Bien situé, acceuil correct, le matelas un peu fatigué, petit dejeuner trés bon niveau,dommage pas de correspondant en français. appréciation global trés satisfaisant
bien situé, près du château et de old town. Seul défaut à mes yeux : la climatisation (soufflerie permanente) insupportable la nuit car trop bruyante.

le personnel est vraiment très serviable. la déco et l'état de propreté de l'hotel laissent à désirer mais le confort de ma chambre était juste génial. si vous cherchez un hôtel en ville, je ne le recommande pas car il est un peu excentré et se trouve dans une rue ou sont regroupés un bon paquet de bars à strip tease

Bon hotel, moderne, propre personnel efficace evitez les chambres coté rue, toujours un peu bruyant. bon rapport qualité/ prix a 10 minutes a pied du chateau d'Edinburgh

La chambre est plus qu'a rafraichir ! Particulierement la salle de bain, les robinets et la douche vraiment pas fonctionnelle. Tres surprenant (decevant) pour un tel hotel. A eviter.

"Perfect location in Edinburgh's Old Town"
Do not expect top-of-the-ranks quality, but the rooms are comfortable enough. Also, our room on the 4th floor had a splendid view on the Castle. Grassmarket, with all it's nice pubs, is only a few hundred metres away. Also, the Royal Mile was only a nice, 10-15min, walk through the Old Town of Edinburgh away. One drawback: the breakfast wasn't that […] great, too little value for money, but in the end it didn't really bother us: on the way to Grassmarket are very nice cafes where you can enjoy a delicious (cheaper than in the hotel) breakfast! Loved it. Staff was very friendly and helped us with all questions we had. They were quick to look stuff up for us and answer all of our many questions about Edinburgh. Loved our stay
"ideal location"
Hotel ideally situated for the city. Room was airy and comfortable with a good view of the back of the Castle. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss on the second morning we were there though as I don't think there were enough staff on duty to maintain full service. Tables were left uncleared and lots of cutlery items, crockery and in fact foods on the buffet […] breakfast seemed to running out a lot more than I would consider acceptable. "Great location."
Had a bit of a mix up with the booking at the start but the staff were extremely apologetic and gave us a free lunch to make up for it and were very helpful and genuinely nice for our whole stay. We really enjoyed our stay and the hotel was within easy walking distance to everything. Really enjoyed our stay at the point hotel. The decor was interesting. The corridors were similar to an art gallary space which made the hotel very unique and memorable. The room was small but had everything we needed. The only disappointing thing was that the windows dont open so the room was very stuffy. The location was excellent. "Very outdated rooms, mold in the shower curtain"
We had booked a two night stay in this hotel but had to leve after the first night. Staff was very friendly and defintively wanted to help. The problem was they did not have any of the remodeled rooms hence we got one of the other ones. Room size was ok the problem for us was the bathroom. It was in need of a serious upgrade, there were stains in the […] bathtub and our showecurtain had mold... Staff was very sorry to hear we were not satisfied bunt there was nothing they could do so we left to another beautiful apart hotel that was only a few pounds more. Lisez la suite

Stayd five nights during a conference. The room was Ok, but not high standard. The location is perfect, very near the old part of the city. The most negative thing wasthe poor isolation of the door, so sounds and voices from the corridor were disturbing late in the evening and night.

Reception staff very efficient and professional Room was clean but a little tired but I believe they are in the process of decorating all the rooms. Breakfast which was included in the price of the hotel was excellent. Overall I would recommend this hotel which is good value for money and close to all attractions.

Hotel in a great location,just half a mile from the castle,but just enough off the town centre to be quiet.Staff very friendly,Breakfast a bit pricey but plenty of eating places close by.Converted from a local Co-Op,Sean Connery used to work here for 15 years delivering milk.Wife happy about that.All in all a highly recommended mid budget hotel with […] a great location. Excellent location, very helpful staff, good breakfast, room with the view of the castle as requested. Reception staff very knowledgeable of where to go and what to do. Would definatley recommend to anyone and will go again.
"Too run down"
Although the room rates were cheap due to winter season, the room and the surronding were kind of shabby and run down. On top of that, it was noisy due to the closeness of the rooms.

