"good location but creaky floors"
The hotel has a wonderful location one short block away from Kensington Park and from the Lancaster Gate tube stop. There's a cute bar in the lobby that's comfortable and inviting. The rooms and hallways are typical for European standards but small for US. My only negative comment about this place is that it is an older building, and while the amenities […] are more upgraded, the floors creak and the walls are thin. When my neighbors came into their room, it almost sounded like they had accessed mine, and the creaking floors made it seem like they were in my room. Lisez la suite
"Okay...but "upgrade" not worth it.."
This was the second time I was staying at this hotel while in London. Last year I got a single room, which while very small it was fine. This time around however, they "upgraded" me to a double room. Which was located in the basement level. The room I had was right next to the emergency exit door which was where the employees of the hotel went out to […] talk on their phones and have breaks I guess, because I kept hearing them go in and out of that door. It was quite annoying when I had to be up extremely early the next morning for my flight back to the US. My window had a nice view of the little alley where the exit led to. And when I was trying to get to sleep it sounded like some kind of appliance was going on the other side of the wall. Needless to say, if they "upgrade" you to room B05, decline it. It's the worst room in the hotel. Stick with the small single room. At least you won't have a view of an alley and listen to employees calling people on breaks. Lisez la suite
"Best Western Mornington Hotel, London"
Well located next to Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate underground station. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast . Room was available upon arrival at 9:00 am. Free Wi-Fi.
"Great for money paid"
Convenient for Abingdon town - a 15 min walk away, convenient for Milton Park which is a 10 min drive down the A34. Hotel very clean, bed comfy - shower not so great but for the money paid, I would certainly use this hotel again.

"Great location lovely rooms"
Conveniently located, three minuted from the Tube, a couple hundred metres from Hyde Park. Courteous staff, no complaints well-appointed confortable room.
"Best Western Mornington in London -- a gem!"
The Mornington is a small hotel located across from Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens near the Lancaster Gate tube station in London. The hotel is quite comfortable despite the small single room. that's not a problem, however, as I didn't go to London to lounge in a hotel room. The staff are very engaging, friendly and capable and helped me find the best […] way to various sites using transit. Special thanks to Geidre and Sylvia. It is very close to the wonderful shopping area between Marble Arch and Oxford Station (including Selfridge's if you're not on a budget) as well as a comfortable and lovely walk to Royal Albert Hall, the Museum of Natural History, Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. All a must see and all are free. While the hotel serves an excellent breakfast, there is no other restaurant in the hotel. There is a lovely little bar in which to rest, chat or catch up on email. The free wireless signal was very good and never failed. There are very good Indian, Italian, Indonesian restaurants and English pubs all within a 5 minute walk behind and beside the hotel. Paddington Station (and the Heathrow Express) is a pleasant, level, 10 - 15 minute walk away (depending on how competent or organized you are with luggage), or an embarrassingly short cab ride. The Tube station is very convenient and gets you right downtown to transfer points quickly and easily. I stayed in a small room with a single bed, but the bed was very comfortable. I suppose the bottom line of any review is "Would you stay there again? My answer is " Definitely." Lisez la suite

"Hotel is near Marble Arc London"
Small boutique type hotel. Very friendly staff and really genuine good service. Recent refurb and very comfotable in public areas. Like most london hotels my room was small but well furnished and modern. - will be back again when on a theatre trip or long weekend.
"Pretty decent for a london hotel"
Recently renovated is a plus. The room I stayed in was decent size and the bathroom was nice. All in all, a pretty good value proposition.

"Great hotel, but shoved in the basement"
This was a beautiful hotel in a great location (Lancaster Gate). The Tube was less than a 5 minute walk and it was a 5-6 minute walk to Paddington Station where you can take the Heathrow Express to the airport. The hotel itself was pretty but the room was very tiny. I was also put in the basement where there are 2 hotel rooms. I told them I do not […] feel comfortable in the basement, especially since there are windows and steps outside the glass. She said due to the rate that is where I was put. I asked if I could pay additional money to contribute to a room not in the basement but she said I'd have to pay out of pocket for a new room which was very expensive. The room was cute, but the bed was hard as a rock. The staff were nice people and very helpful. It was in a quiet, beautiful location too. Overall I give it 4 stars, but I do not recommend a basement room. It was sort of creepy to me for a hotel room to be in the basement. While the glass was frosted and you couldn't see outside, you could see people's feet as silhouettes. Lisez la suite
"PERFECT LOCATION - PERFECT HOTEL"
Very modern, great service and decent size rooms. Location just 5 mins from Paddington and Oxford Street. Natalia was great at reception.
"Best Western - Mornington - GREAT Location"
Great location, 1 block from Kensington Park and subway station. Room was tiny (think NYC), but comfortable, quiet, great shower and internet connectivity. As a business traveler, I would go back.
"Best Western Mornington Gate London"
Competitively priced hotel convenient to Paddington Station. Was nervous after reading other reviews, but had a good experience. Room on the 3rd floor was small, but not too bad for London. Importantly it was comfortable and reasonably quiet. Free WiFi a nice bonus.

