I got there at 8 pm. I was passing though marquette and thought the photos look nice and the price was really good. My wife and I checked in then I went to the room. As I walked in the room it had a smell that was like it wasn't open for a time. The room had one window anddoor that leads to the same hallway. The pool water was cold.I tasted mold Iin the air and my wife pointed out something that looked like white mold. After at pool foe 10 min we went back to the room th call hotels.com to see about changeing hotels and the room phone was dead went to the front desk. The guy there came to the room and tried to fix the phone all he did was unplug it the plug it in again. After he couldn't fix it he said I can use the phone at the front desk. I went there to make first call to set up a cell phone I went to get the hotels.com phone number and got back there at 10:15 and the office was closed. We went to bed then since I would be on the rooD early. My son got up at 4 am and we left. We couldn't stay anylonger so we were our by 6am. The only complaint I have is that the pool wasn't open... chemical imbalance. Other than that, my room was great. Staff was awesome and friendly. Breakfast waffles were a nice touch. I was offered a discount for later stays since the pool wasn't open. Others got a deal as they checked in, but I booked on-line. I was visiting family in Ishpeming, so […] the distance wasn't the best for that, but the location is wonderful. Stores, McDonald's plus other food options, gas station, all right there. Right across the street! They had construction going on, but I think that'll only make it better. If Marquette is your destination.... it is worth the short travel time to downtown. Very lovely! I stayed here four years ago and one of the staff even remembered me! My children had fun in the pool and we had a very quiet stay. The waffles in the breakfast area were delicious!

The hotel is being remodeled and refurbished. We had one of the newer rooms with a VERY comfortable bed. The WiFi worked well as did the cable TV. We did not use the pool, but the water looked very clear and clean.

This is not my first stay at this hotel. In my opinion, this hotel seems to continue to go downhill. The first thing I noticed when we walked in there was a sign that said, Please excuse our construction. That should be disclosed when booking a hotel. I immediately asked the clerk , please tell me that does not include the pool. She said no. They worked […] on the pool earlier today. We arrived in the late afternoon. It was snowing when we arrived. By the time we checked in and unpacked we ended up snowed in because the parking lot was not plowed. I have 2 small children, we ordered pizza and planned to spend the night at the pool. The pool was freezing. My 4 year and 7 year old would not swim do to the water temperature. We ended up stuck in a very small room for the evening after a 6 hour drive. The rooms are not fancy and do not feel clean. There is no elevator to get to the second floor so luggage needs to be carried up and down stairs. Maybe the current "renovations" will bring new light to this hotel in the future, but I don't believe my family will take the time to give America's Best another chance. Lisez la suite

We visit relatives every year and stay at this hotel. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Had a restful nights sleep. Breakfast could use a bit more variety like maybe fruit and yogurt. All in all very nice and resonable stay.

Clean room, comfortable beds and service was good. In fact we were upgraded to a room with microwave and a jetted tub. Room was a little small for 2 beds but just the 2 of us it was OK. The location wasn't the greatest, would like to have been closer to shopping. Breakfast was good in the morning. We Will likely stay there again.

We were in Marquette to look at NMU with our son, if he choses to go to this school we will never stay at this hotel when we come to visit. The beds were old, uncomfortabe and very squeeky. The room smelled stale and musty. There was a security light that was pointed right at the window so even with the water stained curtain pulled shut, it was still […] too bright in the room for sleeping. My husband called the night attendant to ask if there was something they could do or if it could be shut off and was told "I don't know what to tell you". The drain on both the sink and the shower/tub were slow to drain so you end up showering in standing water. Even though there were only 3-4 cars in the parking lot, they were out of coffee when we went to breakfast in the morning, we had to go ask at the front desk to get more made. The friendly, accommodating staff and value for the price balanced off the deficiencies in the room itself. Believe we got what we paid for which was less than competitors. TV and Internet reception was terrible. Room was clean, quiet and bed comfortable. Breakfast was fine. The exterior appearance is old, drab and uninviting. Many small maintenance issues could have made it more attractive.

One of the most underrated hotel I've ever been to. The outside of the building looked a little shady, but dont let that scare you away!!!! the building is very clean, the pool and jacuzzi are also very nice and clean. we had room 120 and the water pipes made a banging knocking noise every 10 minutes and kept us up all night...it was very clean and outer doors were locked at nite we felt safe and we had a nice deck out back to smoke on a nice complimentary breakfast the staff was excellent and friendly and made our stay nice...we would return to this motel again but […] not room 120 lol...a very pleasant and super clean motel! While the hotel was a few miles out of town, it is accessible enough, being right at the corner of two major roads. There is a grocery store and a McDonald's right there, so if you have to pick up something quickly, you don't have to go out of your way to do so. The hotel itself felt slightly dated, however, it was easy enough to navigate. It did not […] feel overly well-maintained, and I ran across a few bugs inside during my stay. The front desk staff was friendly. The room itself was comfortable but basic. The free Wi-Fi that was available was spotty at best. Rather than an open network or a single wi-fi password for each room, we had to be issued a different wi-fi password for each device. We requested two. One didn't work at all, and one prompted you to re-enter the password every 30 seconds or so. My biggest complaint about the room itself was the window. The blackout curtains for the window hung a good inch or two away from the wall, allowing light to spill through the edges. This wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the extremely bright spotlight that shines directly into the window at night, causing an eerie orange glow to seep into the room, which was distracting from sleep. The breakfast room was very small and had fairly basic offerings, we just ended up doing McDonald's for breakfast. All in all, this is an alright hotel for the budget-minded traveler, although if I return in the future, I might look for something else closer to town instead. Lisez la suite
