A recommander.
Hotel a conseillé vivement 4.5/5

"Mercury South Beach"

"Poor value"
Perhaps other rooms are in different condition, but my husband and I found ourselves dumped in a very sad handicapped suite. The irony was, the suite was *two* heavy exterior doors from the elevator, one of which had an inoperable handicap opener, the other which had nothing. Irony #2 was that while the open shower - and the rest of the bathroom - had […] grab bars all the way around (which the "interior designers" outfitting the place obviously figured would eliminate the need for towel bars or hooks), there was a 3" curb between the shower area and bathroom, thusly eliminating the handicapped-accessibility of the shower. The waste line of the toilet was leaking - my foot landed in the sticky wet puddle more than once, and the aforementioned shower had a floor that didn't even slope to the drain, so a half-inch of water is left standing. It smelled vaguely of urine. The furniture was some combination of cheap and old: worse than standard-issue dorm stuff. When we ver first arrived in the room, there were at least 10 hairs all along the pillow line of the sheets - either they weren't changed from the last guests or the laundry equipment isn't sufficient. For what we paid - and I travel enough to have reasonable expectations - it was terribly disappointing. Should have shelled out another $50 a night for the Hilton around the corner. Lisez la suite
"One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in"
Overpriced dump in Miami. When we left our room for dinner we returned to masking tape on the door in the shape of an X, for which the hotel staff had no explanation for. After asking to be moved to another room due to partying neighbors and non-working air conditioning, the hotel denied us a new room even when we offered to pay more. Spend the extra […] cash and stay somewhere nice. Avoid this place at all costs. Lisez la suite

"Horrible experience"
Rooms are very dirty and need nice remodeling. And if you do not leave extra tips for the maid rooms will not be served at all. Cockroaches having a nice stay in this hotel too. All kinds and sizes from regular domestic to the huge street ones, which could fly as well. I should really complain about this but firstly didn't want to spoil my vacation […] and secondly personnel of the hotel were not supportive at all. Very Lazy and don't like to be disturbed. Therefore we had to hunt the insects ourselves during the whole stay. There was no telephone in the room at all? Very unusual for the 3-star hotel. So will definitely recommend this hotel to no one. "Best Beach Location"
This hotel is in a great location to walk to the best beach area on south beach. Only the locals know that 1st Street to 3rd Street is the locals beach. South of 5th Street also has some of the most expensive but top notch restaurants and upscale shopping outside of Lincoln Rd. Construction was underway for drainage problems all over South Beach and […] also by our hotel but you can't avoid that anywhere right now. The hotel can't be faulted for that. This is my second time at The Mercury because we love the location. The showers never work right. High clorine levels in the pool and hot tub will drastically fade your bathing suit so take an old one for that and you're good to go. Lisez la suite
"Nice micro apartment 5 min walk to southbeach"
Nice micro apartments with a uptodate decor. The layout made it feel comfortable and cosy despite the small size. It worked well for a family of 4 (one big bed + one sleepingsofa). Small kitchencorner with coffemashine, microwave, blender and a small fridge made it easy to fix breakfast yourself...(icecubes in the corridor). The nice dinner restaurants […] are a close walk..(5-10 min), but we felt we had to pass a bit suspicious district to reach the main restaurant strip...but I don´t know if we were oversensitive since we had kids with us. You don´t need a car...we valletparket it for the weekend.. Good for independant travelers that don´t need a high service level from the receptiondesk.. the pool and hottub was warm and clean and placed in shadow. Ocean is close... We recommend you to ask for a quiet room away from the street, since there is a nightclub (insomnia) next door, so it´s a noisy neighboorhood at night...but than again it´s south beach.. The hotel is located close to a parkinghouse and a parkinglot and therefor a bit boring surrounding. But since the hotel is nice, clean, and close to the mainareas it definitely good value for money.... ...We would love to stay there again.. Lisez la suite
The hotel promised to have wifi. The WIFI did not work any of the the three nights we stayed. They provided us with an ethernet connection that didn't work either.
