Century Plaza Hotel & Spa - Vancouver

L'hôtel est idéalement situé, la chambre (suite) était exceptionnelle ( très grande, sublime vue, propreté impeccable) enfin l'hôtel dispose d'un excellent service.

Malgré la façade défraîchît, l'hôtel est sympa. Internet gratuit dans le lobby qui est très moderne. Très bon restaurant pas trop cher non plus. Ma chambre était un "studio" (le moins cher), completement equipé avec frigo, micro-onde, cafetière (un sachet de café offert par jours), théière et aussi une gazinière avec quelques casseroles. Si on arrive de l'aéroport, il faut prendre le skytrain jusqu'à la station vancouver city centre et compter environ 10 minutes de marche à pied pour arriver à l'hotel

We only had a day in Vancouver before our cruise, but we found this hotel to be roomy, clean, and in a good location. We walked all over downtown. Walking with luggage several blocks from the skytrain station and then to the cruise terminal feels a little long, but is totally doable. The lobby of the hotel feels more modern than the rooms, but everything is kept up well. The resturaurant had great food and drinks. It was nice to sit in the stream room of the spa. I'd definately stay again, and really loved the character of Vancouver.

The room was great, we really liked the layout and it was very comfortable. We were able to leave our car in the hotel lot, and walk to everything we wanted to go to in downtown. One minor quibble was that the pool was out of towels and we had to call twice to get more. While we were out and about, our car was broken into. Because of the swiftness and organized response, and because of the broken glass we found in the parking lot, we got the very strong impression that this happens A LOT in their parking lot. The parking lot does not have security 24 hours, only at night. We barely even got a sympathetic apology, and all we got for our trouble was our parking ($17) and our internet ($9) comped. We felt like they were trying to brush us out of the way instead of helping us get our car drivable again. The room and the location of the hotel was great, but because of the service we received we will not be staying there again.

Room was very spacious however bed wasn't particularly comfortable. Amenities were nice although the bathroom is a bit small. Location was excellant and having never been to Vancouver before, found us to be within walking distance of all the significant downtown hot spots. I would stay here again and the hotel was worth the price.

This is an old hotel which has had a face lift. The reception is modern. When you get to your floor the hallways show the age of the building and do not contain any ventilation. This is not an indication of the rooms. They are large, light and airey. Airconditioned. TV is hit and miss probably due to surrounding buildings. Close to bus stops and within 10 mins walk (stroll) of train station. Hop on, hop off bus stops right outside the hotel. On the down side i do NOT recommend the restaurant in the hotel. Over priced meager portions with ordinary taste.

Located on Burrard Street between Nelson and Davie. A good location for visiting many attractions restaurants and shopts all within walking distance: Stamps Landing, Granville Island, False Creek, English Bay. Close to many restaurants in the West End. Movie theatre on Burrard, two blocks away, Vancouver Art Gallery just blocks away, shopping galore close by. More of a hike but Gastown and Stanley Park are within a 30 minute walk. Lots of ethnic restaurants on Broadway south of False Creek, certainly walkable after taking the Aquabus across False Creek or take the Skytrain from City Center or Yaletown. Needless to say the location is a good one for accessing all of the amenities in the west end of Vancouver. Be sure to buy/bring an Entertainment Book for Vancouver. You'll get your money's worth it if you plan to spend a few days here.

The hotel is close to everything in the downtown core so we were able to walk to every destination and attraction with relative ease. The room was large, comfortable and very clean with a great view of the city core. The staff at the hotel was most helpful directing and advising us in the best ways to get around and the best places to go to. Will definitely recommend this annyone planning to visit Vancouver.

The public transportation system in Vancouver is easy to use and goes almost anywhere you want to go. This hotel was very nice. I stayed in a one bedroom suite that had a full kitchen equipped with a few dishes and pots and pans. It was like an apartment on the 17th floor. Be aware that downtown is a busy place and you can hear the traffic below.

From the reviews, I expected a much nicer experience. Although the beds were fairly comfortable, the couch smelled and was very dirty. This was the only location from which to watch the television, which was small and very out of date. The kitchenette was dated and airconditioner was a wall unit that made noise. We booked the hotel for two adults and one child. The complimentary breakfast did not include children. Our waiter was extremely rude and did not offer us anything to drink. He seemed put out that we were there with the hotel breakfast voucher. Overall, we were disappointed.

Pros- Huge Room, apples at check in, LOCATION is great (close to pretty much everything you'd want to do). In and out parking (about 20 bucks per day)....Cons- Bed was uncomfortable (felt the springs), pay for internet in room (should be free at fancy hotel) All is all, good place to stay

Close to restaurants, shopping, groceries. Within walking distance to Stanley Park, light rail & bus/ferry to Victoria. Front desk & wait staff could be more customer friendly. Kitchenette was useful; had to request dishes, provided quickly. Got an unexpected voucher for breakfast. It was great! Real maple syrup for blueberry pancakes, great coffee. Room was spacious and well organized. Had a great city view on 11th floor w/mountains in background. Interesting tour of old church next door. Panhandlers at church & throughout city can be intimidating.

