Really a beautiful hotel - open-air and spacious, a fantastic layout and more intricate and unique than I expected from a chain hotel group. We had a premium package room and it turned out to be on the second floor so the 'view' would have been of the open air reception area except that any view was completely obscured by huge palm fronds from the trees surrounding the building. You literally could see nothing else. Also, we had the air-conditioning set at its lowest temperature of 65 degrees […] and the actual room temperature never dropped below 72 degrees (we had a clock with a temperature sensor). We also had our breakfast included in our package and both mornings when we went down for breakfast, they did not have a record of that. I can almost understand making an error the first day, but why was it not corrected for the second? The serving staff in both the dining room and the breakfast room were not very attentive or responsive, with the exception of a server named 'Cathy' in the breakfast service, who was excellent...Finally, the food served at both meals was only mediocre, and given the prices, very disappointing. We much prefer quality over quantity when comes to dining out, and are willing to pay extra for a nice meal. This did not qualify in our estimation. As a side note, we have stayed at Marriott Hotels in many different countries and this was a surprisingly disappointing stay. We will not stay there again. Lisez la suite

Was not sure what to expect but we were pleased with the Hotel. The best part was the Ocean front view! We were about 20 feet away from the Ocean! I loved the soft bed no backaches the whole trip! The Breakfast Buffet was excellent and the staff was so friendly and helpful! We wanted an ocean front room which was a great view, but a hike everytime we wanted to do anything. The hotel doesn't have a beach so you have to walk abt 1/2 a mile to find a beach, and it's not a very nice one at that. We were there over New Year's and the on premises restaurant was closed Dec 30 and 31 for a private New Year's Eve rehearsal and […] celebration . . . very inconvenient especially for families who probably planned to stay on resort. The hotel really should have disclosed the restaurant closure up front. MaLa meals were terrible. The grill by the poolside had great food, but they close at sun down. No elevators in the building that housed our room which was an unwelcome surprise as I had a sprained knee, a room on the top floor and no other rooms available on the resort. Something else the hotel should have disclosed up front. The maid service on the room was terrible - 3 of the 6 nights we were there we had to have the room serviced twice, towels replenished, etc. We wouldn't stay at this hotel again. Lisez la suite

The bell guys at the front of the hotel are a little pushy though -- but must all hotels they are, it seems. It saves extra money taking your own luggage to and from your hotel room, if you are packing […] light, just ask the check-in clerk where your room is located and take it yourself. Oh, and this hotel is HUGE and A LOT of walking to get to and from!!!! seriously! bring some comfy tennis shoes and flipflops!!!! This hotel also offers luaus and snorkeling and they have water slides that are super fun and paddle surfing and a couple huge adult pools and jacuzzies!...and this hotel is right on the beach/ocean, very convenient! and pretty sunsets!!!! A++++ and a 5 Star Hotel, hands down. You won't be disappointed at all. The hotel location and its look and feel are very nice. The beach is right there, pools, hot tubs, everything was amazing. Also, it seems to be one of the affordable hotels in the area. Staff in general is very friendly and is eager to help. One thing to note is that Ocean Front rooms are not ocean front, they either are too far from the ocean, or don't […] face it. My room was not facing the Ocean, and had only obstructed view of it, however it was called (and was charged as) "Ocean Front". If you want a real ocean front room, you need to get the "Ocean Front Deluxe". There's also a common thing to all Marriott hotels: internet is not free, and its price is far from being realistic. The only free internet in the hotel is next to the starbucks. If you don't have a car, entertainment options in a walkable distance are very limited. If you want to do snorkeling, they will pick you up at the hotel, but for everything else we were doing during our stay we needed a rental car. Rentals at the hotel are 70+ bucks a day (120 for convertable). Also they charge you $30 a days as a resort fee in addition to the price of the room (it is not included in the price when you reserve it over the internet). The Wailea Beach Marriott was perfect. My wife and I just went there at the end of September for the first 5 days of our honeymoon. The resort had recently put in $50-60MM in renovations and while I didn't see the before, it definitely looked great after. We got bumped up to a partial ocean view room for free, which was within 100 steps of the beach […] and pool. Perhaps the best part for any couples, whether our age (25) or older is the infinity pool - it was relaxing, serviced by waitresses with good drinks and food, and best of all it was quiet as it was an adult only pool! I highly recommend the Wailea Beach Marriott for any families or couples looking for a perfect Hawaiian vacation. Overall a great hotel. I was not that impressed with the resturants on site. The food by the pool was great but not a great option for lunch or dinner. There are some great places to eat within walking distance or a short drive. Monkey Pod was fantastic, A 5 minute drive. Typical BIG hotel and had a bit of a business feel to it.

