"Ariel House Avril 2012"Avis d'un client Hotels.com envoyé le 30 avr. 2012
Hotel très calme proche du centre ville, à trois stations par le train,15 minutes de trajet, la gare est à 100 m de l'hotel. Le personnel est très serviable et les chambres sont confortables, le tout dans un batiment ancien qui ne manque pas de charme.

Nous n'y étions que pour une nuit, mais la chambre était très propre et l'hôtel bien situé dans Dublin.

"Very nice place"
The hotel is great located, is in a quiet quarter, with free wifi and great equiped rooms (they even have a European electric plug per room). The room was large, the bathroom too. The only inconvenient is the quality of the windows glasses. It's good, but you even hear louds noises. The reception is good, and the hotel is beautiful as inside than outside. All […] comodities are accessible by walking. Not tested the breakfast and the restaurant. Very nice place. I recommand.
This hotell is located in the heart of Dublin, with the park Stephens Green just across the road. The staff is very friendly, rooms are nite and clean. I was sick upon arrival. The hotell-doctor gave me medical care, and I got well. I can recomend the townhotel and it's friendly people. Have a safe stay!
"Excellent Location."
Very nice hotel.Would stay there again, friendly staff and bedrooms very clean. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice.Excellent location very near to the city centre.
"Ok but not perfect"
All in all a good hotel. Staff very friendly and good location for central Dublin. The two negative things were little sound protection of the room- there was constant and in my mind loud noice from the street ( and to some degree from the hall) and that the temperature of the water especially in the shower was extremely difficult to adjust- so at some […] points the water felt boiling hot... Ohh, and one note about Dublin: prepare for rain...!! Lisez la suite
For a 4* hotel, we were very unimpressed with the fact that our shower wouldn't drain properly, ending up with a flooded bathroom. Even after pointing this out to the front desk, and having it "supposedly" fixed, the situation continued. We requested a second room key/card, and was told the machine was broken...too bad!!The best thing going for this […] hotel was it's location!!! Lisez la suite
"easy walk to most everything"
Bar food was very good and at a reasonable rate. Can't say the same for brealfast. Not many TV stations. I would stay again
"Great location"
Excellent location 5 mins walk from graffton street Comfortable with very good service Good value for money given location
"GREAT HOTEL FOR THE PRICE"
SPENT FIVE NIGHTS AT THE HOTEL WITH MY GRAND-DAUGHTER OVER THE EASTER BREAK. lANDED EARLY IN THE MORNING FROM A TWELVE HOUR FLIGHT WITH LAYOVERS AND WAS REALLY HAPPY THAT THE HOTEL HAD A ROOM AVAILABLE FOR US TO CHECK-IN WHEN WE ARRIVED. I HAD A TWIN BED ROOM AND WAS HAPPY WITH THE SPACE AND CLEANDLINESS OF THE ROOM. THE BATHROOMS ARE LARGE. THE LIGHTING […] IN THE ROOM IS POOR FOR READING. FOOD AT THE HOTEL WAS AVERAGE. RECOMMEND EATING OUT IN THE LOCAL AREA. PLENTY OF GREAT PLACES(BEWLEY'S, CAFE EN SEINE, OLIVERS AND LOT'S OTHERS ALL WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE). FRONT DESK PERSONNEL WERE THE BEST I'VE ENCOUNTERED RECENTLY. HELPFUL WITH ANY REQUEST THAT YOU MAY HAVE. THEY GO OUT OF THERE WAY TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE INFO THAT YOU NEED. THIS WAS A NICE TRIP AND I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN WHEN I TRAVEL TO DUBLIN. CLOSE TO MANY TOURIST ATTRACTIONS. QUIET AND SAFE. Lisez la suite
"Not as nice as some reviews state"
This hotel was very shabby. Our room was covered in a layer of dust and the bathroom had mildew. The sheets didn't fit the bed and kept coming off. SThe location was great and the staff were nice. Wasn't worth the price we paid.
"O'Callaghan Stephens Green - Dublin"
Disappointing stay. Internet access in the room was non-exsistent which makes business travel very difficult as I was forced to work in the restaurant, lobby, or business center. The shower had a "half wall" which lead to water all over the floor everytime it was used. The paint in the bathroom had peeled. The restaurant did not open 'til 7:15am for […] breakfast which eliminates that as an option if one has an 8am business meeting elsewhere in the city. While the hotel is convenient to most things in the city centre I will not be staying here again. Lisez la suite
We had stayed at O'Callaghan Stephens Green before. Great location easy to walk to major shopping areas and pubs. We were over for St. Patrick's Day and knew prices would be higher but felt taken advantage of by the over the top prices. We will probably stay again but not on a holiday weekend.
"O'Callaghan Stephen's Green"
The hotel appeared to be newly renovated, service was good and overall it was a great experience. Convenient to walk to pubs, bars, restaurants, etc.
"Nice hotel with great location"
The hotel was nice and clean with friendly staff. Very close to Grafton street with shopping and bars, you can walk to almost everywhere. Great place to stay in sentral Dublin, would absolutely recommend this hotel.

