"Un hotel très bien situé, à 2 pas de la gare"
Le seul point négatif : Princes Street est l'artère principale et la chambre est un peu bruyante le soir et le matin assez tôt. Sinon le reste est parfait !
"Royal British Hotel : Situation centrale"

"Friendly staff, outstanding location"
We stayed at The Royal British Hotel for 4 nights and really enjoyed our time there. The member of staff on reception when we arrived was extremely polite and friendly, and our room was ready 3 hours before check-in time, which was an added bonus. The room looked as though it had been recently refurbished and was very comfortable, and above all, quiet. […] Despite the extensive roadworks on Princes Street, we couldn't hear any noise where we were and slept really well. The location of the hotel was excellent. Princes Street is quite literally on the doorstep and the Airlink Bus stop and Waverley Train Station are just a two minute walk away. If I had to make a negative comment, the shower pressure and shower temperature were quite poor, but this definitely shouldn't put people off visiting this hotel. Would definitely recommend! Excellent! Lisez la suite
"Central and handy"
Grand old hotel that has seen better days but was central, tidy and friendly.
"Good location to station and sights"
Rooms lacked clock, radio, no bar fridge,or small clothes line above bath.on arrival reception unaware of borking hence a flurry and wait for room on arrival after 3pm.
Good morning, My stay at the hotel was adequate. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was located in a good location, close to shops and bars. However the hotel was in need of up-dating. The carpets were in dire need of replacement and were see through in places. The dining room was out dated and guests were confused as to sitting arrangements […] and breakfast procedures. My room was clean, but I could not close the bathroom window. The bed lights were located directly over the bed, so when you got up you banged your head of the light. Lisez la suite
This hotel was usefully sited so close to Waverley station no taxi was needed for luggage - just up the Waverley steps escalators. If the decor was a little dowdy it was clean and the staff polite, helpful and welcoming.
"Royal British Hotel Edinburgh - GREAT location"
Ideal spot, walking distance to all attractions and right next to public transit.
"Love Edinburgh!"
Great hotel location - unfortunately, they are building a tram system right in front of the hotel, so not very quiet early in the morning! Very convenient for sightseeing bus tours and train station. Front desk staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Dining options a bit scarce, but good food just the same. Hotel is showing it's age - worn carpets, […] cracked bath tiles, but very comfortable beds. Very high ceilings need dusting! I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Edinburgh for the first time! Lisez la suite
"Royal British Hotel in Edinbough"
1 minute walk from the station. Large bathtub and good supply of hot water from shower. Nice service. Some repaint will make a room look much nicer. Some noise at night from the backstreet (probably refuse collecting truck), may be because of the place of the room and not a whole hotel.
"Royal British Hotel Edinburgh"
Nice: Very close to the interesting must-see sites. But the hotel is very run down, not very clean, the blankets are worn down. The staff is not very friendly (especially the ones responsible for the breakfast). As in a lot of hotels the price for breakfast ist extraordinarily high compared to most cafes around the Princess Street. And it is not worth […] it at the hotel. Try the cafes. Lisez la suite
"location great, room not"
Perfect location for Edinburgh shopping/hogmanay, but I woke up with a kink in my neck every morning from sub-par bed, the bathroom is beyond small (barley could bend over in shower, sink sticks out a bit into toilet area, no place to put toiletries). I didn't have warm much less hot water until running water for 30 minutes and bedding is old/out-dated. […] Fine enough if you're good cheap motel quality, but not for a comfortable stay. WiFi was sketchy. Restaurant staff very friendly. Lisez la suite
"Royal British Hotel- Edinburgh"
I really enjoyed my stay at the Royal British hotel. The Staff was extremely helpful and kind which made my stay wonderful. My room was cozy and the bed was very extremely comfortable. There was tea and shortbread in the room that was very enjoyable. I loved the historical feel of the hotel for it was built in 1820. The hotel is very close to the shopping, […] restaurants, Waverley Train Station, the castle, and other attractions. They offers free Wi-fi that had excellent reception and there is a restaurant in hotel that served very good food. They were kind to stored my luggage while I took a tour (I was only allowed a small bag) and when I got back they helped me plan the rest of my stay in Edinburgh. I will be defiantly staying here again! Lisez la suite
Excellent location, comfortable and sweet room, not something particularly posh and luxurious. I would stay again in case of a business trip
"great hotel"
fantastic location reception staff really helpful, room was lovely very quiet all round very nice hotel
"The Royal British Hotel within walking distance"
The Royal British Hotel is within walking distance of all the must-see sights in Edinburgh. Step outside and you are on Princes Street where all major stores and restaurants are also located along with Waverly Transportation center.
"Royal British Hotel is in a great location"
The Royal British Hotel is in a great spot in town. You are right in the tourist area, close to the rail line, restaurants, sights, and shopping. I would definitely recommend this place.
"Scotland"
GREAT location! The airport bus drops you almost directly in front of the hotel. You can walk to all major tourist sites, pubs and shopping. The front desk was very helpful. VERY hot showers. Again the location is one of the best in the city. The rooms do need a face lift, but for the price, you can't beat it. I would stay here again......... Great […] location, very clean.............. "The Royal British Hotel - good location only"
The only thing this hotel had going for it is the location, right across from the Waverly train station. The hotel was rundown and the room was dirty. The carpet and walls were dirty in the halls and rooms. The hotel is situated right near a club that had music blaring late into the night. I would not recommend you stay there....especially for the price […] we paid. I have stayed at WAY nicer places in big tourist cities for less! Lisez la suite
"Royal British Hotel, Edinbugh"
Hotel is tired with worn carpets. Good location and room seemed OK. Room signs can be misleading and easy to get confused. TV had to be sorted. Staff friendly and breakfast was OK.

