"I guess it was ok"
Expensive for what is was. Trouble with Hotel.com booking was cleared up by very very helpful front desk. She was the most efficient hotel concierge/desk clerk I have ever encountered. Two towels for pool were left for four people (not good). Beds sagged. Smoking allowed. Lots of kids, and group of college kids in room below partied all night. Breakfast […] in lobby but nowhere to sit. But the friendliness of staff made the stay ok. Lisez la suite
"Owner was great!"
Extremly noisey. Service was great. Need to invest in better towels. Loved the owner. Great Guy.

"Very Unique!"
I loved this hotel because it is Spanish influenced, inside and outside, which makes it very unique. I only wish the influence extended to the rooms themselves. The pool was heated, which was nice because it is enclosed, but not INSIDE,so there was definitely a cross-breeze. There is also a hot tub, but due to the fact that it was so close to the laundry […] room, there was often dryer lint floating in it. I was also disappointed to find that their one and only vending machine was out of bottled water the entire time we were there(I don't like to drink tap water in strange places). Otherwise, it's in a great location, near the boardwalk, grocery stores, the shopping district, and pharmacies. I would probably stay here again. Lisez la suite

Cozy place to stay! Friendly staff! They do allow dogs! With in walking distance from the Boardwalk - so a morning walk to the beach with the dogs was nice. The rest of the neighborhood was scary at night. Our tub/shower did not drain well and the shower curtain was coming down. The price was fair and staff made good recommendations on activites and […] places to eat! Lisez la suite
"Great hotel"
At first I was a little put off by some of the reviews I read for this hotel about the neighborhood not being safe and the hotel being messy. But I decided to go with my gut instinct and book the hotel anyway. It was a good decision. This hotel was great! The owner was always there - he met us when we checked in, had breakfast the next morning, and […] when we checked out. He was super nice and you could tell how much pride he had in the hotel. Plus, he put out an excellent breakfast with banana bread and other baked goodies he made himself. It was great. Our room was spotless and we had a choice of pillows on the bed, which was very comfortable. We were traveling with a 7 month old baby, so comfort was key. No problem at this hotel. From the looks of the other customers who we saw at breakfast, there are a lot of satisfied guests at this place. As for those who say the neighborhood is sketchy...please. Yeah, you might see a homeless person here and there, but guess what, you see them in lots of places in Santa Cruz. What is the problem? If you are paranoid about homeless people, then I can't help you. But if you live in the real world, where not everything is perfect, this neighborhood is fine. Nobody will come kill you or rob you. Believe me, we were traveling with an infant, and safety is important. This wasn't an unsafe neighborhood by any means! Lisez la suite
"Pacific Inn, Santa Cruz"
The Pacific Inn was fine. It's an older motel but was clean and comfortable. We only needed a place to stay for one night and it suited our needs perfectly.

"Pacific Inn"
We were pleasantly surprised to find such a nice place and a good price. The furniture was older but in good repair and very comfortable. the manager was very pleasant and helpful with directions. Was only 3-4 blks from the ocean. Santa Cruz is a great town.
"nice outside, terrible inside"
from the outside, it thought i was going to the bellagio.. clean and new.. but then you find out it is in a small little ghetto.. scarey to go out at night.. was afraid of car parked.. bed was terrible and cheap.. bathroom was worst than 1 star.. breakfasts was worst than a motel 6 free continental breakfast.. the heated pool was not so heated, the […] jacuzzi was wonderful and the free ice water in the lobby was also nice. "Dirty and in a so so area"
We had requested a King size bed none smoking and we were told they didn't have any more but when we got there there people in front of us were given a none smoking King size bed. Also the floor in the bathroom had pee on it and the rug looked discusting I didn't want to walk on it. The person who checked us in was very nice but that's it I will not […] stay there again. "Pacific Inn - Santa Cruz"
Room was clean, but the whole hotel is in need of renovation. It is situated in a bad neighborhood. You will see the locals come out as soon as it gets dark. You have to walk through a low end neighborhood to get to the boardwalk. The hotel does have free parking though.
"Not great"
I have stayed in many places in Santa Cruz. I thought that I was in a nice plase but it was like being in TJ. It's the neighbors and the thin walls lack of Internet staying connected. Where do I end aaahhh. There are better places fir the same price.
"Pacific Inn - Nice Place"
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They provided good tips for me as I was traveling with my dog. Also, the homemade bread served at the morning complimentary breakfast was exceptional! I would recommend this hotel.
"Cordial and Kind"
I was lucky to score a room with such a friendly and accommodating staff. Upon departure I had left an item behind with was kindly cared for for my retrieval soon afterwards. The location was walking distance to everything and also provided some social hometown flavor. It was a pretty hopping locale yet provided a well needed respite during 4th of July […] weekend, 2011. The pool is indoor but open in the ceiling. The wifi did not work. Breakfast was not nice at all.
"mediocre"
I have tried 4 different motels in Santa Cruz for one-night stays over the past year (my son's 1st year attending UCSC). They have all been disappointing. My conclusion is that SC hotel prices are high and quality is low. I chose this one, spending a little more than my last two motels, because it had a pool and seemed like a convenient location. I […] did not get to use the pool because it does not open until 9:30 am, too late for me. The room was modest and functional, but kind of depressing, considering I had paid about $50 more than the other modest motels I had tried, and it didn't seem any better. Also, they boast about their breakfast, but it did not excite me. The choices were bread machine bread, bagels and cereal. I tried the bread, but could not finish the slice. Lisez la suite

