"The Croke Park Hotel ****"Evalué par FRANCK de "LYON" le 3 févr. 2012

"The Fitzwilliam Hotel in Dublin"
This is a top class modern hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. I received excellent service from friendly staff. My only criticism would be that the fitness facilities are not adequate for a 5 star hotel, but with one of the city's finest parks across the road there is always the ability to go for a morning jog nearby to satisfy that […] fitness crave. Met all my expectations!
"The Fitzwilliam Hotel Dublin - close to everything"
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice. We ate dinner there the first night and it was incredible. A two minute walk from the hotel and we were at shopping and bus locations that got us anywhere in the city. Many of the sites were within walking distance.
"Service with a smile"
My wife and I stayed here for a weekend recently and we will be coming back it was just a great hotel the staff were so friendly and the service was just top class.
"Fitzwilliam - Right on the Park"
Cracking hotel. Really comfortable. Great location right on St Stephen's Green. Dead handy for Grafton Street too. Everything excellent except the breakfast which was ok, but not worth 20 euros.
"Great, unique hotel, service was brillliant!"
My husband and I checked in and were surprised that the hotel had arranged a surprise gift because we were on our honeymoon; fresh figs, strawberries, and brownies. We had recurring interaction with Joanna at the front desk and she remembered us everytime. One night our key didn't work and she came up with us to sort it out- great offer, especially […] since the new key didn't work either. She actually ran in high-heels to get us the master; what a gem! When we looked to stash our bags in order to grab lunch before going to the airport, Sean was happy to help. When we asked him where the business center was to print our boarding passes, he printed them off right there for us at the concierge desk! Saved us some time, and we left even mor impressed than we already had been with the hotel's interior appearance and location. Cannot reccommend it enough! Definately beats the Westin at the other end of Grafton st., which was tired, and had poor customer service. Lisez la suite

"Nice view, but overpriced"
Street noise substantial until 3-4am. Room service food was nearly inedible. Requested wake-up call never happened. Otherwise, nice staff, lovely room.
The Fitzwilliam is a first rate hotel - great location and very attentive staff.
"Above and Beyond"
We had stayed at a stately manor house in the County Meath countryside and then travelled to Galway before arriving at the Fitz in Dublin. The hotel had been pre-booked for a "superior" room. We arrived at the Fitz and we shown to our room in short term wondering whether it was the "superior" we had booked (not because the room was not nice but thinking […] perhaps superior might be better). We called the front desk and within a matter of minutes were advised the room we had was in error not a superior room. As a goodwill gesture, we were given suite on a higher floor facing the ponds in Stephen's Green and with a walkout balcony (ie. much better than the superior we had booked and paid for). Very nice to say the least. The next day we asked if we could have another box of the chocolates we had been given with turn down service as they we delicious. The front desk representative, Laura personally delivered 3 boxes that she had tied a ribbon around. Further still, she refused to accept any gratuity. We were very, very impressed with the Fitz and staff who were all very helpful. Indeed it is the staff that often can transition a good hotel into a great one, which is what Laura and the staff at the Fitz did for our stay. Much appreciated! Lisez la suite
"Good Choice"
Excellent service, cleaness, location and design. The only thing is that the rooms are a little bit small. Excellent shower.
hotel is well managed-staff excellent but reservations about bathroom include shower strength far too excessive without proper spray and no soap dish at washbasin.
"The Fitzwilliam Hotel - Almost excellent"
We recently completed a 3 night stay in this 5* hotel whilst I was DJ'ing in Dublin and to celebrate my Birthday. In being a regular traveller, our expectations were based upon the hotel's 5* rating and what we have experienced in other similarly rated hotels around the World... And whilst The Fitzwilliam Hotel met / exceeded our expectations in a […] number of areas, there were a couple of points it could improve upon. Firstly, the positives - 1. This hotel is ideally situated for access to the centre of Dublin 2. Some of the staff are very attentive, Joanna on reception and Viktor the concierge were both highly customer focused and made you feel like a valued customer. 3. The bed in the room was easily one of the most comfortable we've slept in. Medium firm and nice linen, you will not struggle for a good night's sleep at The Fitzwilliam 4. The rooms are very quiet. We stayed on the 06th floor and being a DJ, returned very late knowing we would need to sleep in. The cleaner's seem able to do their jobs without excessive banging, door knocking and shouting like you get in some hotels. 5. Room service is prompt and the food is good. Prices are what you would expect in a 5* property. Now the 'not so good' - 1. Upon being greeted by Joanna at check in and noticing it was my birthday, she said that she would try to arrange a complimentary room upgrade the following day. However, when we then asked a gentleman (no name badge?) the following day, we were told there was no record of the discussion? Obviously if there were no superior rooms available, then fair enough, but I'm sure Joanna made a note of our discussion and we felt like we were being fobbed off. 2. Upon arriving in our room we noticed one of the loudspeaker fixings had broken and thus it was hanging off the wall by it's cable. We called down and an offer was made to rectify immediately, but not what you expect to find in a property of the calibre. 3. We fancied a cocktail in the bar after dinner on our la Lisez la suite

