"Very nice"
Close access to BMO Centre, well apointed rooms with balcony, good service.
"some hiccups"
The room I reserved was for 2 queens and they thought I reserved a king, therefore they had to make a correction. Also, they told me the pool would be open for all hotel guests in the morning, but when I called to go down to the pool in the morning, they said it was reserved for a function. Other than that, the hotel was beautiful and clean!
"Avoid "Studio Rooms'"
They are in an annex on a low floor, down a long hall beyond the 'gym' and the 'Business Center', with noisy air conditioning from the restaurant downstairs right outside the window.
"A place to stay, expect nothing more."
So I called in ahead of time to reserve a fridge for my room and upon arrival there was no fridge. After calling front desk they tell me that there are none available and I'd have to check daily to see if I could get one. Strike One. There's supposed to be a shuttle to go to the Stampede which is 5 blocks away and I try to take it but because there's […] only one guy to stand at the door he can't drive me unless they have two guys standing at the door. Strike Two. I ask for a taxi to be called in for me ahead of time to make it to a dinner and they say that there's lots of taxis outside the building. I come down to find that there isn't ANY. But low and behold for 10 bucks the lone door man will drive me the 5.2 km. Nice... Strike Three. Other than those instances, the hotel room was nice and very modern. Oh and there is no free wired internet as they state on hotels.com. All internet is fee based except in the lobby. Lisez la suite

"Hotel Arts in Calgary"
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very attractive lobby. Rooms are quite nice and comfortable. There could be much better lighting for reading by the beds. A bar fridge and free wireless, if only in the lobby, would be nice additions. Otherwise I had a very pleasant stay.
"Great room, clean...couple of double-checks req'd"
The TV system had to be re-booted, and the clock radio needed a bit o 'figuring out' even for this experienced traveler. Biggest error(s): the wake up calls requested were completely missed a couple of times...something not working in the phone system's settings, they surmised...as my requests were 'proven to be' in the system when I queried after the […] misses. Everything requested from the staff was satisfied promptly. Very polite staff. Lisez la suite
"The Hotel Arts - Close to downtown core"
This hotel had an idea location for the conference that I was attending at the Telus Convention Center (located 4 blocks away). The 12th Ave. SW (and center street) location made it convenient for going out on the bar strip (17th Ave. SW). The Room itself was dimly lit but there was a desk with a bright light that sufficed for doing my work. The tap […] in the bathroom had been broken off and not repaired (it still worked but had been broken off its foundation and was unstable). The internet cost (at the time $11) extra which I thought should have been included (last stay in Calgary was at the holiday inn on macloud trail South and it had offered free internet). The restaurant was a highlight the meals where very good and I eat there everyday while staying at the hotel. All in all I would recommended this hotel to anyone who needs to be close to downtown. I would happily stay there again. Lisez la suite
"Don`t stay here - not worth it"
Stayed with my wife on a Friday and Saturday night, after driving down from Edmonton, and will not stay again. The hotel and lobby are fine, reasonably clean and well decorated. $10 for parking on the weekend was also reasonable. The room ( a king suite) was ok on the surface, but had a few significant issues, including some dirty tile and carpet, but […] most notably the radiator and heater, which was so painfully loud that it kept us up all night. Since they had left our patio door open before we arrived, and the temperature was below zero, we had to turn the heat up and it was not a good experience. The bed was not comfortable and and too few pillows for a king bed, and they were cheap, bad pillows to boot - the little details count in this regards. The service at the front desk was also kind of snotty, trying to pretend they are chic, but really just a renovated Holiday Inn. All in all, you could get a much better room downtown Calgary for the same price - see the Westin or Hyatt, which are both better. I wish I had of went for the Westin on Hotwire, becuase it would have been better. Lisez la suite
"cavernous rooms"
The hotel is nice, but the rooms are so dark. All walls and the ceiling is painted a very dark grey. Low wattage light bulbs in the lamps are simply not enough to make the room bright. I found the decor the be rather depressing overall. The beds are very comfortable, room was spacious and staff were very nice. I went to the restaurant (Raw Bar) for […] dinner and it was dreadful. My entree (braised short rib) tasted horrible. I sent it back and had a steak which was marginally better. There are a number of great restaurants in the area, so I suggest venturing out instead of the hotel restaurant. Lisez la suite

