Perfect for a beach holiday away from the hussle and bustle. Very sweet staff in the front desk although service in the dinning rooms a little lacking (staff not really focused on the customers). "Not very satisfied"
We were traveling to RAK for an event. The hotel price was higher than normal because of the event which I had expected. I did not choose the most expensive or the cheapest hotel. We arrived around 7. There was very little parking and we had to drive around. The room was very basic and had a unpleasant smell when you entered. There was mold all over […] the bathroom ceiling. I was the second person to take a shower and the water was cold. We stayed two nights and the second day we had to ask to have our room cleaned. We tried ordering room service but they did not have many of the items. On a few different occasions we walked around to the various resturants looking for help and had to wait to be spoken to. "The most terrible stay at a 5-star"
Just came back from Al Hamra Fort, we we've been staying for the first time. And surely the last. This was the worst stay in a 5-star ever. The so-called "resort" looks like construction site / slum even in the area away from the main building which undergoes renovation. Absolutely unprofessional receptionists, no changing rooms on the beach - dirty […] toilets with no hooks instead, kids center is not operational. Trash was lying all around our villa's backyard. Some brainless vandals with compressor and jack hummer woke us up at 7:28 on Friday morning (weekend in the UAE). My telephone call was totally ignored by an arrogant young fellow called Daniel, and the issue was only sorted out when I personally went to the reception. Never again. This property has an outstanding view and is par excellent. The resort has 2 big pools with a warm jacuzzi with green gardens followed by the beach. Great outdoor water actitivities. "Young family getaway"
Great experience, however major renovations were underway and resulted in many of the eating establishments to be closed. Our hot water took 10 minutes of constant run time before it became warm and would cool down in 10 minutes or so if not use causing us to repeat the running of water for another 10 minutes. Mixed reviews prepared me for an average hotel, but either people are too critical or had a bad day - in mp opinion - i had lived in uae for 6 yrs and stayed in loads of hotels - i would rate this hotel room as great - clean and spacious - good design, large, modern bed - a modern villa design adds to the charm - the only quirk is the old television! […] Very helpful staff. The pool is fairly spacious - and the beach is great - although some light construction is ongoing, but this is a minor hassle. The area is very relaxing during the evening and after dark. In summary a great hotel for a quiet break - not much going on except for the shopping mall, but u expect that in ras al khaimah! We had to wait until 5pm to check in, but we did get an upgrade to a beach front villa with suite, so well worth the wait. "Convenient location, but less than polished"
The Al Hamra is a very pretty hotel with some rough edges. For example, my room was large, spacious, clean and tastefully furnished but on top of a Lebanese Restaurant which had a live band playing skull splitting music that would wake me from my sleep late at night. The hotel also had gorgeous grounds and you couldn't walk more than 2 minutes and come […] across a hotel, however, the breakfast buffet oozed cheap-quality-- stale cardboard-like pancakes, waffles, french bread that had been sitting around for hours and juice that tasted like it had come from a local RAK Chemical Factory. Employees were quite lovely but the entire experience was a bit of a let-down and not what I expected from a resort based on my previous experience elsewhere. Hopefully it might be better next time. "Al Hamra resort"
The room we had was very spacious and quiet. The rooms are spread over a large ground and getting to and fro to the Hotel, Beach and Pool might be a problem for the less mobile. I would stay at this resort again espeically if I had a sea view room.Avis véridique Expedia

Good property but very bad service... Absolutely pathetic service! We checked in and our key was not working. We had to wait for an hour for the bell boy to get another key for us. And that also didn't work when we wanted to go out. We told themt hat we will go for a swim and to fix the lock in the meanwhile. We came after 4 hours all drenched and still […] the lock was not fixed!! All of us including my 2 year old son had to wait in wet clothes for more than an hour until they got the lock fixed!!! And they didn't compensate for all this inconvinience in any way!! We went to speak to the manager and he was not available. It was my most horrible stay ever!!! "Dirty!"
Check in went smoothly, cases were taken to the room but on opening the room we had been given it was a disappointment, the room looked and felt dirty and unclean. Hubby pulled back the bedsheets and we were horrified to see blood stains on them. Called reception and told them we'd like to move, they offered to clean the room but i refused. I was told […] someone would be intouch shortly once they found us another room, i had to make 3 phone calls to reception before we were offered another room but at a cost of an extra 300 dhs per night, no apology for the inconvience of having to move. Husband decided to pay the extra. The next room seemed alot cleaner but very tired and run down. Tv reception was rubbish. Hubby enjoyed the golf course, food in the bar was good, the sunbeds again very old and no-one came to service us when we rang the waiters bell but hey ho, lesson learnt, wouldn't go back again. "This grand hotel is falling to pieces"
