6ft 2 found this bathroom extremely small. It was pretty small for me too. The shower curtain was not clean. I could see unsightly grey drips on the inside of the curtain when I showered. A lot of people said this hotel had great bathroom products..I don't care how great your products are if you don't offer conditioner. In my opinion, if you don't provide conditioner then you're just lacking in bathroom products. For anyone who is interested our soap and shampoo were CO Bigelow and the lotion was L'occitane. This building is old which has it's charm and its quirks, but one quirk I wasn't happy with is that I frequently got stuck in the bathroom and had to wrestle with the door knob to get out. I have done a lot of domestic and international traveling and I felt the overall user review rating of 4 is too high. They have a decent bar and restaurant in the hotel. The staff all seemed very friendly. If you have an ev Lisez la suite
"Nice but noisy, tourist neighborhood"
The hotel was very nice, and the staff is great. I also like having an iPhone/iPod charger in the room and free Internet with decent speeds. The down sides are: - this neighborhood is packed with tourists and panhandlers so not very relaxing to go out for a walk - watch out for the hidden $17 "admin fee" the hotel charges you on leaving (separate from […] what you paid on hotels.com) Lisez la suite
"Perfetto!"
This hotel has an authentic feel that is often very missing from chain hotels. Loved the bar, restaurant, atmosphere and location. Could not be better. True - room was euro-small, but it was cute and clean and also the last place I wanted to be with San Francisco just outside. Great place!
"Villa Florence"
The hotel staff is very friendly. The location is ideal for visitors without transportation who prefer to walk to attractions. The lobby area and restaurant are very nice. However, the hallways and rooms themselves, though clean, felt a little crusty. The age of the building was apparent. Room windows are small and made the space feel a little claustrophobic. […] Our experience was pleasant, but after having stayed in a few different hotels in the area, we wouldn't stay at this one again. Lisez la suite
"Good location, needs service improvements"
Great location near Union Square. Our room had no view, looking out at a wall, but was relatively quiet and clean. My only complaint was the front desk service. Very slow. Took forever to check and and never brought us our bags. We spent 15 minutes tracking down someone to retrieve them from storage.
"Nice Hotel, shame about the service"
We picked Villa Florence because of its location. Union Square was at your doorstep. Rooms were nice and clean, however there were many times our bath facilities and coffee/tea amenities were not re-stocked. The front desk was mostly manned by 1 person with long waits. Never ever saw a concierge at his desk. Seems like the hotel is under-staffed. This […] spoilt the experience somewhat. When checking out we were hit with a $15 a night service charge. When the hotel staff were confronted, they explained this was to cover the free(?) internet, coffee and tea facilites in room. They explained that I signed off on it when I checked in. Then quickly highlighted in yellow marker, the sentence amongst all the other fine print. I thought this was a poor tactic on their behalf to hit patrons with other charges. I could have happily done without internet and coffee/tea facilities (since they werent re-stocked) and save on the $15. A box of tea and coffee would have cost me $10 at the local Walgreens. "$15 Administrative Fee???"
why are customers asked to pay a $15 administrative fee on top of all of the other fees and taxes, and $45 parking fee. I also was disappointed that we were turned away for breakfast at 10:35 on a Saturday! Because the "kitchen is closed" at 10:30. I have stayed at Villa Florence for years, and have used the private dining for parties, but I don't believe […] i will go back. Lisez la suite
"best ever"
This is a very fun Hotel, we stayed with 2 teenagers in one room, it is not a superspacies room but it was zo cozy and comfotable, we loved it. the Hotel is very romantic you feel like entering a hotel in Paris....The restaurant is very good as well and every one is very friendly, we felt at home and did not want to leave. It is right were all the exitement […] is and if you have to travel the Bart is close as well. If you don't like city noise, you should get a room what is not located on the front, but we did not mind the street noise, it gave us a vacation feeling. Lisez la suite

"Villa Florence"
Perfect location, good room, quiet and excellent service. Even the Espresso in the Cafe in the Lobby is outstanding. Moderately priced compared to other 4 star hotels around the Union square. Highly recommended.
The one issue that I had was the administrative fee plus daily taxes added to it. I think this is somewhat a rip off because we could not use our computer in the room, even after the hotel staff attempted to fix this issue.
They do nickel and dime you for everything such as the internet, something they call an administrative charge.

"more than I thought"
I didn't notice the 'resort fee' so just make sure you add that to get a true final cost. It was disappointing to learn about it at night when it was raining and I was in no mood to look elsewhere. I didn't need or want the local phone calls or use of the business center but it's not optional. Otherwise, the room was a bit small but it was quiet and […] clean. Lisez la suite

Great location for shopping! The room was comfortable and updated. The hotel staff was excellent. We stayed in a room on Polk Street, which ended up being a terrible mistake. "Nice place"
The only downside was that I thought the parking was expensive. For one night it was $50 for valet, not including tips.
"Disappointing"
This hotel has a great location and a beautiful lobby but the staff is not friendly and the rooms are just so-so. They charged $15 for "free" internet and coffee/tea in the room. What is that about?
"Great place with hidden charges"
The comfort and location of this hotel are all top notch. Before you book, be sure you find out what all the additional "fees & charges" are. They are numerous and expensive and turned out to be more than what they even quoted. $15/day for sundries & $51/day for parking after being quoted $40. If it were not for these undisclosed and overstated fees, […] we would stay here again and refer. Unfortunately we will not do either. Lisez la suite
