"Miyako"
If you want a calm, clean and reasonable hotel in central LA but not in the noisy hub, Miyako is the PLACE to stay.

"NIce Quiet, Clean Area"
I stayed at the Miyako on 1-31-12. The hotel staff is nice and professional. The room was nice with a very high tech toilet. The only drawbck is that the closet had no place to hang my clothes. There wer hooks on the wall with several wooden hangers. Major props to the valet crew, My car was always waiting for me when I called and they were very helpful […] with directions. This hotel is not as close to the Convention center and Staple Center and LA Live as stated on Hotels .com. give yourself extra time to navigate the downtown area if you have to be in those areas before 8:00 pm. Overall a very nice place and I would recommend the hotel highly. Lisez la suite
"In the middle of Little Tokyo"
The lobby was under construction. The service of front desk staff are friendly, but marginal for a Japanese hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The only problem I had was a noisy A/C fan and rattling noise coming from the A/C panel. I was trying to eliminate the noise by stuffing a towel between the panel, but it did not work. When I was doing […] this I noticed that the filters are very dirty. Not a healthy sign... The location is great if you want to visit Little Tokyo district. Lisez la suite
"Rose Parade"
Stayed at Miyako due to proximity to the Gold line metro - great location to get to Rose Parade. Room comfortable, staff friendly.
"Well Located Quality Hotel"
My overall experience at this property was great, it was well located to the metro so I was able to get my meetings in downtown LA within 20 minutes and one stop away from union station with the LAX fly away bus. I didn't have to deal with renting a car or the LA traffic. The lobby was under construction but the service was great and the room was very […] comfortable. The area restaurants are fantastic, the top noodle bar in the city is across the street and one of LA's hottest new gastropubs was a 5 minute walk. Lisez la suite
"Miyako--comfortable after a long flight!!"
We arrived in Miyako after a long haul flight. It was nicely furnished, didn't look outdated too much and the room was inviting. The bed was extremely comfortable which was great as my friend and I both crashed out suffering from jet lag. Good hotel for a reaonable price. We stayed here as we needed to be downtown for the start of a tour, so not really […] sure how great the location was. Great little asian restaurants on the same street. Lisez la suite
"Some grit and some greatness"
Pros: Comfy and clean beds Spacious feeling shower and Aveda products Very friendly check in Jesus, the doorman. Thank you Jesus for this umbrella! Surrounding businesses: CAFE DULCE, curry house, Japanese grocery to buy bento supplies and oolong tea, that little place that sells those fresh red bean cakes (which I never liked until I tried theirs), […] fun clothing stores, and of course ramen. Plus walk and metro all over the place. Cons: Hotel hallways and rooms felt kinda dingy (wallpaper peeling in spots, smelled of smoke a bit, etc) TV reception funky and no ordering movies Lisez la suite
"amazing."

Good location, in the center of Little Tokyo. Parking is a little tricky. The room was clean, simple, and comfortable.
"Centered"
Great location to reach all of the different districts.
My daughter and I stayed for 1 night as we had to be in LA for an exam for her. There was some construction going on in the lobby so it was pretty noisy, but the place was quite nice. The restaurant was a little pricy but the food was excellent. The bathroom could use some updating and the beds were ok (pillows too hard for my liking). It is within […] walking distance of many shops in Little Tokyo which would have been nice had we longer time to stay. Service was excellent. Overall a nice stay. Lisez la suite

