No complaints from us about the rooms. Our 2 rooms were spacious and clean. And the river view was very nice and worth the extra money. Sure the carpets are old and have some stains - but that dead horse has already been beaten more then a few times. So other then the carpet issue, the physical attributes of the hotel were fine. My complaints/concerns […] are about the front desk customer service and the reservations system... I reserved our 2 rooms over 4 months in advance via Hotels.com and requested 2 double beds in each room. I also called the hotel directly a few days before our arrival to confirm the reservations - and they reassured me they had our requested rooms with the 2 double beds. But for some reason, upon our arrival, no rooms with double beds were available. I tried to discuss it further with the front desk staff member and showed her my confirmation paperwork - but she was very rude in handling the situation - basically saying that if you book through a 3rd party site you can request whatever you want - but there's no guarantee that's what you'll get. And it seemed to me that she'd probably used that speech more then a few times that day. I know I should have pushed the issue and should have called Hotels.com to have them deal with the situation. But we were exhausted and hot - and I knew the hotel was totally sold out because of a festival going on - so we decided to just take the rooms they gave us so we could get off the streets for showers and rest and food. But then a short while later that afternoon/evening while waiting in the lobby for the rest of my group, I watched/listened to the exact same song and dance play out with 4 other people that reserved a specific room type but the hotel didn't have it available. And all 4 of those people also made reservations through 3rd party booking sites! The same rude front desk staff person rattled off the same excuse about 3rd party booking - and one of the customers got so upset that a police officer Lisez la suite

The room was fine for an overnight stay. It was conveniently located to Forum. Our room was near elevator so a lot of guest noise and traffic. We were also on a lower floor so there was a lot of street noise as well. Staff was accommodating. Would request higher floor away from elevator next time.

The Staff were excellent. Room was a bit dated, nice size tho. We thought we were facing the river and end up facing the street. The information did not state that you had to pay extra for the river view. The taxi was free to the peer which was nice. I would have preferred to stay somewhere closer to the mall and restaurants tho We had to take a taxi […] to these areas before the cruise. We shuttle dropped us off at the restaurant and did not pick us up even after 3 phone calls and one hour wait. The hotel did compensate us with free breakfast tho. Lisez la suite

The hotel staff was very helpful, but very overworked. They were not ready for a sold out night. The rooms were not cleaned properly, the rugs are filthy and need replacing. The bathroom had hair in tub and on floor. The shower ceiling was water stained and the tiles had mold. I will not return to this hotel again. Wait!!! Decent hotel with very nice staff and a pretty good hotel restaurant with ok prices. I had a room with view over the river which was very nice. Although I'm personally indifferent towards water, I really liked the view of the university area, which was very beautiful and just across the river. The downtown area was surprisingly dull. I had expected […] many shops and maybe a shopping mall, but only found a few restaurants, a pharmacy and lots of banks. There were several museums within walking distance, but I never visited them. Hotel was downtown and this seems to be a plus except for the extra cost of the valet cost per day $20.00 a day to be exact if I knew that I would have not tipped the valets so much. I paid a lot to stay there and there were all these extra fees that I did not know about. The valet fee for one and the fact that breakfast was not included with my room […] I had to spend a extra $14.00 if I wanted to eat in their "cafe" and that was for the cheapest item on the menu I elected to eat elsewhere. This place was great yes the carpet wasent amazing but it wasen't filthy either the bed was so comfortable and we had a bautiful view of the river. we definetly enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is in need of an upgrade. Carpets and furniture stained and chipped. The room wasn't really clean either, although the bed linen was good. Also, the glass sliders were dirty. Just felt sad. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will not stay again.

This hotel is close to Tampa General hospital, and they offer special rates, if you have a need to stay there for Tampa General. They also have a shuttle, which they can take you back and forth to the hospital, or wherever else you want to go for free. I also had my dogs with me, and there was no extra charge. The carpet was a little dirty, but I think […] they gave me that room because of the dogs. But overall is was fine, and I will need to stay there again when my husband is in Tampa General. My little dog was upset the first day I was there, and they had to call me on my cellphone, I was at the hospital, so the manager asked permission to go in the room, I said it was ok, and she went in and got the dogs, and put them in her office in their crate, until I came back from the hospital. We live in the area, but stayed at the Sheraton for my daughter's wedding. The staff was very friendly and helpful (especially Marcus) bellman. In fact everyone was very friendly. They have a free shuttle that will take you to the local hot spots, if that is what you are looking for and it is located very close to everything else. The only downside […] is that you must valet park your car, but that is the way it is at all the downtown hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Lisez la suite

The bedding was very nice; however, I wish I could say the same for the floor. Carpet was dirty. I would not walk without shoes.

Staff friendly and helpful. Shuttle wait longer then estimated faster to walk to destination.

