Y Hotel City South - Redfern

La chambre est très petite. idem pour la fenêtre qui donne sur un boulevard bruyant, donc inutile d'ouvrir cette fenêtre. On entend aussi légèrement les trains car le chemin de fer est en face. Cet hôtel convient aux personnes qui passent la journée à l'extérieur. Le 4eme étage (zone de bbq) est en travaux. Le petit déjeuner en buffet en correct.

Les prix sont corrects pour Sydney, donc il n'était pas étonnant de trouver la chambre un peu étroite et le petit déjeuner très simple. Néanmoins, l'accueil est bon et c'est propre. L'hôtel est situé à côté des chemins de fer donc à éviter pour les sommeils légers! I would recommend this hotel with one reservation, the noise from the railway is very high, try to get a room the other side of the railway.

Me and my partner stayed here due to a let down by a family member! Location to darling harbour is about 15min walk and to the opera house a solid 25-30 min. The room was very small but the bed was very comefortable witch gave us a good nights sleep. A/C in the room, tea and coffee and a tv that picks up 1 or 2 decent channels! The Hotel was value for money. Its near the train station so it was convenient when we arrived in Sydney. Our Hotel room was very small, how ever we weren't in there for anything else but sleep. And that was hard to do as our room was directly on the train tracks. Which made sleeping very difficult There was a sizeable crack in the wall corner over bed. Hotel was clean, tidy and convenient as we did,t have to find somewhere to have breakfast, it was included.

Y Hotel is clean, cheap and an easy walk to Darling Habour. If all you need is a place to sleep then this is great. The rooms are very small so they arent good for socialising. the Y hotel is very basic. Rooms are small, showers are small, rooms have a musty odor even with the window open and despite the maids having just "cleaned" the room, tiny closets and drawer space, and a breakfast that consists of toast and jam. This is NOT a 3 star hotel. It's the YWCA. Our room was old and tiny. The bed was clean, the bathroom clean but the carpet was scary to walk on. It's located right next to the train station and a very busy street. It's a backpacker place and I bet they paid a lot less than we did!!

Super Super noisy....since the location of hotel is near the Central Station of Sydney which is most busy station in Sydney. You heard the train pass the hotel in EVERY 10 MINUTES...may be more frequent...Although the score of hotel in other area is fine, overall I can not accept to sleep beside the train track.

After reviewing Hotel.com previous reviews we were shocked to see the condition of the hotel. It,s dirty, not centralized at all (need to walk / train / or bus), didn't feel safe in the location, breakfast was a joke (toast / jam / cereal, no coffee).

The hotel is cheap, near to many places. It is a bit noisy as it is near to motorway and train station! Well if you're looking for a budget hotel this is the one.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The hotel and room were very clean. The room size was small, but neatly arranged. Room size enough for 2 persons, not suitable for 3. Toilet was very clean. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very simple but enough. We stay with our child, but no extra charges taken. Staff not very friendly, Train noise too much. Location good. Overall not so good.

Might have another view of this hotel if the power did not go out and we had some aircondition. 30 degrees.

Clean, small room but has got everything (fridge, kettle, proper shower facility, iron boards, hair dryer...) in the room; a bit far from CBD, but if weather permitted, still able to walk to central station. Breakfast included...which was really convenient...

The approach to this hotel from Central Station is a little unnerving as the neighbourhood appears to get less well maintained, additionally, the hotel is actually very close to Redfern station and it is far easier to use that station. The staff were friendly enough, when we first arrived we were put in a foul smelling room (asthough the door hadnt […] been opened for some time) right on the train tracks. I went and spoke to reception and asked to be moved and they were most obliging. All of my interactions with the staff were along these lines, they didnt go out of their way, but when I asked they were very helpful. The rooms themselves are tiny! But once you get over that, it is actually fine. The ensuite was quite nice, strong shower pressure and clean. Another positive is that we couldnt hear our neighbours at any time because the walls are very thick, I have found in the past that cheaper hotels/ hostels rarely have this! The breakfast was basic (cereal and toast) but did the trick! There are some nice cafes down Abercrombie Street and good bus routes on City Road, both easy walks from the hotel. We walked around at night and felt perfectly safe, although I was warned by a friend that a road close to the hotel leading to Redfern was a bit dodgy at night and worth walking the long way round the main road. Everything considered, I would stay again if I was on a tight budget, it gave us more money to spend in Sydney and I would make the same decision again. Lisez la suite

It was nice and comfortable but very, very small.

Quality of internet in room was shocking. Do not buy the internet and not worth the money!!! But the location and cleanliness was good!!

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 days; I have to say it exceeded my expectations and included b/fast! It was close to public transportation which was a definite plus. Rooms were very clean, hallways smelled good. Loved the rooftop area for relaxing, bbqing. Hotel close enough to walk to wherever you wanr to go. Room was smaller than anticipated

At first, unsure when i walked in, room being small and the area not familiar with. As time want on I found not only the location walking distance to the city but overall not a bad place. The train noise did not bother us, room nice and clean, although the cleaners did not make up the bed, only just pulled he sheets over but room is nice and clean and […] aircon/heater worked very well. The Y Hotel City South is very conveniently located. Many of Sydney's spectacular sights are within walking distance. The room was basic, and had double windows to keep ~most~ of the nearby train noise out. The staff were friendly, though often the front desk was unmanned, which is fine if you don't need any assistance. Small but comfortable room. Helpful desk clerks in arranging transportation in the morning. It was nice to have continental breakfast available in the morning.

The hotel on clevelaland street.... The hotel was cheap thats the best i can say....

Everthing ok except noisy rail track just next to the hotel -- take earplugs with u. Showers are designed for 5ft talls. Limited parking. Free breakfast.

The hotel is very well located and was good value for money. The noise from the traffic did not bother too much, either. We stayed in the apartment and it was spacious and nice. The only thing was the cleanliness of our apartment. it was dirty and they didn't vacuum it during our stay at all.