"The Miyako hotel in LA, sweet home Little Tokyo"
Close to downtown LA, freeways and rail station, but in the heart of Little Tokyo, Miyako has the best of both worlds: convenient and reasonable, but in an exciting ethnic commercial district. Across the street from the Japanese American national museum and great ramen, curry, sushi and teriyaki houses, this is America's largest Japan town. Good thing […] as the Miyako has a snack bar and restaurant, but their offering is limited by comparison. In the shadow of City Hall and the federal building, a good business choice as well. Modest renovation has made the rooms more comfortable (wide screen, fridge and a safe). Lisez la suite
"Miyako-good location, expensive parking"
We stayed at the Miyako in order to attend a party in downtown LA. The little tokyo location is convenient and has just enough sushi and noodle house restaurants near by to make the neighborhood feel different from the surrounding city. Our room was quiet, with a really comfortable bed and it had a funky computerized toilet with a heated seat and bidet. […] Although the decor was asian, pretty much everything else is just standard (beat up hotel furniture etc). The hotel boasts a spa for men and women, which I did not use. It is probably the reason one would pick the Miyako over another hotel, but I'll never know. The rooms are pricey because of the location and I would advise the use of valet parking. The self-parking option is unbelievably expensive if you have to come and go. Valet has free in-and-out privileges. Lisez la suite
"Convenience"
The staff at the Miyako Hotel where very helpful and kudos to the security guard who was on duty New Year's Eve. He was doing an excellent job keeping the hotel guests safe and the drunks redirected so that they don't bother other guests. This hotel was safe even at 3 a.m. in the morning and the staff were gracious throughout. It was close to the Disney […] Concert Hall and a few steps from the metro line. Very convenient. "3 Stars on the Nose"
In the middle of China Town. It's kind of hard to find even with the GPS because there are so many signs it's hard to pick it out. This place got the job done but you could probably find another 3 star type hotel w more amanities. It was NYE weekend 2011 so I didn't have many choices for the price. This hotel was a dead nuts 3 star. Fairly clean, my […] room just felt odd, but I can't complain about anything specific accept parking neon a pain, but even that only cost $8 overnight. "Large room, very comfortable"
The Miyako seems to be undergoing a renovation with new stone floors in the lobby. My room was large and very comfortable with a great work area and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was good with both American and Japanese choices, and the lobby coffee shop was open both late and early with a nice selection of offerings (including chicken […] noodle soup at 9pm when I arrived). I would deinitely stay here again. Lisez la suite
"Short trip to LA"
Affordable, great neighborhood, close to downtown and not far from red line station. Great Japanese speaking staff and Japanese style service! In the middle of Little Tokio, definitely recommended.
"Convenient location in LA's Little Tokyo"
I like the location because you can walk to all areas in little Tokyo. The Karaoke Bar is always a great place to spend a few hours listening to both English and Japanese singers. Staff is very polite and efficient. The only inconvenience is the parking (you have to park in adjacent lot and carry luggage a short distance), unless you are willing to […] pay for valet parking. Overall, a bargain in this crowded area. Lisez la suite
"Clean and convenient hotel in little tokyo"
Stayed here for 1 night just to see down town LA. It is a 10 minute walk from Union station and nestled next to tokyo village. Quite a vibrant area at night with cheap dining directly next/opposite hotel. It is a little bit of a walk to financial district and walt disney concert hall but mainly due to the uphill incline of 1st st. Front desk was very […] helpful and polite. Headed to Disneyland Anaheim from here. You can simply walk 3 blocks down and catch a direct bus which is a lot cheaper than booking a disney shuttle. Lisez la suite
"Great Place to Stay in LA"
I really enjoyed my stay and will be coming back in Feb. 2012. I loved the massage I received and the fact it is located in the hotel. The location is conducive to walking the neighborhood and is a wonderful place to explore. I am a FAN!!!
"Return visit"
This is the second time we have stayed here. It is one stop from Union Train Station in LA and located in Little Tokyo. We have used it as a stopover to help recover from jet lag before heading home to San Diego. We were able to check in early and eat some of the best sushi around in Little Tokyo. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Highly recommended!
"Classy!"
I'd never stayed in Little Tokyo before and wasn't sure what to expect - wow! This hotel is fantastic. Quaint but posh, very friendly staff, slick and comfy rooms and the cleanest neighborhood ever. So many terrific restaurants just footsteps away. I can't wait for an excuse to return!
"Hotel Miyako -- not bad"
Great location. Good service. Kind of misleading about the parking situation. Not a lot of perks, bottled water in room isn't free, no bathrobe. Bathroom had powerful mold odor.
"THE BED"
THE BED WAS THE MOST UNCOMRTABLE MATTRESS I EVER TRIED TO SLEEP ON I WOKE UP IN THE MORNING WITH THE WORST BACK ACHE OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT OTHER THEN THAT MY STAY WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!
"Great location, kinda dumpy"
The people at the front desk were very nice and competent, and the location was great (I was heading to the train station the following day and wanted to check out Little Tokyo) but the hotel wants for maintenance and care - the surfaces of table tops had been wiped so many times they were exposed, toilet had a bidet but it looked like it was from the […] 80s, floor wasn't overtly dirty, but not overtly clean either. If the price is right and the location is desirable, go for it, otherwise look elsewhere. The hotel also seems to cater mostly to Japanese (logically) - I was the only white woman there (no big deal, just an observation). Lisez la suite

"Nice people, bad beds"
Great service, great price, location good for my business. However, the mattresses are among the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. They should do themselves a favor and upgrade this most basic of hotel amenities.