"Edinburgh's Royal British Hotel"
I was requiring “a bed for the night” prior to a mid morning flight from Edinburgh to Jersey. I knew about the Royal British Hotel, having frequently used its “Heidi’s Pantry” for lunch, prior to a Matinee performance at some of Edinburgh’s Theatres. The single room I was allocated was on the third floor. It served the purpose adequately. It was an […] easy walk in the morning to reach the bus for the Airport. As previous “users” have mentioned, the staff are very friendly. In my opinion, the hotel has not yet been fully refurbished; particularly in the corridors. Lisez la suite
"royal british edinbrough"
hotel could do with more modern decor, shower room very small, beds comfortable, good heating, served our purpose well.

"For ME It was ok"
My room was on the 4th floor, and the elevator only goes up to the 3rd, which as no big deal, But could've been a problem if i didn't like stairs. Shower only seemed to run cold, which was fine for me as i was only staying one night, and like having a cold shower after my run in the morning I think a lot of people would've been quite frustrated by these […] 2 issues, but for me it was not an issue, and the location was perfect Lisez la suite
"Excellent location"
Stayed at the Royal British Hotel Edinburgh for three nights. The room was excellent and modern. The hotel was centrally located which made it a great base from which to explore the city! We travelled by train and we happily surprised to see how close the hotel was when we arrived. It is also very close to the first stop on the hop-on-hop-off tours, […] which are a great way to learn about Edinburgh. i would highly recommend staying in the Royal British Hotel while visiting Edinburgh. "excellent location"
Great location and good service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I got the best view from my window overlooking at the Balmoral tower. Thank you. I will surely recommend this hotel to all my friends and relatives.
"excellent stay"
I was quite pleased with my stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was excellent- I would certainly choose the Royal British for my next stay.
"The Royal British Hotel, Edinburgh"
I was really happy with the location and the friendly and helpfull staff at The Royal British and the services provided by the hotel. Only things I would complain about was the noises from outside my room window on friday and saturday night, which can be explained by the night life and the black stuff between the tiles in the bathroom, which made me […] have very unhygienic image of the room despite it probably been cleaned to high standards, but those sort of little things can leave impression, that one would not want to have, of such a good place to stay over when in Edinburgh. Lisez la suite
"Great location"
The location is right in the middle of Edinburgh, it could not be more convenient. The hotel was quite nice, we got one of the renovated rooms and it was fine. They were a little small but we didnt spend much time in the room anyways. If I ever went back to Edinburgh then I would stay there again.
"The Royal British Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland"
This hotel is amazingly close to the train station, so no cab fare is necessary; the hotel as excellent views of Edinburgh, the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh Castle and other iconic monuments. You're only 5 minutes from shops, pubs, clubs, and Calton Hill; only a block away from the Royal Mile and a 15 min. walk to the big castle. The rooms are renovated, […] with excellent and new bathrooms, flat screens, and comfortable surrounding. An excellent value for the location and accommodations. I was here on a business trip layover, but I would definitely recommend this hotel for any leisure or business trip. Lisez la suite
