"hotel renoir san fransico"

"Worst hotel ever"
The mattresses were so hard that the hurt my back as well as my parents'. It was a cold night and I was advised that the heating central was so loud that they had to turn off, so they brought up a tiny portable heater for a room full of 4 adults. There were no parking, of course, I failed to check on the parking before making the reservation, so we […] ended up paying $28 plus tax for a valet parking during our stay. The next morning, I've called to have my car ready, and was told that it would take 45 minutes, yet, I've called every 20 minutes to check on it, and was told the same thing that it was busy, blah... ( on a Monday ). I had to bug them every minutes for almost an hour in order to have my car pulled out for us. It was a horrible experience. Please advice. Thank you. Lisez la suite
The hotel is located in an area surrounded by homeless people... and night gets worse... the staff in the hotel recognized this.. and they just say.. don´t talk to them and get a copy of your passport.. just in case!!! although the room looks clean, the towels smell like they are been having washed hundred of times... in other words... the smell and […] texture are awful. The reception has 2 sofas that are very ugly and dirty... in other words... it is better to pay a little more than going through these inconveniences Lisez la suite

"Great location, awful surroundings"
The location, in terms of being right on Union Square, is great. But the suroundings, full of homeless and drug users is awful. You don't feel secure going out at night and they still haven't sent back to me the $50.00 extra charge for deposit. Plus, parking is an xtra $30.00.
"Hotel Renoir San Francisco"
Good position for travelling to China Town and The Bay area. Public transport excellent. Whilst the building is a classic design, the interior needs updating. Rooms that face over the road are noisy as there is no double glazing. Slow lift However. Convenient for sightseeing and it has most of the required amenities. Book early. Great rates.
"Renior Hotel in San Francisco"
The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is 100 years old, so please keep that in mind. You really do get what you pay for, a cheap hotel that is very manageable overall in my opinion. The only issues I can mention is that the surrounding area of the hotel is in a part of San Francisco that makes you want to be back before the sun goes […] down. Also, everything from internet to valet parking is ridiculously expensive, but that goes for all of San Francisco. Besides the community and surcharges, the Renior Hotel is very close to the BART and directly in the heart of San Francisco. It definitely was an experience to remember, and made for an awesome spring break. Lisez la suite
"Renoir Hotel"
I have stayed in this hotel on numerous occasions on my visits to San Francisco. I can honestly say this hotel is great. Fair enough the surrounding neighbour hood isn't great but the hotel is clean, secure, and the staff are very friendly. It is close to the Castro area and right beside Union Sq. The only downside is the interniet but you can access […] a local free site if you answer some questions and you get 30 minutes free. Some tips, Ask for a room on Market st and bring some ear plugs, finally dont listen to all the moaners on here - this place is ok. Enjoy your stay! Lisez la suite
"Hotel Renoir in San Francisco"
This hotel is in a terrible area. I saw many homeless people, drug dealers, and cops around the hotel. I rolled in late at night and left after only 30 mins. The room was relatively clean, but the bed covers seemed stained and the bathtub was dirty. I saw about a dozen homeless people sleeping in front of a building across the street from the hotel. […] I was exhausted from driving all day and after getting to my room and sitting down, I could hear people yelling down on the street. I knew I would not sleep with the noise and my girlfriend was very uncomfortable in the area and knew she wouldn't be able to relax and sleep. I had to park my car in an overnight lot with no watchmen. Overall, the worst experience at a hotel I have ever had. Lisez la suite

"Renoir Hotel in San Francisco"
Generally teh location is good, generally clean and a good place to stay. However what disklike is the added charges to the room rate which were not disclosed at the point of reservation. Ended up paying twice as much than quoted thru Hotels.Com. Virtually everything is add on to the price.
"loud outdoors"
I came before checking time and they will not give me a room. The noise that comes from outside is unbelievably loud, cars, public transportation, and people....all day and night long