"Hotel Arts in Calgary"
A fine hotel, excellent food in the bar/restaurant. Good decor and convenient to downtown Calgary. Internet in the rooms should be free ( a minor annoyance...).
"Hotel Arts"
The hotel is nicely decorated, however the rooms were incredibly dark. Be prepared to pay $18 a day for parking during the week. Expensive stay.
"awesome location"
great hotel, super clean, perfect location
"Hotel Arts in Calgary - a bit of a surprise"
We stayed 1 night with our two young kids. Hotel was beautiful and I wish we'd had more time to actually enjoy the hotel amenities. The only negative was that there was a parking fee, which wasn't mentioned on their website (as far as I could tell) and we were never made aware of until we arrived at the hotel. Last few hotels didn't have a parking […] charge so this came as a bit of a surprise. Next time I'll be sure to ask! But overall, this was a beautiful hotel and very comfortable and quiet. We will return to stay here again. Lisez la suite

"Room ()8"
It is too dark in the room to conduct any business. Thew tub is throughly wore out
"Nice"
It is a nice hotel, clean, convenient, a definite 3 star.
"Hotel Arts"
This is the first Hotel that I have ever stayed at, that did not have a chair of any description in the room.
"Hotel Arts"
Only complaint I would have was the food was cold from Room Service. The hotel atmoshpere is a nice change from the standard ambiance usually seen in hotels.

"Hotel arts in lethbridge"
Overall everything was excellent. My only complaint is that we have to pay for local calls and wireless Internet, which is usually free at other hotels.
"Hotel Arts - decent boutique hotel in downtown YYC"
This was a nice hotel in downtown Calgary. It is a very European style hotel with rooms on the small side (I had a 2 queen room). Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Downside was getting a taxi as the hotel is a couple of blocks out of way of the main core and not near a +15. So there was usually a lineup of people in the morning and the hotel […] doesn't have enough juice to get them sent quickly. TV was decent (full Shaw linueup of channels) and food in hotel was fine. Internet was expensive ($10.95/device/day) but did work well enough to pick up email and browse web. The in-hotel restaurant is somewhat limited but there are a few local places in close walking distance, even in the winter. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Arts in Calgary"
I was disappointed to be told when we arrived that there were no ice machines in the hotel and that we would have to call the front desk. As we were leaving to check out, we located one on our floor. perhapps all staff should be informed of the hotels amenities. It also took 2 hours to receive the requested ice. The vending machine was not working and […] no one at the desk seemed to know how to handle that situation. Overall very disappointed in the hotel. bathtub was unsightly to look at as well. "Hotel D'Arts in Calgary"
The only thing that was somewhat disappointing was the lighting in the room. I found it very dark. The bathroom & shower area was incredible. Love the seat in the shower.
Unless you stay in a higher level of the hotel facing the pool , I was stuck at level 2 with no view , dirty , dusty and looking at the hood fan and makeup air unit , disappointed

"Another night"
Neat hotel although some of the amenities have to be questioned such as no safe in the room. The room was not as cleean as i would like it to be as the counter top next to the coffee maker was very sticky. The staff is good and as i have stayed there before there must be some reason for going back.
"Arts Hotel Calgary - super location,"
Acccess to great gym, resturants and down-town.
"Really?"
The hotel is lovely, the room so comfortable and clean, but being charged for wifi was a problem, when other, cheaper hotels do it as a courtesy. Also, our agency board members were given a rough time on check out, asked to pay for their own rooms when an arrangement had been made previously to have the rooms billed to the organizer's card. A bit more […] information and training to your front desk staff would be helpful. THe business centre was expensive and under stocked for our needs, and we were going to be charged a large fee for 1/2 an hour of wifi service in one of our workshops. THe food was fantastic, but I don't know the price as I was not the organizer. the separater walls in the conference rooms are grubby from hand marks from take-down and set up. kind of gross for such a high end feeling hotel! The lobby is gorgeous, wonderful decorating, Lisez la suite

