Hôtel très bien situé, à 500m de gaslamp ( très sympa pour aller faire la fête). La chambre où nous étions était très confortable. Je le recommande fortement.

Excellent établissement, très bien situé. Qualité d'accueil et de services remarquables et propreté des chambres et de l'hôtel à noter. Un plus non négligeable : à notre départ, transfert gratuit à l'aéroport de San Diego par la navette de l'hôtel. Un seul tout petit bémol : le système de chauffage (ventilation) n'est pas adapté à un chauffage rapide de la chambre (si nécessaire).

"Night before Sea World"
As usual the front desk staff was extraordinary - Adam, MOD. The only disappointment...I expected free wi-fi in my room because I had it in September when I was there. I have stayed in cheaper hotels that had free wi-fi in the rooms. Small item unless you need it and find it is going to cost a high fee to get it. At first appearance the hotel seems great. We checked in only to find out we owed an additional fee for parking. We had been told when we booked that it was included in the price we already paid. We got to our room to find we didn't have the fridge and microwave as the description said we would. We needed that since we have a baby that needs her bottles. […] They switched us to another room that did have a fridge. The fridge didn't work. They brought us another fridge but it froze everything and we could not turn the temperature down. The bath tub did not drain, the toilet had a lingering smell, the sheets are what my husband calls paper sheets. They are very stiff and hard. When we went to use the hot tub and pool they were so dirty. They were allowing drunks to be in the pool with their alcohol even though it was supposed to be a family place. I couldn't let my toddler come with us because their were cigarettes and empty beer cans all over the place. When we asked the front desk about taking care of the mess they kind of blew it off. It was extremely disappointing. Last thing we hated was the fact that we had to pay extra for wifi. That only covered one devise. We both have iPads but had to pay a fee for each iPad each day. Check in and out process was great. Resturant was good but pricey service was a bit slow. But we were on vacation so we didn't care. Our bathroom door would not close. No big deal for us. "Great hotel"
I have been a meeting planner for ten years and I wasn't expecting much for a one night stay in a three star hotel. The service was excellent, the sushi bar exceeded expectation and the location and convenience to SDSU were great. Good job to all on staff. "Paid WAY too much for this place!"
This hotel needs a face lift really bad! Other issues: First, Pet Fee is outrageous! Granted Expedia FAILED to disclose the $75 (plus TAX!) Pet Fee on the website, but seriously $75? If I knew they charged that much, I would have NEVER booked this hotel. Second, parking fee $12 per car! Maybe it wouldn't hurt much if THE PARKING SPOTS WERE NOT SO NARROW! […] We have a Mini Countryman and when other people parked next to us, we could barely get in. That should give you an idea of how narrow the spaces are! Third, they made us pay another $12 so that my sister, who was visiting, can park in their lot. I don't think they had any FREE (meaning no charge) spots for people not staying there. If they did, well they certainly did not offer them to us. Fourth, I thought this was a hotel where you go thru a formal lobby then take an elevator to your room and such. When I was told we have to drive to the very back of the hotel and we park right outside, I knew then that it's one of those cheapy, 1 or 2 star hotel type with the door faces right out in the open. I did not feel safe leaving our dog in the room by himself at all! Fifth, they charge for WiFi. Sixth, didn't appreciate how front supervisor that checked us in acted when I said Expedia failed to disclose the pet fee. She was somewhat like "not our fault". Could have at least said "oh I'm sorry about that. Unfortunately the pet fee is in our policy"...something to make me feel better but instead just kinda put down even more! "Bad plumbing at the hotel"
Check-in process was ok, however when I got to the room, I noticed that one of the two sinks in the room were clogged with water in them. When I used the second sink it never drained and the water just accumulated in the sink. I proceeded to call the front desk who had maintenance and fixed the problem. This was pretty inconvenient because I was in […] a rush to get to a meeting. Soon thereafter I noticed the toiled was clogged as well, so I had to call again to get the issue resolved. "Lousy hotel"
Front desk staff was rude and uncaring. Room was cold due to door opening to outside. I was told I would be charged $12 for parking so I was surprised to get a bill for $12 a day for my 3 day stay. Breakfast buffet sucked and was too expensive.Avis véridique Expedia

