"Mount Vernon Hotel Baltimore"

"Breakfast included woaw!"
Nice classic style hotel. The included breakfast is a great deal! Two block away of the train that brings you to camden yards to see a baseball game. One of the most beautiful stadiums to see a game.
"Slumming"
Locations was dangerous , hotel not clean,no hot water, bad parking, if you get there late no parking,NO breakfast, not even coffee.no kids Chanel's
The hotel was very nice and convenient. Breakfast was very mediocre and the soda machine was broken. While eating, I was approached by a woman who walked in off the street, asking for money. We'll probably stay at the hotel again, but will definitely go somewhere else for breakfast!
Good location. Walked to the Inner Harbor. Close to a lot of historical sights. Good buffet breakfast. Front desk was very helpful.
"Good Hotel"
The Mount Vernon Hotel was very reasonable. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. I stayed there for a conference at the convention center, which is a 0.6 mi walk on N. Charles St. Parking in Baltimore has become expensive, but the parking garage across the street seemed to be more reasonable than others. The area in front of the hotel and […] down N. Charles St. seemed safe and there are many restaurants on N. Charles St. Breakfast was provided, but I didn’t partake. The complementary wireless internet connection was fast. I enjoyed dinner at Lumbini’s Nepalese & Indian at 322 N. Charles St. I would stay at this hotel again! Lisez la suite
"Very Happy and Enjoyable!"
I was in town for two days with my 4yr old son. The location and price led me to this hotel. The room was very cozy and comfortable. My son slept well and liked his bed. Many of the reviews I read complained about the age of this hotel. That is a useless complaint since the hotel is older. That is exactly why enjoyed it. I was able to get parking on […] site at the hotel. That is a HUGE factor in downtown. When I go back to Baltimore, I will stay here again! Lisez la suite
"TEMPERATURE"
The heating system switched to air conditioning on some very chilly evenings. The hotel is an old historic building, leaving us with only one option: heat or air conditioning. They switch to air conditioning perhaps too weeks too soon. Other than that, the place was perfect.
"Convenient location to downtown and inner harbor"
Very good and comfortable, but no gym and business center. Nice breakfast but time of opening is short.
"Good hotel for a weekend to visit the Inner Harbor"
This hotel isn't fancy, but it was nice, clean, and comfortable. There was plenty of parking right near the hotel for a good price. The free breakfast at the cafe was a nice addition too!
Due to overbooking, we did not stay at the Mt Vernon hotel as planned. We were redirected to a Marriott and had a wonderful stay there. Excellent hotel and excellent service!
"Best low-cost option for downtown Baltimore"
The nightly cost of this hotel was far below other, more historic hotels in the area, but it's a perfect hotel if you intend to spend most of your time in Baltimore on foot sightseeing. Right next to the Baltimore Bascilica, and easy walk to Poe's grave, and only about 20 minutes walking to the inner harbor down Charles St. For longer excursions you […] can easily pick up a city bus or the free-of-charge Charm City Circular on nearby Charles St. However, this hotel is probably not for you if your aim is to relax and luxuriate. The breakfast restaurant inside the hotel is not very good, there's no pool, and the tv has limited channel options. However, for a cheap, adequate stay for the purpose of checking out sites outside of the hotel, you can't find a better location! Lisez la suite
"Close to event"
Very good deal for the price/
"Great breakfast included!!!"
everyone was friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to may places to eat. We saw a show at the Meyerhoff, it was about 5 easy blocks away. Hit a great little Irish pub O'sheas for happy hour, real neighborhood kind of place. We had a great time on a budget!!!!

"a lovely old hotel w/ great old-fashioned service"
My family stayed here for one night in the midst of a long four-city trip, spending only one day in Baltimore. First off, we arrived at the hotel very early, about 9:30 am and they accomodated us and allowed us to check in. Also, the clerk at the desk offered our parking options to us and advised since we could park and leave our car since we'd be walking […] to the inner harbor, to park in the lot across the street for five dollars less, which of couse, he didn't have to do. The only odd thing was that we didn't know MD state law would require the hotel to charge for a microwave rental, but we were prepared w/ other options so it wasn't a big deal to us. The beds were a bit stiff compared to where we stayed the night before, but not horrible (and I have a bad back). The best part was breakfast...a REAL HOT breakfast w/ lots of options. My son (who is nine but eats like a 15 year old and is the size of a bean-pole) could eat as much as he desired and I got to eat the yogurt and cereal that I wanted...lots of variety...and we all took apples for the road! I loved the convenience of the hotel and how beautiful it was, a real attribute to the "olden days" of hotel class and glamour, but without the huge overhead costs! The area was fine, and we felt safe, it seems that the city is really trying to develop the area. Overall, we fell in love w/ the city in our 24 hour stay there's so much that Baltimore has to offer..and when we do, we will ABSOLUTELY stay here!!!! Lisez la suite