"O'Callaghan Stephen's Green"
We got into Dublin at 6am with all of our luggage and nowhere to go that early. We went by the hotel on the off-chance that they'd let us leave our luggage until check-in time. Because they happened to have a room ready, they allowed us to check in early. That was a such a relief! Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and pleasant rooms. We had a lovely […] stay. "fourth time staying"
We stay in this hotel anytime we are in Dublin.its in a quiet location but is a quick walk from the city centre and a walk through stephens green park in the morning is heaven! Staff are efficient, helpful and friendly.

"O'Callaghan stephens green - friendly welcome"
great value hotel. May not have the "boutique" appeal of nearby places but I would say the rooms are overall better (bigger) although absence of a fridge is noted. The staff are very friendly. It's always a pleasant experience to stay at this hotel.
"Great location, poor hotel"
While the hotel is well situated near the heart of Dublin yet in a quieter part of town, this hotel missed the mark for me. Not once, but twice, I was given room keys that were not functional. The person at reception didn't bat an eyelash at her mistakes as their card machine wasn't functioning well and they had no one on staff over the weekend to attend […] to it. Then I asked for a wake-up call at 5:30am and a taxi at 6:00am. Instead, I was awakened at 5:00am and called at 5:45am that my taxi had left after waiting several minutes. Who lets an ordered taxi sit several minutes and leave before calling the guest?? Just no attention to detail by the staff here. Lisez la suite

I thought it was interesting they do not offer wash cloths as part of their linen package. The television selection was not very good as they only offered about 10 selections and one of those was at times in Gaelic. Overall, we thought the hotel and its staff were excellent. It was in a centralized location so you could get wherever you needed to go […] within walking distance and I never felt threatened by its location. It was very safe. We would definitely stay there again. Lisez la suite

"O'Callaghan Hotel"
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The business centre printer kept jamming was old and should have been replaced. The fitness facility was closed supposedly being refurbished but this was not mentioned prior to booking. That said my one night stay was fine given the Hotel.com rates .
"O'Callaghans Stephens Green we'll be back"
This hotel is very central for everything you'd want to do in Dublin. It's a comfortable clean hotel with very friendly staff who do their best to be helpful.(But couldn't find a needle and threadfor us!) The bar food was very nice, the bed was extremely comfortable and although our room was above a very busy street it was lovely and quiet. We enjoyed […] watching the Luas tram pulling in and out of St Stephens Green disgorging Christmas shoppers, students and people going to work while we ate a leisurely breakfast. We would definitely go back. Lisez la suite

"Great Stay"
Hotel is in good location, close walk to pubs and bars. Rooms were quiet, nice, clean and the staff were more than friendly. After four nights I had nothing to complain about at all. This is the place you want to stay if you are a tourist and want to be close to all the attractions. Can't go wrong.
"Hotel Rooms awful on 2 sides of Hotel"
Stayed here for a romantic break with my wife for some Christmas shopping. The first night we got no sleep because we were on the 2nd floor at the front of the Hotel. There were people on the street who we could hear in great detail. The windows offered no sound proof. Even worse, in the early hours around 5 am we could hear the delivery truck wich woke […] us up. At check in the lady was straight forward but not overly pleasant. Fortunately when we asked for a change of room the next morning the young man at reception was very helpful and immediately got us a new room on the opposite side. Another probelm with both rooms was that privacy was very limited if you wanted to let the day light in. The reason for this is because there are no net curtains on either side so everyone can see intro your room. The new room was even worse because there was a window from opposite room where people could see directly in. There were no net curtains but at least the young man at reception was trying his best. I last stayed here in 2007 at the back of this Hotel and never noticed this before because at that time there was nowehere to view into our room. At check out the staff did not ask us if we enjoyed our stay. There were no smiles or anything. Doesn't bother me but I often think its a tell tale sign of their attitude when they don't smile. Anyway overall it was a poor stay with one nights sleep lost and at best - average customer service overall. Another thing about the rooms. You can't plug in any power at the bed side. You have to sit at the desk at the front. We asked for extension lead and were told they were all at the boardroom for a meeting! Poor answer. This hotel should easily be able to provide a spare extension lead. I have to say I am very dissapoointed and won't be staying here again. My Wife agrees fully with this. The only positive was the reaction of the young man in changing our room but even then, he should have escalated the fact we didn't get any sleep to the man Lisez la suite