"The Pacific Inn in Santa Cruz, Ca."
The location was right near the beach and very convenient. The room smelled like sewer backup, the bedspread had "spots" on it and the sheets also had crusty areas and a blood spot on them. The jacuzzi had so much bleach in it, that it was hard to breathe and my swimsuit turned from white to yellow.
"Great value at charming hotel convenient location"
The first thing I can say about this hotel is Management cares! The grounds are beautifully kept, the gentleman at the front desk who manages the hotel seems to work 24/7, the hotel has responded to any complaints posted here and to my view has corrected them. The hotel building itself is charming but older and the grounds are beautifully maintained. […] The manager is continuously watching over everything going on. The rooms are compact, a bit dated but very serviceable. The rooms have microwaves, mini fridges, irons, ironing boards, blow dryers, coffee makers, etc. and are clean. The location is great a five minute walk to downtown Santa Cruz and a five minute walk to the beach. The immediate surrounding neighborhood is a little "sketchy" which is compensated by the managers vigilant oversight, but is not a place to walk alone after 11PM. Breakfast consists of hot and cold cereals, muffins, homemade breads, coffee and juice and is included. Lisez la suite
"Pacific Inn"
I stayed here for one night and specifically selected it because of the heated pool and hot tub. When I got there I found the hotel to be charming, although it was in a slightly sketchy neighborhood - homeless people wandering by etc. Don't get me wrong, I felt safe, but I wouldn't allow my teenage daughter to go across the street to the 7-11 at night. […] The room was clean, but it could have used a coat of paint. It wasn't huge, but just fine for two people. The king size bed was very comfy, but the bathroom was teeny. The walls were a little thin, I could here the TV in the next room and the traffic going by. If you're a light sleeper that'll bother you. The hot tub and pool were just great, but for some reason they don't leave towels down there. The real positive about this place is that the service is really great, all around. In addition, it has the best breakfast with homemade bread by the proprietor. Also, when we checked in he was baking cookies that smelled fabulous. He brought some out to me and my daughter and they tasted as good as they smelled. It is worth staying here for those reasons alone. Lisez la suite
"Hotel PURE Pacific Inn in Santa Cruz"
I booked a king sized room for the weekend just to a mini getaway from the city on a cold rainy weekend I had off with my girlfriend. The reason I picked this place above other similar rated and priced hotels in Santa Cruz was because they advertised (and pictured) an indoor pool...because I knew it would rain that weekend. It turns out that it was […] not completely accurate as half the pool was exposed to the rain as the "indoor" pool was actually partially indoor. The water was heated...but because the rain as well as the cold air could get in...getting in and especially out would have been freezing cold. We did go for a swim when it stopped raining the next night...the water was warmish but still a little chilly. The spa was plenty hot however. Bring your own full length robes and slippers if you intend on swimming here during the cold seasons. As for the room...it was a decent size for 2 people. A budget microwave and fridge by some unknown Chinese manufacturer...but they both worked fine. The fridge was a little noisy though but I'm a heavy sleeper so it wasn't a problem for me. The spa tub in the room was nice...it even managed to fit 2 people (albeit snugly). The TV was a standard CRT TV about 27" in size with basic cable channels and HBO. It was strangely positioned away from the center of the bed on a swivel...I assumed this was done so that you could swivel the TV to watch it from the bed or from the spa tub (or toilet even). But most people don't go to Santa Cruz to sit in a room and watch telly. The room also had a coffee maker and some packets of coffee which was nice. There is a small table with 2 chairs near the window which we used to eat breakfast. The man at the check-in desk was very friendly and welcoming. The free breakfast (provided at the check-in desk area) was very basic and buffet style. A toaster with multiple breads provided with butter and jam...as well as bagels, cinnamon rolls and 3 different cereals, an apple or orange juice dispenser Lisez la suite