"Mt. Vernon hotel Baltimore"
Hotel was in a great location, very close to inner harbor and the symphony hall. Very reasonable prices! Only issue I had was that not all of the furniture had been dusted.
"Does the trick"
This hotel is nothing fancy, but it is clean enough, cheap enough, and close enough to everything. I used to live in Baltimore -- on the same block -- so I do have a comfort level with the city in general and the surrounding neighborhood in particular, but this is one of the safer locations in Baltimore. Some other hotel guests seemed mystified on where […] to find food/drink nearby. For that, I suggest walking up Charles St. On the other side of the monument, you will find more action than you will walking toward the harbor. Lisez la suite
"pleasantly surprised"
I was not expecting much given the price but the rooms was very large and clean. The food was fine. It was a short walk to the Inner Harbour.
"Convenient and Friendly Service!"
With Parking just downstairs (be sure to call to reserve in advance), restaurants and lounges within walking distance, I would highly recoomend. This was the prefect rest stop for my busy weekend downtown!
Our visit to the Mt. Vernon Hotel was quite enjoyable. The walk to the harbor was not a bad walk. Breakfast at the hotel was convenient and tastey. My onlu suggestion would be for them to replace the pillows- they were a bit flat. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
"The Mount Vernon Hotel - Baltimore"
Good proximity to cool restaurant strip. Otherwise, the hotel was average. Front Desk personnel were pleasant.
"Poor Lighting in the room, and no table."
The lighting was very poor...only one small bulb by the beside (besides the bathroom light and the small bulb by the door. There was no table or flat surface on which to place your personal items.
"Baltimore on a budget"
Good hotel for a great price in a great location
"About what I expected..."
Given the price in comparison to others in the downtown area it was what I expected. Fair overall with the exception of the staff all were very nice and helpful. Only I major complaint ...no hot water on the night and next morning when we were there. Hotel posted signs in lobby and elevator that city was doing maitenance on the line so the pressure […] for the hot water was affected. I didn't buy it...cold water had plenty of pressure and what municipal water authority provides hot water? Lisez la suite
"Great Bargain"
We visited Baltimore to watch an Orioles game and was looking to not spend a fortune on a hotel room. We found this for a great bargain. It was walking distance to the stadium and an $8 can ride home. Breakfast was good. Next time I go to Baltimore I will look into this hotel again.

"Mt. Vernon Hotel in Baltimore"
The hotel is a little worn and but it does provide a great breakfast to start the day. The room we stayed in was ok. The website stated that we would have 2 queens and we actually had 2 doubles. No biggie for 2 people but could be uncomfortable for 4. As I was checking for bedbugs (yes, I do that) I lifted the mattress on one of the beds and founds […] a pair of sunglases staring back at me. Wasn't my bed so I wasn't real concerned but I did let my roommate know that she had sunglasses under her mattress. The pros are: good breakfast and the parking garage acroos the street (stayed from Thursday evening - Saturday evening and it only cost $20). The cons: a little worn and a little bit longer of a walk to the convention center than some other hotels. Lisez la suite
"Pretty Nice"
I enjoyed the all inclusive breakfast accomodations the most. Hot eggs, sausage, grits, juice, pastries, cereal and the seating area was nice as well. Some other guests were rowdy and caused bumping and noise during the night but overall the stay was great. My biggest complaint was that i had no remote control to my television so i had to walk back […] and forth to the tv to change channels. Lisez la suite

"Great location"
We have stayed here a few times, and each time it was an enjoyable stay, especially for people on a budget. Although it is not right on the Inner Harbor, it is within walking distance to all the great sights, at less than half the cost of the Inner Harbor hotels. The staff has always been friendly to us and goes out of their way to help with any requests. […] We enjoy staying here very much! Lisez la suite

"Disappointed atlantian"
Reviews claimed it had been remodeled, can't imagined what it looked like before. They had no room service and couldn't get any one to help with my bags. Wish I had of paid the extra money for a hotel chain at least I would have known what to expect. Not very sanitary.
"The Mt Vernon is a great value with nice amenities"
Older, well kept, affordable, clean, friendly, good breakfast. Pretty nice restaurants within walking distance. Parking deck across the street. Some areas around the hotels neighborhood are a little spooky at night. Hotel owner could have paid better attention to the hotels historic architectural interior character (It would be a draw for business). […] Small lobby. Withing walking distance of the waterfront/harbor (down the hill). Compared to the waterfront hotels, the Mt Vernon is a great value. Lisez la suite
"A hotel worthy of this beautiful neighborhood."
I fell in love right away with both the hotel and the neighborhood, which is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The nearby park, featuring the original Washington Monument, is as nice as any I saw in London or anywhere else. You couldn't ask for a better location; Charles Street, with its many shops, cafés and restaurants, is maybe a two-minute […] walk from the hotel. Inner Harbor is further away, but it's still walking distance if you like a good, long stroll. But back to the hotel itself. Both my room and the public spaces (lobby, hallways, etc) were very, very clean. The rooms are not huge, but they're adequate, with nice, modern bathrooms. The room décor will not win any awards, but it's kind of homey and respectable-looking. The bed was very comfortable, and the linens were soft and high-quality. The staff at the Mount Vernon were unanimously friendly, courteous, and professional, from the front desk clerks (Keisha was wonderful) to the housekeeping crew. I didn't have any issues or problems during my stay, but I feel confident that, if I had, they would have been resolved quickly and completely. Now, a few caveats about staying here. Baltimore is a large, urban city and it generates a fair amount of street noise, which bleeds into the hotel (and probably into every hotel in the area). It wasn't a big issue for me, but it's something to keep in mind. Also, you may encounter a panhandler or homeless person or two, but by and large, it's a very safe area, even at night. "Great In town getaway"