"St. Stephen's Green Hotel - pity about the staff!"
Hotel room was nice and the hotel itself was in a good location but the staff were not very helpful and some were quite rude. We paid for a late checkout (2.30 p.m.) and one of the staff barged into our room at 12.15 p.m. shouting that we were late for checkout.. not impressed!!!
"St Stephens Green Hotel"
Great location - close to Harcourt St pubs, Grafton St shopping and nite life. The room in the hotel had a broken shower which would only spray scaldingly hot water so had to use the hand held nozzle from the bath mixer tap which was inconvenient and a bit messy. We had breakfast in the hotel one morning which was ok, but the following morning we went […] out for a nicer breakfast at a cafe. Lisez la suite
"Good value"
My husband and I stayed for only one night at O'Callaghan Stephen Green and were satisfied with our stay. We had reserved a regular room, but when we found out that the toilet wouldn't flush and the phone was broken, the staff moved us to another room on the same floor. When we realized that the lock on the door wasn't functioning properly on the new […] room, the staff apologized and gave us a suite. We happened to stay during the freak rainstorm in Dublin in October, and the excessive water was causing problems at the hotel - so although the staff seemed on-edge, they seemed to do a good job under thr trying circumstances. "Great location for good price"
We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of this hotel and its great location. It is very clean with a really big room and a huge bed which was very comfortable. It is within walking distance of Grafton Street and yet is far enough away so is quite peaceful. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel and would happily stay again.
"O Callaghans Hotel"
Basic hotel but in a good location. Staff friendly and welcoming. Paid for breakfast the following morning but it definitely wasnt worth the charge

"Very Friendly Staff"
The staff was very understanding and friendly, helping us to deal with several situations, such as a 5:30 am arrival, or a broken glass late in the evening. They were great with recommendations, directions, and friendly greetings at the end of a long day. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
"Central Dublin hotel"
Very convenient location and spacious rooms.
"A very nice hotel close to the center of Dublin"
We stayed in one of the junior suites on the top floor and had a nice view from the balcony. The hotel is just opposite Stephen's Green, a large well maintained park, and just a few minutes walk to the Grafton Street. The hotel contributed significantly to the success of our visit in Dublin and we would not hesitate to choose this hotel again at a future […] visit. Lisez la suite

"Do not stay here"
The desk person was unhappy and cranky. The rooms are truly awful and need major updating. The shower was terrible. I am a positive, glass half-full type of person, and have never written a negative review before. This place is disgusting.
"Door Problems"
Had a group with 5 rooms. Over a period of several days we had to be issued way over 50 new sets of keys because the keys would not work. Nice people, good location, and nice rooms. No free internet or real coffee.
"A nice stay, but nothing great"
This hotel was comfortable, but the fact that there were all these surcharges for internet, tv, breakfast and so on I would have been better off at a budget hotel. The service should have made up for it, but the staff did not seem to know the area and could not give us great directions without having to look at a map or call somewhere to get directions […] themselves. I was charged 9.95 for internet/tv package only to find out it didn't work and only after complaining did that charge get removed and they tell me that it is 2.99 for the hour but it is done through the web browser. It seemed a litlle strange to me and if I didn't speak up, I'm afraid I would still have gotten charged both. Lisez la suite
"Dublin Stay - June 2011"
Hotel in great location - short distance to shopping, trinity college, St. Patricks etc. Only complaint no hot water one morning (boiler got turned off - not sure what that was about) Overall good experience.
"Great location, outstanding service"
The hotel is in a perfect location, near to everything, but in a quiet spot close to restaurants, pubs and stores. Rooms were recently renovated, air conditioned. The chairs which were chosen are designer chairs, not comfortable. Staff was very accomodating, responding to our every request. Overall, a very nice stay. Only complaint is charge for internet. […] We didn't have to pay for internet at any other place in Ireland. Internet is slow and expensive. Buy a router for god's sake. Lisez la suite
"if staying in Dublin, O'Callaghan's Stephens Green"
The hotel staff was more than helpful for the duration of our stay. We were located a block from Graffton St., which my wife loved for the shopping, and not far at all from the fun that is Temple Bar. I would recommend this place to anyone that has never been to Dublin, it is very convenient.