"Should be better"
After hearing our Christmas vacation travel plans were dashed ... due to ice storms in the midwest, we decided to take a little "feel good" trip to the Pacific Shore. I did a little research using Hotels.com and found the Pacific Hotel. The reviews from a "local" were encouraging, so I booked a room for a few days. 1. The price is kind of steep ... […] IMO should be less. 2. The rooms are SMALL, and decore is old. There is a lot of maintenance that needs to be done to bring this "hotel" up to date. It's not horrible ... just not great. 3. Old TV. No video hookups ... we like to bring our own DVD player to watch movies, or plug in the iPod. Flat screen HD TV's are cheap these days. This would add a LOT to the comfort of the rooms! 4. Microwave, frig worked okay. Complimentary breakfast is average and is served in the check in office, small space, food has to be taken back to rooms so bigger plates or trays would be nice. 5. Nice that they take pets ... but the $15 fee per day should be mentioned in the information about the hotel! We didn't find out until we got there ... but we did expect it. Our tiny pomeranian was very good and didn't leave any surprises ... so $15 a day? Sheesh! Overal the building is nice. Parking is good. Location to the beach, shopping and food are great. If you're a disc golfer ... the Delaveaga Disc Golf Course is minutes away and easy to navigate. The pool is nice, heated and although it's not covered, fine even in windy/rainy conditions. Jacuzzi works good. I would give this place 5 Stars all around if it were renovated. It has personality, the people are cool, the location is good. I recommend it ... even if it needs some work. Honest reviews and more customers visiting will be good for this place ... it needs a little $$ boost. Give it a shot if your expectations are not above average. Lisez la suite

"Best Hotel for the price near the beach!"
Great Room, Friendly staff, awesome pool and hot tub and dog friendly. Close to the beach and you MUST eat at Zachary's downtown for at least one breakfast during your visit! "Hotel Pure Pacific Inn in Santa Cruz"
It was a nice relaxing visit. I was glad I was able to use the pool & jacuzzi, although I did not realize that the pool was not enclose at the roof...it would have been pretty in the summer...but it was a bit cold over Thanksgiving... The walk to the beach was a little longer than I expected, because it is not a direct route, but having a car would […] have made it a little more manageable... But there was a continental breakfast in the morning & everyone was very helpful and my stay was very relaxing Lisez la suite
"The Best Motel in the Beach Area!"
Having grown up in Santa Cruz, I would like to offer some insight. Unlike other resort towns, Santa Cruz has many low-rent neighborhoods near the beach/boardwalk area. Motel PURE (a two story hotel?) Is one of the nicest places to stay near the beach. The great continental breakfast , an excellent indoor pool and spa, clean rooms, strong WiFi and a […] competent staff are among the reasons to stay here. I have stayed in other places nearby and always come back to the PURE. Alan has been working here for many years and is an excellent host: he knows the area and is very good at his job. "Hotel Pure Pacific Inn"
The hotel was easy to find. The woman that checked us in was friendly and helpful. The room needed to be cleaned and painted. The bathroom was kind of gross. There was dirt in the corners onthe floor and the shower curtain did not stay closed so water got on the floor. The breakfast was in the hotel lobby where you check in and it was hard to get what […] you wanted if there was more than 2 people in there. There was no place to eat except in your room or by the pool. It was ok for the area.. not my favorite Lisez la suite
"A nice surprise!"
An excellent little family owned budget hotel. While travelling California on a budget, this place was a gem. Don't be temped by the big chains - book this place. The owners genuinely care - and there are numerous nice little touches through the place. Outstanding value for money.

"PURE Pacific Inn in Santa Cruz, CA"
The exterior is nice, the pool is pretty, and the location is all right but the fan in the bathroom was loud, the refrigerator noisy, and the TV grainy
"Total dive"
This place needs a serious overhaul, better yet tear down and start over. Was probably nice when Reagan was governor.

For the price. the experience was good. We had a king size bed. The room was too small for that size of a bed. next time we well get a queen size or two single beds. The owners were great and the pool was clean. Easy access to boardwalk.
"Excellent stay!"
This was a great place to stay for those on a budget who want to be close to the beach. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The owner was so nice, and he bakes a mean corn muffin. The continental breakfast in the morning was much more than I expected. We were able to walk the few blocks to the beach just fine, and the neighborhood seems safe too. […] Our room was clean and comfortable. It was a great stay. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Lisez la suite
"einsam gelegen"
Hotel recht ordentlich, aber der Ort gibt so gar nichts her. Hier kann man wirklich nur übernachten. Wir würden das nächste mal noch eine Stunde weiter fahren, da ist es dann lebendiger.
