I never once felt welcomed at this hotel for the week that I was there. I always felt as though I was intruding on them and inconveniencing them by staying there. First of all there is no shuttle service from the hotel to airport and vice versa - not cool when you have no other means of transportation within the city. Secondly - They do however have […] a shuttle that runs to and from the conference center in town, which I originally thought was a plus, but its doesn't start running till 8am - well that doesn't exactly work when the conference I was attending had all the sessions starting at 8am too. So it was either be late or fork out more money for taxis. And lastly, they charge for the breakfast buffet that has the same quality food that you can get for free at a much cheaper rate hotel. Very nice place except the fact of being nickle n dimed for everything. Nine dollar charge to park your car in the parking lot of the hotel your paying to spend the night at is a quite absurd. The breakfast was good but had to pay for it. Over all a pleasant stay.

Traveling often for business, I rely on the hotel staff to point me in the direction of best places to eat, meet and visit. Shockingly, of the four different front desk staff I spoke with, no one had any knowledge of the area. It was like none of them have ever been there before. Very odd. Great location - 2 minutes from I-4 and within walking distance to Ybor City. The rooms are clean, the staff was nice, love the later check-out time. The only thing that bothered me was that we were charged to park in the onsite hotel parking lot.

Overall hotel was very well kept and service was great. I asked about breakfast one morning which would have been $10 but the manager gave it to me for free out of the blue. Nice location for Ybor City attractions and clubs, and the pool and hot tub were nice. Unfortunately the elevator broke down twice during our visit (including at our arrival) so […] hauling luggage wasn't the best and during busy times elevator was very slow. Stayed here on the way too and from a cruise. Very convenient location near the cruise terminal and historic part of Ybor. Friendly staff, clean and well equipped hotel room. Would definitely stay here again.

I really liked this hotel. Everything was easy and my stay went without a hitch. Staff were very helpful, loved the fresh free cookies, and the free Internet was a lifesaver. Also liked the pool. I had everything I needed and there were no headaches at all. The historical district was also very colorful and full of character, unlike the rest of Tampa. […] I liked the streetcar, too. I stayed here twice now and the first time was better. It's a Hilton Garden Inn so it has a fridge and microwave which I like, it was also a smoking room which I liked. My biggest gripe was that the carpet in o9ur room had never been steam cleaned and when you walked into the bathroom it literally looked like you were tracking mud from outside, that […] was really gross. Ybor City is right outside the hotel door. The hotel is located on 9th Avenue and all the action in Ybor City takes place on 7th, 8th, and 9th. I especially liked the noon check out time and the breakfast is good. The only downside is the daily parking fee. We took the trolley for the 20 minute ride from Ybor City to Downtown Tampa. It was fun.

Located on the edge of Centro Ybor, and a short drive or long walk to downtown Tampa- you can't be the location and price.

Nice hotel..... clean rooms and a very helpful staff. In-room AC was a bit loud, and the one elevator was very slow. Still, would stay there again

our desk personnel ladies were so sweet and accomodating; helping us with restaurant reservations; shopping and shuttle service. they were all so polite and genuinely friendly. the rooms were very comfortable as well. overall a great experience!

I have stayed here before and really liked it. But this time they put me in a room with a huge swath of mold growing on the ceiling. The musty smell made my eyes watery after a night. It had run down couches in the lobby. Parking was expensive. The breakfast wasn't that great and was expensive.

Great location and very comfortable. You have to pay for parking, which isn't ideal, but it's so close to everything, you almost don't mind. Almost.

The reception and concierge staff is great, they will go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay at the hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff and perfect location if you like the "night life"

yes hotels.con gave us a decent price however hilton charges extra for everything $9.00 to self park your car, or to park blocks away.

You have to pay to park at the Hotel, which is a first for me. We paid enough for the room. Breakfast was really bad. It should have been given away instead of charging $9.95. The front desk people were great, but paying to park and poor food is a reason I wouldn't stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; we were close to all the places we planned on visiting! We would reccommend The Hilton Garden Inn to friends and family!!

