"Bel hôtel sans prétention"
Bon service, sourires et souci de bien nous aider de la part des gens qui y travaillent. La chambre était juste assez spacieuse et confortable. Bon rapport qualité-prix, j'y retournerai sans hésiter !Avis certifié Hotels.com
Très bonne hôtel si on considère sa localisation dans New-York et son côté qualité, propreté et prix.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Hidden gem on the Upper West Side"
The hotel was in our old neighborhood, so very convenient for us. Clean, nice staff, refurbished. My only complaint was the room was very small (fine for an overnight but not great for more than that) and the bathroom, while well appointed was tiny.Avis certifié Hotels.com
Switched my room with my daughter, son n law and grand son,. they were not comfortable given the small space and queen size bed. Son n Law had requested room with a king size bed... anyway , the a/c was noisy in the room and the cost of the snacks in room were scandalous.... $10.00 bottle of water.... wickedAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Good location & good facilities"
WE stayed 5 nights at Hotel Belleclaire for the money paid the room was of a reasonable standard and not too small. There was a media room that you could print out emails and access a computer, this was helpful. Staff were approachable and helpful. The bathroom however was very small and had no real storage area, this could be improved. a cofee machine […] or kettle would have been nice. The surrounding area was very nice with a good fruit and vegetable market along with just about everything sold in the shop. A new French patisserie and good deli also. 3 minutes walk to subway. Would stay there again. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"They don't tell you everything"
I have almost nothing bad to say about the Hotell Belleclaire. The hotel is nice, clean, good location. The rooms are small but mostly well appointed, though I didn't love the window AC unit nor the chemical smell in the bathrooms. Here's what got me though, I make sure where ever I stay has free wifi, and they do ... kinda. Turns out you get free wifi […] access to a limited internet, and if you want regular internet access you have to pay. Not happy about that. If I'd known ahead of time I probably would have looked for a different hotel. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

"Great hotel for the price."
The hotel was great. The service was wonderful. The room was very small, but very nice. For the price, the hotel would be hard to beat. Five star service but only paying for a 3 star hotel.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Fantastic Upper West Side Hotel"
Rooms are great. Get a city view room. The I ones in the back are dark. Service is friendly and helpful. Super convenient location. Close to subway. Great cafés and restaurants surrounding. Walking distance to Central Park and Riverside Park.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Great Location, Comfy Beds"
We were over for a family wedding and found our stay great, The room was very Spacious and Clean. The staff very friendly. When we go back to New York, we will be staying at this hotel. I would recommend this hotelAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Small, okay rooms in a GREAT LOCATION"
The rooms are small. We stayed in a suite which was about the size of a $80 a night doble or single room anywhere else. However, the staff were nice and the neighborhood around the hotel was fantastic. Only three blocks from the natural history museum & cental park, and about 7 blocks from the Dakota/Strawberry Fields. A few blocks from the subway line […] as well. "Love the location!"
Very nice and helpful staff. Rooms small but clean. Loved the location, love the upper west side and central park so the hotel was perfect for that fact. Rates were lowest around the area. Neighborhoods were great for parking.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"good location but"
I was not happy with room 128 dark,my view was of a wall on which work was being done I think a room like this should be cheaper I miss having a coffee makerAvis certifié Hotels.com
My family and I enjoyed a lovely stay in Hotel Belleclaire. The position is absolutely wonderful - near Central Park , fantastic Fairways , Metropolitian Opera and Lincoln Center and Juilliard. Our room was small but adequate but the bathroom needed a very thorough clean of the tiles on the walls and floor. The staff were all very friendly and helpful! […] We had a lovely time!! We stayed at the Belleclaire for 5 nights. The room was quite dark during the day. The window etc.was very old. The A.C was old and noisy/ The bathroom could have more shelf space and hooks to hang up things. There were none...In short, the room was clean but could be improved and so could the bed and the pillows for the price we paid.. On the other […] hand, the location is excellent and the staff that we came into contact with were very pleasant and helpful especially the men at the concierge who were exceptional. The media room was very useful and modern. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
It was perfect. At first we thought maybe the hotel was not conveniently located, but this was not the case. It was close to the 1 Train, minutes from mid-town. And about a mile walk, which was very nice since we had lovely weather. Two thumbs up!Avis certifié Hotels.com

"What you see is what you get"