"The Fitzwilliam Hotel, Dublin, Ireland"
We had a very pleasant 2-day stay at the Fitzwilliam Hotel in Dublin. Lovely "modern baroque" deco. Certainly lives up to its 5 stars. And a great central location.
"Wonderful Friendly Perfect for Dublin Weekend"
I really enjoyed my stay at the Fitzwilliam. Staff was (mostly) friendly - concierge staff was phenomenal. Great location, very stylish rooms...if a little down at heel on the edges - not so you would notice immediately, but on closer inspection only. Wonderful huge bathtub (for two) and very comfortable bed. Thin walls (I could hear my neighbours) […] and each night I was put in a very strange location - first next to the linen closet so I heard the housekeeping in and out all hours of the day, and second night (when I had requested and paid for an upgrade), directly facing the elevators, so I heard every person on and off for my floor. Given that, the rooms facing the courtyard are silent - amazing given the vibey location. But these things are little niggles - the hotel was great value, wonderful experience - I would DEFINITELY stay here again in Dublin ... and I would highly rec. Lisez la suite

"Superb Hotel"
this is an outstanding choice of hotel in Dublin. It is overlooking St Stephens Park in the old Georgian section. It is a few blocks from Trinity College. You can walk to just about anywhere and the restaurants in the area are many and some are exceptional quality. Speaking of , the hotel has a very nice bar and restaurant within its confines. One of […] the best martinis of my experience was enjoyed here. Very modern decor in both hotel public spaces and the rooms. And a nice size room by Irish standards, it would be acceptable to most Americans. Wonderful modern bath and the best thing is the very helpful concierge . These men were great in giving advice and making reservations and generally being there for anything you might need. The hotel was also the best bargain of all the hotels we stayed at on a two week trip to Ireland and Great Britain . Excellent value . Lisez la suite
"The Fitzwilliam Hotel Dublin - great value 5 star"
Excellent overall. Modern, luxurious, stylish, relaxed,. Rooms are very comfortable and beautifully furnished, although quite compact are well laid out with everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Particularly loved the high quality contemporary chic fixtures and fittings, luxury beds and bed linen plus the large bathtub, candles, turndown […] service with chocolates and complimentary water from the mini bar. We were upgraded to a room overlooking the Green however there was quite alot of noise from revellers outside. through the night. Lovely seating area by the window - great for a moment of relaxation. My friend had a standard room which was exactly the same as ours but with a quiet aspect over a courtyard at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was superb - excellent choice and quality - real freshly squeezed juices, fruits, pastries, compotes, yoghurts, porridge, smoked salmon, meats and cheeses plus a full Irish and hot specialities. Worth paying for breakfast if you aren't on a B&B rate as it could set you up for the day until dinner. Room service and food in the cafe bar also very good. There is a Michelin star restaurant in the hotel - we didn't try this but next time will definitely try it. Dublin is an expensive city to visit regardless of the weak £ - do your homework when eating and drinking out of the hotel. The hotel recommends restauarants / bars/ bistros in the guest literature in the room - we tried 2 of the recommendations - both were excellent. Would definitely make the Fitzwilliam our preference next time we are in Dublin - located at the corner of St Stephens Green and Grafton St with a tram stop right outside - couldn't be better. I don't think the hotel website does it justice. Lisez la suite
"Great location!"
Great hotel in a great location. Definitely recommend. Hotel staff didn't necessarily go the extra mile though, considering it's a 5 star hotel. Not that they were rude or gave bad service, just didn't feel like they really lived up to a 5 star hotel standard. I'll stay there again though, as they were good enough and the location of the hotel was […] fantastic. Lisez la suite
"The fitzwilliam dublin"
The hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly it was very central to everything, the only prob i had was that the bedroom aws very small and hot even with air con, the curtains didint fit which meant light came into the room first thing in the morning, the breakfast was delicious but expensive as was the car park which was an added expense we didnt […] expect. Second time staying here. Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent for shopping in grafton St. Had the best BLT i ever had in the bar before we left. Def staying here the next time im in Dublin for shopping.

