"Great Place to Stay in LA"
I really enjoyed my stay and will be coming back in Feb. 2012. I loved the massage I received and the fact it is located in the hotel. The location is conducive to walking the neighborhood and is a wonderful place to explore. I am a FAN!!!
"Return visit"
This is the second time we have stayed here. It is one stop from Union Train Station in LA and located in Little Tokyo. We have used it as a stopover to help recover from jet lag before heading home to San Diego. We were able to check in early and eat some of the best sushi around in Little Tokyo. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Highly recommended!
"Classy!"
I'd never stayed in Little Tokyo before and wasn't sure what to expect - wow! This hotel is fantastic. Quaint but posh, very friendly staff, slick and comfy rooms and the cleanest neighborhood ever. So many terrific restaurants just footsteps away. I can't wait for an excuse to return!
"Hotel Miyako -- not bad"
Great location. Good service. Kind of misleading about the parking situation. Not a lot of perks, bottled water in room isn't free, no bathrobe. Bathroom had powerful mold odor.
"THE BED"
THE BED WAS THE MOST UNCOMRTABLE MATTRESS I EVER TRIED TO SLEEP ON I WOKE UP IN THE MORNING WITH THE WORST BACK ACHE OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT OTHER THEN THAT MY STAY WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!
"Great location, kinda dumpy"
The people at the front desk were very nice and competent, and the location was great (I was heading to the train station the following day and wanted to check out Little Tokyo) but the hotel wants for maintenance and care - the surfaces of table tops had been wiped so many times they were exposed, toilet had a bidet but it looked like it was from the […] 80s, floor wasn't overtly dirty, but not overtly clean either. If the price is right and the location is desirable, go for it, otherwise look elsewhere. The hotel also seems to cater mostly to Japanese (logically) - I was the only white woman there (no big deal, just an observation). Lisez la suite

"I just keep coming back."
Close to where I want to be. Food, transportation, arts, clean area, wifi, friendly assistance. This is my place to say in this city.

"Nice people, bad beds"
Great service, great price, location good for my business. However, the mattresses are among the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. They should do themselves a favor and upgrade this most basic of hotel amenities.

"Too Expensive for the quality of the stay"

"Miyake Hotel"
Great location, its in the heart of Little Tokyo. The rooms were clean and had overall great experience.
"Miyako Hotel, Downtown LA"
Excellent Japanese Restaurant. They do not understand what a wake up call is. They were 40 minutes late the first morning and after I complained I did not get a call AT ALL the second morning.
"Very convenient to Union Station"
This hotel caters to Japanese tourists. It's not quite up to the standards of good hotels in Japan, but it's a fine place to stay. It's in Little Tokyo, within walking distance of Union Station, Olvera Street, Civic Center, and Chinatown.
"Surrounded by Japanese restaurants"
The Miyako is convenient to Downtown and the Staples Center, and is next door or across the street from over a dozen Japanese restaurants, including a shabu shabu place and another that serves takoyaki. Some of the furniture in the room was a bit beaten up but the free DSL internet and good cafe downstairs makes up for it. A good value for the pric […] e. Lisez la suite
"Miyako - great neighbrohood"
great hotel and area.
"Miyako in Little Tokyo"
Friendly staff, clean, comfortable, quiet, inexpensive parking, and easy to get around the area. Across the street from several restaurants, but most don't open until lunch. Nice views when the haze cooperates, and the room was a good size.
"A nice hotel"
The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the room was clean. Have to say I loved the bidet. There were several nice places across the street to eat. Stayed two days and there weren't any problems. I would stay here again.
"How old are these pictures?"
The actual hotel does not look like the pictures. For the money I spent, I would rather have stayed at a Motel 6, because you know what to expect. This hotel promised a more "luxury" feel and they fell through big time. Our room wasn't ready 10 before our "check-in" time and we had to wait an hour for them to move our luggage out of the lobby. We got […] to the room and a house-keeper was just hanging out in the room with the door open, awkward!!!!!! The beds were hard as a rock and I don't even want to know what the bedding was made of- it was itchy, not cotton and smelled terrible. Please, if you want a nice hotel, there are so many more in LA- don't waste your time or money. Lisez la suite
"not bad!"
was pleased with the price and location of this hotel, beople were friendly.
"Good central downtown LA location"
I stayed here for a night, mid-week, to attend a nearby concert. The staff was nice, the room was clean, bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Reasonable priced for a nice place to stay.
"Great stay near Downtown"
Our stay at the Miyako was great, and we would definitely stay there again. The cheerful woman at the front desk (she looked like an older version of Lady Gaga) was completely accommodating in our request for one of the quieter rooms, even offering us the opportunity to pre-screen a few rooms before deciding for sure. That said, there's not much traffic […] in that area of L.A. on weekends, so I think any room would have likely been fine. The room was clean and spacious, with individual climate control. The window was able to be opened. The bed was a little soft for our taste (our only complaint). Parking next door in the Little Tokyo garage was very inexpensive on weekends, and at one exit time it was even free - no attendant was there when we left Sunday morning. The restaurants of the adjacent Little Tokyo shopping center were delicious, and wonderful for a mid-day snack or a full meal. We were in town for a show at the Ahmanson at Music Center, whjch was a short walk away - so no need for parking hassles at the theatre! We also walked to the gorgeous downtown YMCA for an excellent workout (the spa at the hotel was closed for renovations). Note that this particular YMCA charges guests a nominal fee, even if you have an AWAY sticker on your YMCA card. We were also able to get around the freeways easily from that location in L.A. (even though it was Carmageddon weekend), and took day or evening trips to Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Griffith Park, and Pasadena. We used the Burbank Airport instead of LAX, which was VERY convenient. All in all, a great stay! Lisez la suite

