Older place, but good value for the price.

Went to UCSC Spring Preview and stayed at this hotel for one night. Yes the lady @ the front desk was a little awkward, but the room was super clean. This place is not luxurious, a bit old, but super clean inside and out. Continental breakfast was nice, just make sure to go early to avoid a line. Hotel is right across the street from the best ice cream […] spot in SC and a nice coffee shop. Also very close to downtown/boardwalk and UCSC. It's and older hotel but nice and clean rooms. also the staff was very nice.

There were two things that I liked and those two were the location and that the room was clean however, I was extremely disappointed about the lack of WiFi connection and for me and my daughter who is a college student internet connection is vital. We called the front office for help and the clerk was either inexperienced in that area and she was unable […] to find another person who could help us. There were other times I called the front counter to ask a question and found out later that I was misinformed, so basically the major issues I had with Quality Inn Santa Cruz is that they don't have qualified employees which simply makes it frustrating for us as customers. By the way before making reservations with Quality Inn I did in fact make inquiries about whether they have WiFi or not and whether they serve continental or complementary breakfast, both times like I said I was misinformed making me feel lied to. The hotel was clean, beds comfortable, lots of t.v. channels including HBO, there was a microwave and refrigerator in the room and a decent continental breakfast (waffles, boiled eggs, danish & muffins, cold cereal and juice and apples& bananas, instant oatmeal and decent coffee) There is a coffee shop accross the street if you want something fancier. […] Furniture a bit run down. If you're booking this hotel, you're looking for a reasonably priced, conveniently located place to crash for a night or two. This hotel offers just that, and while it doesn't wow with decor or amenities, it was well-kept, clean, and didn't wreak of mold or anything else like many other hotels in this class reviews' indicated. The continental breakfast […] offers something sufficient to eat but nothing that will highlight your trip. Overall, this hotel is a value considering what you pay and is a decent place to rest while you're in town if you're choosing among the older (somewhat renovated) hotels along Ocean. The staff was very professional and accommodating when we asked to move to another room because the shower head wasn't spraying enough water. Charging $14 for WiFi is excessive. It is free in most establishments that have it.

Clean, cheap, fridge and microwave in room. Close to restaraunts, store. Good continental breakfast. Would recommend.

Our stay at Santa Cruz was excellent. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was good with variety of fresh choices including waffles made on the spot (always my favorite part of continal breakfast). Only complaint is they asked for a credit card for deposit which wasn't told to us by hotel.com staff. My mother had paid as a gift.

This hotel is a good choice for a place to stay in Santa Cruz. Does need a redo, but is comfortable and clean.

The hotel it self looks terrible! But inside the rooms is okay and clean. if you are looking for some cheap hotel and do not care how it looks. But a block away from it you can find better ones almost the some price. If I could I would exchange.

This hotel was expensive for what you get. It is in a good location.

I wanted a place to stay that was clean, in a safe area and not too expensive. Quality inn was the place. I had a group of 7 people and we got 3 rooms. The room was clean, however the bathroom fixtures needed some repair. The shower rod was loose and so was the shower head. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would stay again for the night.

The pillows were small and the TV remote control is dirty that has tape around it. Toilet didn't flush right.

Several people "flamed" this place, but we found it quite adequate for our needs, though it is humble. The management was courteous and our room, while showing signs of wear, suited our needs well with a low price and convenient location. We would stay there again under the same circumstances.

chosen for cost and convenience for travels. On main road into town, Little bit cautious late at night but never hassled. typical motel, outside corridors. Room very basic but all in working order, small breakfast area in lobby, and small pool behind main office. All a bit shabby but easy to get in and out of town. Are stay at the hotel could have been better. The manager and the people working at the desk did not have the best adittude and welcome that we deserved. I doubt that we will be returning back to that hotel.

The title says basically what's good about the hotel, but don't expect much more than that. It's not really close to the beaches, so basically a place to stay overnight with a car.

Santa Cruz is a resort town and as such is very expensive in the summer. The Quality Inn is located conveniently to downtown and other areas of Santa Cruz. It provides a very good value. While an older facility that is showing its age in some ways, the rooms are large and comfortable. They have cable TV, and refridgerator and microwave, and a nice bathroom. […] It would be a good place for an extended stay. My only compliant is that the ceiling was not soundproofed enough, and the people upstairs were very noisy walkers. This location is convenient because of its location right off the freeway. It is an older property and soundproofing does NOT exist. The front desk personnel is friendly and helpful but the breakfast was another story. The seating was VERY limited. We had to bring food back to our room and my daughter wanted another bowl of cereal. It was still before […] the time the breakfast was supposed to be over but nobody refilled empty containers. We stayed one night. The motel was clean, quiet, comfortable, convenient. There is a place to eat within a block. Good value for the price.

A very simple motel, with nice indian family staff. Extremely simple, and a breakfast with almost nothing to offer. Also, th breakfast room was about 100 sqfeet, and had three tables

we stayed two nights here and was worth the money for sure. really good dinner in very short walking distance. may stay closer to downtown and or boardwalk next time though.

after we figured out how to keep the fridge plugged in because the outlets needed to be replaced it was not a bad couple of nights. Pretty far from the boardwalk but we hoofed it 10 blocks to walk around and then to downtown too,which was not a bad walk from the hotel. extremely cool ice cream pallor across the street, some of the best ice cream i have […] ever had. would stay here again for the price but may stay closer to all the attractions of this beautiful town. If you need to stay in "pricey Santa Cruz" this hotel is perfect. Pleasant surroundings, pool is nice, lots of family's and the price is right. We have stayed there several times.

My family and I spent three days at this motel. Can't beat their prices. Place is clean, and is located close to the boardwalk.

The hotel is really small. The swimming pool was supposed to be heated, but it's not. The staff doesn't know how to turn on the heat for the swimming pool. The sheets for the beds are dirty. The beds are not comfortable. Over-all... BAD experience.. will never stay at this hotel ever again.

All I can say is that my friend and I are sooooo glad we picked Quality Inn Santa Cruz for our stay.....the room was great ,pretty simple and clean just what we needed..and customer service was just outstanding....and the people at front desk were ready to help AND with a smile : )

This place was ok. Good sized room. A bit outdated, but functional.

The only thing I thought is lacking is the workout room. The swimming is nice but didn't get to use it.

This hotel was very easy to find and in walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The young woman at the counter was very helpful. The only problem I had was not being told (at check in) that check out time was 11am. I like to travel so I've stayed in a lot of hotels and all of them were a check out time of 12pm. Its a good location, surrounded by restaurants and close to Boardwalk...Very clean and bigger rooms compared with other hotels on Ocean Street. Good Breakfast :)

The room was clean and had a good amount of space. The pillows were very uncomfortable but the bed was nice. The walls are pretty thin but all in all it was generally quiet - although we did come during a slow time.

The Quality Inn Santa Cruz was fine for the one night that I spent there. Reception staff was very friendly. Room was clean and very large. The only negative I have is that the heater in the room wasn't working, and it was quite chilly... but to be fair, It was late and I was too tired to ask anyone to come fix it.
