D'après les photos, on s'attendait vraiment à un hôtel sympa. Moralité, les chambres sont assez moches (la déco fait carton pâte) et sales. Le ménage n'est pas fait tous les jours dans les chambre. Notre climatisation ne marchait pas, j'ai dû le signaler 3 fois à l'accueil avant que ce soit réparer. Le bar est plutôt bruyant au RDC, même s'il n'y a […] personne, ils mettent la musique à fond. The hotel was clean. That is always my first and main requirement. Per the other reviews, it was very loud, but you are literally in the middle of south beach night life so it is too be expected. "Not a place I would recommend"
I've stayed at the white law hotel years ago and never experienced this type of problem. The toilet would constantly clog or just run all through the night. The sheets were dirty upon arrival. They never had clean towels and wash cloths to provide the guest. There was always a minimum amount of towels and wash cloths you could get. (Never heard of that […] before) and the food wasn't that great. I was disappointed in the hotel and they didn't do anything but say there manager wasnt here to compensate for the problems. Housekeepers were lazy I wish I had taken pictures of how they cleaned my room. all in all there are other great options near south beach. My first impression of the hotel is that the pictures included on hotels.com are accurate, but the pictures were taken at the best angle. I expected a really stylish and chic hotel, but it was just okay. The hotel staff was very nice and professional. When we got there (we were early), they held our luggage and asked us to return at 2:30PM. When we […] returned, our room was ready. We requested a room with double beds and got it. The room is small, and the bathroom doesn't have any towel racks. The shower glass is clear, so don't expect to have someone in the bathroom getting dressed while you're showering (unless you're comfortable with it). We were on the first floor, and the flooring seemed to be shaky and the carpet was pulled up (on the edges). We had to request a room change, but the ceiling is the bathroom was leaking. The room we were moved to had the same problem. We also has problems daily with the toilets getting stopped up. The hotel location is great...A block away from the beach and Ocean Drive. Hotel has free happy hour from 7:00PM to 8:00PM, but the drink selection is limited. At night, the hotel has music playing loudly. It didn't bother us though. We had a great time. We stayed here for our first marriage anniversary for 4 days. This review is from the perspective of 'what South Beach has to offer': Pros: Very helpful folks at the front desk. Great location with tons of restaurants, shops and bars around. Just 1 block from ocean drive. Our room was sized appropriately for 2 people and faced the street. Free drinks […] from 7-8pm. Better nightly room rate compared to nearby hotels. Although this hotel provides complementary wi-fi service only in the lobby, but since our room was directly above the lobby, we were able to catch wi-fi just fine :) Cons: Music at the bar downstairs was too loud at nights. "Poor reception attitude"
The room was fine. It's an older hotel that's been updated. It's a little small, but let's face it, if your going to south beach Miam, your not really going there for the hotel room. But being on south beach the hotel is a little pricey. Upon arrival, receptionist asked a few times " are you sure you have a reservation at this hotel?" I consider myself […] to be a clean-cut, upper-middle class person, I may not be a celebrity or anything, but then I doubt very much that a celebrity would ever stay at this hotel. Then upon check out, reception told me that they were going to charge me for a distinction of a towel. I said "WHAT?" I used one towel to dry myself off after a shower, if it got little damp that's the whole purpose of the towel. He tells me "you guys got makeup or something on a towel." I look around and ask him, how many of me do you see? I'm only one single guy and I don't know about the guys in Miami, but in Canada, guys don't wear makeup. Felt very discussed with reception and walked out. Needless to say, I won't ever stay there again. Stay away from this place. Better hotels in the area for same price. This definitely IS a hotel for the party jet set. Seems to have two elements of management. The bar area which seems to be run by a group of four or five and really amazing bartenders; one of the male servers w/ the scruffy face is a bit pretentious, but the bar manager and all the females there were amazing. I mention it as its an integral part of […] the hotel since the tiny front desk is right next to the bar. The bar seems to be the entire hotel really. Its the epicenter of it all. They have tiny happy