We had an excellent weeked-end and did not want to come home. The location of the hotel was excellent. We had a superior room with a castle view. We had a lovely time at our recent stay and would recommend the breakfast as kept us full up till tea. The lobby and bar are outstanding, the corridors could be brighter. The hotel was in a great location, cannot fault the hotel or the food or our room, staff was welcoming and alway helpful, the food in the hotel was excellent and very good value. the towels in the room was fluffy and white, the bedding was also of good quality. a very enjoyable stay and would stay again without hesitation.

We could not fault this hotel.The value for money was amazing. The room we had was lovely, the staff were great. The location was good. All in all we had a lovely 2 day break and would definately go back again.

The hotel comes across a little rundown and in need of a bit of tending loving care... our shower leaked, the water kept going cold, and the shower curtain rail was rusty. Very good location, though, and very reasonable!

"Acceptable"
For location this is excellent and a couple of minutes walk from the old town. Easy to get into and out on the A702. Restaurant and bar are modern and reasonable. Bedrooms are somewhat tired but reasonably clean, corridors are awful. For what we paid it was reasonable and we would recommend but just don't expect the Ritz.

We spent three nights with my husband at the point hotel. It is a decent place at a very convinient area of the city; we went sightseeing on foot - the castle, the royal mile, the new town, the palace - parliament etc, all these places are in walking distance. Airport is 15 mins by airlink 100 bus (I found this info from another member's review, thank […] you!). Breakfast was delicious, but we did not eat at the hotel's restaurants any other courses as we were out all day long. We booked a room with castle view, but from the 3rd floor the view is not so nice - there are other tall buildings between! so, don't waste your money for view. "Good For A Place To Sleep - Great Staff"
Great hotel staff made the stay worthwhile. Room was large. Complaints were few tv channels, bathroom could use a paintjob, and noise at night from street. Pros - great location, great views, great staff, good food/drink offers. Would recommend for a nice place to sleep but without a huge hotel price.

Close to all interesting sights
"Adequate, but uninspiring"
I only stayed at The POint for one night, and was out most of the time, so my impressions are based on only a very short time awake in the hotel! The check-in staff were very polite and efficient, and the bar/restaurant area looked very pleasant. The Point is an old converted warehouse/store building and the interior ambience is somewhat lacking as […] a result. The internal hallways are a bit prison-like and could do with a bit of brightening up. My room was long an narrow with an outlook into the back of other buildings, although this did make it very quiet despite the city centre location. The room it self was quite comfortable, although the long narrow shape meant if didn't lend its self to relaxation. There was small TV an large sofa but it felt odd sitting looking across the narrow room. The decor was Ok but uninspiring; bathroom small but clean and everything worked OK Lisez la suite

Overall great stay. Price in winter seemed to be just right. Stayed for one night, couldn't be happier. Very large room, tall ceilings, great view!

Just got back from my 3 night stay here, the hotel is in a great location for getting to places and the prices very reasonable, the room was very spacious and looked great, we stayed in a superior castle view room which also included a very comfy leather sofa to relax on, the beds were also comfy. The staff were all friendly and really helpful, really […] good selection at breakfast for all needs. Only downside was the shower could never maintain it's temperature, we had to do the Hokey Cokey in and out of hot / cold water, there was however a bath option, and all in all I would say this small downside was outweighed by the rest. Good location walking distance to all main sights. Staff very welcoming & helpful. Rooms rather spartan but our superior castle view room was a good size & had all we needed.

Twin room we booked was very spaciuos with a full length leather coach at the end of the room for relaxing on. Breakfast was very good - lotsof choice.