"Too Expensive for the quality of the stay"

"Miyake Hotel"
Great location, its in the heart of Little Tokyo. The rooms were clean and had overall great experience.
"Miyako Hotel, Downtown LA"
Excellent Japanese Restaurant. They do not understand what a wake up call is. They were 40 minutes late the first morning and after I complained I did not get a call AT ALL the second morning.
"Very convenient to Union Station"
This hotel caters to Japanese tourists. It's not quite up to the standards of good hotels in Japan, but it's a fine place to stay. It's in Little Tokyo, within walking distance of Union Station, Olvera Street, Civic Center, and Chinatown.
"Surrounded by Japanese restaurants"
The Miyako is convenient to Downtown and the Staples Center, and is next door or across the street from over a dozen Japanese restaurants, including a shabu shabu place and another that serves takoyaki. Some of the furniture in the room was a bit beaten up but the free DSL internet and good cafe downstairs makes up for it. A good value for the pric […] e. Lisez la suite
"Miyako - great neighbrohood"
great hotel and area.
"Miyako in Little Tokyo"
Friendly staff, clean, comfortable, quiet, inexpensive parking, and easy to get around the area. Across the street from several restaurants, but most don't open until lunch. Nice views when the haze cooperates, and the room was a good size.
"A nice hotel"
The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the room was clean. Have to say I loved the bidet. There were several nice places across the street to eat. Stayed two days and there weren't any problems. I would stay here again.
"How old are these pictures?"
The actual hotel does not look like the pictures. For the money I spent, I would rather have stayed at a Motel 6, because you know what to expect. This hotel promised a more "luxury" feel and they fell through big time. Our room wasn't ready 10 before our "check-in" time and we had to wait an hour for them to move our luggage out of the lobby. We got […] to the room and a house-keeper was just hanging out in the room with the door open, awkward!!!!!! The beds were hard as a rock and I don't even want to know what the bedding was made of- it was itchy, not cotton and smelled terrible. Please, if you want a nice hotel, there are so many more in LA- don't waste your time or money. Lisez la suite
"not bad!"
was pleased with the price and location of this hotel, beople were friendly.
"Good central downtown LA location"
I stayed here for a night, mid-week, to attend a nearby concert. The staff was nice, the room was clean, bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Reasonable priced for a nice place to stay.
"Great stay near Downtown"
Our stay at the Miyako was great, and we would definitely stay there again. The cheerful woman at the front desk (she looked like an older version of Lady Gaga) was completely accommodating in our request for one of the quieter rooms, even offering us the opportunity to pre-screen a few rooms before deciding for sure. That said, there's not much traffic […] in that area of L.A. on weekends, so I think any room would have likely been fine. The room was clean and spacious, with individual climate control. The window was able to be opened. The bed was a little soft for our taste (our only complaint). Parking next door in the Little Tokyo garage was very inexpensive on weekends, and at one exit time it was even free - no attendant was there when we left Sunday morning. The restaurants of the adjacent Little Tokyo shopping center were delicious, and wonderful for a mid-day snack or a full meal. We were in town for a show at the Ahmanson at Music Center, whjch was a short walk away - so no need for parking hassles at the theatre! We also walked to the gorgeous downtown YMCA for an excellent workout (the spa at the hotel was closed for renovations). Note that this particular YMCA charges guests a nominal fee, even if you have an AWAY sticker on your YMCA card. We were also able to get around the freeways easily from that location in L.A. (even though it was Carmageddon weekend), and took day or evening trips to Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Griffith Park, and Pasadena. We used the Burbank Airport instead of LAX, which was VERY convenient. All in all, a great stay! Lisez la suite
