Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls - Niagara Falls

We were promised view of the falls side and we were not provided what we were promised. They told us that their is always a problem with online booking and they said all the other rooms with good view of the falls were full. Not satisfied with the customer service

it totaly bad . dirty, enviroment that not good . next room too noisy when having baby crying all night long . when next room shower , it sound noisy event toilet flushing noisy too

Not one of the best stays, additional charges for internet and overnight parking. Service is very lapse, had to wait at an empty reception desk for 5 min several times. Rooms are clean but the Hotel has seen better days compared to the local competition.

We really enjoyed our stay. My husband was in a recent accident and is not very mobil right now so our room overlooking the falls was perfect for him. We had a wonderful view of the lightshow every night. We were close to the attractions and had many good restaurants close by. The highlight was taking a tour which we set up in the hotel lobbey. It was […] the highlight of our trip and included wine tasting, shopping, a visit to a chocolate factory and views of the canals and ships passing through. Our guide was informative and fun. great location for everything and close to casino

The king size bed was perfect , the view of the falls was great but wish we a couple floors higher. We were on the 5th floor. The spa tub was nice could use more jets!! And just steps, like right outside is my favorite place... the casino!

Hotel room had cracked ceilings, the toilet didn't work, called maintenance 3 times to fix, never showed. What a joke.

We couldn't have asked for a better view from our hotel room. For the best views, you probably need to stay at least 7 or 8 floors up, and the falls view rooms are just incredible. We had a very clean room, and the hotel was in a great location. It didn't look like to many other hotels would have as nice as a view as we did. Would definitely stay there […] again. I really like Oakes hotel but this time when I went there was a 15$/day parking charge which I did not notice when I booked with Hotel.com so I am not sure who's fault Other than that, it is a nice hotel overlooking the falls and in a very good location

My husband and I chose The Oakes because of thier claim to have the best view of the falls..and they did not disappoint. We had a corner room on the 13th floor and the view was amazing. They are not the fanciest hotel on the block but it met our expectations (view & jacuzzi tub). It was reasonably priced for the location and the room we had. I probably […] wouldn't recommend staying here if you do not have an an upper level room with a view, but I would probably say that about staying anywhere in Niagara Falls. Being that it is the main attraction and the reason for our visit. If you are frequent visitor to the area this may not be as important to you. I only say this because if your looking to have more on-site amenities this is not the hotel. The fitness center is outdated and the indoor pool is rather small. It does have an arcade and has access to the Applebee's next door (we did not dine there) . However, if you are there to relax and take in the falls then I would give The Oakes a try. We stayed in one of the King Bed rooms with jacuzzi tub. The room was spacious, the layout of our room was interesting, perhaps because we were in a corner. It had a separate seating area with a sofabed, TV and the closet. Which was down a small hall way and around a corner. It came with standar amenities- coffee maker, hair dryer, but no refridgerator. The's TV's are older models (not flat screens) but we didn't watch much TV. The room was clean. There are plenty of places within walking distance of the Oakes to eat and the Falls are also a short walk away. The "elevator" to the falls, which is just outside of the hotel, was not operating during our visit (off season) . That would have provided a more direct route to the falls, but at a fee (not sure how much) and we didn't mind the walk. The weather was in the high 70's (low 80'sF) which was odd for that time of year so I don't know that we would have been as inclined to walking around as much, if the it had been colder or raining Lisez la suite

Room was very nice and view was amazing. Price was at least 25% cheaper for comparable Room. The only glitch was asked about wifi and They gave me login & password but could Not get a signal. But overall excellent choice To stay

The view from my room on the 8th floor could not have been better. The panorama of Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls was magnificent! There were some rips in the chairs making the furniture seem a bit shabby, but it was very clean. I had a room with a jacuzzi tub and it too was wonderful. I would have given this hotel a 5 star rating had it not […] been for the indifference of front desk staff, and this was mainly just one person. When I checked in, I was kept waiting at the desk while the person on duty berated a customer complaining on the phone. I asked for assistance in booking an excursion of some type and was told to go to the tourist kiosk several blocks away (which was closed). I would definately stay here again. Lisez la suite

This hotel was so beautiful to look at and we were so excited but the receptionist gave us a room on the 2nd floor that was so filthy and so small.We have been to many hotels in niagara falls and this by far was the worst. We will never go there again

For a falls-side room - The blanket was ripped - The ceiling of the room was dented - The front-desk did not have tooth-paste - You pay $15 for parking a day I have stayed at motels with better room conditions and service than this place.

The hotel is dated and in need of repair. Sinks did not work, TV broken and lights shorted out. the staff were short and seemed anxious to just get rid of us. Not what we expected.

