"HOTEL AGREABLE EN FAMILLE"Avis d'un client Hotels.com envoyé le 7 mai 2012
Hotel très agréable où nous avons aimé le sejour avec notre petite fille de 6 ans.Je vous conseille le petit déjeuner très copieux et typique canadien.Piscine couverte et salle de remise en forme très sympa . Personnel attentif et professionnel par contre éviter le resto du soir, pas terrible.A conseiller dans l'ensemble avec métro à proximité

"Chateau Versailles has seen better days"
I used to stay at this hotel several years ago and remember it being very high end. Unfortunately, the quality has slipped. The bed linens were old and overwashed/overused. The comforter clearly had not been cleaned a while. The room did not have a desck from which I could work. The staff moved me to a different room which was larger but the bed linens […] were in the same condition. Lisez la suite
"Prime location and cozy room"
Adorable hotel, has everything you need. The room was small-ish but complete. Big windows, clean room, quality bath products, stocked mini-bar, pillowy comfy bed, perfect location. The breakfast buffet was yummy and filling, despite the lack of hot items (it offered delicious quiches, toast, deli meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, pastries, and beverages). Be […] wary of the stairs, as there is no elevator, but help was offered with no delay. The lady at the front desk was professional and efficient, while the fellow in the evening was cute and helpful. My overall impression of Chateau Versailles is that of a cozy antique-ish boutique hotel, with all your modern comforts. Lisez la suite

"Visit"
Generally very pleasant and satisfactory. Rates might be 8-10% lower. Breakfast/brunch excellent. Room a little cluttered and cramped. Bed comfortable, staff pleasant and courteous.
"Convenient for Conferences"
This was my second stay at the Chateau Versailles. The staff is friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. It was easy to access my conference at Concordia University, area museums and shops and restaurants, and the Metro. The only thing about this hotel is its ambiguities: it was not clear whether we had booked 1 or 2 double beds until we checked in […] (we got 1 bed, so our toddler slept on the floor, which he had been doing at home anyway), we were not told at check-in how to utilize the daily breakfast that I thought was included in my reservation, and the housekeeping staff was inconsistent about taking and leaving towels--the last night, we had 1 bath towel for 3 guests. Those who use wheelchairs and strollers should also know that this hotel does not have elevators and that Montreal in general appears to be non-accessible. Lisez la suite
"Good value"
Excellent breakfast (included) & huge room, this was comfortable and good value for the price. It is not a large hotel so you won't get views from the window but it is within walking distance of Mont Royal which offers spectacular views of downtown Montreal.
"Needs upgrades"
Bathroom was great; but this is a very old building. Air Conditioning did NOT work, we were very hot at night in May. Can't imagine what middle of summer would have been like. The carpets were stained and dirty, and the bed was god-awful hard. We had two flat feather pillows, but I called to have extra pillows brought in, and they were much better. […] There was good things, though. The breakfast was superb; excellent selection of juices, pastries, cheese and meats, and hard boiled eggs and quiches. Toast and coffee as well. There was also a free computer for hotel guests to use for internet. The staff were also very helpful in finding us good restaurants in the neighborhood. We'd stay again. Lisez la suite
"Like an elegant B & B"
Charming small hotel that's more like a B & B. Historic building, excellent area (close to museums and public transit), pleasant breakfast included. Not for those who like room service, elevators, or well-equipped fitness facilities.
"Versailles-Montreal"
This property is a "boutique" hotel. as such, evidently, it doesn't have to provide amenities that larger hotels provide. Case in point...no elevator. there are many and steep steps to reach the lobby...otherwise the second floor. Then, you have to haul your bags up from there - for us, we were "lucky" enough to get the top floor - the 4th...Our room […] was small, but attractive. the bed was a double...not a queen or larger - so, we were rather "cozier" than planned! the view was of another rooftop, directly accessible from our room, with all the unattractive mechanical accoutrments that support a building below. in that the room was a bit warm, I turned the thermostat down to 65...and we went out. We came back 5 hours later to a room that had reached 85 degrees...their electrician/heating contractor had evidently switched the wiring...and "up" was really down, "down" was really up!! So, I turned the thermostat up to 85 and the heater turned off - but, now, it took hours and hours for the room to cool down (eventually, by morning, to a still hot 75 degrees!). Not a comfortable evening. I mentioned the problem to the desk hostess the next morning, noting how uncomfortable we were aned that we had had minimal sleep...she assured us that our input was appreciated and that they would have the thermostat looked at and fixed...and, "bon voyage!" no mention of "relief" for our unpleasant night. Can you guess? we won't be back! By the way, the breakfast spread was rather nice...and very civilized! Lisez la suite
"Great Location, Friendly Staff"
We had a wonderful stay at the Chateau Versailles. We were on the ground floor with an exit right to street level. This made coming and going with our two dogs very easy. The room was quiet, large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was adequate, served in a lovely, cozy room. Staff was friendly and helpful.
"Wonderful!"
The Good: -Excellent staff: very helpful and knowledgable -Delicious breakfast with good coffee -Comfortable bed -Computer with internet in inconspicuous area -Fantastic location: walking distance to Metro and Bixi stations as well as shopping/eating sites The Not-So-Good: -no elevator (not an issue for us but may be one for others)
"sedate hotel"
good hotel , excellent service. Clean comfortable room with little extras, such as turn down service and the little chocolate. only complaint was our room had little natural light, due to it been semi basement
"Air Conditioning Problems"
We enjoyed the hotel and the great breakfast each morning. The staff was nice and very helpful. The location is an easy walking distance to anywhere downtown, and only 2 blocks to the metro to go anywhere else. Our problems came with the air conditioning. It was not working in the room we were checked into so they gave us another room. The AC worked […] in the new room, but the drain for it backed up getting the carpet all wet. We finished our stay in a third room. Lisez la suite
"Great for the money...Like a B&B with great local and charm"
REALLY nice...romantic and functional. Convenient to metro and bus. $10 to old Montreal in Taxi. Nice neighborhood with store and non touristy area. Nice breakfast, good coffee and NICE PEOPLE. Room was large and comfy and quiet. No elevators, though, so be prepared to lug bags up the entry and to your room. Except may be for th enight receptionist […] who was too busy texting or chatting on computer to even say hello, everyone else was fantastic. Lisez la suite

