Century Plaza Hotel & Spa - Vancouver

We got a good price on the suite and really wanted a kitchen-make life with kids easier. Free parking voucher is a great bonus. It's not the Wall Centre, but it's clean, comfortable and a decent price in a fantastic spot. We will go back. Staff were great. No bed bugs: mattresses VERY well taken care of and clean.

Its an ok hotel. The lobby is nice and well appointed, but its obviously an old hotel and an old building they can't do much about. The elevators are outdated and slow, the hallways are narrow and kind of depressing. The room was nice, but it needed a refresh. I didn't ask for a room with a kitchenette, but I got one. Everything about this hotel is […] old, but in all fairness I did pay a lot less than other hotels downtown. In the end it was a fair price, but don't expect the Marriott or Hyatt. Excellent value for money, in a good location, Hotel staff went out of their way to help us in every way possible, view was great, room was large. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The lobby was lovely, as was the adjoining coffee shop (delish treats and coffee!!) The room seemed nice upon entering, if not old and in need of some minimal cosmetic repair. The furniture did not fit the space well at all, was obviously very cheap, and the bed felt like a couple layers of cardboard on a concrete walk. Very uncomfortable and I didn't […] sleep well at all. The water pressure in the shower was unbelievable! Now, I like good water pressure, but this was bordering on painful! The saving grace of this hotel was their staff. Everybody was very professional, helpful and friendly. They had great service for those of us attending a local convention, The hotel lobby was great but my room was mediocre at best. The bed and bathroom were clean but the overall look was shabby.

This was a great place to stay. We got a complimentary upgrade to a nicer room for no extra charge. The hotel is close to lots of shopping. The service is simply awesome. These people have customer service down to a science. They make each person feel heard and cared about. It's a refreshing change from the normal check-in process.

Our room was clean and quiet. We really liked having a kitchenette in the room, very convenient. The staff was always helpful.

I'm always amazed that more people don't talk about Century Plaza as the ebst value in Vancouver. For me, it's my favorite place to stay. Cheap rates, nice furnishings, the best neighborhood. As a former Vancovuerite I can tell you that it's close to everything - good restaurants, shopping on Robson, a quick walk down Nelson for the Canucks games - […] and a major hospital just in case. The rooms themselves are in great shape, nice linens on the beds. Everything's in fine working order. I'd like to see free wi-fi for every room, but that's a minor gripe. Seriously, every time I go back to Vancouver I stay at Century Plaza and after this last trip there's no reason that will change. Plus, free apples! Lisez la suite

This hotel has a large number of positives to recommend it and only a few negatives. Positives: - Super location downtown on Burrard near Davie. Great restaurants on Davie that are 5 minutes walk away. - Nice views from many/most rooms. - Friendly and helpful staff - Studio rooms - kitchenettes are a bonus. - Clean rooms. - Decent bathrooms. - Pool […] and sauna :-) - Very reasonable price for what you get. Negatives: - Older place, so single-pane windows (noise), rooms are a bit dated, beds are a bit older, bathrooms are functional but not ultra-modern, etc. If you want super-modern, super-new, go elsewhere. - A bit bland looking rooms and hallways. - Not much personality. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel if you are on a budget but still want a quite nice, clean, central hotel with amenities (like a pool). Lisez la suite

Nice hotel in great shape. Great central location to downtown in a lively neighborhood with good restaurants and shopping. Close to waterfront and spectular views.

the windows were so bad I would have been extremely angry if I had paid full price. We could hear the noise below as if the window were open. In fact I had to call down stairs because of kids partying in the driveway. I had been told by hotel staff that the kids had only been out there for four minutes but that was not true.I know how long I had been […] awake. Also it felt like the windows were open. The amenities were excellent and I appreciated the incentives to dine at the hotel. I was however disappointed that a housecoat was not provided. Overall with the exception of the windows the stay was good and I would stay there again but only at the right price. We stayed for a long weekend in Vancouver. The hotel is older with a moderate face lift. There were some odd things about the rooms like loose wall sockets or no socket next to the coffee pot. old building but nicely updated and great bath products. We booked a king bed and ended up with a double and it was kinda hard but all in all a great hotel. I would stay there again.

Stayed at the Century Plaza with my two dogs while my friend had surgery - across the street at St Paul's Hospital. Perfect location for my purposes... couldn't be more convenient. The hotel is nice, modern, sparkling clean, and has pet specific rooms which you would never know are pet specific - no odour, furniture in great shape... but the best part […] (the part I really want to rave about) is the staff. Unbelievably friendly and helpful. One of my dogs is a (very gentle) 150 lb Great Pyrenees and I was a bit nervous about how he'd be received, but the staff called him by name and made a real effort to make me and my dogs feel welcome. Good value for the $$. Close to all that you would want.

no problems with the motel except the changing water temperatures when taking a shower in the morning.....going from extremely hot to brrrrr cold. not my idea of a relaxing way to wake up. otherwise everything was great! thank you again!

This hotel looked nothing like how it looks in the pictures! We were veryyyyy disappointed.

We stayed here for one night on return from Whistler while waiting on our flight home. Very comfortable hotel, within walkin distance of Sky train, waterfront and downtown bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and hotel amenities were good including the swimming pool. Taxi to the airport was only 30 dollars.