It appeared that our room had not been vacuumed. There were Cherios all over the carpet and under one bed. There was a lot of "stuff" on the carpet which was not very appealing. Also, the coffee pot did not appear to be very clean! Was disappointed there was no tea for us. The view spectacular! The woman that checked us in was amazing! I had an awful time the second I found out my room was on the second floor. When I booked the room, it did say the room would be overlooking the falls anywhere from floors 2-9. Conveniently I was placed on the 2nd floor. Instead of a view of the falls or the Niagara River as promised, I faced a parking lot. The television was broken, and the beds were […] uncomfortable. Good location and clean. But seemed old and on the verge of being rundown. Tv only had 5 channels. 2 were the same viewing and a third had no sound. No Ethernet cable for Internet. And only pay wifi. No free areas. Also front desk staff were 50/50. At check in there was no one there, and when she did show up she spent more time talking to a coworker […] about a bracelet that had been dropped in a toilet and been recovered. The hotel is a very nice place to stay , however with cost of the room and lack restaurant and room service , why is there a need to charge for parking. I see this as gouge to make this hotel more expensive than it alrighty is

Hotel was all it claimed to be. We had booked a falls view room and when we checked in we had been given, as per our reservation, a King room on the 10th floor. I asked if we could be moved to a little higher floor and without hesitation the lady moved us to a corner room on the 16th floor. It had a fabulous view and a wonderfully updated bathroom, […] along with a sitting room with a couch. The room also had a table and chairs by the floor to ceiling windows over looking the falls. The only thing we missed was having a small fridg.The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. It is in a great location. The Oaks was considerably cheaper than several other falls view hotels. My wife and I decided to go to Niagara Falls over Spring break and felt that this hotel would be the best option. Unfortunately it was not what we expected for a suite. The room has dust and a spider web in the corner, as well as wear and tear that has built up over the years. I did not find the staff friendly and even rude at some points. I did not […] like paying 20 a night for parking and internet when we had to pay so much for a "premium room". The worst part of this trip happened at midnight, the fire alarm went off and we were forced to walked down 18 floors of stairs after I have already taken my medication which made me sleepy and clumsy, not good when you trek up and down 18 flights of stairs. We received no apologies or any instructions during the incident and we became worried and confused with people running up and down the stairs pushing as they passed. We waited in the freezing hallway for about 40 minutes with only a light sweater as stated before because we received no instructions as the hotel manager should have done because people were taking the elevator. I was very upset with not only the service but the help and the stay. I really wish I would not have booked with them because their high prices mixed with paying 15.00 a day for parking and 5.00 for internet made our trip even worse. Great view from the 16th floor. Great bed and bathrooom. The room was very stale when we got there plus the TV was at least 20 years old and had a bad picture. There were hardly any channels either.

My stay at this hotel was not that plseant as the room was freezen cold. No internal acces to internet or WFI for the price i felt overcharged.

We would NOT recommened this hotel. It is needs major updating. The picture is not correct. It has a tall tower as part of it, but it also has a motel style attached with just 2 floors. (Old motel style). Thats of course where our room was, because we paid the cheaper amount. Spend the extra, stay somewhere else. This room DID however, include dirty […] windows, a tree outside the window scratching the window the entire night. A bathroom door that didn't close correctly and a fan that rattled the walls. This hotel as the building reside place wise sits on the best location to view the both sides of the Niagara Falls...

This is a great hotel to stay at. It is close to the casino and many great restaurants. We had an end unit room with a excellent view of both the falls on the Canadian and US sidet. The only thing I wasn't happy about was you have to pay for parking each day your at the hotel and there is also a fee per day for the internet. The rooms are terrible and in really shabby condition. The sink is even OUTSIDE the bathroom! Do NOT stay here if you have a choice! The location is good, but i'm sure there are better deals out there.

Rude staff. Stupid lay out of rooms. Stupid shower. No towels in pool room. Lady at desk at night was super rude and treated me like an idiot when i asked her to microwave something. Windows so dirty cant even take pictures of the falls

The fallsview rooms have the best view of the falls of any of the hotels I've stayed in...

Two night stay, no hot water, and the discount was free parking.... Will not be staying here again, some how we still had a good time. Staff seems very nice.

Overall its a good hotel. Needs renovation. It's the second time I have stayed. Last time, did not pay for parking, this time, they charged $15.00 per day!! Not funny when you have to pay an average of $25.00 for breakfast per person! We were 6!, so make the math. It will be a while until get back to Canada again.

My boyfriend, I and another couple stayed one night in a fallsview room. The woman at the desk at check-in wasn't super friendly. It's $15 to park. The room had a great view of the falls and the room was clean. The location was walking distance to St. Catherines. I'd go back to this hotel.
