Really like the location of this hotel. Quiet neighborhood. Rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable Friendly staff and great patio! We look forward to staying here again.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"What a quaint hotel!"
We loved our stay at the Prytania! The trolley stop is only 2 blocks away and it was nice to just park our vehicle here in this quiet neighborhood and see the sights of New Orleans (but not have to endure the smells or sounds at night). When we first pulled in, my family was skeptical, but I had read reviews of people who had felt that way and then […] fell in love with it. This was how we felt too! The neighborhood doesn't look like anything special, but we didn't have problems and it was very quiet. Our second evening, we returned to our room and walked the short two blocks from the trolley at around 11:30 at night and never felt unsafe. The rooms are accessible from an inner courtyard which is also where breakfast is served. Our room had the most charming circular staircase that led to the second queen size bed in the loft. We took the downstairs bed which was wonderful! It had a memory foam mattress that was heavenly to sleep on. If we ever returned to New Orleans (doubtful since we found it to be the most depraved place we've ever been) we would most definitely stay at this hotel. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Walking distance to Convention Center"
The room was small but perfect size for me for business travel. There was dining within a few blocks walk and it was a 20 minute walk to the convention center. It was also close to the street car to the French Quarter.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Loved our stay!"
We loved our stay and our room was super comfortable. We loved the style of the hotel and the way the rooms were laid out, our bed was comfy, we were given fresh towels when we needed them and it was pretty easy to get to and from. Loved the restaurants in the area and you can easily hop on the trolley nearby.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice hotel close to the street car."
We really enjoyed our stay. The address for the hotel is on Prytania St., but the entrance is actually around the corner. Our taxi driver didn't know where to drop us off. There is a parking lot across the street and the house next door is boarded up, so was a bit concerned as we pulled up. Thankfully, once you enter the lobby, the Prytania Park Hotel […] is quite nice. Rooms are modestly furnished but perfectly fine. The bed was comfortable and the towels were very nice as were the shampoo and soaps provided. Breakfast was plentiful and served outdoors in the courtyard which is well maintained and very attractive. This is a surprisingly nice place to stay and an excellent price. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again. It's also a short walk to the street car that takes you right to the entrance to Bourbon Street. Very convenient. "Clean, Quiet and Great Location"
Room was clean and the hotel was quiet at night. Best part was the location. Less than a minute walk to a trolley stop. The trolley is a little slow because it stops often, but it takes you to all the main parts and you don't have to worry about driving and parking.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"The best stay I have had in NOLA"
Between price, service, staff the is the best value and hotel I have stayed in NOLA!Avis certifié Hotels.com
"great location, nice hotel"
This Hotel has a great location. Block and a half from the trolley stop. Lots of places to eat. The staff was nice. Neighborhood was cool to walk and see the different older homes. Felt safe. Free parking was a bonus. Free breakfast was very basic. Nice clean hotel, great location from hustle and bustle.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Staff - not friendly, but not rude Location- great if you want to experience something other than the French Quarter. Close to great restaurants and the street car line. Room- decent. The bed was comfy and everything looked clean. Breakfast- ends at 9! Not great for anyone who plans to actually go out the night before...those on vacation anyway.Avis certifié Expedia
"The Spiral Staircase"
The concept is unique You have to climb narrow spiral metal staircase in order to reach the twin bed(s) no tv up there. Queen bed on lower floor. No ceiling fans air circulation questionable. The bathroom faucet had what looked like black mole growing around it. The tub drained water very slowly. Would not recommendAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Hotel with Character"
Loved the hotel rooms with lofts. Enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel. Free parking definitely a plus. Location also tops--very near St. Charles. Took the streetcar to where we wanted to go. Would've liked breakfast to be served past 9 am on the weekend, but that was minor. Would certainly stay again.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"One block from St. Charles, Restaurants, Streetcar"
Funky boutique hotel, great service, great location, and pleasantly surprised by the price.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Moving in to college stay"
The loft allowed privacy for a family joining us, and the hotel saved us money with free parking and a free (limited) breakfast. Great central location with good and shops nearby and a close street care stop. I suggest a curtain to separate the bathroom area for greater privacy.Avis certifié Expedia
