this is a small boutique hotel within walking distance to the royal palace, several restaurants, bus station, across the street from the metro and near to a small market. the internet was free in the room, (first place on our trip, others were free in the lobby). the restaurant in the hotel appeared to be very expensive so thank goodness for the other […] close by restaurants. there was a bit of broken glass on the floor when we arrived and a hair in the bathroom, but otherwise the room was clean and fairly comfortable. all in all it was a fine place to stay. "Great location, good deal"
A very well-maintained hotel across the streat from the Teatro Real and it's Metro stop (Opera) on the convenient central red Metro line. Excellent service, everyone spoke and understood English. I had one of the smaller rooms (201), which was fine, as it was just me. It was very quiet (no outside street noise) and only minimal noise from the other […] rooms near me. (Much less than in many European hotels.) Their restaurant on the ground floor was an unexpected bonus -- excellent food and service. Overall, a very good deal in a great location. Lisez la suite
"Opera Hotel Madrid =, very central"
Have just returned from an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. It is very close to many of the "must see" sights. Myself and friends had a wonderful time and began the day with an excellent breakfast. A great place to stay in Madrid and would thoroughly recommend it to all my friends and look forward to my next […] trip. Great hotel, great staff and good food, what more would anyone want? "Central Madrid Hotel"
Very close to everything. Walk to 'Sol' City Centre 5 mins Walk to palace - 3 mins Across the road from The Opera + Metro + A very interesting resturant where the waiters sing ... Great Would stay again
"opera"
The room was soooooo tiny!! Clean, no frills.
"great location"
Nice hotel , but rooms are little small , staff friendliness is just ok , it would be completely satisfactory if the prices are a little less....
"Perfect location, very nice hotel!!"
We had a great time, the location was perfect, walk distance to everything. The staff was very nice and the hotel is very clean and modern. Loved this hotel.
"Great Place to stay"
I loved this hotel. The staff was friendly. However, they do not give specific recommendations unless pressed. Also they missed one of our wake-up calls but were apologetic afterwards. Overall a nice comfortable place to stay with a great location.
"Hotel Opera, Central Madrid"
Good points: 1. Great location, next to the Opera 2. Funky rooms 3. Great range of TV channels 4. Good bathrooms 5. Free wi-fi in room Bad points: 1. No iron in room - but did lend me one 2. Tiny gym with bad or broken equipment (but great view) 3.Generally grumpy staff
"Small and charmimg"
This hotel is in a great location near the palace. Easy to walk around the city starting here. Rooms are small but nice and the staff is great. It is a family run business and they really try to make you feel at home. I ordered room service and it was there is 5 minutes. I would definitely stay there again.
"Opera Hotel - A good home base"
This is a good hotel for seeing the sights of Madrid. Close to the Metro, anything you want to see is a quick ride away, and the Metro in Madrid is VERY easy to use. There is a pedestrian zone nearby with lots of shops and restaurants, and the Royal Palace is also close by and worth a visit. There was a special exhibit at the Royal Palace while we were […] there -- Treasures of Poland. Very nice, included the DaVinci painting "Lady with an ermine". The room was modern, clean, and comfortable and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had everything you would normally expect -- meat and eggs, toast, cereals, coffee, juice, yogurt, fruit, etc. Lisez la suite
"Not four stars"
I would not give this hotel four stars. It has some nice features, such as very nice bathrooms and a comfortable bed. However, the rooms are small and have no comfortable place to sit. More importantly, nothing quite works right. I stayed for four nights, and there were constant irritations. The internet goes down every so often, the room key stops […] working periodically, the shower door does not stay shut so the floor gets covered with water, the trash can lid does not ope, the hairdryer stops working periodically, etc., etc., etc. When these things happen, the front desk clerkd are usually quite nice about fixing the proiblem, but it is always a bother. Also, they only give you an internet idea for one day at a time, so every day you have to request a new one. The hotel is clean and not expensive, but it is hardly luxurious. I would not stay here again. Lisez la suite

"Hotel Opera, Madrid - Avoid this place"
At check in, everything seemed fine. When we got to the room I found out that the toilet seat would not stay open on its own, and, despite being wrapped with a piece of plastic saying it had been disinfected, the toilet had recently been used with some remnants left behind. All night long there were groups of people walking around the hotel singing […] loud enough to wake us (city dwellers, living less than a block away from the L in Chicago). At check out we told the front desk worker (who had previously been identified as the manager by another worker) that we could not leave until we let him swipe our card. He said that it wouldn't be charged, but he needed it for something-or-another. Well, we just got home and found that he did charge us - more than the total that we had paid thru Hotels.com. Terrible service, but the location is extremely convenient. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Opera"
Perfect location in Madrid. You can walk to everything. It is a moderate hotel, nothing fancy, but perfect for the money. I stayed there in December (over Christmas) and my daughter just stayed there in Feb. I would definitely go back.
"All Round 10 out of 10"
The Opera Hotel is ideally situated for anyone who whats to discover the magic of Madrid. Just 2 minutes from the Opera Metro station, you can easily reach all the major sights of Madrid, either walking or by Metro. The hotel was clean, well maintained. The hotel were friendly, spoke english and were willing to offer useful help and advice about the […] local area. The rooms are well appointed, clean, tidy and comfortable. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room, as well a more than 2 english channels on the TV (only has BBC World & CNBC). Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Lisez la suite
"Steps from the Palace"
The staff here was great - we arrived early in the morning but they were able to get us into a room well before standard check-in. They were also friendly and willing to help with recommendations for dinner around the area. The rooms themselves are tiny, but very clean -- the bathroom is huge though. The beds aren't horrible. The gym was ok, the treadmill […] key was missing so we couldn't use that but the elliptical and the bike were fine. I don't think it'd be comfortable if there were more than 2 people in there at a time though - sort of a tight squeeze. Overall - a great value. It's just a block from the palace so you get the perfect mix of being close to the sights but off the main strip. Lisez la suite

"Great hotel and base for seeing Madrid"
Hotel Opera is ideally located for seeing the main places of interest in Madrid. Stepping out of the hotel one is virtually onto the beautiful Plaza Oriente, which has on its other side the Palacio Real, the Catedral de la Almudena and the Sabitini Gardens. The "Madrid Vision" hop-on / hop off tourist bus passes the hotel, with a stop in a nearby street.. […] For a day or two (17or 21 euro) this gives a multi-lingual guided open-top bus tour of the main places of interest. I used it for two days to discover these, to visit quite a number of places, such as the Prado Museum, Reina Sofia museum of modern art (Picasso, Miro, Dali etc. . ) and the Retiro Park. Thereafter, aware of the short and interesting walks entailed it was easy to visit such places as the Plaza Major, Plaza Espana and Templo de Debod. For a lone tourist the proximity of the bustling Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Major and numerous little local square restaurants as places to eat in the evening was a huge advantage. The hotel itself provided a nice buffet breakfast, had friendly staff, comfortable modern-style rooms, elegant common room (with free internet facility) and a clearly up-market cafe. A minibus shuttle service from the hotel to Barajas Airport was cheap and very welcome. Whilst as in many parts of Madrid there are ongoing public street works taking place (protracted I suspect), I would require to be persuaded to consider another hotel or location on my intended next visit. "God service, gode værelser og god beliggenhed"
Rigtig godt hotel.
Nice hotel with small but efficient rooms. Free wifi is a plus. The design is great and location is unbeatable. Metro is just 100 m away. Breakfast was good and just enough. Friendly personnel in reception.