The staff at this hotel are friendly and do all they can to please. The restaurants served a great variety of tasty food. There is no preventative maintenance in this hotel resulting in many broken items in the rooms. We stayed in a seafront villa. This was in a brilliant location. Unfortunately this was the only thing that was good. The bed was […] extremely hard with horrible pillows and sheets. The sleeper couch for our son was finished completely not "sleepable". The clothes hangers were all broken. The safe was not working, The fridge was broken. The TV remote control was broken. The TV would not work and after 2 hours the maintenance crew finally rectified the problem. Old TV's with bad reception. NO kettle or tea and coffee in the rooms with only 1 large bottle of water that was complimentary. We moved to another room the next day inside the hotel which was much better. Still no kettle for boiling water and no tea and coffee. The watersports are very expensive at AED 60 per child we paid AED 180 for 15 minutes. The internet was not working for the entire duration of our stay and as I rely on the internet for my business this was not satisfactory. We were planing to stay a week but after two days had enough and moved to another hotel that had more modern and updated rooms together with internet. "Christmas 2010 at Fort Hamra"
Fort Hamra is in an excellent setting,very clean and well situated on the Arabian Gulf. We spent Christmas there which was most enjoyable. It was however spoilt by: The room not being ready - twin beds where there were three of us Poor Staff communication about what was on offer over Christmas in terms of food,buffets etc. The staff most of whom are […] Indian or Phillipino do not have a sufficiently good command of the english language. We were told things that were just patently lies. I made a reservation for an outdoor buffet which was not being held!! All the staff were pleasant and tried to help but the communication gaps were just too great for effective two way communication to take place.My partner and I both have english as our first language. We were constantly asked if we had vouchers or were part of an organised tour group - which we were not. There are lots of tour groups who visit Al Hamra and they seem to take preference over normal paying guests. Beware and be warned if you intend to visit Fort Al Hamra! "Minimalt bemanning"
Vi reiste 2 familier sammen. Med barn i alderen 7-12. Villaene ligger så og si alle helt på stranden og komplekset har stort og greit svømmebasseng. Selve hotellet var under ommbygging som også kan være årsak til lav bemanning og mye venting. Da vi ankom 2 familer fikk vi tildelt nøkkel til en av rommene og ble fortalt at det andre var klart om 10-15 […] min. Vi ventet 45 min og bestemte oss da for å spise lunsj mens vi ventet. Lunsjen ble bestilt i restauranten ved bassenget. Vi ventet over en time før maten kom. Da den først kom var det meste feil. Vi ventet og purrett 3 ganger før vi fikk nøkkel til rom nr 2 altså 3 timer etter det var blitt lovet. Vi hadde derimot en hyggelig opplevelse med en annen restaurant om kvelden der vi inntok en nydelig buffet blant hyggelige servitører. Vi bestemte oss for å bestille frokost på rommet tidlig for å få mest ut av dagen etter. Bestilte frokost til rom nr 2 kvelden før til kl 0900 neste morgen. kl 0930 dagen etter er det fremdeles ingen frokost..Men de ringer da fra roomservice for å bekrefte hva de hadde bestilt. De hadde tydeligvis ikke fått med noe av det som var bestilt og ba oss vente enda 15-20 min før frokosten kom. Dette ble da avslått og frokosten kanselert. Folket i rom 1 våknet til drypping på badet og der det rant fra en lekkasje i taket. Klær og talettsaker som lå på badet var gjennomvått...Totalopplevelsen vi sitter igjen med var stort sett venting og dårlig service. Vi kastet bort 2 feriedager med venting og irritasjon. "Schöne Hotelanlage mit Trend zum Massentourismus"
Anlage, Strand sowie Golfplatz nebenan erinnern an glanzvolle vergangene Zeiten. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, sauber und mit dem notwendigen Komfort ausgestattet. Leider gewinnt der all-inklusive Massentourismus Überhand, Frühstück war vielseitig, das Abendessen nichts Besonderes. Die Gastfreundschaft, welche wir sonst überall in den Emiraten erlebt hatten, […] konnten wir im Al Hamra nicht finden. Das Personal (von Ankunft bis Abreise, niemand hielt es auch nur für nötig zu fragen, ob wir zufrieden gewesen sind oder wiederkommen werden) war bis auf wenige Ausnahmen dem Gast gegenüber äusserst gleichgültig und waren frühmorgens bei der Zimmerreinigung sehr lärmig. In allen Bereichen fehlt das Auge für's Detail, für die kleinen Dinge, welche man in einer Top-Anlage erwartet (z.B. Begrüssung bei Ankunft, Bademantel, free wireless, Getränke/Bedienung am Strand). "Hotel Al Hamra Golf Village - dejlig golfbane"
Dejligt hotel i et stort og velfungerende golf & beach resort. Vores prioritet var golfopholdet, men hotellet ligger tæt på dejlig sand strand med gode faciliteter med pool samt 7 forskellige restauranter indenfor området. Shuttle bus hver 5. minut bragte os rundt i området, ikke mindst til den dejlige golfbane, som fremstod utroligt velholdt og med […] et højt service niveau. F.eks. er det et "must" at køre med buggy, som var udstyret med GPS samt cooler, der var fyldt op med isterninger og ½ l vand pr. runde/person. Endvidere var der 4 kiosker undervejs. Banen kan anbefales - der er rigeligt med bunkers, vandhazarder samt waste areas, som gør det til en passende udfordring. Endvidere kan man spille 9 af hullerne med aftenlys. Ett fint hotell, fast efter att ha bott på Hilton beach i Ras al Khaimah så känns alla andra sämre. Dock som sagt ett fint hotell med 2 pooler och sandstrand med handduksservice och hotellets personal var mkt trevliga. Restaurangerna var också bra, god mat och god dryck! Vi bodde i ett strandvilla rum med 2 king size sängar och det var tyvärr lite lyhört, […] men allt som allt är vi mycket nöjda med vår vistelse! "Al Hamra Fort - bra läge, strulig personal"
Hotellet ligger mycket bra till vid en långgrund sandstrand. Gott om plats att finna solstolar. Härliga gräsytor med flera poolområden. Maten lever inte riktigt upp till ett 4-stjärningt hotell. Receptionen är dock den smala sektorn på hotellet. Under vår 5 dagars vistelse bad jag dem 3 gånger att byta batteriet i vår safetybox - inget hände. De kunde […] bara sälja veckolånga uppkopplingar på internet - inte timme eller dag som jag önskade. Bokade taxi till Dubai airport - beställningen slarvades bort och någon taxi kom aldrig.
