We arrived by train and to our surprise the hotel was next door. Great access to the trains and all destinations. Breakfast was included and was fine with a nice selection of different breakfast items . We also received a free pass for the train for our entire stay. This was great and much appreciated. Two issues - the room was not well air conditioned […] and we were hot much of the time... AND the TV had no English stations. Not even CNN. The hotel is centrally located immediately adjacent to the main railway station and is very convenient to most attractions of the city. Most tours leave from, or around, the railway station area so it is only a couple of minutes walk to meet up with your tour. Whilst we were generally satisfied with the hotel, there were a few things that detracted from our stay. When we checked in the room was not very well cleaned and we had to request it be cleaned again. The air-conditioning was not working in the room and was not fixed over the four days we stayed, despite several requests at reception. Fortunately the weather was not particularly warm so it only caused us minor inconvenience, none the less, the room was quite stuffy at times. We were located at the back of the hotel and after leaving the lift, there was then a set of about 8 steps to be negotiated with the suitcases to get to the room. Porter service was not available. Although our stay was reasonable, if we visit Munich again we would consider using another hotels. Lisez la suite

Upon entering the room, it appeared very large and modern, comfortable. It advertised wireless internet, our laptop could not receive a signal in the room, we had to walk across the street daily to pay at an internet cafe. Also, the air-conditioning was not operating properly, we had to open the windows to the noisy sounds of the train station next […] door. We noticed in the hallway, a window opened as well, indicating, a lack of air flow through the hotel. We could not access any English TV, not even the BBC news channel, just German speaking shows. The breakfast was very nice, many items to choose. The desk staff was pleasant and apologetic to the lack of operating services in the room, but could not remedy them. We arrived from Poland, where we had all these services available, and was surprised in Munich this modern hotel lacked these. The InterCity was exactly what we required. If you arrive by train from the airport at the Hauptbahnhof, once you go up the first flight from the platform, turn right a little and go up the escalator and walk straight ahead towards the giant Cocal Cola sign. Once on the street, turn left and the hotel is just after the Burger King. How easy is that? The […] desk staff were all polite and courteous, although we didn't get quite the tourist information we needed. However, they were very accomodating about storing our luggage after we checked out, and we could print out our boarding passes on their public computer at no charge. We had one room for two of us and the other for a single person. This is Europe, so of course we didn't expect the room size one would get in the States, but they were bright and airy, and plenty big for us. Beds were the single mattress on a frame with a duvet for a cover (no top sheet) as is usual. Our double room was a corner room at the back of the hotel overlooking the loading dock. With the double windows open, we could hear lots of banging. When we closed the windows - near silence. Our single person's dorm-sized room overlooked the Bayerstrasse. She had the same experience: close the windows and no noise. The a/c for both was adequate, but not overly cold or noisy like American motels. No problems with cleanliness and the rooms were serviced with clean towels daily. (Don't forget to bring your own washcloths as is usual in Europe.) We did not use the TV, but did use the free internet connection with no problems. As other reviewers have said, the free breakfasts are absolutely outstanding, as is the wait staff. And yes, they give each of you a free pass for the central area's public transportation. It's not far to walk to the Marianplatz, but it's pretty nice to be able to take the U-Bahn when you're tired. The location is right in the middle of Munich and it is just behind the Metro Central Station. The hotel provides you with a Metro ticket that can be used the whole duration of your stay which is so great. They provide internet access with the room but the room itself is small. The towels are small too and I don't understand why the German hotels can't […] provide normal sized towels. The service was decent but not so welcoming... kind of cold and not that much cooperative staff. The breakfast was very good and they provided good number of choices of food. There are a lot of nearby Arabic restaurant which is for sure a plus for Arabs that would like to visit Munich. Lisez la suite

The hotel was in a convenient location by the main train station. Getting to the pedestrian areas took a few minute walk. They have a very nice included breakfast buffet. Great locations- you can walk to just about everything. The breakfast was awesome and it was a perfect place for a night before flying to the airport.