Could have the ceilings repainted, looks like might need a bit of a facelift
"pleased"
Very pleased with hotel. Service was excellent and the location was very convenient. The room itself was comfortable with trendy decor. Bed/linens/pillows were clean and comfortable. Only complaint was the lighting was very dark in the room with only two desk lamps and no overhead lighting. Toiletries were AVEDA products which was a nice touch. Overall, […] very pleased. "Hotels Arts in Calgary, AB"
The rooms were small, overpriced and not the cleanest I've been in. I had to ask for a bed sheet to put over the chair in my room so I could even sit on it. As little time as possible was spent in my room as they are not friendly with those who have any allergies to dust.
"Hotel Arts in Calgary"
We had stayed at the Hotel Arts previously and liked it so much we didn't look anywhere else for our next trip to Calgary. Our trip this time wasn't as fabulous as the first. The room was just as lovely upon arrival, but our neighbours were very, very noisy.....they partied in their room, came back in the wee hours of the morning, and engaged in a lovers' […] spat. We could hear everything. Not for a very restful sleep. On the 2nd night, we did call down to the front desk, and I think they spoke to the guests next door. The 2nd night of our stay we also returned to the room and nothing had been cleaned. While we don't like our towels and sheets changed every day, we do appreciate coming back to a made bed and a wiped down bathroom area. Nonetheless, we'll likely stay again, but only if we get a great rate. Lisez la suite
"Lovely concept, poorly finished"
Booked a one night stay for business purposes, the hotel was recommended as being a hip and trendy place to stay. We did not arrive till late evening and were offered an upgrade to a king suite with a queen pull out but we declined. I think our original room had been allocated elsewhere as I had booked a luxury room and the receptionist struggled to […] find us a suitable room. Eventually we did get a city view room overlooking the pool but on inspection of the room we are quite amused at how the decor and interior was finished. Our room door was the worst fitted i had ever seen with a huge gap at one end and a very wonky fit the other. The marbled tiling was either not professionally finished or the materials used were substandard and a large proportion we very chipped or broken, giving the overall feel of shabbiness to the room. The room was very dark and we could hear everything going on outside our room throughout the night. The beds and bedding were comfortbale but with the noise outside we did not have a good nights sleep. Breakfast was OK, good choice of buffet foods, the scrambled eggs had been very overcooked but otherwise all else was edible. We asked for water with our breakfast and we had to return it as it was served in dirty glasses, no fuss was made and clean ones were returned. Check-out was smooth, housekeeping were quick in on our departure and the car park key deposit box was full and had not been emptied with the morning departures. This review should not be a relection of the staff as they were efficient, professional and very polite. I have stated that I would not recommend the hotel as the general price is not comparable to other 31/2 star hotels in the city. We did get our room at a good price but would have very upset if we had been paying the rack rate. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Arts"
A '' Mr. Mike's '' concept. The steak (the room) sound cheap but by the time you add the potato (parking) and vegetables (internet), it costs the same as a steak at a better restaurant.

"Weekend retreat for a local"
Parking was a little awkward with key card access in and out. City street tearup is one of the seasonal challenges that didn't help. Not the hotels fault- just added to the awkwardness Close to a lot of amenities- downtown and Inglewood
"Good choice for pet friendly hotel"
It was nice that a hotel of this caliber takes pets. The hotel was close to where we had an appointment and some shopping. It was clean and the service was great. The price was reasonable but unfortunately we had to pay for wireless Internet.
"Good value, but be read all reviews"
Hotel is in a good location. Beware of rooms facing the pool in summer. Loud DJ during the day and into the evening. Air conditioner is fairly noisy, and seemed maxed out, as the room could have been cooler. No fridge, and door lock had some issues (that were fixed). Room was clean and staff were friendly. Rates offered good value.
"Poor ventilation"
The hotel has a great lobby and pool area The room i stayed at was nice, but the ventilation system hummed all night and i got no sleep. Calling the front desk wasn't any help I wouldn't stay here again as there are much better alternatives close by.