Room was very small, and there were no "extras" - no free coffee or tea, etc. But it was a clean room in the neighborhood I wanted to be in. Staff was able to keep my suitcase from when I got there till it was time to check in. They pre-charged my entire stay plus $100 -- (in case I trashed the room, I guess) -- no other hotel has ever done that. But […] they corrected it when we left, so no problem. "overpriced and aweful"
advertised as 3.5 stars and charged 450 a night. I have stayed at many hotels in nyc and this was by far the worst value. had to change rooms twice upon arrival due to dirty bathrooms and dysfunctining ac units. friendly and helpful staff, but this place should be way cheaper for what you get. tiny, dingy rooms.Avis certifié Hotels.com
"Hotel close to restaurants and Central Park"
The hotel is very easy to get to if you are arriving in New York from New Jersey and the Geo Washington Bridge, via the Hudson River Parkway. The staff at the Hotel Belleclaire were were very courteous and helpful. The cleanliness was average. The hotel is a handsome older property built between 1900 and 1910. After the first night in a handicap room […] which was less than convenient for several reasons, we requested a move to another room, when we discovered a cockroach scurrying around the bathroom. The staff at the front desk apologized and immediately arranged to move us. The new room was quite acceptable. The valet parking was handy. The concierge was helpful and polite. The rooms and furniture in our rooms need a touch up with paint and/or touch-up stain and varnish. The bed and bath linens were plentiful and nicely done. The hotel is very handy to Central Park, two blocks to restaurants, subways are close, with lots of taxis. Lobby is tidy and has a nice coffee bar and free newspapers. "Good location on UWS"
We stayed at the Belleclaire for 7 nights, and particularly appreciated the location close to subways, parks, shops and restaurants. The improvements that would be welcome are coffee machine in room and updated plumbing - the shower was old and not very powerful, and the plumbing from surrounding rooms was very noisy at times. "Studio Apartment Style Hotel"
I felt like I was in a well cared for studio apartment minus the clutter. Small bathroom, wood floors, and a window AC reinforced the image. Very home like and a welcome retreat from the standard hotel. Tea service in the afternoon, a very clean moderate gym, and a stylish lobby. Just one express stop away from Times Square, but a different world.Avis certifié Expedia
"A nice hotel with character!"
This was my first trip to New York and I was so pleased with our hotel. It's recently been redone, but still has the charm that I was hoping to experience. We had a deluxe queen room and although it was smaller, it was super cozy and had everything that we needed. The radiator heat can be adjusted in your room and one night when we accidentally left […] it on too high, we raised the window and slept. Our room was on the third floor and the corner of Broadway and the street noise didn't bother us at all. The staff was always helpful in finding local places to eat, catching a cab and anything else that we needed. It's close to the subway, Fairway market is right down the street (there's a fridge in the room,) 24 hour pizza slices are one block up and it's a short walk to Central Park and the Museum of Natural History. I had lived on the Upper West Side for several years and when we decided to visit NYC for the weekend I was looking for a clean hotel in that neighborhood. I knew also that I would likely find FREE street parking for my SUV in that neighborhood. Hotel Belleclaire was perfect: friendly and helpful staff, very clean corner room with minimal noise, conveniently […] located just off Broadway with all kinda of eateries and shopping. Friday night we found parking right on 77th and left my car there until we departed Sunday afternoon. We were happy with this hotel and will most certainly return. The location is what attracted us to this hotel initially, but the friendliness and cleanliness sealed the deal. Nice work, Hotel Belleclaire. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"great location and great service"
My wife and I stayed stayed five nights in Aprl 2014 and thorough enjoyed our stay. Our room was much larger than expecting after reading some of the reviews here. The bathroom was small, but newly renovated. The service staff was helpful, polite, and friendly. And the Upper West Side is a fantastic place to stay if you want to stay away from the crowds […] of Times Square and Midtown, not to mention there are fantastic restaurants and cafes everywhere. The 72nd and 79th St. subway stations are also super convenient, as is Central Park. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to NYC. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com

"Excellent hotel in a good location"
Had a fantastic stay at Hotel Belleclaire. We'd had delay trouble with our flights into NY and our luggage did not arrive with us. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, giving us advice, contacting the airline and taking delivery of the luggage when it finally turned up. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable in a great location. Close […] enough to the action but in a quieter spot, and the subway is just up the road to be able to get anywhere further afield. We've been to NY for times and this has been the best hotel so far. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"Feels like you're staying in Paris"
Staff was amazing and extremely helpful. Loved the vibe of the hotel and I would definitely recommend it to friends!Avis certifié Hotels.com
