Calme.

"Lafayette Hotel - New Orleans"
This is an old hotel. If you are the one who appreciates the well kept old buildings and decorations, you will love this hotel.
"excellent staff"
We were looking for a comfortable, affordable hotel near the French Quarter. The Lafayette met our needs. Although a little further (4 blocks) from Canal Street & the French Quarter than advertised, we didnt mind the walk, and the hotel was very accomodating, the staff especially helpful, and while work was being done on the historic building during […] our stay, it was very inobtrusive. we liked the large standard room, and features found only in older hotels. We had a plesant 2 night stay. Lisez la suite
"Better accomodations than expected"
It was great
"Near the French Quarter"
The hotel lacked a few amenities such as drinking glasses in the rooms, adequate lighting for reading, and top sheets on the beds instead of a cover over the duvet.
"Old and smelly hotel in the CBD"
Our hotel room, while large, was mildew-y smelling, had broken fixtures, a bathroom overhead exposed fluorescent bulb in another broken fixture, dirty throw pillows, aged furniture and one extremely old slope-backed mattress. My 10 year old son, who'd stayed at the Intercontinental last time he was in New Orleans was right to point out that the I-continental […] is way nicer. Don't waste your money here. That said, the staff was lovely, helpful, and I couldn't help feeling bad that it was up to them to front for this sub-par establishment. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Lafayette - the good the bad and the ugly"
OK - the positive: the staff is super friendly and helpful and the room ( a suite) was large and affordable during the weekend of French Quarter Fest. the bad: no wi-fi, no room service or in-room food available, the putrid smelling freezing hallways (I assume they were trying to cover up the mold smell by keeping the temps cold). the ugly: where to […] begin? All the furniture, the 1980's tv's which barely had reception, the exposed fluorescent fixture in the bathroom, the broken lamps, the dust covered blow drier, the dirty throw pillows - yuck. Please heed my advice and check out the photos on tripadvisor before you even think about spending a dollar here! There are plenty of hotels in New Orleans. Choose one that at least has a flat screen TV or other signs that there's been an update in the last 20 years. Lisez la suite
"No mention of high rate charged for parking"
I was quite shocked that I had to pay a large fee for having my car parked by valet parking. (not mentioned on hotel summary of ammenities). Said internet was available...not mentioned there was also a fee for this. First hotel I've ever been to that did not have free internet

"Lafayette Hotel New Orleans great deal"
I was most impressed with the hotel. The staff, Luis and Joanne, were very helpful, the room was spacious and recently updated. The hotel is on the St. Charles trolly line and 5-6 blocks from the French Quarter. If arriving by Amtrak, the hotel is 6-7 blocks from the Station. Nice coffee bar across the street and hotel is next door to a one block p […] ark. Lisez la suite
"Pet Friendly Spot with Dog Park"
The AC was NOT cold at all, but we were traveling with a dog, so we could not give them access to the room during the day to come work on it. They would NOT let us check in at 3:45 pm for a 4 pm check in rule....no on site parking, so difficult to drive in circles with a dog for an additional 15 minutes.
A/C and plumbing suck but it's an older hotel. Room was very pretty and very large.

"lafayette hotel"
Parking was expensive...31 dollars for outdoor parking room was clean but needs some updating as well as the hotel...
Could use more updated televisions in the rooms.
"Lafeyette Hotel not boutique, but it is old!"
Expecting much more from the hotel. Many reviews were good and one person said only place they would stay. Not sure where they are from. Hotel was very old and way not very clean. The musty smell off the elevator and in the room was not fun. The comforter was disgusting. I think the photos showed a nice white one, it was the old paisley kind. The chair […] and the ottoman in the room were stained. The old blue carpet was outdated and not so clean. The bathroom was really old and felt dirty. The trolley outside that runs all the time will wake anyone up from sleep. I have been to Nola 5 times in the past 2 months and this was the worst hotel. The area is ok. The front desk staff were nice especially Dwayne and the restaurant Mike's next to the hotel was good. Not affiliated with the Lafeyette. No reason to stay here when there are so many better options. You can get charm and clean in Nola somewhere else. I do not recommend. Lisez la suite
"Not as advertised."
We booked a King Suite with the hotel, but when we arrived, were put in a regular room with a queen size bed. On top of that, the internet was not working and the cable reception for the TV was snowy! They moved us the next day to a suite, but the bed was just a full size. They didn't seem to have any Kings. They gave us a different internet site to […] log onto and that worked. There was no explanation for why the other site was down. The cable was better, but I was amazed by the lack of any movies and very few channels. If you beleive you are booking a 4 star hotel, you are not! Lisez la suite
"Best Value in New Orleans"
While the location is about 5-6 blocks from the French Quarter, the location is still very good. Restaurants and a Rouses grocery nearby are pluses. The rooms are fantastic, and while there is not "combined" restaurant or cafe with the hotel, there is a great restaurant just off the lobby. Two very minor things: the water pressure in the shower was […] just above the "almost got damp" level, and the lack of fitted sheets on the bed is annoying in the middle of the night. But, a fantastic stay for the modest cost. Certainly one of the best values. We will always stay here in the future. Lisez la suite
"Beautiful & comfortable!"