Hotel is very convenient to Ybor City historic district and as it is a couple blocks away, very quiet. Guests were quiet, too. The evolution bed that was advertised was not that comfortable - even after trying many adjustments and I hated the pillows. The evening staff at the front desk and in the main lobby were wonderful! R. gave us a recommendation […] to a local restaurant (not in Ybor City) that was fantastic and R. at the bar was great, too. However, the daytime staff were not very hospitable considering they were managing a hotel. We had gone out in the morning to hit the beaches and returned around 3:00 pm expecting to clean up and relax in our room. Our room had not even been turned around yet! We finally got the room cleaned, but it was rather inconvenient and the staff's attitude was not very service-oriented. They did give us free breakfast the following day for the trouble, but it wasn't until after a third brisk conversation with the daytime manager. I guess I expected much better service from a Hilton. Very nice stay..

The location of this hotel can’t be beat. If you have business or pleasure to attend to in Ybor City near Tampa I highly recommend this hotel. My only quibble (and it is a minor one) was the lack of channels on the TV. What ever happened to hotels supplying cable channels like Comedy Central and HBO? The room was large and comfortable with excellent […] lighting. The bed was very comfortable but the mechanism used to make it softer or harder seemed to be broken. I stay frequently at HGI and was pleased with the hotel;though the bed was adverised as having the capability of adjusting firmness; no adjustment knob was available.

If you are interested in the bar and club, this hotel is great. It is two blocks away from Ybor. It is far enough away that you don't hear it, and our room faced the main party street in Ybor. I would suggest walking at night to the east, the neighborhood is...um...ghetto, yeah that is a good word for it. The hotel was great the staff was very helpful, […] my girlfriend requested a different pillow (neck problems), and not only did they deliver, they asked if that helped or not...or if they could bring a different one. I would say the only complaint I would have is they forgot to deliver the bill to my door the morning we checked out...not the end of the world, just not normal. Lisez la suite

The staff (front desk, breakfast counter person & bartender) were extremely professional and accomodating. They were friendly. The hotel is one block away from Ybor City nightlife, then on Saturday morning, there was an adopt-a-pet/Saturday morning market going on in the park across the street. It was a fabulous stay.

i had occasion to visit Ybor for a show at one of the clubs. The Hilton Garden was in the perfect location. I could easily walk to the venue. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My only one small complaint was the printers and/or computers were not working properly in the business center so I couldn't print out my boarding pass. Small problem […] .... no biggie. This is my 2nd stay in this hotel and it is a great location and well kept hotel. Breakfast was not included but they did have an exceptional breakfast for $9-10.

It's a bit on the pricey side of things and you have to pay for parking, but the staff is friendly and it is walking distance to pretty much anything Ybor. location is the BEST. If you have the money it's worth it, however they also charge you extra per person over one which seems a bit ridiculous but again it was a great location so as long as you […] have the money it is WELL worth it! In the day light everything looked great. The hotel was beautiful; had a nice pool and lounge area. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. There is a trolley that takes you to Channel side and Downtown for only $5 for 24hours which was very close to the hotel along with many food options. Ybor City was "historic"...old buildings etc. But at night the […] area went from trendy to trashy. There were street fights, large groups of people hanging out on the corners, drugs and we also got approached by a prostitute. After our first night out there we stayed in or went downtown or by the University. We just didn’t feel safe and locals referred to that area as the ghetto. We had never been to Tampa so it was a learning experience. This area was also very far from shopping malls and the free shuttle only takes you within 5miles of the hotel (which didn’t get us far at all). Overall it was a decent experience but I wouldn’t recommend this area to stay in. Lisez la suite

Excellent stay...highly recommended

Hotel was clean & within walking distance to most of Ybor City. I would stay agin. Friendly staff.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't have time for the full buffet breakfast, so they let me get a piece of fruit and bagel from the continental buffet for no charge. I appreciated their flexibility and overall excellent customer service.

The Hilton was an excellent location for our After Party Stay in ybor. I didn't like that the two beds were full size. It was too small for two people to sleep on. I also didn't like that as a guest I had to pay to park my car on property. Is it because of the economy that they're charging for parking? Plus room service should be available 24/7.
