great old world hotel with an even better beach club. get a nice lunch there, just bring your wine and your good to go.......

The only two things I did not like about that:the elevator and it was very hard for me for each time I had to open the door.the key system need to chance.

We loved our stay here. Our stay at the Colony was like stepping back into another era, with all the modern conveniences. It's a beautiful Historically registered Hotel from 1926. The decor is gorgeous and festive, the lobby and front patio is a place to be. Especially on Fri and Sat nights when they have live musicians entertaining there. The Hotel […] lobby bar is a place you'd expect to see Earnest Hemingway knocking back a drink. Please note, I like old hotels. The breakfast buffet was included in the room charge as was hotel parking. The buffet was varied enough with fresh food and good coffee. There is no gym, but there was yoga classes available in an unused open air banquet room. The cabana club is about 1.5 miles away, but very easy to get to with their shuttle or your own rental car. Plenty of parking there as well. The Cabana club lunch menu was delicious. Plenty of towels and chairs etc. The heated pool probably needs to be redone soon, but we spent most of the time on the beach anyway. What really set The Colony apart was the staff. John the front desk manager was great as was Adam. The bartenders and cabana club staff were all very attentive if you needed, otherwise they let you alone. Please note, The Colony allows dogs and there were plenty. I love dogs so it was no big deal for me. There were no problems that I ever saw with any of them. If you are looking to really unwind, downshift your fast lifestyle and transport back into another era, the Colony is the way to go. Lisez la suite

We were so pleasantly surprised with the Colony Hotel accommodations. We needed to stay in Delray for a couple of days while visiting friends and did an Internet search for a place that allowed us to bring our small dog. The Hotel was so clean and lovely with an old-time elegance. The breakfasts were delicious, with choices that my husband and I both […] liked! The staff was pleasant and helpful. The Hotel is in a wonderful location, near shops and restaurants, but not too noisy. We visited the cabana club on the beach each day and our pup went with us. Great place! Lisez la suite

This is such a contrast to the 'modern' hotel and is a lovely place to be in - think pitch-pine floors, real art on the walls, great colour scheme, spacious. The staff are helpful in the extreme - all of them, not just the front desk. The barman at the bar facing directly onto Atlantic Avenue is a whizz. The shuttle to and from the beach club is punctual […] and it gets you to a very nice place indeed, The Cabana Club - where you can take as much sun and as much shade as you like and drop into a saltwater swimming pool whenever you like. There is no extra charge for this. Lunch is available there and is entirely appropriate in terms of variety, quality and price. The Colony is just a block away from my favourite bar/eating place, Johnny Brown's, where on my last visit I caught some fantastic rock music.. Above all, and note this those of you who still read, the Colony Hotel rooms give you PLENTY OF LIGHT unlike those modern boxes that offer you about 5 candlepower. Had good fortune to visit Colony Hotel & Beach Club for 3 nights in March 2011. Internet ad does not do it justice ! Very comfortable, relaxed and easy place to stay in the middle of 100 shops and nice restaurants on the E Atlantic Ave strip in Delray, Florida. Ask for classic double room with king-size bed, preferably in back of hotel. Only 2 stories […] and elevator is manual and run by staff night & day ! Good safe self-parking in back. Nice scene of older and middle aged guests and some very sweet dogs(hotel is dog friendly). Less than 30 minutes from PBI on route 95 and in easy shot of Boca Raton and Palm Beach for day trip or night out. Very nice private Beach Club about 2 minutes away with hotel shuttle or car or 10 minute walk (i.5 miles easy walk)) Beats the newer hotels at the beach by a mile ! Middle Aged Couple Lisez la suite

This hotel is greatly misrepresented in the online pictures and description. It is a very beat building that has been dressed up in pretty, bright colors. To use the elevator, you need a hotel attendant. Much to our surprise, when shown our two bedroom accomodations we discovered it was literally two small bedrooms the size of dorm rooms with a bathroom […] in the middle. The furniture and bedding was very beat and not at all what was shown in the pictures online. No couch or other type of furniture for lounging, no where to fit it.. We originally had planned to stay for four nights and ended up changing hotels after one. . We were able to get a reservation at a beautiful new hotel with much more space for a cheaper price. The Colony Hotel is perfectly positioned in Delray Beach, with bars and restaurants within seconds of walking. The hotel has all the flavour of a 1926 built hotel with an interesting staff operated lift. The beach club is a real bonus with a great pool and facilities positioned right on the beach.