"Cute room, good location, great price"
Really enjoyed our stay at Chateau Versailles, the location was good near the main shopping district -however a bit of a walk to old montreal. bed was comfy, room was clean & quiet. All and all no complaints. Defintely beats staying at a generic hotel, has the cute "boutique" feel. would stay here again!
"A solid choice"
We booked a deluxe room at the CV for four nights (which gave us 30% off the base rate). The room was perfectly comfortable, not huge, but not too cramped. We were on the third floor, which did mean lugging our suitcases up a couple flights of stairs, but that sort of thing doesn't really bother us. The bathroom was quite small, but the space was maximized […] well with a wraparound counter and mirror. Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries were a definite bonus. Our window looked out onto a courtyard and noise was never a problem. The breakfast offered a good selection including cold cereals, fresh fruit, cold frittatas, sliced cheeses and meats, and some rather disappointing pastries. There is a turndown service; the first night they left us two chocolates, the second night one chocolate, and the third night no chocolate, which we found pretty amusing, if inexplicable. Other than the mysterious chocolate rationing, the staff were perfectly pleasant and helpful. There is occasionally a bellhop; he was there when we checked out, and saved me from lugging my suitcase down the front steps. The neighborhood is quiet, but the metro station is two blocks away, and if you're up for a bit of a walk you can walk pretty much anywhere in the city. Lisez la suite
"Great out of the Ordinary Hotel"
Very good Hotel.. if you want to stay away from chain hotels. and Have a Romantic experience..
"Old World Charm"
This hotel was delightful!
"Little Jem"
Stayed one evening in between visits and enjoyed the chance to see Montreal again. The hotel was well maintained, the staff could not have been more accommodating and the location was great -good part of Montreal. Everything was within walking distance and Old Montreal was only a half hour away and it was a pleasant walk. The breakfast was delicious. […] The only discomfort was due to the air conditioning which was set at a lower temperature than we were used to otherwise the room was comfortable and we had lots of space. We did not ask for this to be changed as we were hardly in. Valet parking is available. Lisez la suite
"Great hotel, great experience"
Hotel Staff: very polite, very helpful Room condition: Small room but really cute and cosy, very clean Breakfast: a lot more than coffee and bagels - great variety Parking: a bit expensive Overall very satisfied, very pleasant stay. I would highly recommend it!
"Outstanding Hotel"
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Versailles. I concur with most of the earlier posted positive reviews. Our room was small, but comfortable, and the service was impeccable. Close by Catherine St. shopping, metro station, Titanic Exhibit. Complimentary b-fast top-notch. Hallways cold due to over-air conditioning, but not in them long. Twenty-four […] dollars a night for valet parking a bit pricey, but perhaps this is the going rate for Montreal. Desk staff courteous & helpful. Some younger members not quite a knowledgeable as more experienced staff. Lisez la suite
"A Wonderful Trip!"
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Chateau Versailles. It was a lovely boutique hotel close to the Musee des Beaux Arts, yet on the fringe of downtown (which made the neighborhood quiet and less touristy). The Parc was also a short distance away. The best part of our stay: the breakfast was phenomenal for the price. It included two kinds of […] frittata, hard-boiled eggs, several breads/pastries, fruits, cheeses, meats, yoghurt, cereal, and a great selection of beverages. Items were fresh and continuously well-stocked (important for us because we usually didn't make it down to breakfast until around 10am). At one point, the door to the fitness center was not working and the staff immediately addressed the problem. I was able to get into the room within 20 minutes. Overall, we would certainly stay here again and recommend the hotel to Montreal travelers. Lisez la suite

"Nice place to stay"
The location was great for accessing the Metro. Plenty of space to accommodate all the guests at breakfast, which was more than bagels and juice. The room was smaller than we were used to but was immaculate. When we asked for an extra pillow, we received it immediately. The front desk staff, while pleasant, were not fully versed in the local attractions. […] We went to the Information Booth in town, who had all that we needed. Upon checkout, the valet saw that I needed to fill up our cooler for the ride home. When I returned back inside the hotel after checking something in the car, the valet was nice enough to fill the cooler for me. The wireless access is not free but the affiliate hotel across the street provides two computers and a printer for free. Lisez la suite
"Wonderful Hotel"

"Chateau Versailles - klassiske kvaliteter"
"Chateu Versailles, Montreal"
