"Great boutique style hotel"
Small room and bed but that is standard for NYC. Very stylish, clean and quiet. Great location - lots of restaurants, bars, stores et. All within walking distance. Nice little coffee bar in the foyer was handy for a cuppa and pastry in the mornings. Only negative is the high price.Avis certifié Hotels.com
This was a good deal for the price, great location, room comfortable, usual street noise for NYC.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice and not costly."
Very nice place to stay, after staying in a dump for just a little less. Had to go to the American Museum of Natural History, it was about a 10 minute walk.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Friendly staff, great location, clean rooms, would come back again.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Great Hotel near Beacon Theater"
We stayed here because if the close proximity to the Beacon Theater. The hotel is 2 blocks away so it worked out great. The staff is friendly and helpful. Mu only complaint - the rooms are very small and lack any furniture other than the bed.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Room 508. Friendly staff. Excellent room, great view, comfortable bed, chair, desk. Great TV. Terrible internet access in room--had to go to the lobby to receive and send e-mail. Shower leaked excessively onto floor with shower door closed.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Location is the best thing"
Very small room. Sound proofing needs work - we heard our neighbors debating what to eat, what to watch on tv. Every knock on their door sounds like a knock on yours. Location on is great. Close to the subway, attractions, restaurants. Nice neighborhood.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Room too small but good hotel"
This is a nice hotel in a good area. For business travel the room was too small. I had to move variouse things off the table to set up my laptop and then climb over the mini fridge to sit down. If I am in the area again I would stay here, just book a larger room.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Nice hotel, nice location"
Great Hotel; room ratings a little off - junior got downgraded to standard because of some problem, and his standard was better than our luxury queen - something to do with the wonkiness of the building I think (its an old building with few square rooms); market and French patisserie round the corner on Broadway are excellent; if you're doing the Empire […] State make sure to get an open anytime Golden ticket with your online order - saved us hours Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Will stay at Hotel Belleclaire again!"
First time staying at this hotel. The people were all friendly, the room was very clean and the bed was great. No tub in bathroom which was fine with me, a clean walk-in shower was way better than climbing in and out of a shower/tub combo. The hotel was quiet, but was very full. The breakfast in the lobby was up and running early so you could eat and […] drink something before leaving for morning flight out. Close to subway, the Park and was in a safe area of the Upper West Side. We walked 20 blocks from the theatre one night and felt safe. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Good location, older hotel, great staff"
I was going to the Beacon theatre and this was a convenient location. Hotel is older with minimal amenities. The staff is very nice and helpful. Room was clean and bed was comfortable but dark as the one window was between two buildings. Ok for a short trip.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Best place ever"
I love this place! It's close to Central Park, shops, restaurants, anything you need! Even got my favorite boots repaired down the street. Can't beat it... Upper West Side is by far one of my favorite neighborhoods. This location is also 2 blocks from the subway.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"My NYC Spot"
I have stayed at the Hotel Belleclaire at least 12 times in the last decade. It's a great spot, in a great neighborhood, close to the subway and filled with a friendly staff. My stay this time was as wonderful as usual but it did include a roach in the bathroom and some flies as well. This is a first experience seeing any bugs in the hotel (5th floor) […] and I expect it will be the last. I will be back to the HB in the summer with some friends and my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary...hopefully no bugs then. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Great upper west side location"
Very professional and helpful staff. Wonderful location close to Subway and upper West side, near natural history Museum and Central Park. Great local food.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Very enjoyable stay."
Enjoyed your hotel a lot--helpful staff, usable lobby, nice amenities . We'd return.Avis certifié Hotels.com
