Excellent établissement, très bien situé. Qualité d'accueil et de services remarquables et propreté des chambres et de l'hôtel à noter. Un plus non négligeable : à notre départ, transfert gratuit à l'aéroport de San Diego par la navette de l'hôtel. Un seul tout petit bémol : le système de chauffage (ventilation) n'est pas adapté à un chauffage rapide de la chambre (si nécessaire).

Avec un excellent restaurant mexicain au pied de l'hôtel, une plage magnifique à côté, c'est un très bon lieu de séjour!!

"Days Inn Harborview - excellent location"
We spent 2 weeks in that hotel and had a great time. The location was excellent, we were close to everything and within walking distance of many restaurants. It's true that the train runs right behind the hotel but it's really not a problem, the room was very quiet at night. The staff was very helpful too. cet hôtel est situé à 30 min à pieds de l'aéroport, il donne sur la marina (juste une route à traverser), où il est très agréable de faire son jogging ou de se balader, au bout se situe le seaport village, super mignon et on y mange très bien. Situé à 5 min à pieds du trolley, qui mène à la vielle ville, aux quartiers touristiques (ils sont cependant […] accessibles à pieds en 30-45 min maximum!), à la frontière mexicaine pour les outlets (45 min de trolley). Le zoo est à 1h30 de marche ou à 30 min de trolley/bus. On peut prendre le ferry sur la marina 15 min à pieds depuis l'hôtel pour aller passer la journée sur l'île du coronado). IL y a plusieurs magasins de location de voiture autour de l'hôtel, accessibles à pieds, bon marché. La plage de la Jolla n'est qu'à 30 min de voiture et vaut le détour. Los Angeles est à 2h de route, et la magnifique plage de Santa Monica est sur la route pour LA. L'accueil à l'hôtel est super, ils renseignent très bien les touristes. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et compris dans le prix expedia, nous n'avons rien payé en surplus. La chambre est faite tous les jours. Une navette est mise à disposition à n'importe quelle heure pour le départ vers l'aéroport au retour, il suffit de la réserver la veille (gratuit). Bref: très bon séjour dans cet hôtel, même le bruit du trolley ou du train qui passent tout prêt, ou des avions, n'est pas gênant car l'isolation est bonne (il suffit de fermer les fenêtres!! d'autant que les chambres sont climatisées). This hotel had it's ups and downs. The downs: Continental Breakfast is very small, shuttle service to and from the airport is not completely free, a lot of construction going on around the hotel. The place is extremely worn. The dresser had huge holes in it and the air-conditioner had a high pitch screech. The man who checked us in was less than helpful--apparently he was having a bad day. Located in front of a "Harbor" when we got there the view was really disappointing. Not so much a view as more of a construction site. They were developing something n front of the hotel so you could barely just see the bay. They had a small lobby which also substituted as their breakfast room, or not so much a breakfast room as more of a side space […] with tables and chairs. The room we stayed in was by far the worst of my stay in America. The room smelt like a smoking room even though it said "Non Smoking Room" and the bed didn't feel as clean. They said it had cable tv but the TV was as basic as anything. We came back one day with our door room closed but not pulled closed so the cleaners didn't do their job properly. I must say that I have stayed at other Days Inn's in the past, and I have not had an issue. I was staying there attending a conference at the SD Convention Center, and I was looking for a reasonably priced place to sleep (I was leaving early and coming back late for the 3-Day convention.) First, the good - friendly staff, relatively clean-appearing […] room. Next, the bad. The room had a strange smell - - combination light smoke/sanitizer/staleness. I could live with it (I propped the window open when I came in the room, and kept the fan on, which brought in fresh air from the outside.) No huge big deal, except when I left the room after 3 days, and packed my clothes back up, the smell went home with me. My suits/dresspants/dress shirts had to be re-cleaned, just to remove the smell. It is my first time experiencing anything like it. Again, a shame, as everything else regarding the hotel was fine. Maybe I just had bad luck with the room selection, and I should have requested a different room. If I thought the smell would have permeated through my belongings, I would have. This is an outstanding small hotel with some rooms having amazing direct beach and ocean views, as well as views of the Newport Pier. The rooms are decorated in over-the-top victorian detail, however this is in keeping with the age and style of the property, so it works. Breakfast, which is included, is a lovely buffet of freshly-backed individual quiches […] as well as fresh fruit, pastries and breads, cold cereal, yogurt and coffees and juices. First-rate quality on the food, which can be eaten in the small dining room or the terrace overlooking the ocean and neighborhood. Note that the property is in the center of the entertainment district at the waterfront of Newport Beach, and is surrounded by bars and restaurants, so it can get quite noisy on weekends. The hotel does provide earplugs, and for light sleepers, these would be a must. The restaurant below the hotel rooms is the best in Newport Beach, and offers wonderful happy hour specials on drinks and food until 6:30 pm, making it a great value. Bed was clean and for the most part I only was in the room to get a few hours sleep. There were red smudges on the light switches and crusty stains on the table and end table. Water temperature fluctuated while in the shower from scalding hot to freezing cold depending on who else was taking a shower or flushing their toilet in the vicinity. It is close to the airport, the cruise line terminal, Little Italy and downtown. There is a 24-hour Denny's two blocks (easy and safe walk) from the hotel. I did miss there not […] being a snack machine on the premises. Blowdryer in the room was great. I thought breakfast was a little skimpy. Basically, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, toast, juices, milk, coffee, and bananas. Perhaps I missed the hard boiled eggs, mini-bagels with cream cheese, oranges and apples.