Excellent position . Easy walking distance from town. Staff fantastic. Resturant was a bit expensive and service very slow at breakfast. Did not eat at hotel in evening

Hotel was in a great location for getting around Vancouver. Good price. We had a suite with kitchen sofa bed and 2 doubles in a bedroom. Few dishes available but we did not really use the kitchen anyway. Bath usual size. Had to ask for extra towels each day since we had 4 people. Responsive to requests. Restaurant good, only tried breakfast as there are great restaurants within walking distance. No safe in room but available at desk. Parking convenient.

This is the most overpriced, unprofessional establishment I have ever been to, you are better off booking at a lower level Hotel if you want any kind of service at all. If you are not wearing large diamonds and speak a different language then you simply don't count. We were far too ordinary to receive the treatment you would expect from a Hotel such as this was supposed to be. We won't come back, I recommend you don't come at all.

The hotel was way past it's prime. Our drapes and couch had holes in them. The aic conditioning did not work properly. The pool was awful - even the kids passed on swimming. The front desk was not very intereseted or excited about helping with any problem. The photos online are amazing - how did they get the hotel to look that nice?!?!

We stayed at Century Plaza for 5 nights during our first-ever visit to Vancouver. The hotel was lovely. The staff friendly and helpful. They directed us to bus lines, day trips, places to eat, etc. The hotel is centrally located on Burrard - a main street through Vancouver and we were able to walk (or catch a bus) to every place we wanted to visit. The hotel restaurant was excellent (though we only tried it for breakfast) and they even gave us a coupon upon check-in that paid for one of our two meals. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a comedy club downstairs and we actually went there for two shows and loved it! It was the perfect thing to do after longs days running around Vancouver. All we had to do is go downstairs and laugh! There's also a world-class spa but we didn't try that (a bit pricey for our budget). Our room was like an apartment with a living room, dining area, bedroom and bathroom. We saw the room of a friend that was a more traditional hotel room - one large space with a bathroom. My only complaint in terms of our space was that the tv was in the living room and sometimes after a long day, I like to watch tv in bed. But it was fine - made me watch less tv! The kitchen had everything you would need to cook (if you wanted to though we didn't) - plates, silverware, glassware, dish soap, pots and pans, stove, refrigerator, microwave, etc. We did keep (and heat up) leftovers though. Overall, it was a great place to stay. We got a good deal on hotels.com and we more than happy with our experience. If you're looking for luxory or something more upscale you might go elsewhere. But we LOVED it!

The hotel was located extremely well for seeing everything one would want to see in Vancouver. Even the 'Hop-on-Hop-Off bus stops directly in front of the hotel! The in-house restaurant, "Beyond", serves excellent meals with great service. Good WiFi service with a reasonable in-room charge of $10 per 24 hours. Desk clerks very helpful.

Close to every major downtown activities. Easily accessible by walking.

Overall we were quite pleased with our stay. The studio hotel rooms were spacious, and there was a full-size galley kitchen included as well. Though not the newest decor/furnishings, the hotel has been well-maintained. My only complaint has to do with the maid service. Dishes were not regularly washed (only washed 1 day out of 3), and there were times that they were knocking on the door before 8AM to ask if we wanted the room cleaned. Apart from that, we enjoyed the hotel.

The hotel is located a short walk to everything in downtown Vancouver. The staff is friendly and helpful and supplied us with discount tickets to the tourist attractions we inquired about. I would certainly stay there again should I go back to Vancouver.

I was really annoyed at the staff here when we first checked in. I had to go return our rental car so I dropped my husband off with all our things only to return some 45 minutes later to find him sitting in the lobby. Apparently you are not allowed to check in until you present a credit card (Which I had) but you would think they would allow him to leave his passport and return later with the card. Totally ridiculous. After that the staff ranged from snippy and unfriendly to really pleasant. It is ashame that they weren't nicer to start off with. Overall the hotel was a good price and the room was nice if starting to look a little tired. That doesn't really matter to us but it might be an issue to some. The one thing the room could have really done with was an air conditioner in the bedroom, it was very stuffy. The best thing about the hotel is it's very central location.

Choose Century Plaza mainly because it was one of the cheapest options on the website and still downtown. I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. The staff were consistently nice, the room was great. Really large room with comfy clean beds and a really clean bathroom. Ask for a room on one of the higher floors and you get amazing views of the city. All in all a really really good experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. At check-in, we were upgraded to a king suite. Balcony afforded beautiful views of downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park and mountains in distance. Room was very comfortable, although kitchen provided utensils for only 2. Nearby IGA grocery within walking distance. Staff was excellent, offering great advice on restaurants on nearby Robson Street and also sights around Vancouver. Would definitely stay here again!