"Great. We'll stay again"
We were in town for just a couple of days. This location was great. Close to the streetcar and lots of places to see within walking distance. Only negative was the AC unit that leaked and kept the carpet musty. Other than that, everything was great.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Needed parking space for large truck"
Visiting NO. Had good time. Dust bunnies under bed. Sink had a big Crack across it. Not happy with room. People were wonderfulAvis certifié Expedia
I booked this hotel because of the price and the loft room. Since I had never been to New Orleans I was unsure if I had picked a good location. Upon arrival we saw that the rooms were set around a small courtyard which was very nice. We quickly discovered that we had close access to the streetcar on St. Charles and were almost right between the Garden […] District and the French Quarter. Also, we were within walking distance of several restaurants, even a Burger King. We only stayed two nights but are already looking forward to another stay at this hotel so we can explore more of New Orleans. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Rude Manager/Owner No Air Conditioning in Loft"
I have been travelling to New Orleans multiple times a year for the last 4 years with my daughter who attends college there. We have stayed in many hotels and have never had a negative experience or encountered such hostility until the Prytania Park Hotel. We had booked the hotel for 2 nights, but after the first night of hell we asked if we could not […] be charged for the 2nd night so we could move to a different hotel. I was with my teenaged daughters and had booked a loft room. There is a queen bed on the first floor and a queen bed in the loft. The problem is that the cool air from the air conditioning on the first floor does not reach the loft room. There is a fan that is supposed to direct the cool air to the loft but we did not feel it. The air in the loft was suffocating and we did not sleep at all. We approached the staff in the morning and was told we had to wait for the manager/owner to get there. I sat in the lobby waiting for her but eventually booked a different hotel and called her even though the staff had assured me she would call me. I was shocked at how aggressive and rude she was to me. She kept talking in circles at how the fan works and that it was designed to pull the air up to the loft and I knew it was a loft when I booked it. I told her I had assumed there would be air conditioning. So, she would not refund my money. Not only was that a financial blow to my family but the experience really changed my view of New Orleans hospitality. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
Rooms very clean. Fresh towels daily. Powerful a/c. We were in New Orleans because our adult son had been mugged and was hospitalized. This location was quiet and peaceful.Avis certifié Expedia
Room was small, but comfortable. Also, very quiet. I'm not sure if it would be that way on a football weekend, but my weekday stay was very quiet relative to the other hotels in New Orleans I have tried.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Loved my stay!"
We had a great stay at the Pyrtania Park! It was in a location very close to a streetcar stop and there were restaurants in very close proximity. The hotel is older but full of charm. Could it be a little cleaner...yes but most hotels could! I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommed it to anyone!Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Good location for the price"
The hotel is in a good location for the price that includes free parking. The rooms were dated and musty smelling, the A/C works but was noisy. It was a good place to lay your head down for a sleep but not a place to go if you want to hang out at a hotel. Also it has no swimming pool but we didn't look for that when we booked.Avis certifié Expedia
Everything about this place was great. Would recommend this place as a go to place if visiting New Orleans. A very clean, comfortable place to stay and the staff was very helpful and friendly.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Room was charming, and it was a great location. Parked car and rode the streetcar everywhere we went!Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice hotel, close to a lot of restaurants."
The staff was EXCELLENT. The first room I was assigned to the toilet didn't work, they immediately assigned me to another room. That room was even better. Now that's what I call customer service!!!! :o)Avis certifié Expedia
"Good location to sightsee"
Had a great time for my first stay in New Orleans. The hotel was excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable, conveniently located 1/2 block from St. Charles. There were some excellent restaurants within a few blocks. It also had very convenient free parking. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to NOLA.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Easy to find from Interstate 10"
This place was easy to find, right by the trolley on St. Charles St. and very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.Avis certifié Hotels.com
The room had a mildew smell. The front desk was awesome.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"A Great Place to Stay in the Garden District!"
