"Value for money accommodation"
Our family of four adults shared a loft room in April, and, although on the small side and obviously lacking the fit out of a 4 star hotel, the room was clean, the bed comfortable and service immediate when we had a blocked toilet. The tram stop close by provided easy access to the city, French Quarter, and through the Garden district and there were restaurants within easy walking distance. One tip - be prepared for many stairs with your luggage.

"Too cute + FREE PARKING!!"
We stayed here on a multi-state road trip and it was quite possibly the best of our bargain stays! The property looks like it was formerly a historic garden distric home, so it definitely has charm and character. Despite it's age, it's also well kept and clean. Most importantly, they have FREE and ample parking in their own lot. Unlike most hotes in the French Quarter, where you're likely to spend an extra $20-$30/day on hotel parking...

"More to NOLA than the French Quarter"
Great introduction to a less touristy part of New Orleans. Local pubs and restaurants are great and lovely people in the neighbourhood. Real easy to get to French Qtr via the St Charles streetcar. Cheap by taxi too. Christine at front desk was super helpful with recommendations and making tour bookings for us. Shower room was a little tired and location of our room was right next to the outdoor breakfast bar so was noisy in the morning. Ask for a quieter location if this would be a problem.

"Great for a pre race stay"
This hotel was great for our 2 night stay for the CCC10K. The room had a microwave and fridge. There were 2 sinks; one inside the bathroom, one just outside. The bed was comfy and the AC worked well. My single complaint is that our room backed up to Prytania Street. It is not a busy street, but there is regular traffic on it. I never knew how loud a car driving down the street at 30 mph was until I tried to sleep right next to it. Bring earplugs and you'll sleep well. It is very close to the St Charles streetcar line, but we ended up walking to the race start and even to the French Quarter. Parking was great.

"Reasonably priced hotel in Garden District"
Our first time to stay at Prytania Park Hotel, and I would definitely go back or try one of the other two properties by the same owners. Convenient to walk to the street car, or drive to uptown restaurants or the French Quarter. The room was nice and comfortable, and while the continental breakfast was nothing special, a few nibbles tided us over until we got to Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee.

"It's okay I guess??"
This hotel was not what I expected when I drove up. From the pictures I never realized that the rooms were accessed from outside. The rooms were very clean and comfy but I wished access to the rooms were inside instead of outside. We stayed on the 2nd floor and to get up to it we were walking on wood deck floors that seemed to be in bad shape. The breakfast was also not good. Frozen waffles cereal nothing hot and it too was served outside!!! I probably will not go back.

"Great local - unique place!"
What a great hotel! I was in Town for a convention and decided to stay in a local hotel vs the big chains. The location was perfect - within a short walk to the convention center and close to the trolley line. Hotel had a lot of character and the bed super comfortable. My room had the loft bed which I tried but wasn't thrilled with the spiral stairs coming down. But still cool. I was only in town 3 nights but plan in returning to take in the city - and this is where I will stay. I don't like continental breakfasts - just my thing - but plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance. Great location. Unique hotel. :-)

We drove in parking lot. There was an abandoned looking house next door, trailer full of debris And really old Cadillac car almost blocking entrance to parking lot. Checked in and on way to room we walked through a courtyard full of smokers. No other way to room. Got to room, card key wouldn't open door. Had to go back to office to get new keys. Hotel room actually comfortable. We were awaken at 0100 by a drunken girl screaming on phone outside door. Free breakfast served outside in courtyard in open area with multiple people smoking all around. No family's with children please. Would only recommend to couples and singles looking at sights.

"We will stay somewhere else next time."
Reason we chose Prytania Park: We were in town for Sugar Bowl and all major hotels were either sold out or very expensive. I needed a hotel that was close enough to the Superdome for my son and I to walk. Location: The hotel is one block from St Charles and about two blocks down from a trolley stop. There are a couple of good restaurants within a block or two. These few blocks are open and fairly well-travelled. Very convenient. To get to the Superdome or the Quarter, though, you have walk under the interstate and through a stretch of St Charles that would make some very uncomfortable - particularly at night. Parking: Free and parking lot seems safe. Great value. Rooms: Decent size and pretty clean. The bed was very uncomfortable. Noise: WAY, WAY, WAY too much noise. Whatever you do, do not stay on the 1st Floor. We could hear everything in the room above ours. When they came in at night, each step pounded on our ceiling, waking us up. When they got up to use the bathroom, it woke us up. We could even hear the handles on their dresser rattle when they used them. There was a great deal of noise from the outside as well. It's hard to put into words how loud it was. I've never appreciated how quiet a Holiday Inn is until this trip. I'm guessing that the top floor would be better, but can't say. Staff: Very mixed experience. We had "super helpful" one time, "couldn't care less" once, and "fine" once.

"Great location in Garden District"
My husband and I took our 4 kids (ages 14-20) to New Orleans for a weekend trip and reserved 2 of the double rooms where there is a queen bed on the bottom and another queen (or 2 twins) in the above loft. The kids (even though they are "older" kids) loved it- they thought it was cool, and hip and loved the area as it is so close to everything. It is an older establishment hence the affordability, but very clean and the staff could not have been nicer. The breakfast is somewhat limited but most people (unless you are like me and have food allergies to gluten) should be able to find something that will suffice (no eggs or anything really hot unless you count toast/bagels- just cereals, yogurts, etc.- but lots of it). Would definitely stay there again

"Quiet hotel in Garden District"
Had a wonderful stay at the Prytania Park hotel with my husband and daughter. We booked the queen loft room which my daughter really enjoyed as she had her own space. Hotel is older, boutique style and very charming. Front desk staff was very helpful, and there are plenty of wonderful places for lunch/dinner on magazine street which is less than 3/4 mile away.

The room layout was really pretty good considering we had 4 people in the room. Still, it was a bit snug. They could use a better breakfast facility. "First trip to New Orleans"
Perfect location, a 1 block walk to fine and casual dining, the trolley and Walgreen's. The room is more like a bed and breakfast instead of a hotel. The room was clean and the room service was exceptional. The bed and pillows were very comfy. The only problem was the sheet continued to come off one corner of the bed, and the marble sink area in the entry was cracked. I will stay at this hotel every time I go to New Orleans.

I stay here every time I'm in New Orleans. The location is great and the parking is free. The staff is friendly and I like it not being a 'big chain hotel'... The breakfast isn't super hearty but if you've been hitting NOLA restaurants like I do when I'm there? A light breakfast is just fine.

"Garden District Convenience"
The Prytania is very conveniently located just a block from St. Charles. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance as well. The room is okay. At first the idea of a loft was novel but going up and down the spiral staircase got tiresome quickly. The rooms are small but comfortable enough. It's not the place to stay if you plan on just lounging around but if you intend to spend more time out in the city than in a room, it's a good place to stay.