The hotel has narrow stairs, small rooms but is clean, good service and great location. Complaint - I asked bellman for cab to airport. Bellman- our car service is $75 tips taxes told included. Me-compared to cab? Bellman-$6-$7. Me -$75? Bellman- yes, taxes tip, tolls included. I said okay. I asked driver if he takes credit? Yes. When we got to the airport […] after having to stop for has and going the longest route through neighborhoods instead of freeway, the driver says that will be $82. What happened to $75 all included? Driver - only if you use cash. I was pretty angry but had no recourse. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
Nice staff, nice lobby. Beds are comfortable but rooms need an upgrade to central air. Wall units were loud and we could hear noise from the street. Also the bathroom has no exhaust fan. Great location.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Hotel Belleclaire September 2014"
The Hotel Belleclaire is done in a very European style. It has the feel of a very traditional established hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and made some excellent recommendations on restaurants. They also assisted with ground transportation. The location in the upper west side was perfect. An easy walk to Central Park and the Museums on the east […] side. The breakfast bar, while not included in the arrangement was good for coffee and pastries and again the staff was very friendly and help. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to our friends. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Great Neighborhood. Hotel just Ok"
Great location, close to everything in the upper west side. Make sure you get at least a deluxe Queen size room, the full size rooms are tiny and need remodeling! No complementary coffee in room or downstairs. Slow elevators.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"One Night Stay"
I stay in NY 4-5 days a month for work, and needed a clean, safe, conveniently located hotel. Belleclaire was perfect! Room was adorable and the bed was the coziest twin I've ever slept in! Also, they were able to accommodate my early check-in, which was nice, since I checked out 8 hrs later!Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Charm, comfort, and hospitality"
The hotel was just two blocks from Central Park West, which was great for our purposes - wedding in the park. It was also two blocks from the nearest subway station which was very convenient. The hotel is historic is appearance, but it is fully updated/modernized and has all the amenities you could need. The accomodations, hallways, and elevators are […] a little small, but not tiny. The staff was so very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is a nice change of pace from frenetic midtown - it still has all the things you like about New York except a zillion people milling around 24 hrs a day. There is a fire station one block away, so you will hear sirens from time to time (but you know you're safe). Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
Overall it was a good place to stay. There are things they could improve on, maintenance and housekeeping are the area that stand out for us. Not that the rooms were dirty there were things that are miss so could just be better. Bathrooms need a exhaust fan. Room becomes very steamy.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Close to everything."
Lobby personnel were polite and helpful. Room was clean but the air-conditioner was noisy. Location is good, close to Central Park and Broadway.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Great little boutique hotel. Clean, comfortable, modern enough. Not a 5-star but perfectly adequate. Staff was excellent.Avis certifié Hotels.com
ONLY CRITICISM , I HAVE STAYED THERE MANY TIMES AND HAVE FURTHER BOOKINGS , BUT ON ARRIVAL ONE NEVER SEEMS TO GET THE ROOM ONE HAS BOOKED. THE STANDARD ROOMS ARE VERY SMALL AND I ALWAY BOOK A DELUXE BUT STILL THEY TRY TO PUT ME IN A STANDARD ROOM AFETR FLYING ACROSS THE WORLD , THIS IS REALY ANNOYING. THEY DO ALWAYSRECTFY THE SITUATION BUT HOPEFULLY […] NEXT TIME IT WILL JUST BE AS BOOKED. STAFF ALL FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL . FREE TEA AND WATER IN FOYA GREAT IDEA , NEARBY DELI'S OPEN LATE ALL SELL TAKE AWAY QUALITY FOODS . EASY TO GET AROUND , SUBWAY OR CAB AND OF COURSE WALKING THROUGH CETRAL PARK TO THE UPPER EAST SIDE A MUST. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
Belleclair was a small but well-maintained hotel for anyone who's looking for a quite but lively accomodation. The room was clean and cozy. Lobby and hallways were pretty. I strongly recommend this hotel and i would definitely come back next year.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"An Upper West Side Alternative"
My 2nd stay at the Belleclaire did not disappoint. Location is great, as is the service. The recommendation of a restaurant for lunch by Concierge Mr. Rios was perfect (and included a surprise dessert compliments of the hotel). This is a former apartment building that was turned into a hotel; some things are old (window a/c's), but the amenities and […] friendly staff more than make up for that. Free computer use, gym, daily newspapers, fridge in room, use of microwave off lobby; convenient lobby a.m. Cafe. Will definitely stay here again! Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