"Clean and nice hotel"
The hotel was clean and comfortable. It is also close to the south beach and the art deco district, which are walkable distance. I left my handphone in the room after we have checked out but the staff were very nice about it and returned us the phone when we went back for it. Overall, it is a nice and clean hotel, worth the stay!
"disappointing"
The bathroom had a curtain instead of a door. The toilet room had a door that did not shut all the way. The mattress was worn out - not enough back support. The jacuzzi did not have a shower curtain so that when we showered water splattered on the tile floor. Ongoing work on restaurant space adjoining the hotel. Much noise at 7:30 a.m. A nightclub […] has re-opened next door - and stays open until 4:30 a.m. Much noise and traffic. But it's two blocks off the beach - can't complain about that. Lisez la suite

"Good location."
The room is very functional, it has everything you need and the staff is helpful. The downside is the Wifi. It doesn't work! Cleaning could be better.
"Not Bad!"
For the price paid, the hotel room was pretty nice. Very conveinent to have a small kitchen in the room, the fridge came in very handy. Location is walking distance to beach.
"Clean place to lay your head"
The condition of the facility is declining. However, the room was clean. The skeleton staff is friendly. You are off the beaten path but close to the beach. If you want an clean, safe inexpensive place to crash in South Beach. Mercury South Beach is a reasonable alternative.
"No longer a SOBE gem, but still worth it"
Many years ago, I had to recommend a hotel for someone who was traveling to SB for vacation. I called all of my friends living then on the beach and they said if they want the best little boutique hotel they "have" to stay at the Mercury. I had been a MB resident for many years, although travel with work has taken me to other places around the globe. […] Yes, the Mercury is not what it used to be. If your looking for the Ritz just go north to Lincoln Road. If you don't care about does the hotel have an exclusive restaurant or fitness center, but does give you an amazing suite, where you can come and go as you please and everything is at your reach...Mercury would be for you. It's actually a condo/hotel now. Very laid back as how the beach should always be. The suites are comfortable with kitchen, living room and bedroom with glass doors. Tastefully decorated with spa tub and lots of room and closets. Comfort of a bed to die for!!! The pool/spa was open but I wasn't that interested in engaging during this stay. The staff are very nice, down to earth, helpful and friendly...but respect must be mutual even as we consumers. The price for a full suite was fantastic for the beach. I would recommend this hotel because I actually relaxed there and was able to do or not do if I felt like it. Also being below 5th is another SB experience that most don't get to know. If your really hungry...of course the Big Pink is just adjacent pretty much always open. Good food...large, really large portions of any thing that you order. If you want to get your groove going Amnesia Night club is steps away. I actually like being below 5th Street and walking up to all the wonderful madness of amazing, eclectic SOBE. Residents of SOBe always knew that the real charm of the beach was below 5th....... Lisez la suite
"Always a pleasure"
I have stayed here on several occasions and find it to be one of the best deals in south beach. Its close tot he beach and resturants. Close to the start of 5th st and the core of sobe. The price is always excellent for what you get in the mini suites.