"Best Western Mornington - Ideal for business stay"
Great location for access and the price is excellent for the location. It was ideal for 2 nights stay, especially as I was coming back late and I didn't fancy carrying my luggage about on the tube. I had the added breakfast which was a mix of english and continental, so a lot of variety! Room was small, but functional for one person. The rest of the […] hotel was compact, but is ideal for a short stay in central London at a reasonable price. Lisez la suite

"Best Western Mornington Hotel - good location."
Within good proximity of Paddington Station and Lancaster Gate Tube. Modern room very clean with all necessary amenities. Offered a good breakfast selection. Staff polite and welcoming. Good value for money - would definately go back!
"Convenient for the Central line, especially at 6am"
My room bizarrely seemed to be located through the closed breakfast room, lights off, and down towards the basement. The room itself had no complaints, it was clean spacious and comfortable. My only real complaint was that at 6am the room was shaken by the Central line tube which it must be right over, every 2 minutes. The hotel I would recommend, […] room 22 I would avoid! "I shouldn't really submit this review"
because my impression of this hotel was so favorable that I think: 1. more people will choose it; and 3. the price will probably go up. There are so many fleabag hotels around Paddington. It was a real pleasure to find and stay at this hotel. Service great, room great, area great, breakfast great. It was a great experience!
"Mornington Crescent London - very pleasant stay"
The hotel is a short walk from Lancaster Gate tube station, in a side street close to Hyde Park. We asked for a quiet room, and the only sounds we heard during the stay were the cleaners using the cupboard opposite our room, so very pleased. The room was modern, clean and well decorated. It actually had two levels, with a television and two chairs, […] wardrobe and bathroom 'downstairs', and bed, writing table and another television upstairs. The bed was very comfortable and the room had air conditioning which was appreciated. The only slight criticism I have is that there was no table downstairs and only a couple of drawers upstairs, but for a short stay that was fine. The bathroom was small but clean and contained free toiletries. The hairdryer was inside the wardrobe and couldn't be removed because the plug was hidden, so you have to dry your hair using the mirrored wardrobe doors - I'd have preferred to be able to take the hairdryer upstairs and sit down, but it was fine other than that. The room was dark, and you couldn't see outside because the windows were frosted, but maybe that's because we asked for a quiet room. The breakfast was nice, with a good selection of hot and cold food on a serve yourself basis. The hot food wasn't very hot, because it was kept in metal containers with lids, but I suppose it depends how many people are eating and the turnover. The sausages were horrible, but everything else was fine. All the staff in the hotel were friendly and efficient, that's front of house, waiting and cleaning staff - they were all really nice and are a credit to the establishment. I'd happily stay at this hotel again for a short break. Lisez la suite
Overall I would say the Hotel was nice. I would have liked a fridge in my room for the price I payed. The room was larger than I thought it would be. I was a little bothered one thing though. When I checked out I left my baggage with the front desk. The front desk did not give me a claim ticket for the bags and luggage I left and asked me to go into […] the luggage room and claim my bags as she didn't know which bags were mine. I don't like the idea practically anyone with access to that room could take any bags they like without a claim ticket. Lisez la suite
"Modern hotel in great location"
Excellent hotel, recently renovated. Close to Lancaster Gate tube station. Nice lobby and bar. Room simple but clean and modern.
"Room Very Small"
For the price & being an American Chain, the room was very small. my husband had to jump over me in bed to go to the door or rest room. There was hardly room for the luggage of the 2nd person. The bathroom was so small that you would be hit by the towel dryer when you enter the shower. When I complained to the front desk that the rooms were very small […] I was told " This is London standard". I think the standard is very low. We went to Edinburgh & Inverness, Scotland; Paris; Munich & Romania in this trip but never happy with the sizes of the rooms there. Lisez la suite
"Tidy, clean and good location"
Located near Lancaster gate central line, clean and nice room - if on the small side. Breakfast was good also. Area is nice with large park and a few small pubs and shops around.
"Mornington Hotel, London"
Very clean, however, could not turn off bathroom fan, could not adjust heat in the room (so I kept the window open), towel rack did not heat, bathroom door would not stay shut and step down into the bathroom could be a night time hazard. Stairs were unavoidable. Location was fantastic. Hotel personnel were lovely. Lobby quite pleasant and breakfast […] was very nice. Price was reasonable for such a great location. Lisez la suite
"Perfect location for London Culture"
An enjoyable walk across the park to the museums. Also 5 mins from tube if your feeling lazy. A high quality hotel with a friendly efficent staff.
"Best Western Mornington - London - First Class"
I read all the reviews for this hotel before booking it and was impressed by all the good reviews. I booked the hotel, stayed there for 5 nights at the beginning of September and was happy that I did. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable, and the area was clean and safe. It's located right next to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, the Underground […] is close-by (about 5 minute walk), and the busses are on the next block. Love it. Lisez la suite
"Great Hotel"
This hotel has a great central location, beautiful furnishings, and comfortable (althought tiny by american standards) room. It gives the feel of a boutique hotel however, the service was not as such... some of the front desk staff were borderline rude and sometimes unhelpful. The one perk about the hotel was the daily breakfast included in the room […] price. Overall, this hotel is a good one and I would recommend it. Lisez la suite
"Best western was alright"
I booked pretty late so i guess i can't complain everything else was booked up but it's really not worth the cost. Being close to a tube station on the central line was extremely convenient but for the price a slightly bigger room would be expected. Also paper thin walls, literally had trouble sleeping due to the person snoring in the room over.

