Principale ville de la Côte d'Azur, Nice est célèbre pour ses magasins de luxe et sa culture avant-gardiste. La Promenade des Anglais bordée de palmiers suit les plages de galets de la Baie des Anges, le long d'hôtels huppés et d'un casino. Plus haut, les ruelles pittoresques du vieux Nice mènent à des églises baroques. Le quartier chic de Cimiez dispose de vestiges romains et de deux excellents musées d'art moderne. Le carnaval attire de nombreux visiteurs, tout comme le Nice Jazz Festival, qui a lieu en juillet.

"Service de qualité"
Cet hôtel ayant bénéficié de la nouvelle loi sur l'hôtellerie est classé, désormais, 4 étoiles. Il les vaut pour l'accueil, la qualité des prestations et du bâtiment en général et du solarium sur le toit terrasse (d'un confort absolu) par contre un gros bémol sur l'insonorisation des chambres (vos voisins semblent être chez vous) et la climatisation […] qui est assez bruyante. L'hôtel est idéalement situé en plein coeur de Nice à deux pas des rues Jean Médecin et Massena ce qui sous-entend un grand confort pour vous restaurer, ou pour sortir prendre un verre. Vous êtes à moins de 5 minutes à pied de la Grande Bleue. Le personnel est très attentif à vos demandes et votre confort (quelques rares personnes sont assez peu aimables). "Hôtel Mercure-Grimaldi proche du vieux Nice"
Aspect extérieur TB; accueil excellent, personnalisé, conseils judicieux (gare, commerces, petit sac de "découvertes", restaurants, ...) Chambre silencieuse mais pas très fraîche (peinturesdes murs défraîchie, traces de souliers bas des murs, tapis-plain à remplacer d'urgence tant il est sâle (nous n'osions pas marcher sans souliers ou pantouffles...,) […] pas assez d'espaces de rangement, petit frigo non garni,...) Par contre, possibilté de faire un petit café et une bouteille d'eau offerte > TB! Salle de bain spacieuse et chaude mais rideau de douche "jauni" dans le bas,... Linge parfaitement propre, draps changés tous les jours mais oreillers de très mauvaise qualité (synthétiques), matelas correct. Petit-déjeuner parfait (rien à dire). It's in a great location, not too far from the airport, near all the main attractions, and there's a supermarket just round the corner, which is great. "Group of Friends"

"Fabulous Staff and Fantastic Location"
The hotel is in a fantastic location, near old town and the Promenade des Anglais. It's just that bit back from the main streets so there was no noise coming from the traffic or loud passers by. The room was standard, everything you need for sleeping and washing. The one selling point for us were the staff. They really were brilliant. We had an issue […] on the 2nd day where there were problems with our toilet plumbing so they quickly sent up their handyman and moved us into another room. They even left a note the next day to say sorry for the inconvenience. Although we hardly noticed the problem because it was dealt with so efficiently! "Good location and the price"
The location of the hotel is great, it is 2 blocks away from the beach, next to the shopping street, restaurants, old town, tram station and 2 blocks away from the bus stop to the airport, 8min walk to the train station. On the map everything seems much further. When you walk to the first street with restaraunts, do not miss Italian gelateria "The Amorino", […] it is the best gelato I've had in my life (even better than in Italy). The hotel itself looks 4-star and very clean. The staff at the front desk is awesome and speaks very good English! Unfortunately, the promo rooms are not of a 4-star quality, it is a maximum 3-star (comparing to promo rooms at other 4-star hotels in France and Europe). The room that we got was very small with broken lamp cap and chipped paint on the bathroom door. When we checked into the room, there was someone's hair in the bathroom that was not cleaned by a maid the next day either (the maid service was not that great but when we asked the front desk, everything was corrected immidiately#. The walls in our room was not sound-proof, every morning around 7am I woke up from the lound sound of running water in the room #actually it was a neighbor taking the shower#. There is no air conditioner in the room #at least that vent did not cool down the room below 20C#, only the heater. I had a very pleasant stay in the Mercure Nice Grimaldi. The room was very clean and very comfortable, the bed especially and i like to have a duvet not blankets. The other room features i liked were a kettle to make hot drinks and a small fridge(not so small to be of any use) with a complimentary bottle of water, to keep food/drink i had purchased […] cool. Brilliant idea. The roof terrace was a relaxing area to enjoy some spring sunshine. The only negatives were that some of the bathroom fittings were a bit tired looking, but worked perfectly well. "VERY GOOD, more the expected..."
Really enjoyed Nice and the Mercure Grimaldi. Was in Italy and France for two weeks Aug 1-14th and was in Nice for 3 nights. Had a great time. The hotel is close to beach and shopping/restaurants but not so close it's annoying. Quick 2 min walk to shopping beach is only 5-10max. Hotel has a mini fridge and there is a grocery store litterally right outside […] the door which is so handy for cheap breaky and beer/wine. Room is a little dated but was probably the biggest room we stayed in on our two week holiday in Europe. AC worked well. Carpet is old and needs torn up but that was our ONLY thing we didn't like. Hotel was expensive and we thought would be pretty decent but we turned up to find a tiny dated bedroom that looked like it had been subdivided from the room adjacent to squeeze another room out. The location of the hotel is absolutely spot on, near all the night life and shops. We went away for my 40th with 6 other couples, some were pleased with there rooms, others not so pleased. The one's that weren't so pleased had mould round the frosted bathroom window, tiny room with no mirrors in it apart from the bathroom which is not great when drying […] your hair! Paint round door frames in sum of the rooms was chipped and could have done with a lick of paint. In all rooms were really clean and to be fair you don't spend much time in the rooms anyway. "Bra frukost och takterass"
Grimaldi ligger bara några kvarter från stranden och på promenadavstånd från shopping, gamla stan och centralstation. Rummen är fräscha och tillräckligt stora för två. Våra två ungdomar bodde i eget rum. Vi bodde i prioritet-rum vilken innebar morgonrock, tofflor och fria alkoholfria drycker i kylen. Frukosten var mycket bra men är ganska dyr om den […] inte ingår i priset. Det finns en fin takterass med en utomhusdusch. Utsikten är mindre imponerande. Det finns bra snabbköp bredvid hotellet och i närheten. Utbudet av restauranger är också stort i närheten av hotellet. Det uppstod en diskussion vid utcheckningen om att frukost ingick i det ena rummet men inte i det andra vilket gjorde oss upprörda. Det löste sig efter uppvisande av dokument från Hotels.com och avstämning med kontoret.
