BEST WESTERN GOLDEN KEY - Auburn

i was surprised how much we got for the price. Great breakfast, nice covered pool, comfortable bed and pillows, beautifully landscaped with flowers, pleasant staff and surprisingly quiet considering its location. Walking distance to several restaurants

We were going to a surprise party at the local Irish pub. It was a family surprise, this hotel worked out perfectly for the convenience, location, the staff was pleasent. There was even a cover to the pool which you could hear people enjoying, it was a good idea for the cooler months.

Right where I needed to be. We got the last room on the 2nd floor which was perfect for us. This is a pet friendly hotel (according to the website) but the clerk told us no pets in the room we were in (not sure why). I brought my dog in anyway. haha Great price and conveniently located near the freeway and some fast-food places.

The staff was courteous and the room was nice. The price was right. It was just a short drive from Old Town and our room was plenty quiet. Only complaint is the bathrooms could probably use updating, but really not a big deal. We didn't have the continental breakfast but peaked in and it certainly seemed like you would expect. This is a nice, clean and basic hotel. The staff was very friendly...more so than most hotels. It was clean. The breakfast room is comfortable. The sports bar and restaurant next door is very good. I was in town for a couple nights of work and this hotel made my time away from home much more comfortable.

Stayed at this hotel due to it was "dog friendly" They accept large dogs up to 80lbs. We have 2 German Shepherds. Front desk gave us "doggie bags" upon arrival with treats & supplies inside. Our room was large, clean, comfortable & easily accessible to the dog area. Added perks for this hotel has late check out, noon, and breakfast until 9:30. Breakfast […] included waffles, cereal, fruit, bagels, yogurt, coffee & juice. This hotel is close to restraunts, grocery stores & Starbucks. The hotel was quiet, comfortable, clean and the breakfast was great. The location was convenient also.

Too close to I-80, so from our room we could hear traffic noise all night.

We always like staying here as the location is great to getting around town. The people are always friendly and helpful and we can depend on knowing our rooms are always clean.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They made me feel welcomed. The hotel looks recently updated with paint, fixtures, WiFi, and security lighting. Even the landscaping was nicely maintained. The continental breakfast was bettter than most. I highly recommend this hotel when in the area.

Staff was helpful. Breakfast was beyond expectation with waffles/and fresh pastry. It was more than the usual continental breakfast. There were beverages and fresh cookies in the lobby all day/night. Swim/hot tub towels available. Restaurant recommendation for dinner was perfect. We went to the same place for both nights of our stay. We would stay at […] the Golden Key again in a minute. We needed to check out a little late and the manager was super helpful. Most hotels try to grab more money for an extra hour. I will always stay at this hotel while in Auburn

Four Ladies on way to Reno - Hotel 1/2 way stop over. Arrived 9:00 p.m. Great hot tub and covered pool. Room clean and ready. Very friendly staff and helpful with minor emergency---need tape for repair or Cpap machine repair at 11:30 at night. Great breakfast included in cost of room. Fresh made waffles available...fresh fruit...fresh coffee... Hotel […] landscaping beautiful. Rooms close to street would be a little noisy because a freeway. The staff was excellent and accommodating. My big problem with this hotel, was the location. It is right by the freeway and you can hear the cars driving by. You don't get a vacation feel.

We drove up from SF and stayed the night on our way to Tahoe. Got a great deal on the room. Clean as described. Best part is the complimentary breakfast in the morning with fresh Belgian waffle maker. Yum! We loved it. Our 19 month old was with us. Great for families.

Auburn has nearly NO choices as to lodging and this was the best and in the proximity to our plans. Great value! It's just off the highway, and the staff are so sweet that the age and dinginess of the outside of the establishment seem to be forgiven. Clean room, very minimal as far as extras and a musty, unused smell. I would go back again and recommend […] it, if you just need a bed, shower and place put your things for the night. The location was very convenient for all the sightseeing we did in the area. The staff was informative, friendly and very knowledgeable. We could not have been happier with this hotel. This is the first Best Western we have stayed at where the office staff actually smiled and appreciated your business.