"BW Mornington Hotel - Just What I Was Looking For"
Perfect location, around 5 pound taxi ride from Paddington Station, quite perfect single person hotel.
"Single Room"
I stayed in a room with a single bed. The room was really small, and it was in the basement of the building which I wasn't expecting. Being a lady travelling by herself I wasn't so fond of having my window be at ground level. The room was extremely small, but I suppose it was all I really needed. It was clean, and contemporary. The location is really […] convenient - 5 min walk to paddington station and practically across the street from hyde park. Some people in the hotel had breakfast included with their rooms....for some reason mine didn't. Decent hotel for the budget conscious single traveler looking for a convenient location. Lisez la suite
"Don't shave!!"
Room small but adequate, amazingly there is no shaver point in the bathroom and no hairdryer. There was no shower gel provided which is unusual these days. Breakfast was hot but things were not replaced very quickly and items often ran out.
"Best Western Mornington - Never Again"
I had booked and paid for a standard single room with free wi fi. The room was in the basement with frosted glass window and was clearly smaller than a standard room. The remoteness of the room meant the wifi was useless. However the real kicker was the room temp. It never went below 27 deg C (80deg F) despite my protestations so I had 3 nights bathed […] in perspiration. I complained and was told the management would be in touch: I am still waiting. Oh yes, my key would not open the exercise room. Staff were helpful and efficient but this hotel needs to get its act together. Lisez la suite
"Quite expensive for a basement, overlooked room"
For a central London hotel our room was spacious. Everything was clean and comfortable too. But I think we paid a lot for a room in the basement, overlooked by a pub beer garden. (Room 21) We had to close our curtains where we arrived because we could make eye contact with the pub's customers! The decor was also quite tacky and the breakfast room was […] windowless and in the basement too. I'd have like to have seen more of the nice parts of the building. Lisez la suite
"decent price"
The location was fairly good. The room was small but clean and pleasant enough. The shower didn't produce hot water one morning
"Good location, clean and comfy, small rooms"
Good location just by the London underground (Lancaster Gate) and Hyde Park/ Kensington Gardens. Nicely decorated, simple but full breakfast, small but clean and comfortable rooms. The staff was always friendly and could always find an answer to my questions. Also, free wifi, which is great!
"Located centrally to heart of London"
The only thing in favour of the Hotel was its location. About 15 mins to Oxford Street. Otherwise, the Hotel is over priced, with room size equivalent to what you would expect for a bathroom!
Big problems in communication and housekeeping. Shame, as it is a modern, well designed and ideally located property