"Hotel experience"
Hotel great for proximity to airlink bus, Waverly train station and city tours. Also walkable around town. Hotel it self, bathroom, smelt musty, shower could not lower, so had it in my face, one twin bed, so shaky had to move to other. Sheets clean, but slightest movement, bed becomes a mess. Breakfast expensive. It is a budget for UK standards, a previous […] grand hotel but nowadays tired and needs updating, But ok for price and being out and having a place to sleep. Lisez la suite
"Simple but fine"
Stayed here for a few days during the week in Sept. Nothing flash, very basic, but did the job. Considering I had a room facing Princes street it wasn't that noisy at all - must be because it's shut due to tram works. I'd recommend this for a short stay because it's convenient and central and very well priced.

If going in by rail STAY here. Very close to attractions Mall and Rail station
"Royal British Hotel in Edinburgh - Very central"
Very friendly staff. The room was huge with a king size bed and enormous bathroom. Would definitely use this hotel again.
"Royal British Hotel"
Loved the location of the hotel -- right on Princes Street in the heart of the action. A little difficult to get to the lobby since you have to either climb stairs or find the lift. Lobby area was a little tired but the room was very up-to-date and comfortable. On the floor where we stayed, we had to climb up and down about 12 stairs to get to our room […] which made luggage moval a little difficult. There was no printer available to print off boarding passes but, all in all, if we return to Edinburgh, we would stay here again because of the location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. "Perfect for the price"
As a fringe performer from SF, this hotel was in a great location, clean, affordable and convenient for my stay.
"Great location, Hotel is an old friend"
I love the Royal British. It's not the most modern in decor but it does what it does with a style and dependability and competence that is largely forgotten in the impersonal modern hotels around it.
"Great location, good service but very hot rooms!"
Stayed here for three nights at the end of July for a long weekend and the location could not have been better with great rates from booking through hotels.com. Didn't spend very much time in the room, although it was a lovely, if a little small, room. Only downside was that the room was incredibly warm and stuffy even with the windows open. We had […] to ask for a fan to have in the room and even still it was very hard to sleep. All in all though it was very reasonable for what we got. Lisez la suite

The hotel is ideally located but needs maintenance. I feel a refurbishing would do wonders.

"Good Edinburgh Hoel"
The Royal British Hotel is a well located and affordable place to stay in Central Edinburgh. One cannot ask for a better location from a tourist's point of view. The hotel has been efficiently modernized and is quite comfortable for a couple who graduated from High School in 1961. We didn't use the food service because it didn't quite fit our plans, […] but it appeared to be very adequate. The view from the front of the Lounge at sunset was truly incredible on a clear day. Overall we were extremely pleased with this modest but very comfortable hotel. Lisez la suite
"Royal British is great value"
had a great nights stay here - they have done it up since i was last there so it is even better value for money. Fantastic location as well and very friendly service.
"Royal British Hotel-Edinbrough"
I have stayed in the Royal British Hotel f with cold tor one night. My only concern is the hot water was extremely hot. I nearly missed my flight because I spent a considerable time trying to just the hot and cold water.
