Super 8 Motel Portage - Portage

Immaculate room, bath and dining area. Hallways super clean. Free breakfast typical - nothing fancy, but sufficient. Friendly staff. One plus for fresh air lovers - our room on the 2nd floor had a window that opened -- was so nice during a Spring rain to have fresh air. We stayed here to be close to nearby Cascade Mountain, and found the hotel to be close, comfortable, and friendly. The staff was very warm and welcoming, the pool a great way to unwind after a day on the slopes, and the rooms comfortable.

The staff was very welcoming and polite. The room was spotless, comfortable and had a good energy about it.

This hotel is fine if you are staying in Portage. I stay here every time I come to town.

Everything was great nice and quiet and everything you need is right by u less then five minutes away. Their is walmart Kmart and over ten restaurants and walgreens and gas stations.

This hotel is just what you'd expect from a Super 8. There was nothing fancy about it but the hotel was very clean and the staff did a great job getting us settled in. I would stay at this property again when I'm in the area.

The hotel was one of the cleanest hotels i have ever stayed at. The price was good and the people were very nice. Rooms were spotless and very cozy so i would give this whole hotel a 10 out of 10 Its that good.

the hotel itself wasnt too bad. just a couple of issues. such as the hotel smelling like stail cigarette smoke and the refrigerator smelling like fish.but on the other hand the breakfast was good and it was in a convinient location next to alot of stores and resturants.

We were vacationing in the Dells. Since we knew we would be getting in to town late we didn't want to pay top dollar for that first night. The Super 8 in Portage was only 25 minutes from our final destination and we saved $300 by staying there the first night! The rooms were nice but they smelled kind of like musty, the air when turned up would smell like something burning. Overall the stay was great but you really should have microwaves in each room because it really is a pain to have to go the lobby. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Was in very good location to go to dinner and close to Walmart when we needed to run over to get a few things. The only thing we disliked was the crowd of people that gathered outside our window late at night and made lots of noise shouting, and revving up their cars and motorcycles. The […] hotel staff made no attempt to quiet these people down although we complained, as did several other guests as they were doing this in the hotel parking lot... Before booking I read a lot of reviews about this hotel and others. This Super 8 happened to be relatively close and reasonably priced for the Wedding I was attending that day. I paid when I booked on Hotels.com but when we arrived they told me my card was declined. I had forgotten which card I paid with, so I used my check card at the desk. Took over 2 hours to check in. I am pretty confident that the front desk staff is only there to hinder your comfort and prevent you from having a pleasant hotel stay. Room was subpar, and for how cheap this room was...believe it or not you still won't get what you paid for. You can hear all the noise from the surrounding rooms and hallway. Located only about 5-10 minutes from Cascade Ski hill, I thought this motel was just about as good as a hotel! Everything you really need for an over-nighter. Beds were clean and comfortable. Shower and bath area was just what you'd expect in any hotel. The only problem I had was with the toilet in room 210 kept running so i had to lift the lid off […] and put the flapper back down after everytime using it. Other than that, the stay was great and the breakfast was even better than expected! Cereal, bagels/toast/english muffins, waffle maker, fresh coffee and orange juice... I have family in Portage, & my wife & I had come up for the weekend to help them move. We had booked our room on short notice but had no trouble getting a reservation; on our arrival the front desk was attentive & friendly, and had no trouble finding our reservation & providing us with our room keys & directions to our room. The room itself was very […] clean & well-kept, & remained so for the duration of our stay; a call to the front desk to request extra pillows was handled promptly & courteously. The vending machines were well-stocked & in good working order (though there were also numerous options for grabbing a quick bite nearby), & the room's soundproofing prevented us from hearing any noise from nearby rooms. Hot water was in ample supply, the hotel's Wi-Fi gave us no difficulties, & the continental breakfast was quite tasty (we especially enjoyed the spiced pumpkin lattes on a frosty November morning). All in all this was a very enjoyable & relaxing stay, at a competitive price; I would definitely stay here again & recommend it to anyone looking for accommodations in the area. Lisez la suite

Excellent, friendly staff! Room was small but all we needed was a bed and a clean room.. housekeeping was spot on! Convenient to fast food and Walmart for general needs. Definitely served our needs for our trip.

We booked a night at Super 8 Portage to break up a long interstate drive. I chose this hotel because the brand is reliable and the price was good. The building is a little dated and they recently kicked in no-smoking anywhere inside the hotel. Suffice it to say the hotel had a slight odor. Nothing offensive, just kind of stuffy. The double queen room […] had a safe, 25" Magnavox CRT TV, large fridge, and a desk (for wireless internet). There was no table. They have several tables in the lobby, along with a public computer for internet access if you don't bring your laptop. Additionally, there are several restaurants and stores nearby (Culver's, KFC, WalMart, KMart, etc.). Probably the most frustrating thing was its proximity to Interstate 39. People were checking in around midnight and the raucous of them 'moving' into their rooms was a little annoying. Also, there is a lot of road noise from semis driving to the Kwik Trip that is a block away. Overall I would say it's about in line with what you'd expect from a Super 8. the hotel was 15-20min thats what mapquest said but really it was only 10min away from the water parks, we enjoyed driving to the water parks downtown etc... it made it more excited for us and my kids. The hotel was always clean and on top of things we need it! And of course the price made it worth it!!!

Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel isn't too far from the dells; it took about 20 minutes to drive from the hotel to the dells. The price was pretty low which was great. They had a larger continental breakfast than I was expecting too (they had a waffle maker). The rooms are great if you don't need anything too fancy. The fridge […] in the room was actually pretty big. The only down side (if you can call it that) is that there wasn't a microwave in the room, only in the lobby, but that just means you have to walk to the lobby to make food which isn't a big deal. We stayed 1 night on a Saturday when the hotel was completely booked full. The staff was very friendly upon check-in. It was evident they were very busy given the fact they were completely booked but still took the time to answer a couple questions I had about the area having never been to Portage. The room was basic but clean. They offer free wi-fi […] and also have a computer in the lobby next to the check in counter free for hotel guests to use. There is a basic continental breakfast in the lobby that included coffee, orange/apple juices, donut holes, waffle press, bread, english muffins, toaster and some fruits. Given that the Super 8 was full the staff did a great job keeping the breakfast area stocked. My only con to our stay was we were in a 1st floor room and you could hear guests on the top floor walking around as the floor creaked. The water flowing through the pipes behind the walls as someone flushed or took a shower was kind of loud through the thin walls. But it didn't really bother my wife and I. It may have just been our room location too. The maids were also friendly as we were checking out the following day when I was walking through the hallway. We were greeted very courteously. Everyone was friendly. The bed was comfortable and the roomn was very clean.

hotel was busy but never knew there was anyone in the other rooms, very quiet. Room was very spacious and offered a lot for the price.

This is a very comfortable quiet hotel. We had no issues with the staff or cleanliness of the room. Maid service was outstanding. I really was pleasantly surprised and will stay there again and recommend to others that are going to the Wisconsin Dells area to stay there and save some money.

Just off the highway, easy access on and off. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Plenty of restaurant chains and a national mega mart just next door. Super convenient without the high conveniance cost.

Newer Super 8 near shoping and restaurants. Well maintained and clean. Very quiet.

We chose this hotel as an overnight before we headed to the Dells. Hotel is close to the Dells, plenty of restaurants, stores nearby. Good value.

They loved our dog. The weather was lously but restaurants were close by. The staff was outstanding and we had a room with a king sized bed and it was great to sleep in. I'd recommend it to anyone.
