"Kyoto Hotel Okura : SUPER!!!"
A recommander +++

"Kyoto Hotel Okura"
This hotel combines modern amenity with traditional Japanese hospitality. It is beautifully decorated, clean and centrally located. The hotel staff all speak English so there is absolutely no language barrier. From the hotel you can walk to Kyoto's most popular shopping area where you can get inexpensive gifts for your friends and family memebers back […] home. There are also lots of great and reasonablly priced Japanese restaurants, Western style bakeries and cafes close by. This is definitely the place to stay when you visit Kyoto. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Okura"
Lovely, comfortable hotel. Liked the graphic on the window ledge that named the features you could see from your hotel window - nice touch. Very accessible to everything. Could not fault it. Staff helpful and knowledgeable, services excellent.

"Kyoto Hotel Okura"
This hotel was lovely. Large comfortable rooms, great service and staff and very convenient walking distance to the main attractions in Kyoto. I highly recommend it!
"Comfortable High End Hotel Convenient Location"
This hotel was located close to the city's main shopping and dining area, all of which were located a block or so away. The hotel room was immaculate, spacious, very well furnished and quiet. However, as we did a lot of sightseeing, we did not spend much time in the hotel. A caveat: as we also explored some of the towns and regions around Kyoto, we […] had to travel via Kyoto's main train station. The hotel was not very conveniently located for the main train station, not if you're going there every day. This hotel is otherwise highly recommended. Lisez la suite
The hotel is well located where you can easily go to see all attractions and have food and to shop. I paid a deluxe room but they mistakenly gave a standard room. The standard room was quite worn and I asked back for a deluxe room which was better. They have wi-fi only in the hotel lobby, where i-pads and i-phones could not be used in room.
"Great location, superb service in Kyoto"
Stayed for four nights at the Kyoto Okura in a Superior Twin- room was spacious and well equipped, with a quality stock of bathing accessories and both a bath tub and shower. Check-in and check-out were speedy and professional, and staff were very courteous and profesional. Location of hotel is perfect- direct access to the subway downstairs, and within […] 10 min walking distance of Pontocho-dori, Sanjo (Hankyu, Takashimaya department stores), and Teramachi-dori, allowing easy access to restaurants and entertainment. One small area of improvement- the concierge/bell captains, while extremely polite and friendly, could benefit from more local knowledge of restaurants/directions in the area, as at times it took them a while to find the relevant information. Didn't however detract from our unequivocally positive impression of the hotel and its staff! Lisez la suite

"Good service, very good location"
Overall very, very good value for the money. The only downside is no wireless internet in the room (but wire LAN available).
"Kyoto hotel Okura"
I loved Kyoto and the Hotel Okura made the experience even better. Delightful staff with excellent English. The room was spacious and comfortable and I found the location excellent - within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. It is a short taxi journey to Kyoto Station.
"Perfection"
This hotel is what every luxury hotel should be. The staff were well spoken in english but a little japanese goes a long way. They were very attentive from the moment you walk into the lobby ready to take your luggage, help with check in/out or any other need you may have. Take advantage of the concierge for directions and general information. The superior […] rooms were simply the best and the location is great for walking to the Gion district, shopping, restaurants or sight seeing. If you have concern about the price of hotel restaurants simply go south about a block or two and there are many quality places to eat for a good price. Lisez la suite
"Kyoto Hotel Okura-near to the office of Kyoto city"
Hotel services are very good but all need to pay such as swimming pool. Waiters/waitress are all polite! Although the hotel is close to subway station, still far away from shopping malls. Moreover, how come there is wifi in rooms except lobby. Curious....