"Renoir Hotel, San Francisco"
they have bed bugs in the hotel. they placed me initially on the 2nd floor and i can hear the bus passing, the coversation of the people below me and smell marijuana from the street. They insisted that they do not have a higher level room for me, but when i complained thay gave me a 5th floor room. The elevators took forever to work, and there is only […] onel elevator for the entire hotel. lobby is so sketchy and the neighborhood is so ghetto, you can just see yourself being assulted there. Not a place i will recommend my worst enemy!!! They do not honor Hotels.com instructions and requests Lisez la suite
"Renoir Hotel - Convenient, but sketchy location."
I don't have too many complaints about the hotel itself. The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel was tolerably clean albeit rather old, worn and outdated (chipped enamel in bathtub, stained grout in the tile, ancient radiator heater, extremely slow elevator, etc). But all of that I can live with. What I didn't like about this hotel was the neighborhood. […] From our hotel window (facing Market St), we had a very clear view of a strip club. At about 11pm, the club would start blaring very loud music that continued until about 4am. I am a light sleeper, so it made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. There were earplugs in the nightstand drawer, but that just didn't quite cut it for me. On the opposite side of the street is a public housing unit, and the area is full of homeless people. For the most part, they are harmless. But the area does feel pretty sketchy at night when the strip club customers start roaming the streets and loitering on the corners. On the positive side, the hotel is right downtown, and is very close to the BART station and a bus stop. So you don't have to spend a lot of time on the street. However if you stay just a couple of blocks west of this hotel, the area feels much safer, and is still close enough to public transportation to be very convenient. In conclusion, I would not stay here again. If you do choose to book this hotel, I would suggest purchasing the refundable room. They are very strict about cancellations (probably because everyone wants to cancel once they start reading the reviews or see the actual location!). It's worth the extra $ to have the option of canceling if you don't find it acceptable. Maybe if stripclubs are your thing, it's the perfect locale for you. But for my family with young children, it's definitely not a place to which I would return. Lisez la suite
"We got what we paid for!"
Anyone that knows San Francisco also knows that the hotel is not in a very safe area. Leaving this place at night is risky! Of course if your destination is the Adult theatre directly across the street, then it might be worth the risk! The staff was friendly, checkin was easy. This hotel has the worlds slowest elevators. Most guest wait for the elevator […] going up, but take the stairs going down. We even saw elderly folks walking down from the 3 or 4 floors up. The room was not very big. (This is to be expected in older hotels). The room was clean. The biggest disappointment had to be the bed. It felt like two box-springs stacked on each other. The shower was the size of a phone booth....although my wife and I had no problems taking a shower, larger folks would find it very difficult. The hotel has no parking onsite. A parking service will pick up your car and provides 24 hour access to your vehicle. There is some street parking available, but in this area, you would NOT want to park on the street. This hotel has VERY easy access to public transportation....BART, MUNI, TAXI'S. Over all experience was not terrible, but there are better options in the area. Lisez la suite
"Old but Clean"
The hotel is old but I will give them a 4 on the cleanliness of the hotel. Also, the hotel is close to the stores and transportation but it's in not so good neighborhood.

"Renoir SF"
This hotel is funky, historic... good lobby but weird folks tend to make their way into it from Mission Street, Friendly staff. Not going back just because of the neighborhood... otherwise fairly priced, clean. etc.
"Ps"
Clean and very well priced!
"Do not stay HERE!"
It said "FREE PARKING" as soon as i got to the hotel they charged a night to park in the hotel and on top of that it takes valet 30 minutes to bring the car to the front. Customer service badly except for a guy that helped us out at 3am Sunday morning. I needed to call 911 because my friend had trouble breathing and the hotel phone was not working. […] i had to run three flights of stairs to the front desk to call 911. Guest for get it! NO VISITORS! one employee said after 9pm another said 6pm and the last night they said 10pm. These company needs to get better customer service individuals. This hotel needs to make sure they post everything on the website! TRAVELODGE is about four five blocks away i would recommend to stay there. Lisez la suite

"Renior- Tenderloin's Finest!"
This hotel is situated in the Tenderloin disctrict of San Francisco, a.k.a., one of the worst parts of the city. The building itself looks run down from the outside. There are boarded up storefronts on the street level of the hotel and a strip club opens up at night on Market street right next to the hotel entrance. Everyone walking the streets around […] the hotel is high on something or actively smoking weed in the street. I was solicited for change or a dollar just about every ten feet. It takes about a five block walk in either direction of market street or north to get out of this district. I did not feel safe at this hotel and would never stay there again no matter how cheap it was. Don't display cell phones around the hotel, we were warned about the "smart phone swipers" who will run up and steal your phone. Just spend the money and stay in another district: North Beach, Marina, Union Square, or Financial District are some suggestions. Somewhere else! Lisez la suite