The hotel has a unfavorable parking condition, we had to always valet the car, and the hidden valet fees were not an expected expense in our budget and parking should have been complimentry if they did not have available free space. The carpet in our room had stains at the door entry and needed cleaning, the sliding door to the balcony was broken (stuck […] and seemed off track) this caused inconvience to access the balcony, but the balcony had a nice view of the river. There was no microwave, no mini fridge for food usage needs and the Hotel is just situated in an ackward place in the city. the room also could have been bigger. But the staff was very helpfull and extremely fast and courteous. There are areas of improvements needed and I hope they can step up and deliver as much as their advertisement photos seem to promise. The Sheraton is the best value in the Tampa Convention Center area. It is on the river, in has a restaurant, store, shuttle, store, gym and pool. The rooms are large. We have stayed there 3 times on weekend getaways. The other hotels are too large or too expensive. You can actually walk to places from here. The driveway staff in helpful. The only negative […] is that the driveway is hidden and on a divided road. Since you are downtown you will pay to park. Convenient to Ybor, channel side, cruise port, the casino, aquarium and Hyde Park. Lisez la suite

I must say, the hotel was really nice but I was surprised when we pulled up that it is valet only. No where when making reservations was I told it was valet only at 20 dollars a day. And not to mention u have to tip the valet each time. So b aware that there is a fee for parking when staying here. Self parking is not an option.

Ceiling was leaking from air conditioner and room was old. Walked into gift shop to buy a newspaper and was iven attitude because all I had was a $20. Decided not to buy it because the guy was so rude and he tried to give me a $10 back instead of my $20. Very disappointed

My stay was good and comfortable, but the hotel service could be a little better. I requested a microwave and refrigerator in my room as I am a diabetic heart patience. As I called to make this request was told I would not be charged. When I got to the hotel I was told it was going to be a $40 charge per day. A BIG RIP OFF! There were two other customers […] requesting the same items and were told they would be free and got them right away as I had to wait. Either you are going to be fair across the board and not charge at all as we play enough to stay at your hotel along with other fees. What you need to do is upgrade your rooms and ad these features to your hotel rooms. In the future have better front counter service when checking in your hotel and you should not CHARGE to use microwave/refrigerator for the room. On top of all that when I did get the refrigerator it did not work, the hotel service never came and got the refrigerator and I was still charged for something I could not use. Everything about this hotel was good.. Minutes away from all the attractions.. Friendly staff.. But be aware that valet parking is a must and it is $17.00 per day.. We were there 3 nights/4 day.. Valet alone was $51.00.. Was not expecting that.. But other than that its a good place to stay

The Sheraton Riverwalk was ideal for our weekend trip, since we were in town for a wedding at the Bank of America Tower across the street. The hotel has shuttle service to the downtown area which delivered us to the bay where we watched the international dragon boat races and took a bay cruise. This hotel is beautiful and the rooms are amazing. The hotel manager even upgraded our room to include breakfast in the morning which was yummy hot foods. However, parking is a complete rip-off. I understand it's downtown but the hotel should really offer free parking to it's customers. Parking was $10.00 per day and $16.00 at night. I definitely didn't […] expect that going into this hotel. I did manage to not pay for parking by staying at the nearby parking meters and moving the car when meters went into effect. Worked out well for me since I wasn't at the hotel much. Lisez la suite

WE ARRIVED IN TPA TO ON FRIDAY, ROOM WAS ALREADY CLEANED...GREAT JOB FOR A 10 AM ARRIVAL. LOCATION WAS GREAT, 30 MINS TO TB RAYS STADIUM, 1 HR TO ORLANDO. THEY HAVE THEIR BOAT TOUR GUIDE AND HE SHOWED US EVERYTHING. HOTEL IS RIGHT ON THE BAY. WOULD GO BACK THERE AGAIN.

The best feature of this hotel is it's location in relation to the Forum. Outside of that, it leaves much to be improved. The street access was abhorrent, trying to check in or move anywhere around a busy hotel in the way that this valet/check in area is configured was impossible. The front desk although overwhelmed was very polite and efficient. Now […] the juicy part... The room had very old carpet with all sorts of stains. The maid service had many issues. The room wasn't completely cleaned, missing towels, etc.. this was in the club level. Embarrassing. The same made service decided that at 8AM on both Saturday and Sunday morning regardless of the do not disturb signs placed on the door that they should just "knock louder" To the point where I had to yell- go away- after politely telling them that we were fine. The valet staff were the shining stars of the hotel. The handled the chaos of an extremely poorly designed hotel reception area with grace and respect. My only Kudos goes to these guys. I would not recommend the hotel. If even just for the convenience. It felt like I was spending the weekend at a keg party at a fraternity. But, Alegria- was a great show. Lisez la suite

It was a great experience. The hotel staff was very helpful and accomodating. The only dislike I had was that the breakfast buffet was price.

