Galleria Park Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel - San Francisco

The hotel was clean and well located. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very small and the bathroom was so tiny, there was no shelf space for electric razor, electric toothebrush et al. The king size bed was very comfortable and clean with plenty of pillows. The hotel is old but clean.

Every employee I interacted with was warm, friendly, and helpful. While the hotel is in a great spot, has a beautiful lobby and comfortble rooms- the employees REALLY stand out. The gym is very small and not user-friendly, but the 24 Hour fitness right around the corner is easy and convenient.

Had a very nice early winter break in San Franciso. As a fan of the joie de vivre hotel chain, was thrilled to see a reasonably priced option on hotels.com. In San Francisco again for business, I was thrilled when I pulled up to the hotel. The location was fantastic and I'd be within walking distance of both my meetings and great restaurants. The staff was wonderful, the lobby was gorgeous, and the wine reception by the fireplace was a nice touch. Little did I know that I should have guzzled the wine in […] order to sleep because the beds were simple incompatible with sleep. I lay on the first one and my honest reaction, no exaggeration, was that by mistake someone had put some sort of display in my room...a wooden box with sheets meant to photograph the layout or something. Unfortunately, a move to bed number 2 told me that alas, the beds were simply the hardest, lowest quality beds I've ever slept in. After a sleepless night, I awoke with a sore back (and I'm in good shape in my early 30s without any problems usually) and confirmation from my coworker that his experience was the same. It was so bad, I decided to forgo my second night and take the red-eye home. Good location and wonderful staff. They even upgraded us for our anniversary. The only fault I have is that the bathrooms are very outdated. The small shower was adequate but for a junior suite, I would have expected a tub or at least a larger shower and new tile. I spend a lot of time in San Francisco on business and this is my favorite hotel. Convenient, quiet, great service and fantastic value. Evening wine receptions are nice. I've stayed at pricier places that were noisy and lacked the great service of this place.

For the price I paid, this was a very great place to stay. Its close to everything shopping eating and the subway. Rooms were very clean and for San Fran Standards, decent size. Cant ask for much more.

This is a charming, updated boutique hotel. The location near Union Square was convenient to our needs. The staff was very helpful. Morning coffee and evening wine receptions were nice touches. We loved the rooftop terrace. Our room was small but comfortable. We were very satisfied.

In the centre of town away from the tourist traps but brilliantly located to get to see everything you need with BART, bus and trams all near by. This is a great boutique hotel with some unique features. The staff were friendly and helpful and the guest meeting for a free glass of wine or 2 each evening was inspired

If you want to be in the shopping, dining, and overall center of SF, this is the place to stay! The room was small but well appointed and clean. We definitely will stay there again.

I was fortunate enough to catch a discount on this place when I booked, but it was just exceptional! My business colleague with whom I shared and I were just blown away. A few blocks from Union Square, great restaurants nearby, bakery on the corner. The lobby is very smart and the entire staff never fails to smile and say hello. The building itself is a smidge shabby, but this is typical of older buildings in San Francsicso and the furniture and appointments are all new, tasteful, and elegant. Great experience at the Galleria Park Hotel. Location is great, hotel is quailty all the way around. If you like the Union Square area for business or pleasure, no need to look further. The only this missing is an abundance of restaurants, but you can walk a few blocks and find some. I would pass on the one next to the hotel called " Hecho " sushi / […] tequila bar ? Never heard of such a thing and tried it, but the food was so high in price and quality B+ at best. They are not owned by the hotel but next door and connected by a door only. Lisez la suite

great downtown location. easy walk to many restaurants. room and bath were small, but amenities made up for it. sushi bar just off lobby was a very nice surprize. early evening wine tasting drew a good crowd.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The bedding and towels were the best of the 7 hotels we stayed in that week. we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is fantastic. I am in San Francisco 6-8 times a year and usually stay at great hotels by Powell. This time I took a chance and could not have been happier. This is a plesant and elegant little hotel with a great location off of Union Square. Easy access to all of downtown San Francisco. Staff is friendly and accomodating. Just be forewarned - there is extreme city noise in this location, and this hotel has old single pane windows which do little to keep the noise out. Lower floors can be quite loud. Best location, best decor, best customer service I've experienced in the city. Can't wait to come back here. Rooms are small, but well decorated and very comfortable. Fixtures are modern. A short walk from BART, Union Square and countless great restaurants.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel on Friday and Saturday. I was on the Sutter side on the 4th floor, but the noise was not too bad at all. I slept fine. Free wireless, Free wine.

What a nice little hotel in the city. Friendly staff that make you feel welcome. Easy to find the hotel on Sutter Street because of the protruding overhang by the valet. Hotels is centrally located in San Francisco & within walking distance to the pier. The rooms are spacious comfortable & clean, although the bathroom could use some upgrading. The free wine before dinner served in the lobby each day was a great way to start of the evening before going out for dinner. The hotel staff was very helpful in suggesting […] restaurants options. Highly recommend this hotel. The staff were very helpful from the off! They knew it was our Honeymoon and gave us a free complimentary upgrade with champagne and made our stay very special. The hotel is close to everything with all local transport very near by. Close to shops, and good places to eat. China town is just one block away. Good Hotel in the centre, bus stop close by and a short walk away from Union Square and China town. Staff very helpfull and polite. Rooms very clean, coffee machine a bit of a pain. I would certainly stay in this hotel again and recommend it to others.

What a wonderful place to stay and enjoy San Francisco. My friend and I went for a girls week of shopping and sightseeing and it was perfect in every way. The hotel itself is beautiful. We loved the art deco environment and the service was outstanding - from the desk, the concierge, housekeeping - everyone was smiling, friendly and helpful. Our room […] was very quiet. And the free wine in the lobby was a nice bonus and a great way to meet other guests. We walked easily to Union Square and all the shopping you could ever want. It's only a short walk to the subway , and the neighbourhood has every kind of eatery you could want. We especially enjoyed the little breakfast/ lunch spot right next door for a quick bite. The hotel was pricey for what you get but the location is perfect.

Great Hotel! Very good location, easy to walk to all the sites or the trolley stop, only thing to consider is that is right in downtown, so you can hear the city noise pretty easily at night, but other than that it was great!

I'm a light sleeper but this hotel is very quiet. I was offered ear plugs but never needed them. The hotel is in a quiet area of town, close to the financial district. There are a number of restaurant close by and the BART station is only 2 blocks away. Zach on the front desk is an absolute gem. It's in a good location - only a short walk to Sutter Street BART. We didn't use any of the hotel's facilities so can't comment on the food, drink and room service. The staff were really friendly and helped us plan our very short stay in SFO. Would stay there again, so I guess that says it all!

We stayed here for 5 nights and were very satisfied with the stay. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel itself oozes personality and charm. The rooms are a little small but I think this is not out of the ordinary for the older style San Francisco hotels. That said, the room was very comfortable and we did not feel cramped. hotel conveniently located in san fran very freindly with evening happy hour wine session which we only managed once as we were too busy most nights. That once was a good sociable event though. Hotel staff were extremely knowledgeable about San Francisco. Staff provided a map, directions, and helpful suggestions on where to go and how to get there. The bathroom in the room was very outdated and small. Location is the best part of this hotel along with the friendly staff. I would stay there again.

Great location and the service is good but the walls, ceilings, doors are too thin. Each day awoken early due to guests or guest children. If you are a lite sleeper I do not recommend it.