"Little Hotel in South Beach"
I stayed here in August and it was a great hotel. I read some of the other reviews and I would have to say that I disagree with a lot of them. I am pretty sure that this hotel underwent different management within the last year. The hotel itself is nestled in between a nice restaurant and what seems to be a club that is being remodeled. The actual entrance […] is back from the road a little bit which makes it somewhat hard to find if you are unfamiliar with the area. It has a great reception area which feels very "Miami". There is a great little Cuban market a block down from the hotel. If you get hungry, there is a entrance to a pizza shop right near the pool, and if you feeling something else, there is "The Big Pink" restaurant just half a block down the road, which is a pretty good casual restaurant. The google maps of the area is a little bit deceiving because it makes it look like the hotel is three blocks from the ocean, but in reality, the ocean is just right around the corner. There are good restaurants all along Collins, but if you want more of a selection, head on over to Lincoln Road Mall, but I would suggest taking a taxi there, because it can be a long walk. Ocean Drive also has great restaurants not too far from the hotel. My only few complaints of the hotel is the maid service and the hot tub near the pool. The maid service only comes in the morning, and after noon, they won't come at all. If you're up and about in the morning, it won't be a problem. But if you're young, as is most of the vacationers in South Beach, this could be a problem if you miss the maid service a couple days in a row, so just ask the front desk for towels and what not. The hot tub near the pool isn't really hot, but the huge tub in your room makes up for this because if you can turn on the jets. The hotel can smell a bit funky at times, but I think this has to do with all the rain collecting in the roads outside. The surrounding neighborhood isn't really much of a club area, but it Lisez la suite

"Disappointment...to be expected I suppose"
My friends and I were coming to Miami for our 10 year highschool reunion. When we saw the add for the Mercruy, we thought the deal was too good to be true. Well, it was. After our experience there, the only redeeming quality is the location. It seems as though the owners neglect to clean their units because the location should over compensate for filth. […] We had a deluxe suite. Stains on the carpet, stains on the bed, black hair all over the floor in and around the bathroom and frozen black hairs in the freezer of the mini fridge. To be frank, I did not want to sit down anywhere. I had to wear slippers, socks and covered my body because I did not want contract come type of virus or skin disease. My disappointment was only furthers when I set some bananas and water on the counter when a cockroach crawled across the counter top. We could not wait to vacate the premises. We only there for two days, but it is the worst when all you want to do is come back to your hotel room and relax and you can't because of filth. It was dark and dismal in the room and the onsite pool was not any better. Not only are we paying for the location, but the hotel does not even have the decency to allow parking for their gusts. My friend parked his car across the street in the $35 a day parking lot, but had to move it in the morning by 6am. When he went into the hotel to seek guidance on where to move his car, he came back out to find a parking ticket on the windshield. What kind of sketchy operation is this??? I will not be returning to the Mercury, I will not be recommending the Mercury and I will try to deter any of my friends visiting Miami Beach from going there. Room 119 ruined it for us...never again. Lisez la suite
"Great location but a little scary inside"
The location of this hotel worked well for us - off the main drag Ocean Drive, close to South Pointe Park, close to the ocean, close to restaurants and delicious cafe con leche from the local bodega. But the lobby smells like a gas leak and the room is sketchy to say the least. Our first room badly needed a paint job and a new couch. The couch looked […] like it seen better days in the late 80s. The bathroom was clean, but because it was so dingy, it felt dirty. Various light fixtures were out, remote's batteries died, and the phone did not work. We requested a new room for our second night as we were right above the club. We heard bass until 5am, then construction started at 7am. Stay away from the south side 2nd floor! Staff gave us a new room on the third floor (which we highly recommend) which was nicely painted, had a newer (but still sketchy) couch, and a larger kitchen. But then we looked up at the ceiling and it was a hot mess with stains and a board placed up there with nails covering something up. I know that at this price point we shouldn't expect luxury. But I also shouldn't feel grossed out by sitting on the couch, or wondering what I will find when I turn back the duvet on the bed. Management can easily fix these things, but it is clear they don't want to spend the money. Staff had the usual SoBe attitude - no one trips over themselves to help you. Some weird characters milling about - one lady always walked around in her pajama bottoms and slippers, and I saw a lady of the evening leaving the lobby at 8am one morning. If you do stay here: have a meal at Big Pink's across the street - great food at good prices. Head to the bodega up the block for a quick cuban snack and coffee, and Puerto Sangua for the absolute best late night cuban food. You can park on the street right in front or close by if you pay at the meter (up to 10 hrs at a time at 1.50/hr). Lisez la suite
"extra charge they tried to get"
in general the hotel was very good and worth the money, however they tried to charge an extra 70 dollars while checking out for some towel charges and other stuff they tried to convince me i had to pay for. i did not pay this out of principal as it felt like extorsion and the hotel should make all payments clear at time of booking . due to this i would […] not recommend this hotel as there are plenty of others available in the area Lisez la suite
"great location"
The location, the room, and the employees were great. My only complaint is that it was like pulling teeth to get extra towels!! Overall our stay there was great!