"Miyako Hotel- a great place to stay"
Lovely, pleasant hotel conveniently located in downtown L.A. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and well-maintained. Right next to charming little market with shops and bakeries. Short walk to the subway station.
"Miyako hit the spot!"
Stopped in for a Dodger game - we found the location ideal. The evening before the game, we hung out in Little Tokyo which was a lot of fun and ended up singing karaoke across the street at a dive bar! The neighborhood is slightly sketchy in parts, but it was safe. Room was very clean and snazzy. They even had a bidet in the bathroom. All the employees […] were kind and helpful. We will definitely come back! Lisez la suite
"STAY AT THE KYOTO GRAND, INSTEAD..."
The hotel was OKAY. It was a 3 AT BEST. We were there for one night, before I learned that the fitness facility/spa was closed for renovation. We relocated to the KYOTO GRAND & WHAT A DIFFERENCE. The Kyoto Grand functions like a 4 Star hotel. ODDLY ENOUGH, the Kyoto was rated lower (for some unfathomable reason) & it was less money, across the board. […] Given the choice, I would stay at the Kyoto Grand in a HEART BEAT. It may have been walking distance from the Miyako, but it was worlds apart in providing quality of experience. Lisez la suite
"Trust the hotel run by Japanese"
I have been to Japan so I understand that if a hotel is run by a Japanese, it should be clean. It's a very decent hotel. The staffs are really nice, helpful and most importantly, the hotel is clean. I always check for bed bugs before I enter a hotel room. I didn't find any. As I have already said. It's clean. If you like Japanese food, there is a Japanese […] noodle place right cross the street. I tried it, it's authentic japanese noodle. I don't even need to tell you the name, since that's the only resto which always has at least 15ppl waiting outside, no matter which hour you go, which day you go. (11am-1am). I would recomend this hotel to my friend. Lisez la suite
"Miyako one night"
What an amazing location! Dinner at a great little sushi restaurant down the street and karaoke at the club inside the hotel. Super clean room and comfortable bed. Really loved this place and would stay again!
"Great Stay, Helpful Staff"
The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood -- surrounded by Japanese eateries and in close proximity with some attractions such as the Disney concert hall and MOCA. The metro station is also couple blocks away. Staffs are extremely nice. Everything I asked for has been answered. The staff even helped me planned the trip. I stayed there with my family […] for 3 nights, everyone was very happy. Lisez la suite
"Definitely a jJapanese flavor"
I got this hotel because it was located close to the train station. I actully took a cab to the hotel because it was late and I was lost when I arrived. It turns out it is about a 6 block walk so not so bad. The hotel is apparently run for the comfort of visiting Japanese. Not a bad thing. A very nice Japanese restaurant with good terryaki chicken. […] A tiny little bar that was quite entertaining with karaoke singing. Good fun. Lisez la suite
"Miyako for conventions"
I have brought groups here before for conventions at the LACC. It's about a 12-15 minute drive. Miyako rooms are very comfy; lovely beds, updated showers, understated decorations. Having breakfast available in the morning is convenient. Great Asian food all over the neighborhood especially in the little mall next door. This is my 3rd return visit. It's […] my go-to place for any LA business. Lisez la suite

"Miyako Hotel in Little Tokyo."
I was very impressed with the level of service, comfort and location with this hotel. It is located in a very nice a clean area of Los Angeles. My family and I loved the Japanese ambiance in and around the hotel. There is plenty of eateries near by as well. For the price this hotel was a bargain.
"Miyako Hotel in Los Angeles - very quiet"
Room was very very quiet. Like a tomb. Maybe no one else was staying on my floor. But that is good because the thing that I worry about the most regarding a hotel is getting noisy neighbors or a room that faces a busy street. The neighborhood looked relatively safe. Hotel had a bit of a cramped feeling, but maybe that is normal for a downtown hotel. […] Small lobby and small room. The furniture in the room was a bit worn. A patch of veneer had torn off the desk. When I arrived at the hotel, I asked if there was any self-parking. Probably a mistake to ask the valet parking guy that question because he said "No". So I paid $20 for valet parking. Later I saw a sign in the lobby about where their self-parking was. Self parking would still have been $15. No wireless internet. They had an internet cable, but that didn’t work initially. Fiddled with the computer for a while, then looked at the cable routing in the room. Turned out that the cable had come loose at a connection behind the desk, so I got under the desk and fixed it myself. Lisez la suite
"miyako a pleasure in little tokyo"
miyako is located in the center of Los Angeles' little Tokyo. Great American and Japanese breakfast buffet at Miyako. Concierge always on duty to help with directions and tour booking. You can park at the hotel, or right next door in a staff public lot. Locally famous ramen noodles to die for across the street. The David Geffen Museum down the block. […] Yamazaki Bakery with its incredible snacks, baked goods and British Bread to go. Lisez la suite
"good budget hotel"

"Hotel in Little Tokyo"
The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. They knew what room we were staying in every time we needed something from the front desk. We arrive 4 hours before check-in and the staff worked to get us in early and in a comparable room (king size bed); much appreciated. Loved the neighborhood. The hotel looks like it is ready for an update but […] we found our stay delightful. Lisez la suite
"Great location - friendly staff"
We stayed for a graduation. It is right next door to Japanese Village (restaurants galore), across the street from the contemporary art museum and about .5 miles from Union Station. The immediate blocks around the hotel are lively with a lot to do. The staff was very friendly and helpful as was the valet. We stayed in an executive room which was the […] size of a regular hotel room with 2 double beds, nice linens, fridge and a great view. It is a great choice if you have to stay downtown (without killing the pocketbook). Lisez la suite

"Business Trip In Los Angeles- Quiet and"
The surroundings and hotel were quiet. The location reasonably close to downtown and accessible to the freeway. Good for a quiet business trip.