hour w/ free drinks from 7-8, tiny tiny cups with bar vodka, whatever, its free right. The other is hotel arena, which is pretty basic for boutique hotels The noise goes all night, all morning. Wake at 3:45 am, the music is still going strong in the lobby. Its not a hotel to come to relax at; its a party hotel, and they pride themselves on it. The room was kind of a standard Motel 6 type double room, but the mini bar is nice, at 7 dollars a nip. The South Beach hotel group HOLDS 100.00 on your card, so be cautious. Took six days to come off using a debit. Kind of crazy. The Ritz and Waldforf Astoria don't even hold that much. In fact I have been all over the world, you rarely see that any longer. They wouldn't accept a cash deposit, and I travel a lot so that is helpful when they do. However all in all, there is nothing to complain about. The staff is great, front desk pleasant, restaurant and bartenders amazing, personable and in the heart of everything. It's a good stay. The funds are released back onto your account as soon as you check out. Depending on your financial provider, it can take them longer to release the funds to your card. The decor is really cute. I have stayed here twice. You can't beat the price. Cute patio out front, I ate there one morning, the food was decent. The air in the rooms seemed a little humid but maybe that's just Miami hotels. Your shower is going to leak out onto your bathroom floor FYI. Sometimes I wished I had more towels. The music plays very loudly until 2:30 am so it is def a party hotel. This is not acceptable as we do have guests that would love to get a quiet nights rest. I see that you found our lobby to be run down and that the service from the waitresses were not satisfactory! I am going to personally talk with the manager of the bar as each and every guest should be provided with outstanding service! Our location is prime and we are glad that you were content with that. We are very central, within walking distance to all the hot spots on South Beach! We are indeed a boutique hotel therefore our rooms are a bit smaller then your average hotel room. Very much aimed at a younger crowd, and that's not necessarily bad. The room was garish --- outlandish plush padding on the walls, a chandelier above one of the beds. The Whitelaw Hotel was walking distance from everything - it was a great choice from my boyfriend and I who are 20somethings who were in Miami looking for both relaxation & partying. Upon arrival, we had to wait until 3pm to check in-BUT the hotel did offer to hold our bags until that time so we could get something to eat in the meantime. The hotel […] offers free happy hour from 7-8pm every day, which was awesome for a pre-game. Beach towels were available....sometimes. We were on the 2nd floor overlooking Collins Ave. The hotel lobby has music playing constantly which was definitely fun. We did not have any trouble with hearing it from inside our room, which was super quiet although it was directly over the lobby. :) Rooms were cleaned every day, but not until like 4:30PM, which I thought was odd. Especially since we left our hotel room every day by about 10am, and left the "please clean me now" sign on our door handle. Whitelaw is about a 5 minute or less walk to the beach, which was perfect for us! Also, the shuttle transportation to and from the airport was perfect, saved us a bunch of $$ and it was completely reliable and on time - about a 20 minute ride in either direction. I reserved a room with 2 full beds from hotels.com, but apparently that wasn't guaranteed so when we checked in we got one king bed. I complained but the front desk said they didn't have any other rooms to give us so we would have to move the next day. We sucked it up and said ok since we were just planning on using the room to sleep in anyway. We moved […] the next day, but the new room wasn't really that much better. The bathrooms were tiny, and it was hard to use the shower without spilling a lot of water on the bathroom floor. Also, the very cool looking sinks were annoying to actually use and very low. There was very little counter space for our toiletries and no drawers to unpack our stuff so we had to live out of our suitcases. If u don't like noise, please request for a room at the back at 2nd or 3rd level. My first 2 nights were at ground level and the music at bar (which is just at the lobby) is way too noisy till late. I couldn't sleep most time. Later on I requested for change to a quiet room, then I was given a room at the back on 3rd floor. At least I got some good […] sleep thereafter. Location is good. Beach is just 5 mins away. Shopping area is just on the same street too. Food is everywhere. Hotel provides free drinks at the bar from 7-8pm daily, free wifi and airport shuttle.
