overall-nice. But, the website doesnt say that there is ONLY stairs to the upstair floors. We went with 2 seniors and it was very difficult for them.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Good accommodations for the price."
Hotel was convenient. Overall, fairly comfortable. The bathroom was a little tight. Had to step into the shower to close the door and use the toilet. Sink was cracked. Breakfast was good.Avis certifié Expedia
Enjoyed being able to walk or use public transportation to serve our needs. We were close to museums and nice dining places were a short walk. The hotel was clean and adequate and priced fairly.Avis certifié Expedia
"Great Hotel for Visiting New Orleans"
This is a nice hotel with nice staff. The layout of the hotel is different from traditional ones since it has relatively open-air walkways and hallways with nice wooden skylights. We had a Junior Suite with a balcony and were able to enjoy the sun and moonlight. The hotel is away from the French Quarters which makes it even better (less touristy), but […] is right by the Street Car to easily get to downtown area. The surrounding neighborhoods are beautiful and as you continue to walk down St. Charles, the houses get fancier and fancier. There is a park right behind the hotel and a great 24 hour bar, Lucky's, on the other side of St. Charles. Great times. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
Hotel staff was very courteous. There was no TV in loft area. The bed pillows need to be replaced. Other than those issues we were vey satisfied with the hotel.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"First visit to New Orleans"
Prytania Park hotel is interestingly different. It is in the Garden District and walkable to the French Quarter (also close to the Charles St. trolley which saves the feet). Check in and out were smooth. Room is accessed via inside courtyard, to which all rooms open. AC units 'empty' there- hot air and condensate. The room was small, but serviceable. […] Bed is comfortable, and bathroom is dated but adequate. Room was clean. Our room faced Prytania St., but street noise was not an issue. Breakfast was free and served in the courtyard. Food was fine, but seating can be limited. Off street parking and WiFi are free. Hotel offered good value compared to others nearby. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
Easy access to public transport (trolley), restaurants, parks, tourist attractions. Very small rooms, but quaint New Orleans charm to it. Very helpful front desk personnel. Be aware, no elevators as it is an historically old structure. Outdoor breakfast tables in the small "nooks" in and around the stairwell and covered sidewalks to the rooms; another […] touch of New Orleans charm. Great parking compared to many places in New Orleans. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

"Good accommodations for the price."
My husband and I stayed at the Prytania Park Hotel for 3 nights. The location was great...close to shops, dining, and the trolley line. We walked around everywhere even at night and never felt it was an unsafe area. The only negatives I would mention is that there was no ventilation in the bathroom so it got very hot/stuffy when bathing and the breakfast […] wasn't much. The internet was also pretty slow so when we tried to watch a show online it would often stop because the internet needed to catch up. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
Great location. Hotel really "feels" like old New Orleans. Clean and nice breakfast in courtyard.Avis certifié Expedia
"Clharming rooms with convienient location"
The hotel was charming ane the staff was very accomidating. The ample free parking was antother great perk. The hotel is located close to all of the must see sights with the cable car stop less than two blocks away. We would definatly return for another stay.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"close to street car"
the hotel is older but we were very satisfied with our room....it was clean, had a refrig, microwave, and nice big counter in the bath area.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"close to quarters"
bad area, not clean outside etc. nothing else to sayAvis certifié Expedia
I give it an average review because it was in fact average. There is nothing bad about this hotel but also nothing wowed me.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Clean room. Old, but a neat place to stay. The girl at the desk wasn't very friendly.Avis certifié Hotels.com
I enjoyed this hotel quite a bit. It was clean and neat. The beds were super comfy and the ac worked well. It was in a great location to catch the St Charles trolley to get to the French Quarter. Though the location has several restaurants and bars within walking distance. The only thing that was annoying was in the morning when people were getting […] up. When the doors close they bang close and it is extremely loud. It woke me up consistently every morning and was a constant bang as people went out and in for the breakfast in the courtyard. I am a very light sleeper though. It did not bother my husband. Overall I would definitely stay again. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
