Une jolie chambre simple, design, avec un poisson dans son bocal, un patio, des meubles pratiques (table à repasser, nombreuses serviettes). Le matelas n'était pas super confort, et attention hôtel bruyant (ils jouent au bingo au bord de la piscine jusqu'à minuit, pour les couche-tôts c'est pas l'idéal). Mais on se gare facilement dans les environs, même si le quartier n'est pas très intéressant (en voiture c'est pas très grave). Mais à 20 euros de plus qu'un motel traditionnel c'est quand même une belle affaire, et un lieu assez unique.

La "chambre" est en fait une vraie suite qui comporte un séjour, une cuisine équipée, un bar-table, un coin bureau, une chambre à coucher et une grande salle de bain. Le lit est un king size super confortable. Il y a aussi un balcon où on peut prendre un thé tranquillement. Le seul hic de la chambre, c'est que le bruit de la climatisation est incroyablement fort! Heureusement, on arrive en avril, pas besoin d'allumer la clim tout le temps. À propos du petit déjeuner, le choix est satisfaisant (il y a même du riz et des nouilles instantanés!), mais le service "œuf fait sur place" est disponible seulement dans la semaine.

Inadmissible de servir le petit-déjeuner dans de la vaisselle jetable : cela donne un goût éxécrable aux aliments et c'est 1 gaspillage énorme totalement anti-écologique et l'endroit est totalement déhumanisé

Super Hôtel, services et chambre impeccable, le petit déjeuner est très copieux et compris dans le prix de la chambre et le must des boissons chaudes et des fruits disponibles gratuitement au Desk H24. Je le recommande vivement.

l amenagement du complexe est tres agreable :des allees arborees entre chaque batiments . des chambres propres .des lits pas assez larges pour 2 personnes.un petit dejeuner peu varie , manquant de pain a griller :et un seul grille pain ! un hotel entierement ferme :une grille pour rentrer .sinon hotel a conseiller pour des personnes qui ne demandent pas le luxe ,mais tout est bien propre et nous n avons pas ete gene par aucun bruit .

The hotel allowes pets and when we went to our room there was a barking dog in the next room. The staff changed our room right a way. When we got to our new room there were no soaps or shampoo . They brought one soap and one shampoo!! My wife has allergies and she had a very hard time breathing, we believe it was due to pet dander. Addition of valet parking is unnecessary; cramps my in and out style. Clays, the restaurant, is outstanding and the happy hour, 4-7 has half-price amazing food! A beautiful 5 minute walk to La Jolla Shores-a gorgeous crescent shaped beach.

"nice"
nice hotel, nice staff, thin walls. my stay was wonderful, just what i needed... time away. the people were great! nice little walk to the beach and shuttle service to shopping i loved it. then some angry loud people checked into the room next to mine. i would stay there again, i will just always tavel with earplugs and tylonal PM from now on!!!

I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone - business to vacation. Rooms were new, clean with great linens and quiet. Staff was friendly and ocean view was great.
"Good and Bad aspects"
Let's start with the good: 1) Restaurant was excellent with a great ocean view and good happy hour. 2) Room was comfortable. 3) Complimentary shuttle to downtown. 4) Coffee in room. Here's the bad: 1) Check-in clerk fumbled around and couldn't find my reservation -- took 20 minutes to check in. 2) Room had all the handles on the dresser missing, carpet […] was filthy, in-room safe did not work -- I changed rooms. 3) For this trip I had valuables with me, and safe in the "new" room did not work. 4) They charge to park your car. 5) Although they offer free wireless internet, the signal was too weak for me to connect. So there were good and bad aspects. Decide which are important to you prior to booking. Important note: This hotel offers two rates, one for a garden view and a higher rate for an ocean view. The truth is, all the rooms face the ocean and have an ocean view, so don't pay the higher rate for the same room. Lisez la suite
my friend and i stayed at this hotel mid april, i would recommend this hotel, but only with the following conditions, ask for a room that does not face the hotel entrance, it was so noisy to hear the valets yelling and the incoming people well into the early morning hours, we were looking forward to the hot tub, but within minutes we were already out, […] it was dirty to the point you could see skin cells, very gross. The lights by the bed wouldnt turn on, and although they have nice flat screen televisions dont expect a crystal clear picture. We also thought the 'spa services' were at the hotel, they weren't and when asked about the place they 'outsource' to. they ddnt hav a list of services. the restaurant was nice, beautiful view, but way overpriced for drinks. For breakfast amazing food and great service, but at night dont expect great service, the girl who took our drink order didnt even know what kind we ordered, she had to come back and ask, and it was a midori sour for my friend and a specialty drink on their menu. I only recommend this hotel, if you dont hav a room that faces the hotel entrance, and dont plan on having dinner in their restaurant. Lisez la suite