I had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk. I stayed in a river view room, which I highly recommend; a sliding door leads to a balcony, which has a perfect view of the river and surrounding area. It was absolutely beautiful. I loved enjoying lunch on the balcony while watching dolphins swim by. It was a magical feeling. The rooms were clean, […] the beds were comfortable, and the staff was exceptionally polite and accommodating. My wife and I wanted to stay downtown. Typically staying downtown puts you close to a lot of convenient touristy things, at a price premium, and this hotel was no exception. A free shuttle took us where we wanted to go. On one trip up to Ybor City, we found this very useful given the fact that we didn't see one taxi cab in over 20 minutes from where […] we were at Centro Ybor. But that's the only nice thing I have to say about this hotel. The gift shop closed at 9 pm even though it was advertised open until 11pm, so we couldn't purchase some of the personal items we needed. A request to the front desk for a few items we needed didn't provide any success, as we were advised simply to purchase them from the gift shop. The closest convenience store was closed, and even the nearby pharmacy we expected to be open all night was closed at an early hour! Room service was terrible. The service was very friendly, but our call 20 minutes before they closed for the night brought us something inedible, except for the overpriced bottles of water that weren't even cold. The bed itself had a sheet that didn't fit and we woke up in the middle of the night realizing we were sleeping on a bare dirty mattress since the ill-fitting sheet had come loose. Why did the ill fitting sheet come loose? Well worn pillows and an uncomfortable mattress had both of us tossing and turning all night. I had an 11am meeting, and so had a wake up call set for 9am. We were so uncomfortable in the room, we were both ready to get out of there and we were gone at 7:30 am. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Lisez la suite

Hotel is located in a great area and the pool was very nice. Be prepared to pay for parking at the hotel. The hotel charges each day for parking. The room was loud at times from the traffic outside. Overall stay was good.

Hotel was very nice. But when I booked the room I was not told about the over night parking rate. I had inquired about cruise parking which was very reasonable, but still at no point did they tell me how much over night partking for the one night we stayed would be. In the end we paid $10 more for our 5 night cruise parking than we did for our 1 over […] night parking in the hotel. We got there about 815pm got settled in and went downstairs for dinner to encounter good food but horrible service. Location is very good, convenient for travellers arriving on Amtrak trains and cruise boat passengers, also a good location for convention patrons. Neighborhood is great, lots of good restaurant choices, and Hattricks Bar is close and a great watering hole. Rays fans can save on parking with a nearby shuttle for St. Pete which takes off from the convention […] center (Escot Coaches). Hotel was good, although we got two doubles which was a surprise, so watch out. Some minor issues, the wall had some water damage and a very small hole in it, but the room was clean and had a microfridge. Overall good experience. Lisez la suite

I booked at the Riverwalk because of the free shuttle. I was told over the phone that I could get picked up from the airport. A day before my arrival into TPA, I called in to see about scheduling a pick up. I was then told that the airport was outside their driving perimeter by about a mile or so. I was upset! I kept thinking I was still staying at […] a four star hotel... it turnd out to be a 3 star at best. Should have gone with a different hotel ! Lisez la suite

We needed a hotel close to the Convention Center and this was one of the options. For the high price we paid the room was outdated, the bathroom was so tiny that only one person could fit in and the bath tub was actually dirty (black marks all over)...we told the receptionist and she just looked at us without a response... My Fiance, brother and his wife went to Tampa for a concert and stayed one day. The staff was very friendly, the cleaning lady was super nice and helpful. We forgot a wine opener and the cleaning lady tracked one down for us. Overall a great experience.

I was delightfully surprised by thiis hotel,particularly in light of several negative reviews found here . I fpersonally found everything to be tip top .I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with coffee in the early morning watching the various college crew teams ,headquartered at the U of Tampa ,training in the river below the hotel. Great rate on this hotel,,, rooms had a balcony overlooking river,, very clean and staff very helpfull. The 5 teenagers that we had with us,, loved this place. From the bell boys to Staff in resturant this place is top notch. Their were 3 weedings at the hotel when we stayed and it was a ball,, no noise just lots of happy people enjoying a great time. […] Did lots of walks staff will tell you all about surrounding area and were to eat but the best prices and food we found were at this hotel. My stay was decent. The hotel has a required valet, which seems ridiculous seeing that overtime you want to get your vehicle you are almost expected tip your valet driver. On the plus side, the drivers were very courteous. The front desk had both good and bad service. The hotel had constant smell of sewage during the duration of our stay, which very […] noticeable by all guests (almost became a common joke overtime someone bored the elevator where it most pungent.) The room was good for the most part, expect for some reason it didn't have a refrigerator. The hotel restaurant was probably the highlight of the stay.
