"Not ready for customers"
I was assigned 2 different rooms and each one was s being cleaned and not ready for me. Finally got one but the electric outlets on the desk did not work to charge my computers. Overall hotel needs a major facelift and cleaning. Personnel were nice though.

Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great.Rooms are a little small but still ok.Biggest complaint ...PAYING FOR PARKING.Overall would stay again but would expect the parking overnight to be comped///

"Comfortable bed; plenty of parking."
The bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get up! We had no complaints about this hotel. The staff was very friendly, parking was ample, room was very clean. This hotel is located .88 miles from the Charleston Civic Center.
"Elevator"
Great stay overall . But if you have a fear of elevators, which my fiance has, the 1st one makes a lot of strange noises...lol.

"A good place to stay"
As a traveler for my employer, I have the opportunity to stay at a number of hotel chains. I really enjoyed my stay at this property in Charleston West Virginia. The room was spacious, clean and smelled fresh. The only complaint I have is that the bed was a little too soft for my liking, and the desk chair was old and very uncomfortable. "Clean room"
Good service at the hotel - staff was friendly and responsive. The complimentary breakfast is excellent. Good coffee, fruit, waffles, cereal, etc -
Clean, comfortable hotel centrally located to many of the attractions, hospital, and places of business in Charleston.

The employees were very nice but was disappointed in the room. I had to pay $20 more a night then my usual hotel and they didn't even have a frig, And when you book somewhere as many nights as I have to for business this is very helpful. The room we had faced the parking lot which had bright lights for security reasons . The window however did not have a darkening shade to keep the light out which made sleeping very difficult. Installing a night shade would make the stay much better.

"Good port in the storm"
Stayed at Fairfield Inn Charlston en rout to Florida on 77. Stopped due to impending weather which closed in overnight. The Inn was clean and modern and the staff helpful and efficient. I definitely recommend this hotel to travelers to the state capitol.

Nice clean hotel very close to civic center, mall, etc. Easy to find, friendly staff, great breakfast, this is a great hotel at a great price.

We stayed here in the summer and found the rooms old and in need of updates. This time around my kids and I found the 6th floor to be updated and much more comfortable. The beds are fantasticly comfortable! We ate breakfast and found many choices to please everyone. The only thing missing was fresh fruit. "A most pleasant experience"
The room was clean, the bed was great, and the selection for breakfast was fantastic. The waffles (bake your own from the provided batter, were outstanding. The coffee in the room was disappointing, but the coffee in the lobby was excellent.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels but all the staff we encountered were friendly and exactly what we needed to put a smile on our face as we headed out to travel on Thanksgiving Day. This hotel is in an unsavory part of town. We started to walk to a restaurant 2 blocks away that was recommended by the hotel staff and had to turn back because there were some rough characters hanging out on a street corner. When we checked into the hotel we flushed the toilet in the room and it didn't stop running. They had to move us to an different […] room. When we used the wash basin in that room, it filled up and refused to drain. We reported that problem when we checked out and there was no apology or thank you for reporting it. "A comfortable and warm hotel in a cold city"
Downtown Charleston isn't exactly well-known for it's scenic city blocks, but this Fairfield Inn is nestled right off of I-77. The hotel itself upon entrance is very professional. It smells and looks clean and felt warm and welcoming. The staff was courteous, prompt, and professional. The rooms had many amazing points: - The room was clean and had […] a pleasant, gentle scent. The furniture was clean and the room's amenities in bright shape with no visible wear. - The beds are an absolute dream! I travel so often, and these are some of the softest beds I've ever rested on. I am so impressed! The beds were clean, fresh, and the sheets were so soft! - The TV. Oh, the TV. This baby had ALL the channels. I stopped counting at 70. I was able to watch AMC, Syfy, Cartoon Network, and Discovery. They don't skimp on the channels here! - The bathroom was very clean and spacious for a basic King suite. The shower curtain rod bows out, giving plenty of room in the shower (which is appreciated!). The location of the hotel is good as well. It is within driving distance of a very large mall, a great Steak House (5th Quarter, I believe it was called), and right in the heart of downtown. My only qualm is that the parking isn't secure - it's an open parking lot behind the hotel behind other businesses. I brought all of my belongings in and locked my car when I wasn't driving it. This was only because Charleston isn't exactly a rural town like I grew up in, it's a big city with big city problems. The hotel can't help that it's a rough city, but I felt much safer parking close to the front door and locking my car. I will definitely be staying again soon! Lisez la suite

This hotel is VERY tired. The elevator, carpets, furniture, bathroom, and mattress were excessively worn and the room had an offensive odor. Aside from being worn out, the room was clean. The staff was average. I am a Platinum Marriotts reward member, and this hotel does not remotely meet my expectations of what the brand stands for.

Visited in late October 2010 with a friend for a day. The hotel was very clean, the room was super comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and kind. The next morning during checkout we had breakfast and it was really good. They had a variety of choices. The neighborhood where it is at is near downtown and the movie theatre is a few blocks away. "8th floor offers better maintained rooms"
Initially checked in to a 6th floor room to discover at least 4 live spiders dangling from spider webs above door and window. Was moved to an 8th floor room. Woman at front desk mentioned staff who clean floors 2 and 8 are their best workers. Room was clean and comfortable. Wireless internet worked well and room offered a LG flatscreen tv with a good […] range of channels. Closest hotel to the Clay Center and close to offices/businesses in downtown Charleston. The hotel is very nice. The staff was very friendly. The bed was great. Everything was wonderful with one exception. The elevators were broken and we had to take our luggage up 5 flights of stairs to get to the 5th floor and noone assisted us with that.

"Nice Hotel"
Very nice and helpful staff!! Rooms were clean and had lots of pillows. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices. Only one elevator working. so that slowed people down a lot.

This hotel used to be pretty great, but the maintenance has slipped over the years. Two of the three elevators no longer work, and the remaining one is very small. If there is a crowd of any size checking in, you'll either wait to get to your room, or take the stairs. Considering their obviously high occupancy rate, this is really not an acceptable […] maintenance condition for a Fairfield Hotel. Service is usually friendly, and the rooms are clean, so that makes up for some of it. But the one remaining elevator creaks and groans so much that I'll only use it to go above the 4th floor.
