The Chinese quarter lies only a few blocks away and the main tube-station stands right at the corner. Really nice. My only critic: the Internet connection is not free (and even quite expansive). I travel quite a lot in hotels of equivalent or slightly higher standards and this is not acceptable. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

As a 3 star hotel you should have no complaints. But it certainly does not tick all the boxes as a 4 star. Not a large hotel but little areas to relax and Breakfast was not a patch on other 4 star hotels in Singapore. Saving grace was the deluxe bedroom, although not large was in good condition. Very reasonable rate for the overnight including breakfast. Hotel staff also tried to get the room available earlier than stated as we arrived in the morning. We had a bonus of a late check out until 3.00pm.This was very useful as we did not fly out until 6.00pm that night so we were able to go out through the day and then return to hotel for shower […] before flight. given. Everything about the Elizabeth is fantastic. First, they checked us in much earlier than the usual 2pm. AT NO EXTRA COST. The location was the next surprise. A walk down a short slope and you're in middle of Orchard. Another short walk across from the hotel gets you to the famed Scott's road. Housekeeping was so polite and pre-emptive. We spent 10 days there as we were visiting family. The new Executive suites are nicely decorated and it was a comfortable room. The bathroom, though small, felt much larger and more spacious than it actually is, due to the glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom. It does have a pull down screen if greater privacy is required. We had a newspaper […] delivered to our room daily - nice touch - and our toiletries were replenished everyday. So too the fresh towels, toweling robes and slippers. The minibar was also included in the cost of the room and was replenished on a daily basis. It has some beer and soft drinks in. For Singapore the Elizabeth is ageing a bit, it has seen its best and is now hanging on I think.. Cheaper prices are for the unrefurbished rooms on top flor, these are very tired, stainec carpets, old furniture, some lights didnt work, generaly n need of refurbishment. There are better rooms but at a higher price. Service was excellent, small pool is […] nice, restaurant is a Modesto's so Ok. Location is close to Orchard road, taxis easy to come by, near Orchard Road MRT, but a 5 minute walk up the hill, so if unfit think again. Internet access free on deal I got and good speed. Breakfast, OK, not with the best , but for price a good range of food, and very good service. On a budget its a good deal, but it was a little shabby that I felt in end I could have got better, but may have had to pay a little more. If you want top notch, others better.