Didn't like this place we got in at 2am and were supper hungry and this hotel doesn't even have room service and on top of that they charge 15 a day for parking...the rooms are pretty nice but that's about it...
"Hotel La Jolla at the Shores- family friendly"
We enjoyed this hotel for a weekend with our 3 kids (8,5,3). Our Ocean View room was on the 7th floor and was great. We loved the view and the balcony seating. I really liked the updated decor, the room was spacious enough that we didn't feel packed in. The kids LOVED the shower with window into the bedroom (fyi- there is an electric shade for privacy […] if you want!). We used the free shuttle service to the aquarium, shore, & dinner; Taylor was a great guide & driver. The manager was most kind when he was sent to our room at 7:15am because our kids were being a bit noisy while we were getting ready for the day (the embarrasment of being "those people"!). There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The only thing that could have improved would be for the onsite restaurant, Clay's, to be reasonably priced. "Location is the best feature"
Overall, a nice hotel, great location. The hotel look is improved after the relatively recent renovations. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint: the valet parking. It's mandatory, and it just makes things less convenient. The lot was never that full, and we were there during the crowded La Jolla Half-Marathon weekend. Half the times the valets […] parked our car within 50 feet of the entrance, and they never needed to do unusual parking arrangements that would have prevented guests from parking their own cars. You just end up wasting time waiting for the valet to get your car, and then you feel the social pressure to tip a guy who brought your car from 50 feet away when I would have preferred to get it myself. If you're here on business you'll be fine (which I was), but I was a little frustrated that there weren't any restaurants in walking distance and the "real" La Jolla was a few miles away. (Didn't have a car). BUT, they've invested a lot into making this hotel modern and they try hard and deserve credit. But for some reason, it just didn't feel very […] comfortable for me. The room was "too modern" meaning more form than function. The A/C was weak, the pillows were useless. It's cool that there was a Starbucks and Subway REAL close and the 11th floor restaurant is nice and has a nice view (except if you eat dinner there, you'll get a tan - and blinded). I don't know. "Property is being renovated"
The room rate was fantastic for a hotel in La Jolla, CA with an ocean view. The property is still being renovated, but my room had recently been renovated and it was very nice especially for the price. The top floor restaurant, Clays, was excellent and happy hour prices were an incredible buy.

"Amazing view! Excellent Rooms!"
Great experience. Lots of fun surprises at this hotel! The ocean views are breath taking! Happy Hour at Clay's was great too with a lovely view. The shower was surprising and very cool. Decor was really modern and the rooms were huge. Bed was dreamy! Very small thing, but noticed some of the upgrades were done pretty quickly without attention to detail […] like the panels in the rooms and the elevator. The outside of the hotel is in need of a make over. The original room we checked into was tiny, and we asked to be moved to az better room. They did this with no problem or charge. The rooms themselves have been updated, but are on the small side. The views are amazing. The food at clay's was wonderful, as ws the service.

Everything was as expected. The accommodations exceeded our expectations. Rooms were very modern. What you would expect to find at an upscale hotel. View from room at a partial view of the Ocean. The only improvement I would suggest is the attitude of the individual at the front desk was not very pleasant. Very curt and not very helpful.

Check-in was THE worst I have ever experienced. The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful & it was as though I was a hassle to them for wanting to check in! The staff need to be empowered to make decisions for themselves instead of relying on a sour-faced female front of house manager who needs to find another type of job where she does not have to deal […] with the public. The rooms are fantastic BUT the walls are paper-thin & I could hear people & TV's in rooms on either side of me .... coupled with the traffic noise kept me awake for the duration of my stay. If I was to return to La Jolla I would book a slightly more expensive hotel and get better service coupled with rooms that I dont hear the person in the next room sneeze or cough or watching TV. "Needs Updating but OK for Price"
The common areas of the hotel are dated and in need of repair. The walls are extremely thin - our room was across from the elevator and we heard considerable noise throughout our stay (primarily due to the tile floors in the hallway). The hotel is located at the corner of Torrey Pines and La Jolla Shores Dr. It is a convenient location, but not in walking distance of the water. The rooms are newly renovated and very nice. "Romantic birthday early Valentine's stay"
It was exactley what we were looking for a very 60's outside looking hotel. When we checked in we asked for the highest ocean view room, which she was able to do. The only problem it was on the end by a busy street, but by 9:30 pm no noise. The room was updated very classy. They have a resturant/bar on the 12th floor, Clay's. It has a great Happy Hour […] 4 till 7, with half price snacks (all great) and a wonderful sunset view. We just had Happy Hour with appetizers which was plenty. At check out they only had 1 person and they left for 5 min, which was actually 25 min, so check out was delayed. But on a whole the hotel was great, walking distance to town and the beach. "No Wireless and not such a friendly staff"
I checked in at about 7:00 P.M. on a Thursday night. The desk clerk appeared to be a college student. He was acceptably pleasant, but barely spoke to me. I got into my room. It smelled a little bit like mothballs. I needed to check my email and found no wireless or internet. Very strange for a hotel in a University town. This was really inconvenient. The […] bedside light were really nice with adjustable dimmers, however, they were tied to the very bright hanging ceiling lights in the corner. Very convenient to Scripps Clinic where I was going. The only strange thing. Do not like window in shower open into bedroom. I turned out to be alone but had my son or daughter been with me, it would certainly have made me uncomfortable. Hotel Restaurant was pricey but good and a beautiful view of the sunset on the Pacific.

"Small but awesome."
The rooms are awesome and unique. They are small but are layed out in a contemporary and fascinatingly efficient way. Everything you need is there on a small footprint. I loved it. The jacuzzi was nice and hot. I liked the place a lot.