"Majestic lobby, warm service, outdated room"
Old style hotel and outdated room furnish n deco even though it was kept in decent condition. Visited during maple leave season. Not value for money. Staff very friendly tho some do not speak english well (nite time).
"The Kyoto Hotel Okura"
I would highly recommend this hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel and the friendly service warrant a top rating. If you wish to go in November -the best season for autumn colour in Kyoto - book early. And don't miss visiting the undercover markets - this was a highlight. The Okura's information desk, offered as part of the hotel's service, was especially […] appreciated. I intend to stay there again in the future. Lisez la suite
"Kyoto Hotel Okura"
Location is excellent, including a direct entrance to the subway station - you can roll your suitcases from the Shinkansen station in downtown Kyoto all the way to your room without ever taking a staircase. Our room was 10th floor, with excellent views of Kyoto and the surrounding mountains. Walking distance to Gion and other interesting areas, and […] easy access to Japan's amazing public transportation network for everything else. Nice size room by Japanese standards. Regular price would be way more than we would usually pay, but the hotels.com price was less than half the posted prices and well worth it. Extremely helpful staff, many of whom spoke fluent English. Restaurants too pricey for us, but walking distance to plenty of cheaper options (try Kyoto Station's food courts for everything you want to try in Japanese food, plus a few Hong Kong and other options). My only criticism of the hotel is that our room was a little short on closet space, especially since ours was a six-day stay in Kyoto. Lisez la suite

"DONT THINK TWICE"
I have written one review for hotels.com and this hotel deserves it. Everyone in the city knows the hotel so you can always get back. 10 mins to the main train station. .. subway in the basement walking distance to everything.....service excellent.
"Hospitable hotel!"
Staffs are very polite and kind, and our room was very comfortable, so we wanted to stay more few days.
"Hotel Kyoto Okura"
Amazing experience. Great staff, even better service. Clean and LARGE rooms even by western standards. Definitely worth the extra $ spent.
"Hotel Okura kyoto"
The hotel is conveniently located and we had a comfortable stay. While checking out, we had forgotten our mobile phone and realised it only when we had left to Nara, a nearby tourist point. We called the hotel and the staff were very kind in keeping it safe for us and assuring us that we come back we can pick it at the front desk. Also, the staff in […] the hotel were very friendly and always willing to help. Lisez la suite
Okura Hotel in Kyoto offers great rooms, beds are large and very comfortable. Very silent airconditioning, which is well-functioning and easy to adjust (you need it in July and August when it is very hot and oppressive in Japan). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breaskfast at the 17th floor is good and offers an unique panorama view of Kyoto and […] surrounding mountains. Metro just in front of the hotel. Good neighborhood. Lisez la suite
"Kyoto Hotel Okura"
This is an excellent hotel, well-located in Kyoto and with friendly, helpful people. Many of the staff spoke good English. Restaurants are good but expensive, but the hotel building has some lower-cost alternatives like an Italian bakery in the basement levels. The only rough spot was when a sushi restaurant was recommended but the restaurant's name […] wasn't in English at the restaurant's location. We learned that it's good to look at a picture of the restaurant and to study it carefully since addresses aren't typically obvious. Lisez la suite

"Perfect"
Perfect hotel but expensive while other very good hotels in Kyoto are much cheaper...
Wonderful experience from all the staff at the hotel. The location is ideal for the downtown sites and for shopping. We hired a driver for the day to take us to the shrines/temples that are in the hills surrounding the city as it is not a walkable - we got to see most everything we wanted this way. Hotel is a very comfortable & gracious property
"Position"
Loved this hotel. Had read how small hotels were in Japan but this hotel had large rooms, big bathrooms and lovely warm toilet seats. Did not include breakfast but bought fruit , yoghurt and milk across the road. The position was great right next to the river and on top of the underground, very easy to get around either by walking or train. Would stay […] their again. Only down side was I hated the pillows. "Great hotel, great location"
Everything excellent, only issue at the restau and extremely expensive for value received. The only negative issue was the restaurants inside the hotel. No english, poor translation if any of menu and extremely expensive for value received. Go eat outside.

"Excellent stay"
We had a 5 day stay at kyoto hotel Okura and found everything top class. We did not eat in the hotel as the prices seemed very high. The underground station was as convient as an escalator ride.

"hotel review"
When I asked a question about a restaurant in the area, the staff would give me great suggestionst. When I asked for train or transportation directions, the staff would pull out a map and show me the easiest and shortest ways to reach my destinations. Everybody at the hotel were helpful and gracious.
