Situé au début du Grand Canal, Santa Croce fait face aux gares routière et ferroviaire. C'est un quartier tranquille, proche de l'agitation touristique mais peu affecté par celle-ci. Le pittoresque pont degli Scalzi est le lieu idéal pour observer le trafic animé du canal, et de nombreuses églises méconnues des touristes méritent une visite. Vous pourrez rejoindre le pont du Rialto en seulement 10 minutes à pied ou en bateau.

"Très bon emplacement"
Hôtel situé à 100m de la piazzale Roma, emplacement idéal car proche des bus, de la gare et des vaporettos. J'avais réservé une chambre double économique dans l'annexe. Chambre typiquement vénicienne avec petite salle de douche + toilettes mais très propres (chambre de 11m2) . Nous étions au 3eme étage, mais nous avions énormément de bruit du coup nous […] avons demandé à changer de chambre ce qu'ils ont fait volontiers. Personnel qui parle français et très agréable. Seul bémol : le petit-déjeuner qui n'était pas terrible (jus d'orange à la machine pas bon du tout, café pas bon) par contre vous pouvez prendre votre petit-déjeuner à la terrasse au jardin avec vue magnifique. "Bien placé, mais ça sent la cire..."
Hôtel bien situé, mais une odeur de cire dans la chambre fut très désagréable. Au moins, on peut mettre 5/5 sur la propreté. Le "do not disturb" ne dissuade pas la femme de ménage de venir frapper à la porte (et puisqu'on ne répond pas pour cause de sommeil, elle fait appeler la réception). Pour la grasse matinée, c'est raté. Pour la douche, il ne faut […] pas mesurer plus de 1,77m, car on touche le plafond (c'est le cas dans la chambre 502). Bref, j'espérais mieux de cet hôtel. Très bon accueil. Dès que le personnel a vu notre réservation, il nous a tout expliqué en français. Le plan qui nous a été fournit était très pratique pour ne pas ne perdre dans les ruelles et se retrouver toujours face à un pont! L’hôtel est situé à coté de la gare routière (et vraiment pas loin de la gare ferroviaire), ce qui permet, lorsqu'on arrive […] le matin, de déposer son sac et de partir pour la journée. A l'inverse le jour du départ! La plupart des lignes de transport en commun s'y arrêtent. Nous avions une chambre "basique" : un grand lit double + un lit simple. Très bonne literie. La chambre et la SDB étaient propres. Une fenêtre sur le jardin (dont nous n'avons pas profiter en janvier, mais qui est bien entretenu et semble agréable). Hôtel situé le long d'un petit canal et bénéficiant d'un jardin sur l'arrière. Double vitrage et climatisation. Service excellent, les réceptionnistes parlent français et anglais. Hotel was easy to find from bus station and is close to train station and waterbus too so if you don't want walk back from St Marks Square get on the bus. "Value and Style at the Transport Hub"
This was our second stay at the Olimpia. It has style, good service and value. Because we were returning a car and had a great deal of luggage from a month of travel, we chose to stay close to the Piazza Roma transport hub which provides easy access to all of Venice on the ACTV Vapporetti System. This is a great hotel in a very convenient location. Commute to the airport/train station takes a 5-to-10-minute walk. Main touristic attractions are 30 to 40 minutes away by walking, and much less if you choose to take the vaporetto (2 minutes away). Great location! We took a local city bus at airport to city square drop-off point, and hotel was right there! We walked to it! And just a short, one-block walk to the "People Mover" that took us to the cruise ship. And their buffet breakfast was a wonderful, delicious and a very large selection surprise that even had a waiter to refill coffee, water, […] etc... The bathroom was also spacious. The hotel was closely located to the bus terminal and train station, which was perfect for our trip. The hotel was under renovation when we were there. The room was in a difficult location in the hotel, but the room was huge and had a nice view of a canal. The WiFi was available in the lobby but worked great. "Great location, watch out fo the steps"
This was a very fine hotel of its class. The staffs' English was very good, and they were very helpful. My room was in an annex to the hotel which did not have an elevator, but this was no problem for me, and the bellman helped bring my bags up stairs. The breakfast was a high point because they had scrambled eggs and a European style bacon on the menu. […] The location is only a short walk from the St. Lucia train station, and can be easily walked to. I wanted to visit the Church of St. Nicolas on the island of Lido. Looking at the map, it seemed that it would be impossible without a car. When I asked at the desk, they were able to give clear instructions on how to take the waterbus over to the island. The cab ride to the church was only 7.80 euros. It was fixed. There is a 20 euro 12-hour pass for the waterbus, and a person may want to consider that if one is moving around Venice. Finally, the downer was the canal bridge to the east of the train station. It does not have a ramp structure, and even though the steps are only 4-5 inches high, one has to carry one's bags up the bridge. Going down, with the small steps is no problem. Watch out for the folks who want to "help" you with your bags. They don't accept "no" easily. If they carry your bag, expect to be hounded by them for a tip. Staff were helpful and arranged transfer to airport, they also provide storage for bags when we arrived early from our cruise. This was a perfect hotel for our post cruise overnight stay. Located right across the canal from the bus station, there is only one easy bridge to cross with bags taking about 5 minutes to walk. After getting off the ship we were able to check in and drop our bags, then spent the day exploring Venice. Returning late afternoon, our bags were in our room. […] Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We were able to make our 6:45am flight by leaving the hotel at 4:40am, walking to the bus station to take the 5am ATVO airport express bus to the Marco Polo Venice airport. This hotel is just one street/canal from the bus station, very close to the train station and cruise ships, yet you still feel like you are part of old Venice. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. The place was clean and well maintained. The breakfest buffet (included in our stay) was very nice. The room we had, on the top floor, was very small […] with a low ceiling - but was quite lovely and charming with a very nice modern bath. However, if you are over six foot tall you might have trouble with the ceiling height esp. in the shower. The elevator is TINY. never seen one so small, not much bigger than a large dumbwaiter.