The room was clean, accommodating, cozy, and evoked an atmosphere of a bygone time while providing all modern amenities. The bed was very comfortable - my wife and I will definitely keep the Prytania Park hotel at the top of our list of places to stay during our future visits to New Orleans!Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Possibly Haunted-but very quaint, close to trolley"
The hotel may be haunted. We had strange things happen like my daughter's cell phone vanished and then was right there in plain sight. My cell started playing a music track that I never listen to without us even touching the phone. My daughter would not even sleep up stairs. My husband and I did and my husband had a strange feeling that something would […] not let him wake up. Very weird! It is also kinda hot, you have to leave the AC on 59 to feel comfortable upstairs in the loft. It is close to the trolley and other attractions so that's a plus. I love how the breakfast is served in the courtyard. However, breakfast is very simple: yogurt, english muffins, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, juice and coffee. The staff is very friendly land helpful. Don't know if I would stay here again in a room with loft. I still liked it overall! Neat experience! :) Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Definitely staying here again"
The hotel was nice & clean, bed was very comfortable, friendly staff, free parking at hotel, was able to walk to great restaurants on St.Charles....I'd definitely recommend staying here & I plan to again on my next trip to NOLA.Avis certifié Expedia
We loved the Hotel's charm. The staff was friendly and it is in a GREAT location.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice historic hotel near St. Charles/ Garden Distr"
We were pleasantly surprised how good this hotel is considering the building age and reasonable price at a prime spot near St. Charles. Room was clean, staff was helpful and it's just a a few minutes walk away from the street car line. We got a room with staircase and a loft which my kids love. It may not be a good idea though if you're traveling with […] smaller kids or people with disabilities. Breakfast was ok but a few hot items like egg or sausage would've been better. But the coffee was superb! Will definitely consider this hotel again next time we visit NOLA Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
I have been staying at this hotel for years every time I go to New Orleans. It used to be a great value for the location. At the price, I was willing to overlook the very small, kind of run down rooms and lack of amenities. However, the prices have increased considerably and the rooms have only gotten older and more run down. The bed this last trip […] was terribly uncomfortable. The location is fantastic and the free parking really helps, but next trip, I may explore some other options. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
I found that the room could have been cleaner by just wiping down the walls. The neighbourhood was not the best, but I was prepared for that. There are a few restaurants within a couple blocks.Avis certifié Hotels.com
The hotel was great! All three of us were very happy with our stay. The room was cute and the spiral staircase leading up to the loft really added to its character. It was a short walking distance to the St. Charles rail line. And free parking was a plus. Will definitely stay here again.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Great location in the Garden District"
Overall, we had a good experience at Prytania Park Hotel. The room was offered at an affordable rate. The Garden District location was convenient for visiting several areas of the city. The only issues that I had was that the bathroom floor that was not cleaned as well as it could have been (smeared dirt) and the front desk receptionist was unfriendly. […] She did not even make eye contact at check-in or check-out. These were minor concerns. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
Everything was excellent. Loved the hotel and service. The beds are the best I have ever slept in and want to know what kind of mattress. The hotel also was in a excellent location to good restaurants and the trolley car. Can't wait to come back.Avis certifié Hotels.com
We only stayed the one night but it was close to a lot of things and the best was the free parking.Avis certifié Expedia
We originally chose this hotel because of the free parking, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it offered so much more The courtyard/passageway was a very pleasant place to relax and read, as well as a nice, comfortable place to enjoy the free breakfast. Like New Orleans itself, there were traces of third-world ambiance amidst the modern […] conveniences. We visit New Orleans at least once a year, and we definitely be making this our first choice hotel. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Good hotel in the Elegant Garden District."
This is a good hotel in a good location. The Garden district itself is an attraction and this hotel is right in the area. It's nearby to the St Charles Avenue Street Car which takes you directly into the centre of New Orleans. With the free parking it's much better than trying to stay in the Centre. Free breakfast too.Avis certifié Expedia
Nice older hotel, exceeded expectations , Staff was greatAvis certifié Hotels.com
This hotel was very nice for the price. The trolley to the French Quarter is very close and convenient. The neighborhood didn't seem that great when we first arrived but it was fine and we felt safe. The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean but we had to buy pillows because the pillows provided were flat. The breakfast was not bad. We took […] a walking tour of the garden district which was great and we could walk to the start of the tour from the hotel. New Orleans is expensive so this was a good deal. Would stay there again. "We loved Prytania Park"
My husband and I stayed at Prytania Park for two nights. It was a wonderful little hotel. It was slightly confusing at first for parking and where to enter the lobby to check in. But it took us no time to figure it out! Parking was wonderful and felt safe. We loved our room! Breakfast was very, very basic ((ex. Cereal, yogurt, bagels, Danish.. Etc.)) […] but the breakfast was free and was good! The bed was wonderful, too. Very soft and comfortable! The staff was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place! "Great location for Universities and City"
Hidden gem!Avis certifié Hotels.com
Great old hotel. Beds on split level. No good for watching TV by all.Avis certifié Hotels.com
I cannot complain about the amenities. The location was perfect and the staff was friendly. However, three of the four on our vacation who stayed here, including myself, developed a rash during our three night stay. Could be the detergent they use to wash linens. Nevertheless, I cannot recommend a rash-inducing hotel.Avis certifié Expedia
Housekeeping is certainly lacking! Tile floors weren't mopped once in the 5 days we were there. Didn't clean bathroom or pick up dirty linens and replace with clean two days. Charged us for using the in-room phone for local and 800# calls. No phone books to be found anywhere. Not a place I'd stay again, but then again, New Orleans isn't a place I'd […] ever visit again. It's dirty and smelly and the streets are nothing but potholes! Worst vacation ever! Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