the hotel staff was fantastic... rooms were old but ok... no pool or elevator to the 2nd floor. But loved the locationAvis certifié Hotels.com
This hotel is tucked away in a business and residential area in the garden district. It felt as if we were living in the neighborhood. This was a pleasant change from the big name hotel chains. The parking was free and our van stayed parked most of the time during our 4 night stay. One evening my husband and I went on a walking tour in the neighborhood […] to see some of the mansions. We bought public transportation passes and rode the street cars to most of the attractions, which was a great experience. We also went to the French Quarter and Harrah's Casino. On our return to the hotel at night, the streets seemed a little eerie, but no matter where or what city you are in, always be aware of your surroundings day or night. Overall, I strongly suggest this hotel because of it's location and free parking. Make sure you read the fine print during the Mardi Gras season. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Great hotel for a short break"
This hotel was very conveniently located outside of the main noisy area of New Orleans. A five minute walk to the tram stop and a 10 minute ride into town and you are then close to all the major tourist areas. Take a Mississippi river cruise on the Natchez steamboat for a relaxing and very informative 2 hour ride. Avoid the open air Jazz club/restaurant […] on Bourbon Street. The food and service were very poor. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Good value for short stay"
Hotel itself was great! Neighborhood OK if you have a car -- not pleasant for walking around -- not much near by.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Very good overall value and location, downtown easily accessible by car or street car. Close to shopping and dining on Magazine Street.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Great location in the garden district"
Great location in the garden district. The street car is a minute walk, it will take you right to the French quarts under 5 mins. The hotel is located near great eatery's and shopping :)Avis certifié Expedia
"My stay at Prytania Park"
I always stay at Prytania Park when I'm in New Orleans. The people on the front desk are always friendly and professional. The rooms are comfy and clean. It's a 2 minute walk to St Charles Ave and the Street Car, it only takes 10 minutes to get to Canal Street.Avis certifié Expedia
"cross country move"
spent a couple of days in NOLA while moving cross country. Hotel was in great location with fairly good access to the city. Was able to easily travel to the quarter, treme, garden, and uptown. "If you're looking for a nice clean room, don't stay here."
The hotel room was #225. It was one of the loft rooms. The grounds were dirty, but we figured it was outside and since there were mostly good reviews we would try it. As we walked into the room we immediately noticed the stains on the chairs from some sort of liquid, the plate that held the bathroom vent knob was falling off the wall, the tissue box […] cover was rusted, there were cobwebs in the bathroom, the tub was filthy, the carpet looks as if it has never been cleaned, there was a hole surrounding the ceiling fan, and everything had dust all over it. The bed covering had some sort of marking on it, and it just didn't smell clean. The sheets as well as the towels didn't smell clean either. We were all extremely tired since we had been driving for 8 hours and just wanted a nice quirky hotel in New Orleans. It's place was disgusting. I don't know who is writing the good reviews, but it can't be from people that have stayed here. Since we were so tired, we thought we could suffer and just stay there, but then realized we wouldn't be comfortable in such a filthy room, so we called another hotel at 1am, packed our stuff and got out of there so we could get one sleep for more driving the next day. I know this place is convenient and they offer free parking, free wi-fi, and a continental breakfast, but we felt so gross sitting in there we didn't care what we had to pay at another hotel just to get out of there. I would never stay there again even if it was free. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
Love it! Great - free parking. I stay here every time I visit New Orleans.Avis certifié Expedia
Daughter left her cell phone. They called my cell and home right away. They mailed the phone to us right away. Top notch. Great value notice free parking, one block from St. Charles trolley. A little park adjacent if you need to walk a dog or let a toddler run around a little. Room comfortable and fun with the loft and spiral staircase. Not a large […] room--this is not a luxury hotel--but plenty of counter space and stowage under the counter. Everything in good repair and functional. Breakfast is modest but nicely served al fresco and it will certainly hold you until you get to those beignets or big ol' po boy lunch or whatever you have in mind. There are some fast food joints a block or two away if you like that kind of thing and also a CVS right nearby. And plenty of restaurants/bars within walking distance. Again the trolley is right there and will take you all over to the Garden District, cemeteries, the Quarter, etc so leave your car parked. If there is a better value in modest price hotel in N.O. show me. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
