Best Western Truman Inn - Independence

The room was comfortable and clean; the breakfast was ample. We were close to downtown KC by way of expressways and close proximity to the Truman Library. If we went to KC to see sites again, we would stay at this motel. Very pleasant folks to deal with -- the day manager was great.

The room was very nice and the price was nice as well. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. The only small complaint, is having frozen burritos for breakfast. I know it's not suppose to be a full meal, but those aren't the greatest breakfast. Overall the motel is a very nice place and did not smell of smoke AT ALL! In some motels you can ask for […] a non-smoking room and still the hall ways smell of smoke. Plan on staying here again next year. Lisez la suite

Very pleased with my stay! except i was very upset when I found that my point did not appyl!.

Very small room, with no fridge or micro. A bit disappointed with a best western hotel being so small and so ill equipped and the complimentary breakfast left a lot to be disered. Will not return next year.

have stayed here many times to go to chiefs games and it is a great place to stay, close to everything. stores, food and the highway.

The staff was excellent, helpful and friendly. The room was filled with small touches that you dont often see in a lower priced motel. You can tell from these touches that the staff is truly commited to providing excellent customer service.

Pleasingly surprised. Comfy bed! Close to freeway but not noisy. Accepts smaller pets! Nice breakfast selection, too. Clean and updated.

Excellent hotel for the money paid.

Centrally located with wi-fi. Nice motel value.

the hotel met all of our qualifications, we really enjoyed our stay and was a perfect stop on our way to St Louis

The motel was nice. You can tell it is older and may need work here and there, but it was clean and the pool was nice. I don't think it is a heated pool though. Yes, we would stay there again and I would recommend it to other.

This hotel is very worth the money!!! I stayed at a hotel twice as much and it was not as nice as this one. This Best Western is very nice and Im picky when it comes to hotels. I usually am not a cheap chain hotel person but this blew me away!!!! Breakfast was great, had an assortment of waffles, toast, cereal, bagels, donuts, burritos, oatmeal. We really liked this BW. The staff was really friendly and helpful, it was a quiet hotel, our room was very clean and in great condition. The hotel itself is looking a little old, but there were maintenance people working on it, which is a good sign. The showerhead was high up, so I didn't have to crouch to get under it (one of my pet peeves about hotels), […] and had different spray settings--nice! The outdoor pool isn't heated, and is surrounded by trees and bushes so there's always leaves, etc floating in it. Other than that, it was great. I have stayed at this Motel once before, and find it very convenient to the interstate and getting to local attractons. The only issue I have with the room, was the carpet was dirty, cause me socks i was wearing got dirty walking around the room, Maybe because this room gets used alot since it was closet to the lobby. I stayed for three nights at the Truman Inn. We had requested a handicapped access double room to accomodate my mother who has difficulty with steps and bathtubs. I felt the room was perfectly adequate, nicely decorated, but anyone in a wheelchair would not be able to move around the beds which were quite close together and close to the wall. The bathroom […] was open and large, but there was a bathtub with a stool in it and the tub had the normal high sides. My mother was unable to get into the tub for a shower. I think the hotel should consider changing it's two handicapped accessable rooms from tubs to walk in showers. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included had the usual offerings of cereal, donuts, breads to toast, and bagels. There was also fresh fruit, boiled eggs, microwave breakfast burritos, and a waffle maker. Unfortunately the entire time we were there it was raining. My pillows were perhaps musty- I'd sneeze every time I layed back on them- so I finally covered them with a towel which seemed to lessen my allergic response. The room was very clean, well stocked with towels and washclothes, had an iron and ironing board, and laundry bags were available for laundry service. Needed a cheap place to stay for a last minute family visit. Room was clean and quiet. Free wi-fi, breakfast (waffles, yogurt, juice, etc...), and you can print and use the lobby computer at no charge. Overall, everything I expected. Nothing glamorous, but served its function well.

Older TV; bed too soft; bathroom tissue flimsy. Good location, decent breakfast.