We had two rooms since there were 4 adults in our group. Both rooms were very nice and the location was perfect and made it very easy to get around. It was especially nice to get the free subway passes while we were there. This is a great hotel with a fabulous location. Nice wine bar right in the hotel and as well an excellent restaurant.. You can walk to everything and if you don't want to walk the hotel gives you a pass for the transit. If you are going to Munich I would say, stay at this hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for two nights. Located right outside the central station. Buffet break-fast (good variety) included in room rate. Free public transport ticket provided by the hotel was a surprise and very useful.

The hotel is located less than a block from the central station which makes it ideal to get there from the airport by train and to go around the city using the same train system. The area is safe and has an excellent location. The hotel offers "free" train tickets for each person staying there. We used our tickets daily and covered not only Munich, […] but the surrounding areas, where we visited castles. Free wireless service is available with a computer in the lobby and access from your own phone/laptop. The a.m. of our departure,the hotel provided breakfast boxes since we were living before they opened for breakfast. The food was not only delicious, but abundant. If you are planning on using any public transit in Munich or need to catch a train coming into the city or leaving, this is an absolutely fantastic location--it's about 500 feet from one of the side entrances of the Hauptbahnhof. AND, our room included a free pass for the public transit system. You'd think it would be noisy, but no. There are tens of […] small food sellers in the main hall of the station which is so convenient for picking up snack items or inexpensive takeout. The hotel has installed two sets of windows several inches apart--where normally there would be one--that do a fantastic job of sound deadening. The breakfast is marvelous--fresh fruit, all kinds of cheese and meats, pastries, lox, cereals, yogurt, eggs freshly cooked and your own pot of coffee or tea. Lisez la suite

The InterCity Hotel has an excellent location it is close to the Muenchen's City center. The train station and subway are right next to it so it makes it very convenient to move around the city. They even provide you with a free pass to use the subway for the length of your stay. The train station also has lots of small restaurants that offer a variety […] of different foods that are good and affordable. If you are interested in day trips the tour buses depart from around the corner from the hotel. The rooms are very simple, basic and somewhat small. They have a TV only good if you speak german...they don't offer any other channels in english or spanish like other hotels where we have stayed. The overall appeareance of the hotel is not the prettiest...but if you only need the room to sleep it is fine. They have half floors with stairs in between that make it inconvenient if you have heavy suitcases. The breakfast buffet is very good and the staff very attentive. Over all it was a good experience and I would recommend it. It is rated as a 4 stars but by american standards it would more of a 3 stars. Lisez la suite

Young male manager at Reception not very friendly nor helpful. Tries to ignore you by looking away, or pretending not to hear you. Free TV channels in room are all in German language. Not even a news channel in English!

This hotel is wonderful and the only one to consider in Munich! The breakfast buffet is wonderful, and the serive is top notch. The staff is very willing to help with any questions, and German translations needed. They made suggestions of places we would have liked to visit, and all suggestions were top notch. The staff also could explain to us what […] we saw in photos, as many things in the countryside were not things we were familiar with. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we can't wait to come back again! This hotel is very close to the train station and other places to visit in Munich. This Hotel was just perfect for us. I was with the family and we had 3 rooms. All very clean and nicely updated.Breakfast was included and internet was free in the Lobby. Walk everywhere in just minutes. Staff was really nice....ask for an extra pillow when you check in. No English TV stations was the only thing..but heck we were on vacation and didn't […] care. Lives to much on the fact that Hauptbahnhof are in the same building. Flemmings food is excellent!