This hotel is located in an area with many hotel options from Double Tree to Motel 6 right next door. The location is amazing though, central to everything in SD.This property is clean but is dated. I was hoping for more of a vacation/resort experience based on the pictures and room rate. That was not the case, I could have paid about half for the same […] quality of room in several other hotels in "Hotel Circle". The staff was friendly and it is a pet freindly hotel which is nice but if you don't want a room on the bottom floor it is an additional $45.00 a night if you have a pet. Also I still don't understand the $12.00 parking fee at this place. There is no parking deck just a huge lot that you would park in for free at many other hotels. "it could've been worse"
Night manager/supervisor was incompetent! Had to switch rooms because the heating and AC could not be fixed. At the beginning of my stay only the AC was operating. The first time staff came out to fix the heating in order to enable it and during that remedy somehow the AC stopped working. I didn't find that out until I came back from a dinner and the […] room was super hot and at that point tried to activate the AC and it wasn't working. The night shift manager wanted to send a technition to my room at 11pm and at that point I wasn't to confident in their technical maintenance department so I asked if there was another option and she offered a room, which was ok with me. It took 60 minutes for her to call me with a room. During that time I called her twice to inquire about my room. At that point all she could offer me due to the inconvenience was a free breakfast that I wasn't able to redeem because I was checking out a 5am and breakfast starts at 6. Wow! They checked us into a dirty, uncleaned room. It has not been cleaned from the previous occupant. Then they transferred us to a room that smelled like urine. We had to wait for an hour or so before someone was able to resolve the issue and move us to a clean room. We had a very pleasant experience, and of course, I recommend this hotel. Service was great. They gave us an unactivated key, and they immediately delivered a new one to one of our rooms. "Disapointing to see decline"
We stayed at this hotel at least 3 times before. Pool was not useable as it was not heated. The jacuzzi was dirty - gross. There were people partying below our hotel room, I tried calling 4 times and the front desk was continually busy - so no help in getting some quiet. I think the people below us were smoking marijuana. Constant door slamming woke […] us up throughout the nights. Koi fish were gone - which is something our family really enjoyed in previous other visits. Mattress was not comfortable. Seems they are cutting back at this hotel. Sad to see the decline. "Needs renovation"
The common areas, i.e., the lobby, restaurants off lobby area had terrible smelled of a need to rip out the carpeting and paint the place. I liked the Island decor but needs updating. Bathroom in lobby were surprisingly clean. Who thought you would need to go into a bathroom to escape the smell! The staff was excellent and very accomodating. They charged […] per day for internet access which made me have to leave the hotel and lug my laptop to the mall. Unless you could access a AT&T Hotspot you had to pay. No common area free internet. Not very hospitable.Pool was very clean and well kept. Unless they replace all the carpets and paint the entire lobby/restaurant area I will not stay there again. Not impressed with the level of service. The 2nd day of my stay, I ran errands most of the day, got back to my room around 3:00 pm thinking it would have been made up by housekeeping by then. I thought wrong. They showed up after 4:00 pm, at which time I was on a business call, so I couldn't have them cleaning at that time. The next day I left my room […] at 6:30 am for meetings. When I got back at 6:30 pm (12 hours later) the room STILL hadn't been cleaned. Also, the room directory stated their coffee bar opened at 5:30 am. Since the in-room coffee was terrible and only made a single cup, I decided to go to the coffee bar. Walking into the lobby, I asked hotel staff where the coffee bar was located. They informed me it doesn't open until 6:30. I mentioned the directory saying 5:30 and their response was that the directory hadn't yet been updated. "A decent place to stay"
I liked the location of the hotel in Hotel Circle. Very close to the freeway and downtown. Paying for parking seemed a bit much at $12/day. The pool area and restaurant were good. We first visited there in the early 60's. My wife was at the pool while the palm trees were being put into place in the lawn by cranes. We took our children there and one of them celebrated her honeymoon there. This time she and her husband stayed in the same room while her sister took another room. "Got my money's worth"
Definitely got what I paid for - no 5 star hotel nor is it a roach motel either. First the GOOD: Service was great from check-in to check-out was great including the restaurant. Accomodatation was not so bad (see below). Buffet was awesome if you paid for it upfront. Now the bad: Climate control in the room needs to be serviced.