We stayed in a room with a lift and it was very comfortable, very homey:-)Avis certifié Expedia
When booking a hotel in New Orleans, remember that you will usually have to pay $25-$35 a night to park your car, even if it is self-park. The Prytania is rare in that it has it's own parking lot and free parking. That makes it a very good value.Avis certifié Hotels.com
We had a double bed room, which includes a loft with stairs. Clean room, WiFi did not have a very good signal, but worked for the laptop.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Loved the area. It is quiet and beautiful, however, it is near St. Charles Street with lots of restaurants and stores.Avis certifié Expedia
"Clean, Close to sights and transportation"
This was a good pick for us. One block from St. Charles trolley. Also had good eateries in the area. We had a problem with the hot/cold on our sink, they fixed it immediately. They had free parking!!Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Exactly what we were looking for"
My best friend and I met up in NOLA for a few days of fun before she went back overseas to work. We're to old to hit Bourbon St. every night so staying in the Garden District was perfect. The street car (that runs 24/7) was 5 minutes away and it took us everywhere we wanted to go. I recomend this hotel to everyone who is looking for a middle ground […] hotel ( not to fancy but not to shady). Free parking, free wi-fi, free breakfast (not much variety :o) I loved the loft bed too. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

"Great place to stay!"
Overall, we were very pleased with out stay. The location is great and there are a lot of places to walk to, the room was clean, and the free parking was nice to have. The only complaint is that the air conditioning was not turned on when we first got to the room, and on a 90 degree day, it was quite uncomfortable while trying to shower and get ready […] for dinner. "Good value for the price."
Prytania Park Hotel is in a very good location in the Lower Garden District. The rooms have comfortable beds, and the window treatment allows for blocking virtually all outside light, which is good for people bothered by excessive light entering a room during sleep hours. If you have any mobility problems, or difficulty climbing stairs, by all means […] request a 1st floor room as you will have to climb and descend stairs regularly if you are on the 2nd floor. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, and with free parking, you can access both downtown N. O. and uptown with equal ease in your vehicle. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Convient to what we wanted to visit in New Orleans"
The location was great. The price was a true savings. The facility was clean and quiet. We enjoyed the stay very much. I have already passed the name on for friends to consider when they travel to New Orleans. We would definitely contact the hotel for reservations if we should travel to New Orleans again. The parking was convient and free a big plus […] for downtown New Orleans. "5th time around"
This is my 5th time here. I like the fact that the St Charles trolley is a few steps away. There are several eateries within a stone throw of the hotel. Best of all parking is FREE and there is security on site in the evenings.Avis certifié Hotels.com
The hotel was in a great location and had free parking. The hotel is old and had a moldy smell to it. Maybe it was the carpet. Either way if there was no smell I would rate it a 5 across the board.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location. Love the ro set-up with the loft!Avis certifié Expedia
"Feels like a Convent"
The hotel may be in the Garden district but it has the feel of an early 20th century convent. The rooms are cozy and you felt you were right on the street. Everything was neat, just antique and not in an elegant way. The morning breakfast was OK and the coffee was plentiful and tasty. Although the property is advertised as non-smoking, this apparently […] is only in the rooms so the courtyard was crowded with smokers. Not appealing. The location was convenient to St Charles Avenue eateries and the front desk was helpful in giving us a card for a free dessert. Overall an acceptable experience but I would not choose to return given choices. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia

"Very convenient to our destination"
The hotel was only a few minutes away from the university we were visting - could not have been more convenient. Also a shortwalk to the streetcar that gets you anywhere in the CBD. "Great for the price and location."
This hotel is in a great location. Close to the trolley so it is easy to get uptown or to the Fremch Quarter. It also has parking with no extra charge. There are tons of bars and restauramts close by. It is not overpriced and overall a great deal. The only thing I can think that could be improved is that breakfast is served outside.Avis certifié Expedia
"Have already recommended to two friends!"
I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Prytania Park Hotel! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