"Parking was a problem"
Parking spaces were very liimited and cars were parked so tight together that we were unable to move our car out without hitting the car next to us.
"gorgeous and very dog friendly"
The room I got for the price I paid FAR exceeded my expectations. The facility itself was lovely and just a pleasure to be in. And especially nice was how sweet they were to my 18 month old puppy, who was obviously overwhelmed by his first visit to New Orleans.
"Lafeyette hotel New Orleans"
Great older hotel on the edge of the French Quarter. The room showed some wear but was clean and comfortable. The staff was awesome. We will definitely stay again!

"Very dog friendly!"
This is a great hotel. They not only like dogs, but they come in from the neighborhood to get treats from the desk attendants. Everyone was very friendly and helpfully with any questions that we had. Very close to the French Quarter, right on the St. Charles line so easy to Garden District and the Magazine st bus it 2 blocks away. The rooms were clean, […] a nice size, and they seem to be updating them, painting etc. Very happy Lisez la suite
"I'd stay again."
Great location if you are okay with the hustle and bustle of Mardi Gras, as the parades pass right by the front door. we were able to walk to most of what we wanted to see, and took street cars to the further out spots. The room was comfy, the staff pleasant. the carpets etc need an update, the tv was out of the '80's. But who goes to NOLA to watch […] tv? Lisez la suite
"Better than Expected"
We stayed at this hotel during Mardi Gras. The rates were more than reasonable (cheaper than most!) and we ended up being given a suite (after requesting just a standard room). The staff was polite and more than helpful with everything we needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and QUIET! Being a few blocks from the quarter makes a huge difference. […] I will stay here every time. Lisez la suite
"Lafayette Hotel in New Orleans"
very satisfied with our last minute choice for this hotel on Hotels.com. Location was perfect, far enough away from Bourbon Street to avoid the noise & craziness yet close enough to walk there and enjoy it all. Front desk staff were very helpful. Offsite parking was just across the street. The room was clean, comfortable and recently painted. Appreciated […] the in-room safe. Wish we had had time to try the restaurant (Mike's on the Avenue) within the hotel -- the menu looked great. Lisez la suite
"Great hotel, bit noisy"
The hotel and staff were very nice. My only complaint is the noise level. Our room faced St Charles Avenue and the street car was a bit noisy while we slept. Would stay here again but request a room away from street car.

"Very pleased, will go back, very pet friendly"
I was so pleased with the location, having brought my two pups with me. The staff was exceptionally nice, but they need new mattresses. Otherwise, excellent. Great area.
"Hotel Lafayette-Very Nice and Professional Service"
We did not want to stay near the Bourbon Street with the night time noise from parting people and liked to try the Harrah's casino, so we picked this hotel. Turned out to be nice. There is a traffic of street train in front of the premises, but it is not level you can ignore. The Mardi Gras spectator stand will stard builing 2 months ahead of the time […] near the hotel. This property is located the Federal courts and Federal government facility and next to the Lafayette park. I am satisfied. Only thing I need to add is there is no hair conditioners in the room. The front desk clerks are very polite and professional. It is hard to see that level of service even in the four star hotels now days. My wife and I will stay there next time in the New Orleans. The restaurant is one side and the bar is other side across the front entry hall. Neither was open for the morning coffee. Lisez la suite
Very nice property for the price. Would stay there again.

"Great experience!"
Husband and I were driving through on our cross country trip and decided to stay at LH on St Charles. Location is great, because it is close to everything without having the noise. The staff was very accommodating! Best of all they are pet friendly!
"New Orleans...always fun"
I booked this hotel because it was convenient to the French Quarter and took pets. Having stayed in New Orleans many times this was my first stay there and I was pleasantly surprised. The only negative was that I was not advised of the $50 pet fee before I booked with Hotels.com. That aside I was very pleased with the hotel. However on returning home […] and reviewing my credit card I found that I have been charged an extra $30 in addition to the $50. I will need to check into this... Lisez la suite
"Great hotel, the right price."
The service is excellent, the front desk is very helpful. The hotel is conveniencely located, right on the street car route. Short walk to the French Quater. A Good restaurant across the street. A very nice markets few blocks away. Enterprise is five blocks away. We'd stay here again on the next visit. Fun city.
"Walking to French Quarter"
Pretty good but pretty basic. The room was large and comfortable and staff was nice enough. Would have been nice if on site rest served breakfast.