The hotel is very well located within a short walk of the shopping and business districts in Vancouver. It is beside St.Paul's which means that you sometimes hear ambulances late at night if you are awake. The service is always first rate and while the building is feeling its age, the rooms and common areas are always clean. A soon as we stepped into our room I was impressed by its cleanliness and layout.we had a king suite, on special at hotels.com and it was perfect.separate bedroom and bathroom, great view of the street, newcarpet and very clean. The only two down sides I noticed were the occasional ambulance noise as the hotel is next to a hospital and we were on the […] road side, and the heating made the air very dry, which was not comfortable after 4 nights. I couldn't think of a better location to explore vancouver on foot from, a there was a supermarket and street food very close by, and we walked almost everywhere. The location was great. Very shortly after checking in and unpacking my gear in my room an unholy noise reverberated from the bathroom. It sounded like an ogre had indulged in a belly-filling feast of legumes, cabbage, broccoli, and onions. The sounds were explosive, symphonic, and rattled the nerves. They would randomly come and go, at least 2 to 4 an hour. This happened: all... […] night... long.... When I went to leave the hotel I was told that I was already checked-out. The response from the lady behind the desk was abrupt and unapologetic. I do not understand how a modern hotel could make that kind of mistake. I hope the ogre in the wall had nothing to do with it. This hotel was in a great location for downtown shopping. We were happy to get an upgraded room upon our arrival. It Would have been nice also get the upgraded service. I just wanted a bathrobe and they wouldn't give me one. The lady in the spa was nice enough to lend me one. Overall not a bad experience.

i have stayed here 8 times in the last year and i wont stay anywhere else the location is wonderfull staff is awesome and the rooms clean and comfortable and for downtown vancouver the price cant be beat cant wait till next time love it

I've stayed at this hotel before, and love its location and amenities, including a decent coffee shop and nice restaurant, and a well known spa. But, the rooms that I've stayed in really do need to be refreshed. Mattresses are getting a bit soft and curtains have holes in them -- replacing them would be a good start. Even so, this is no ***** hotel […] -- the plumbing isn't pressure balanced, so the water temperature in the shower can change unexpectedly, things like that. And they should include free wireless internet in their rates, even if that drives up the cost a couple of dollars a night. Still, it's comfortable enough, with friendly service, and is close to everything in Vancouver's downtown/West End. Lisez la suite

We stay here often. It is in a good location in downtown Vancouver. Nice big rooms and friendly staff. They even upgraded us to a big beautiful suite from a standard one because we are regulars! So that was great!

We discovered this gem of a hotel a few years ago and we come back over and over again. Great location, large comfortable rooms with kitchenettes, wonderful spa products in the bathrooms, and a great restaurant and cafe on the main floor. We had a great time, the staff took care of everything. Amin gave us the VIP treatment. In the morning the front desk gave us apples and free money exchange. Even the maids gave us a coffee card to the coffee shop. Thank you we will be back!

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Century Plaza, as we were able to walk everywhere in the city. We walked to Gastown, Yaletown and the beginning of Stanley Park. My only negative comment is that the room needs more lamps and light near the bed. It was very difficult to see well while sitting in bed. Also our room had a lovely view of the d […] owntown. Will i stay here again? NO! Rooms were so old and dated. Holes in curtains. Heaters falling off the walls. TV from the 70s, dangerous tv stand for small kids in the room. Maybe they have nicer rooms. I would have liked one of those. We had rented 2 for my family and family members with us. Both rooms were horrible. Smelly and old.

I found the staff to be friendly nut the hotel is outdated. My room was clean but the bathroom was not.

This hotel was in a good location, close to shopping and a large movie theatre (all within comfortable walking distance). Service was good and the room was comfortable, but the hallways did smell like dirty old carpet. It is a good basic hotel; nothing fancy.

We stay here every time we come to Vancouver. Good selection of rooms to suit your needs, helpful and friendly staff, walking distance to Robson shopping, grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, movie theatre, clubs and live band venues. 15 min to West End and beaches. A quick transit ride to outlying areas means you can park the car and enjoy the […] city without the hassle of traffic. Not noisy even though it's on a main Vancouver street. Go for the "corporate king room" facing the water on a high floor...this was far superior than the city side "suite" I was allotted for my most recent stay... Also, re: parking. They nick you for $20 a night to park there... there is free parking (evening only) on the street bordering the north side of the hotel... if you can nab a spot. Also the hospital […] on the south side has a lot where you can park for $5 a night on the weekends.. The "Pick a perk" is a good deal for either the parking or a great breakfast... got a good rate on hotels.com... Lisez la suite

Wonderful Hotel, stayed many times. Very friendly staff , good food. The former owner a Shriner, thats why I, and my family stay there.

Stayed one night. Reception area beautiful and staff are friendly, attentive and available. Location of hotel very conv to everything, plenty of restaurants, pubs and shows. Stay here and you'll come back again.

I liked that it was located in the middle of the sights we wanted to see. Staff was friendly and the rooms were huge. I would definitely stay here again. We were only in town for a short time so we didn't take part in the amenities that the hotel offered so I can't give an opinion on that.

Very convenient to hospital when visiting. Would prefer softer bed i.e. pillow top. Could not adjust heating in room. The service was good.

The hotel was good, The price was very good through hotels.com. The Parking was a relatively insecure Imperial parking garage. The parking was extra, expensive and a bit of a shock. I guess I am used to staying where the parking is free. Internet access is free, in the lobby, or an extra if you need in the room access. It seems the higher end the hotel […] is the more they nickel and dime you. Location was excellent. Rooms large but a bit dated. Lisez la suite

An older hotel. The windows are not insulated as you can hear the bustling street (we were on the 26th floor). But our stay was pleasant enough. And the staff was very friendly.

Fabulous, fun staff! Loved the pool and steam rooms. Our room was very cozy, Thanks!