The Hotel Belleclaire was a pleasant surprise considering the incredibly low rate I got for my overnight stay. While the room was relatively small, it was comfortable and clean. I especially liked the fact that the floor was wood, not carpet. The bed was a full size, so if I had been traveling with my husband it might have felt a little cramped, but […] as a single traveler the room was a perfect size. Be aware that if you are staying for an extended time, there was no dresser to put clothes in, only a small closet. The upper west side neighborhood is a good location, close enough to walk to Lincoln Center and only two blocks away from the subway. My only complaint about the room was the temperature. It was unbearably hot, with no way to open the window or control the thermostat. For the price, I would definitely stay here again. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
"Very pleasant stay at this hotel"
I recently spent six days in New York with my two teenage daughters. The Belleclaire Hotel is a very pleasant hotel in uptown Manhattan. The hotel was clean with very good facilities, the room was perhaps a bit on the small side and unfortunately ours was very noisy as the window would not shut properly, but it was not enough to disturb sleep. The room […] however was clean and all facilities were perfectly adequate for our needs. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and polite. Unfortunately the media suite was not working during our stay as it was being updated but the reception staff were able to complete our airline on-line check in for us. The only downside is that the location is the opposite end to where most of the attractions are, but then the fact that it is uptown is a bit of a give away and it also means you can keep costs down if you are on a budget. I would recommend this hotel if you are prepared to travel downtown most days. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
"My Stay at BelleClaire Hotel"
I enjoyed my stay overall at the Belleclaire, however, my bathroom sink drain didn't work; my shower temperature handle was very slow to adjust water temperature; the cleaners did not replace the bed cover sheet after my 1 year old baby had vomited on it the night before and my laundered shirt was not returned on time and in time for a business appointment. […] I would probably try the Belleclaire again despite these glaring disappointments because the service was friendly and I enjoy that neighborhood, but I hope I am sent a discount for my next stay given these issues. "Nice hotel but needs a bit of fixing up"
The room's themselves are nice and welcoming and the hotel on arrival looked beautiful. However our room was too small for 2 people and the bed was not a full double. The radiator also made such a noise that it kept us up through the night, to be fair to the hotel however they did upgrade us for free to a massive room. Despite this the noise level in […] this room was just as bad and there was a gap in the window meaning we had no choice but to keep the loud radiator on. Overall the hotel is old and needs some fixing up, it may look nice and the beds are comfortable however as I say the radiators are really loud and windows don't close properly etc. It was a bit of a pain, especially when exhausted after all the New York walking - it was not ideal to be woken up at 3am. Some hotel staff - particulalry those who collect the luggage and stand at the door etc can't do enough for you. Can't say the same for reception staff however - some were really nice but some just seemed like they couldn't be bothered handing out info. There is a restaurant that delivers to the hotel free of charge and when I went to ask for the menu and how to go about ordering I simply got a menu tossed at me then she turned her back (after she had ignored me standing at the desk). They also supplied us confusing and incorrect info when we booked buses to the shopping outlets and failed to tell us about their cheap airport transfers. All in all not the worst but wouldnt recommend. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Expedia
We enjoyed staying there overall. The location was great, so was the service and the lobby. It was clean and the decor was attractive. However, the room was on the small side for $249 price and the window was taped shut with scotch tape.Avis certifié Hotels.com
We couldn't have picked a better hotel, in a perfect location we walked to the Museum of Natural History and Central Park, it's a 2 minute walk from a subway station which connects you to all over New York, the room was kept tidy, the staff were friendly and happy to help! Couldn't fault it :) Now to start saving to go back :)Avis certifié Expedia

"7 nights at Hotel Belleclaire"
The location is good. Near the great walks of Central Park, Near good restaurants: The "Cottage" is very good value for money Chinese: "Pier 72" is a great breakfast Diner. Just 10 minutes walk from the metro on 79th, and 15 minutes from 72nd. The room was comfortable. A shower rather than a bath, but the shower was reliable and spacious. The staff […] were friendly and helpful; No room coffee, but a coffee shop around the corner, and breakfast coffee in the lobby for $2.50 a cup. The radiator in my room clanked sometimes. Just 15 minutes walk from the Cinema at Lincoln Square.A memorable trip in a cold, dry, sunny New York Spring. "Convenient for the upper West side"
The Belleclaire is easy to reach and very convenient if you are visiting the upper West side of New York. It is especially convenient for concerts at the Beacon theater. It is also near museums restaurants etc. The staff is very pleasant and attentive, the rooms, while small, are nicely appointed, very clean, and very comfortable. It can be a bit noisy […] however as the walls seem thin. We stay there often. Lisez la suiteAvis certifié Hotels.com