"walking distance to beach, shopping and eateries"
I reserved the deluxe suite but when I arrived I was given a junior suite and had to wait until the next morning to be placed in correct room. The hotel needs a little updating in the rooms. Our bathroom had not been cleaned before we checked in, there were dead ants in the tub. The hotel kept running out of beach towels which seems strange since they […] charge $10 a day for amenities such as beach towels. We had to keep requesting additional towels for our room, only one set of towels were replaced in the bathrooms each day when there were 3 people staying. If looking for a hotel that is convenient to the beach, shopping and restaurants, then this hotel will satisfy but if looking for a relaxing luxury feel, then find another hotel. Lisez la suite

"Lots of Potential but currently, not so much"
Reserved the hotel because of location. "Avoid The Mercury Hotel in SoBe"
We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. It looks great in the pics, but: 1) The lobby smells of bug spray 24/7 2) All the internal doors in the room were off their hinges: the closet doors and the sliding doors in the bathroom. One of them wouldn't move at all. 3) The curtain separating the bathroom from the bedroom was only attached by two clips […] (forget about privacy!) 4) Our "Suite" had a glass wall with curtains between the bedroom and the living room. Again, no privacy. 5) The cereal bowls were sooo tiny! 6) The fan in the bathroom didn't work. 7) The right side "table" in the bedroom was missing. On a side note, the location of this hotel is very inconvenient because everything is north of 5th ave. But we knew that already. Lisez la suite
Well when we got to the hotel evrything was fine. But as soon as we got to the room it was nasty and dirty. The sofa that was in that room look like it came from dump and it was just place inside the room. Then we was move into 2nd room and that was no better than the first room. The hoes to the tub/shower was broke and toaster was dirty and the remote […] was not working to the tv and patch in the ceiling. The front then was going to move us into the 3rd room and that was a mess also, the sofa was mess again and place the door was hanging off. So I decided to stay in the room that I was already in and front desk told me it is not any other room. So I call hotels. com and told them what is going and I was credit back 50.00. The next day I went down stair to look for the manager and repair guy. The girl at the front desk told me that he dont come into 9am. So as me and the girl standing there manager and repair guy came walking in the door but she was still me he dont come in until 9am. So I left the hotel for a few hours and when I return nothing was done the room was not clean and tub was not fix. So when I went back down stairs, the same 2 people that came in earlier was the manager and repair guy. It's not worth staying in this hotel even though the prices are quite reasonable. Hardly any staff, we waited for about 30min near the reception before somebody turned up to check us in. Elevator did not work, foul smell coming in from the corridors, water leaking from the bathroom pipe, lot of noise in the night and A/C would either be tooo cold or […] tooo hot irrespective of the temp you set. "Great Value"
Mercury South beach is a above average property nothing extremely fancy. Great value for the price you will pay. It's a chill spot from everything else going on in south beach. It's a club next door but it's not to noisy at all. I stayed in the executive suite which was a pretty nice size suite for two people. The staff keep the hotel fairly clean and […] they were friendly. Mercury also has a nice size pool. The Mercury is in a perfect location to every going on in south beach. It's literally 4-5 short blocks from the main attractions on south beach. Big pinks across the street will feed you great food everyday at great prices per meal. I would recommend and stay here again if the value stays the same . So if you are trying to save a little money for the drinks and clubs but also stay at a descent hotel mercury is the place for you. The window in the bedroom did not have a good fit when closing so we could hear street noise and activity from the restaurant. The whirlpool tub was large, but the jets did not work. There […] is no ticket kiosk in the lobby to check in to the airline 24 hours before your flight. It took about 10 minutes to reach the front desk for a wakeup call but they were courteous, and we did get the wakeup call which was more important than how long it took to set it up. Over all, we felt the hotel provided what we were looking for and would stay again. We enjoyed the area and would stay again. The pool looked clean and others were using it. Lisez la suite
"Quality room for a great price, extremely comfortable beds!"
Unexpectedly clean for the price, rooms are well equipped (microwave, refridgerator, dishes) and they have a nice swimming pool. There's not much of a TV, but who needs a TV in South Beach! Very good restaurants close by and a short walk to the ocean. Only down side is the lobby smelled kind of funny and there's no door on the shower (but it was a jacuzzi […] tub) I would definetly return for another stay. Lisez la suite