"Fabulous location, comfort, and friendly staff"
Beautiful building just 2 blocks from the 1 line, great market around the corner, 24 hr CVS kitty corner, nice and quiet, but lots of great restaurants/stores nearby and Viand cafe delivers for room service. We loved it!Avis certifié Expedia
"Nice hotel, great location and smells good!"
Very comfortable bed after a long day of site seeing NYC! Coffee cafe in lobby is convenient and reasonable. We would definitely stay there again! Great hospitality from the staff.Avis certifié Expedia

"Nice hotel in the best part of town"
We (couple mid-late fifties) chose the Belleclaire based on good prices and reviews. It's location, Broadway and 77th Make it the perfect location. You can walk to Central Park, and some major attractions including the Guggenheim and the natural history museum. Subway station is only two blocks away and makes access to downtown simple and quick. Our […] room on the fourth floor was very comfortable, everything worked and, apart from no tea making facility, was perfect. Service was discrete and efficient. Staff were attentive and pleasant. James, the concierge, sorted out our tickets for Motown without a fuss. The airport transfer was, like everything, reliable and efficient. Yes, we would recommend this area for a relaxing stay in New York and definitely recommend the Belleclaire. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Clean, convenient and terrific staff!"
Great value for the price. And, after a mixup at registration, the manager was very gracious and instantly remedied my concern. Actually left my glasses, mouse and mousepad and the staff had it waiting in a FedEx box for pickup and delivery to my home. A terrific experience, and I'm a native New Yorker!Avis certifié Expedia
The room was great. We were upgraded to a family suite which was fabulous. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.Avis certifié Expedia
Me and my mom stayed at this hotel for 7 days! Service was pretty awesome; hotel staff is very friendly and helpful! Hotel amenities had a media lounge with computers which was handy when we had to print off some tickets! The arcade games did not work though (when I tried them at least). The room was very clean and the bed comfy! However, we had a pretty […] crappy view (of a back alley) from the 6th floor. Also, you can't open the windows in the room which forces you to use the air conditioning which is fairly loud and can make the room a little too cold sometimes. The location of the hotel was awesome! You have 2-3 cafés in a 20 meter radius and 2 grocery stores as well (1 of them is open 24 hours), plus a CVS (24h pharmacy/short stop) across the street. You're also a few minutes away from the 1,2,3 lines which take you north and south in manhattan to basically any place you'd want to be. Overall, definitely enjoyed our stay and even if the price is a bit high but location and amenities definitely make up for it! Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
We thought the staff were very helpful, particularly the Concierge! It's a nice boutique hotel in a terrific location. The only sour point was the limo drive arranged to the airport the night before departure we were told by the evening Concierge (not the day person) it would be $85 including gratuity, only to be told by the driver at Newark it would […] be $95, plus gratuity...we reluctantly agreed on $95 all up! "Hotel with Character"
I thought this was a really nice hotel. The staff was friendly. Very pretty and vintage lobby. Not sure when it was built, but had an old fashion feel with modern amenities. The room was small (but aren't they all in NYC?) with enough space for 2 people to be comfortable. Clean bathroom with a nice shower. No funny smells like some hotels have and a […] nice comfortable bed. I would definitely go back. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"2nd Time Here"
I really enjoyed my second trip here. I love the location, ease of access, staff and the building/rooms themselves. The room was very clean and reasonably priced. It is a short walk to Central Park or the National History Museum, and the walk to TImes Square and the Theater District isn't terribly long either. I'd recommend this hotel to a friend or […] family member. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"If you're after a very ggod hotel with great price"
Stayed for 6 nights during the beginning of August. We asked for a hudson River facing room and we got it for a small extra. The room is very clean and quiet. The hotel receptionists are very patient and nice. There are Two subway stations in the area and it usually doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes to get to Times Square. It's also a walking distance […] to Central Park. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

hotel needs renovation !! and cleaning personal who can clean.Avis certifié Expedia
Hotel Belleclaire is situated in a great location. Near a subway stop on Broadway and 77th and within walking distance of the Park and The American Natural History Museum. Lots of great eating establishments around as well and a market if you want to supply your own snacks and treats. I do a lot of walking and if you don't mind, just walk south on Broadway […] to get to Times Square. Other great places may need a subway. The rooms are as pictured on the website and there is free internet in the rooms. It's reasonably quiet as well. Staff is welcoming and friendly. All in all, a great price for the location, but I did use Expedia which was a cheaper price than the hotel website. I paid under a grand for a 6 night stay which, I think, is reasonable for NYC on upper west side. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Great Hotel for our stay"
The hotel was away from the craziness of mid-town but close enough to easily get there by train. The surrounding area had plenty of shopping, restaurants and close to central park. Although the rooms are small as most are in NY, it was well maintained and comfortable. The bathroom can use some updating but overall the hotel was very good.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Not spacious room - maintenance needed"
I've booked this hotel online. The photos looked great but when I checked in the hotel, it didn't look like the advertising pictures. The double room is very small and very old. My bath really needed some maintamce. The bath tap was broken while I was having a shower. I called the reception and they did send a handyman to come to my room to fix it. […] The room was very old and not very clean. I was very disappointed about this hotel. I stayed there for 7 days and I just used the room to sleep at night and I tried not to stay there during the day. I wouldn't recommend to my family or friends at all. The prices are not cheap and it's not worth it to stay at this hotel. And I don't think it should be rated as 4 x stars hotel. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

Well located for what we had to do. Everything was fine except the cost of the valet with the parking(over 50 box a night!), too much!Avis certifié Expedia

"upper west side gem"
Our room was a suite--really spacious, up-to-date finishes, and spotless--with a nice view up Broadway to boot. Don't know how well the standard rooms rate.Avis certifié Hotels.com
We stayed here while visiting Columbia U. The location is just a few subway stops from Columbia and sites we wanted to see further south. The rooms were very nice. In lieu of the $50 daily garage fee I paid them $25 and they parked my car on the street for me, and I could even have done that myself. Great bakery around corner from lobby entrance, and […] next to it a great little grocery store with large deli prepared food section made it easy to get food to save some money. Hotel Belleclaire was the perfect contrast to staying in Times Square. It's a great neighborhood for walking, restaurants, markets, and window shopping. Staff was very accommodating--and we were able to check in about 9:30am. Room was lovely, although a little small -- however, certainly not the smallest by NY standards. Breakfast bar in lobby.