The location of the hotel is great. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They responded to matters such as blown light bulb and malfunction of the safe immediately.
"Fitzwilliam Hotel Dublin"
Everything about this hotel is excellent though the food/wine and particularly breakfast is pricey; the one thing that seriously lets it down is noise however. There seems to be little or no sound proofing between rooms - you can hear every switch being flicked, water running, hair dryers etc. But the worst thing is room doors slamming - they don't […] have any soft close devices attached so slam loudly after you very easily and boy to people let them slam! So lovely. Great time had. Lobby could do with overhaul but location and room absolutely perfect. Very quiet given it's prime location. Lovely lovely place. Look forward to a return

"Great location!"
This really is a lovely hotel in a great location. Dinner in the Citron Restaurant was very good and only 25 euros for three courses. Some may say the breakfast is too expensive at 22 euros, I disagree, there was everything and you could eat till you burst, no need for any lunch! No complaints, deserves it's 5 stars
"Well situated and Comfortable"
It's a nice hotel in an excellent location at the heart of Dublin. It seems quite new. The only downside for me was the bar and restaurnt seemed quite sterile. However as you are in the middle of Dublin there are many options very close by.
"Great Hotel and Staff"
Very clean and well appointed rooms. Great location for shopping and restaurants/pubs. The hop on/off tour buses have a stop that is very close as well. My wife experienced food poisoning during our stay (not from the hotel food), and the staff was extremely courteous and accomodating and went out of their way to make her comfortable. Would definatley […] stay here again. Lisez la suite
I stayed at the hotel on business as its very well located. The hotel parked by car on arrival and I either walked or used the Luas across the street to get around. The staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are very comfortable and clean.
"Ideal location"
My wife and I wanted a weekend break in Dublin, and the location of this hotel was perfect, just on St. Stephens Green, and within walking distance of all the shops in Grafton St., etc. However, the one complaint we would both have was that the room was tiny and the bed not much better, which was a shame as it is so important to have a good nights sleep. […] We did not eat in the hotel as there was so many good choices of restaurants close by, and much more reasonably priced. Lisez la suite

"Dublin's Fitzwilliam"
Prior to our arrival we notified the Fitzwilliam that we would be on our honeymoon. We received a personal response indicating that we would receive a complimentary room upgrade. They were true to their word plus they added a small plate of chocolates as a welcome gift. We also received a note from the manager congratulating us and offering to help […] if we needed anything. Simple things that meant a lot. The room was gorgeous and comfortable. We will certainly stay there again. Lisez la suite