"RENOIR Hotel"
A cheap hotel, NASTY neighbourhood! Clean enough, EXPENSIVE internet charges! Close to Union Square, and right next to BART. Also adjacent to MUNI busses and streetcars. NOT an area for the timid - smack in the middle of the TENDERLOIN, a sketchy and intimidating place unless you are used to dealing with the fringe elements.
"Best Deal"
The location is perfect. It is right next to the civic center muni stop and a short trip up Market street to Union Square, where you can find a visitor center to buy 3-day passes for the muni, take the cable car to fisherman's whart, or do all the shopping your heart could desire. The specific block the hotel is on does have a lot of homeless people […] hanging around but so does the rest of San Francisco. Best deal for the price, for sure! My only complaint is the hotel doesn't have central AC. But, they do provide a heater and a fan in room. So keep that in mind. Lisez la suite

"Worst parking situation ever"
This place could get 3 stars from me because the room was comfy and it was located ideally for my visit; however, the parking situation sucks so bad that it's worth completely bashing this place. First, there is room for two cars on the valet section of the curb, so if it's taken by people checking in then you're just going to have to circle the block […] until there slow valet people do their job. Second, you need the valet because the parking garage they use isn't even remotely close to the location of the hotel, so you'd have to hump your luggage through a very busy district of SF. Lastly, it tooks us 40 minutes to have our vehicle brought to us the following morning. The staff is pretty bad, too, but not the worst compared to other horrible staff at SF hotels. Lisez la suite
"Close to BART, decent hotel for the price we paid"
If you want a decent place to stay with no frills, this is the place. Its clean with elelavators, smoking outside only. there are a few resturants near by try the club san at the pasty shop accross the street, they are great to take to go and eat later for 5.99 they can.t be beat., Bart 1 block, cable cars 1 block. "Renoir Civic Center San Francisco"
This hotel nearly ruined our vacation. We felt scared to go out during the day -- let alone the night. The room was old, the bathtub dirty, the shower spray sparse. There was nothing free: pay for computer use, pay for coffee service, newspaper? Are you kidding. We would have cancelled after one night and stayed somewhere else, but they book non-refundable. […] Very, very dissappointed. We knew the area was bad and the room cheap, but this felt "two star" at best. Lisez la suite
"Renoir hotel: cheaper for reasons"
Renoir hotel was quite reasonably priced compared to the big corporates near Fisherman's Wharf, but we were still disappointed by the hotel. The location could be used in an episode of The Wire, and the one working elevator was geriatric in terms of age and speed. The view out of our window was of the porn theatre opposite where an amply-breasted […] lady on a billboard asks if you want to Feel The Magic. Made me laugh. The sofa bed was broken with the mattress falling through the busted springs. This was replaced for our second night. Overall, not great. Wouldn't recommend it to families or couples Lisez la suite

"good central location. Good transporation close"
I did not expect much from this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, well maintained. it's a no frills place but very convenient to numerous transporation options to access san francisco. Mostly european travelers staying here. Only downside for this cheap hotel is the neighborhood has alot of homeless and pan handlers around. Mostly […] becuase the train station is across the street. Otherwise I would recommend this place for a no frills option. Lisez la suite
"Old, outdated"
Close to destinations, but elevator took 5 min to get up or down 7 flights. Amenities were old and un-clean feeling. Only plus was the kindness of the front desk help.

"Renoir Hotel, San Francisco"
The hotel is always surrounded by homeless people and drug dealers. I dont blame the homeless people bcoz they dont have anywhere to go. But the presence of drug dealers round the clock is very disgusting. esp in front of this hotel.
"The Renoir Hotel"
I found the hotel a bit dated, but clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. It seems to cater to mostly European clientele. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go (museums, AT&T Park, Chinatown, North Beach, the piers), without a problem. The area is not 5 star but I never felt threatened. There was no a/c in the room, but the weather was cool […] so it wasn't an issue. Lisez la suite