Located just outside main railway station this hotel is a dream for getting on trains, s and u bahn to get anywhere in Munich. Hotel is clean and rooms are bigger then average room in Europe. Free breakfast was good. Wifi included in room worked very well. My only small complaint is that television has no English channels and are too old to hook iPad […] to watch. The pillows in my room were on their last leg. This trip to Munich was a blast and my highlights were the castle tours in Bavaria along with concentration camp. All within easy reach from this hotel. This hotel is very convenient to the train station, so if you're traveling a lot, this is a perfect location. Breakfast was included in price which was nice. Standard rooms are very small. We requested non-smoking and none were available when we arrived. Had to sleep with the windows open and noise from the street. Oh well. We upgraded to a larger non-smoking […] room the next day. Out of all of the InterCity Hotels that I have stayed in around Germany, this is by far the worst. The room was freezing cold and the window covered in condensation. The radiator, when switched on, was ineffective. A bonus of the InterCity hotel chain is the free local transport card. At every other hotel this has been offered during check-in. At the […] InterCity Munich I had to specifically ask for it. The breakfast was very good and up to the same standard as the other InterCity hotels that I have stayed in. The location of this hotel is perfect, especially as we were traveling by train to various destinations. It was conveniently close to the rail station and perfect for Munich center and sightseeing.

I just can't overstate how great the location of the hotel is. The hotel is basically on the main train station. This is not just a good thing for travel, but also for sightseeing, since all tours start from the main station. When we arrived, everything was in order. The rooms were clean and very modern, albeit somewhat small, but really standard size […] for Europe. Breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly and could speak English very well. I really have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It was the cheapest hotel we stayed at in Europe, but also one of the best. My next stay in Munich will definitely be in this hotel again. Check-in was easy. The room was clean and quiet. The hotel had free internet in the room. The location was next to the main train station and convenient to the Christmas markets in the Marienplatz. The breakfast buffet was extensive and filling. I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Munich

InterCity Hotel in Munich Very convenient location. We took an airport bus non-stop (40 minutes) to the train station and walked to the hotel. We walked to the MarienPlatz Christmas market and took the tram to other locations in the city. Tram stops were half block from hotel. Hotel provided transportation passes so there was no cost to us. Fabulous […] breakfast - extensive buffet Wonderful staff - my sister's luggage was lost and the staff remained on hold with the airline for an hour helping to locate the luggage. This hotel is perfectly located next to Munich's main train station and thus easy access from the airport. Alas the television didn't work, and it was the night of the mid-term elections in the US. I never could get the front desk too excited about fixing the TV. It never worked during my stay. Ditto for the public Internet terminal.

Great location adjacent to the main/central station. Don't worry about noise - you don't hear the station noise inside the hotel although some of the rooms (including ours) do look onto the rear service yard of the station which is not very attractive so the curtains tend to stay drawn. Fine for an easy to find no frill business hotel but not if you're […] looking for somewhere to hang around for any time. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel was two doors from the train station. It is walking distance from the Pedestrian Zone / Marienplatz area and to the Oktoberfest grounds. There is a tour company located inside the train station, which made it very convenient to walk over to sign up for a tour of Dachau. The free breakfast buffet is beyond […] what would be adequate. We arrived and left by train and spent only one night in Munich. For that reason the location of this hotel is excellent. We just walked to the hotel that is within the some large station building. The room is small and not modern and we got a room at the end of a long corridor with some steps. The breakfast, included, was excellent. Hotel is very conveniently located-attached to Haupbahnhof. Air conditioning inadequate or not working. Complained 3 times-staff expressed great concern and said they would take action-but they did nothing. First day they overlooked our room and did not clean it. Excellent location. Got to Munich Hauptbanhof (main station) directly from airport. Hotel was very easy to find. Hotel has air conditioning which is a must in summer- Temperature outside was very hot up to at least 30 Celsius. Got free underground ticket for duration of our stay. Only good thing about this hotel was the location. The hotel staff on the check in desk were rude - lost our booking and proceeded to quiz us about our booking even though we produced a hotel confirmation. Rooms were old and a bit grubby and mattress was very soft. Overal, a very poor experience and certainly not a 4 star. This hotel was located right next to the main train station so was easy to get to. Service at the front desk was excellent, and the room clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast had lots of good food options. I would stay at this hotel again.