Walkway Marriott exceeded our expectations from the get go. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The accommodations were superb. There is a great view of the sunset from the hotel restaurant. The hotel is conveniently located to a nearby shopping center with upscale retailers and excellent restaurants. The serenity pool is a great place to relax as well as the hot tubs.

The views from any angle from the hotel are incredible. The grounds are very well kept Having the infinity pool exclusive for 18 and older makes for a relaxing environment. Our room did not have the two queen beds and crib we requested, or the ocean view we paid for. In our request we also stated that we would be traveling with our 18 m/o grandson and that we needed a room that was convent for easy for our grandson. The original room was neither centrally located or convent, we needed had to walk down three flights of […] stairs. We requested another room but the hotel staff told us that there we no other vacancies. We spend that night in the room provided. The next morning we requested a room change, the room they offered us was no better, and did not have the ocean view that we paid for. The staff told me there may be a room that meets our needs later that afternoon and that we would receive a call from them when it was available. We never received a call from the hotel. We arrived back to the hotel around 5:30 PM and I went to the front desk to inquire about our room change. The staff member offered another room, I went to see the room and it looked ok to me, two queen beds a nice ocean view, however at the time I did not notice that it was also located directly over a service entrance and all the hotels dumpsters, but once we made the move from the original room to the new room it was the first thing my wife noticed. That was the topping on the cake, once again I requested a room change, and I was given the same answer as the night before. They charge $30.00 per day hotel fees and it does not include access to internet in the room, they want to charge extra $14.00 per day for internet access per day if I want internet in my room and that is ridiculous and what they offered for $30.00 per day for services was worthless to me except the free parking.

The marriott is in a great location walking distance from two nice beaches. The rooms are okay, the joys of 5 different pools is very nice. This was our third trip to hawaii and fourth different island and seventh new place to stay. I do think that there are places to stay that are just as nice and way cheaper. My husband and I stayed here from 5/4/12 - 5/11/12. We had a great time and would definately go back! the room: we had an ocen view room; view was perfect for the price; bed was soft and comfortable; tile floor was good for dealing with the sand when you got back from the beach; great deep bathtub; great water pressure in the shower; had a small refrigerator, […] but would have been nice to have a microwave location: perfect! we went to wailea beach which is basicaly to the right of the hotel; we got beach towels from our hotel and took the short walk to the beach and rented snorkel gear and chairs w/ umbrells for the day (total cost $60 per day); there is an outdooor mall called the shops of wailea by the hotel that we walked to that also had a couple of places to eat; we also bought snacks for the room there. hotel dining: this was a disappointment; went to the breakfast buffett and found it to be disgusting! the buffett is open to the outside and overlooks a great view of the ocean but the birds are relentless in trying to eat your food off your plate--there are several of them and they actually land on the table while you are trying to eat. We were have to try to wave them off of us while we ate...very gross. pools/ hot tub: the pools overlook the ocea and didn't seem very crowded, but we usually went to the beach. we did go to the hot tub at night which was nice. would have been good if the bar and grill there stayed open later to get drinks/snacks at night.
